Gotcha: Surprise Heel Turn Takes Place At AEW Revolution

To the other side. While there are all kinds of wrestlers on any given roster, one of the most important distinctions between them is whether they fight for good or bad. This has been the reality in wrestling for decades and continues to be to this day. It makes a difference when someone changes from one side to the other and now it has happened again in a rather violent way. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Two Sports: Current WWE Star Hopes To Compete In Boxing Match This weekend at AEW Revolution, Jamie Hayter successfully defended the Women’s Title against Saraya and Ruby Soho. Following the match, Soho attacked Hayter and Britt Baker, aligning herself with Saraya and Toni Storm. This comes after weeks of the two groups feuding, with Soho sitting on the sidelines. The turn marks the first time that Soho has been a villain in AEW. Soho can be a force. REVIEW: WWF WrestleFest 91: Contains A Hidden Gem

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? WrestleFest 1991 Host: Randy Savage Commentators: Lord Alfred Hayes, Sean Mooney Sometimes you need to get away from weekly TV and do some good(ish) old fashioned Coliseum Video. That’s what we have here, with another compilation tape released in July 1991. You never know what you might get on here but that can make for some interesting watches. Let’s get to it. Randy Savage: Man Of Leisure (as the graphic says) is sitting by the pool as the audio from his career ending loss at Wrestlemania VII plays in his head...

LOOK: AEW’s Dax Harwood Drops Huge Tease About Possible Future With WWE

That would be a change. The rise of AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works, as now WWE has another big budget wrestling promotion to deal with on the national stage. In addition, AEW has allowed wrestlers to have another place to go, which has led to some interesting situations. Now a current AEW star seems to be teasing a jump back to WWE after a rather nasty exit. Back in June 2020, FTR left WWE (where they had been known as the Revival), following a six year run with the company. The team has since moved over to AEW, where they are former Tag Team Champions. Dax Harwood has since announced that the team will be sitting out until their AEW contracts expire at the end of April. This week, Harwood posted a new Instagram story, which shows a piece of paper featuring a WWE logo. There is no word on what was on the paper and nothing about FTR’s possible future with WWE has been confirmed or rumored. Dax posted this on his IG story recently.. Is that a WWE contract in the bott..

She Would Know: Missing WWE Star Says She Is Ready To Return, Unsure Why She Is Gone

She’s not pleased. There are all kinds of talented wrestlers on the WWE roster and it can be difficult to find something for everyone to do. As a result, you never know when someone can be left sitting on the sidelines for a long time. That can happen to any wrestler at any time and now it seems that it is happening to another star. She does not seem happy about it either. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: On The Card: WWE Announces Another WrestleMania 39 Match SmackDown star Aliyah has been absent from WWE television for over four months now with no mention of her whereabouts. Aliyah was reportedly injured at the time, but according to Sportskeeda.com, she posted a since two deleted tweets, saying she had “been cleared since October 27, 2022” and another saying that a return to the ring “ain’t my call”. There is no word on when she is expected to return to WWE TV. Aliyah is a talented star. Check out what she can do when she is around: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post ..

WATCH: Miro Offers Update On His AEW Return Status

That’s not the same thing. With so many wrestlers on the AEW roster, it can be difficult to find time for everyone to get on the television shows. A wrestler falling through the cracks is certainly not uncommon and there are times where AEW just has nothing for them to do. That seems to be the case again with a current star, but now we are getting a bit of confusion over why he is missing. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He Did What? More On Huge Upset This Week On AEW Dynamite Miro has only wrestled four matches on AEW television this year, with his most recent taking place back in September. There have been varying reports about why, with one saying that AEW had nothing creative for him, which was refuted with a report saying that Miro rejected a story pitched to him. Miro was interviewed by Muse TV at the premier of National Treasure: Edge of History, where Miro was asked when he would be returning to AEW. In response, Miro said that it was not up to him, but that he was sitting and waitin..

WATCH: Bayley Squares Off With Fan At WWE Live Event

That’s some quality villainy. For the most part, wrestlers are divided into groups of babyfaces and heels. The heels are there to make fans angry at them and to get the fans cheering for the babyfaces to give them what they deserve. That can be accomplished in a variety of ways and now we saw one of the better methods this weekend at a non-televised events. A video has been released to Twitter showing a match between Bayley and Bianca Belair at a recent WWE live event in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The video includes Bayley arguing with a young fan at ringside multiple times, with the fan shouting that she wants Bayley to lose. Bayley would yell back at the fan multiple times, including once when Bayley was sitting down on the floor. Bayley went on to lose the match. This is pretty impressive. Check out Bayley vs. the fan: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: That is exactly what a villain is supposed to do, as Bayley had the fan wanting to see her get beaten up. It ta..

The Miz Discusses Getting His Start on MTV, The Rock, Plans For Logan Paul

The Miz recently appeared on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen” on the USA Network, where he discussed several topics. Among them were getting his start on Reality TV, interactions with The Rock, his plans for Logan Paul at Summerslam 2022, and more. Below are some highlights from the interview: On getting his start on The Real World: “I was sitting in my fraternity, and I was like, ‘Oh my god, I can be on my favorite show? I can audition for it?’ And back then we had VHS tapes, I had to record myself,” he said. “We didn’t have camera phones back then.” On working with The Rock: “There was a promo that I cut,” he said. “I was getting lost in the world of The Rock and John Cena because it was The Rock and John Cena and I was an up and comer but I was a champion. So, I cut this promo on The Rock and the day after I got a voicemail from The Rock being like, ‘That’s it, that’s how you step up!’ It was motivation.” On his plans for Logan Paul at Summerslam: “Logan Paul fans, a..

LOOK: Randy Orton Has Changed Up His Look While Away From WWE

It’s a different way to go. Wrestling is a lot of things, but ultimately it is a visual medium that needs someone to be able to see the wrestlers. If a wrestler does not catch your attention with their appearance, it can be a lot more difficult to find a reason to connect with them. That means a change in appearance can make a lot of difference and that might be the case again. Following WrestleMania Backlash and a loss to the Usos, RKBRo was attacked by the Bloodline, resulting in Randy Orton being written off of television. Orton has a real life back injury that could keep him off of television for the remainder of the year. Some photos have appeared on Twitter showing Orton with a clean shaven face, rather than his usual mustache, sitting by a pool in Missouri. There is currently no specific date on when Orton will return to the ring. Pics from yesterday of @RandyOrton at a pool in St. Charles,Missouri with a few lucky fans. He musta shaved the day before because he had a stache &..

Yes, Again: Another Last Minute Change To AEW Forbidden Door Card

Yes, another one. With just over twenty four hours to go before AEW’s Forbidden Door event, you would think most of the card would be set. AEW is ready to take on the stars of New Japan in a series of matches, which should make for a rather fun night. However, even with so little time left, another change has been made, though this time it wasn’t WWE’s decision to make. AEW has announced that Hiromu Takahashi has a fever and is not allowed to travel to the United States for his match at Forbidden Door. Takahashi was scheduled to team with Sting, Darby Allin and Shingo Takagi against the Young Bucks, Hikuleo and El Phantasmo, but the match will now be a six man tag with Hikuleo also sitting out. There is no word on if Takahashi will wrestle for AEW in the future to make up for this show. Hiromu Takahashi (@TIMEBOMB1105) has a fever and can’t travel to America to compete at Forbidden Door. The match will now be a trios match with #BulletClub (@youngbucks & @elpwrestling, with @Hiku_Leo..

Important Update On Kenny Omega’s AEW Status

It’s a job. Injuries are one of the worst things that can happen to a wrestler. Not only can they slow a wrestler down in the ring, but they can also put someone on the shelf for a long time. Some of them can be a lot more devastating than others and halt a wrestler’s progress in a hurry. That is the case with a top AEW star, but now he has something else going on behind the scenes. According to PWInsider.com, Kenny Omega has been working behind the scene in AEW as a producer for some of the women’s division matches. This comes as Omega has been out of action since December, recovering from several surgeries and has not made an appearance on television since. There is no word on when he is expected to return to the ring or television in general. Opinion: This is a good sign for Omega, as just getting to be back with AEW in some capacity is better than sitting at home doing nothing all day. Whether you’re an Omega fan or not, there is no denying how much of an influence he has had on ..

KB’s Review: Speaking Of Which

So I’ve been sitting around trying to come up with something to talk about this week. It’s a few days after WrestleMania Backlash and the show was quite good, including a title change that was probably long overdue. Then we have had Monday Night Raw, NXT, Dynamite and some news here and there. After all that, I have come to a conclusion: nothing is worth a full column this week. Therefore, it is time to break the glass and go into the slightly off inner workings of my head, as I’m going to do a stream of consciousness deal this time. That means starting with any given topic in wrestling and talking about it until I move on, with a grand total of nothing connecting these things whatsoever. Don’t bother trying to find some theme or anything close to it, as these are going to be things that just come to my mind one after another. I really miss Coliseum Video. There were some terrible entries in its series, but the idea of getting a new WWF tape every so often (normally once a month or s..

Not So Fast: WWE Star May Be Shifting Into New On-Screen Role

It’s something for him to do. There are a lot of people on the WWE roster and it can be difficult for the company to find something for everyone to do. It is not uncommon to see a wrestler sitting on the sidelines for long periods of time, which can be rather frustrating for the wrestlers and their fans. Now one seems to be back in a different role, but it might just be a setup for something else entirely. Over the last two episodes of SmackDown, Drew Gulak has been auditioning to be a part of the broadcast team, only to be beaten up by Charlotte and Ronda Rousey. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, this may result in Gulak becoming a new authority figure in WWE. Sonya Deville is returning to the ring and Adam Pearce may have Gulak replace her as his secondary authority figure. This is not a guarantee though and is still seen as speculation. Opinion: Sure why not. Gulak is a name that people know and he can talk well enough, so why not see how this goes? If WWE just has to have tw..

REVIEW: Multiverse Of Matches: When Worlds Bump Into Each Other

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Multiverse Of Matches Date: April 1, 2022 Location: Fairmont Hotel, Dallas, Texas Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt This was a show that got my attention as it has a pretty nice card with a lot of things going on. The idea is that there are multiple companies coming together with some representatives for some matches we might not have seen before. That should be enough, even if this is just a side trip on the way to Rebellion. Let’s get to it. I was in attendance for this show, sitting opposite the ent..

REVIEW: Monday Night Raw – April 4, 2022: The Night After

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Monday Night Raw Date: April 4, 2022 Location: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton It is the night after Wrestlemania and I’m not even sure if that means anything these days. This show has a long history of being something special but since that isn’t WWE’s deal a lot of the time, we might be in for a show that is closer to normal. That isn’t exactly inspiring but let’s get to it. Note that I was in the arena for this show, sitting in the upper deck and lo..

REVIEW: NXT Stand & Deliver 2022: Mostly On The Second Part

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Stand & Deliver 2022 Date: April 2, 2022 Location: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas Commentators: Vic Joseph, Wade Barrett Somehow this is NXT’s first time on the road in over two years. It might not be Takeover, but it is one of NXT’s rare big shows and the card could look worse. NXT hasn’t had the chance to do something like this very often and at some point you need to just let them go out there and do their thing in front of a lot of people. Let’s get to it. I was in attendance for this show, sitting i..

REVIEW: WrestleMania 38 Night One: They’re Back

Wrestlemania XXXVIII Night One Date: April 2, 2022 Location: AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas Attendance: 77,899 Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton, Michael Cole, Pat McAfee America the Beautiful: Brantley Gilbert We have arrived at the biggest weekend in wrestling and this time it is back in the full capacity stadium. Again, this year’s show is split in two and again it feels like there is a good one night in between the two shows. That was the case last year though and the first night went well so maybe history can repeat itself. Let’s get to it. Note that I was in attendance for this show, sitting in the third level off the floor in the end zone corner with the stage on my right. Brantley Gilbert sings America the Beautiful. Mark Wahlberg stars in the opening video and talks about how these people have a chance for a Texas sized helping of greatness. That is easier said than done though, as it is not easy to reach that level. Everyone has a chance though, so go ..

SmackDown Live Coverage And Results – March 25, 2022

Smackdown Date: March 25, 2022 Location: Barclays Center, New York City, New York Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee We’re eight days away from Wrestlemania and believe it or not, the preview for the show has a picture of Roman Reigns/Brock Lesnar/Paul Heyman, because that is the only thing on this show that matters. It would be nice for the new Intercontinental Champion to get a Wrestlemania match set up, but I wouldn’t bet on it anytime soon. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of Brock Lesnar’s path of rage last week, including the fork lift attack on the Bloodline’s SUV. Opening sequence. Brock Lesnar is outside of Reigns’ dressing room and says that he has paid some fines and bought some vehicles, including a blood red SUV for Reigns himself. Now upper management has told him to not have any contact with Reigns, so he’ll be sitting in Reigns’ locker room and wait for a good provoking. Lesnar goes into the empty room, likes what he has found (“Not as good as mine but not ..

KB’s Review: That Would Be Stupendous

As you probably know, we are ten days away from WrestleMania 38 and as of this writing, eleven matches have been set for the show, with five matches on the first night and six on the second. In theory, there are going to be about four or five more matches added to the card, though WWE needs to actually get somewhere with that. There are a few matches you can probably guarantee from here, but there are two people who seem to be sitting around waiting on something. Within the last month, WWE has seen multiple title changes, including two singles titles. On February 28, Finn Balor defeated Damian Priest to win the United States Title. On March 4, Ricochet defeated Sami Zayn to win the Intercontinental Title. Both of those title changes are within six weeks of WrestleMania, but WWE does not seem to notice that either of the changes have taken place. With regards to WrestleMania, the United States and Intercontinental Titles mean a grand total of nothing. Neither champion is currently sch..

REVIEW: Sacrifice 2022: It’s Much Better When You Can Actually See It

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Sacrifice 2022 Date: March 5, 2022 Location: Paristown Hall, Louisville, Kentucky Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt This is the month’s Impact Plus special and the card is looking decent. There are a ton of title matches, capped off by Heath of all people getting the World Title shot. If that isn’t your thing, there are three Women’s Title matches, plus a hoss fight between Jonah and PCO. Let’s get to it. Note that I was in attendance for the show, sitting in the balcony. That being said, I barely saw ..
