It’s been a bit. AEW has done quite a few things in its short history and a lot of the roster has been turned over throughout the years. Some wrestlers who were around at the start have since left for one reason or another, though some have just stopped appearing. That is the case with a former champion, who has not been around for a very long time for no apparent reason. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Bryan Danielson Says It’s Time To Go Home, Walks Out On AEW TV Earlier this week, former AEW TNT and Tag Team Champion Scorpio Sky commented on AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman throwing a drink at a young fan at Revolution. Sky said that it was “the smallest d*** energy imaginable”. According to Fightful Select, Sky has not been at AEW events in months and has rarely been seen since losing the TNT Title in July 2022. Sky has not wrestled since the loss and there is nothing to suggest that he is injured or has any problems keeping him out of the ring. I’ll say it if nobody else..
There soon. There are several ways to present a wrestler and various elements have to be put together properly to make it work. One of the most important is the debut as it offers fans their first look at someone new. That can be done in a variety of ways, including building up anticipation for a wrestler’s debut. WWE has been doing that lately and now we have an idea of when someone might be showing up. Hand it over. There are different kinds of title reigns in wrestling and they can all end in different ways. Occasionally you will see them last for a very long time while others come and go rather quickly. It can be interesting to see how different title reigns go in various ways and now another one has come to an end after a few unique twists with everything involved. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Get Your Bids In: AEW Star’s Contract Reportedly Up Soon, WWE Interested Over the weekend at Revolution, Wardlow defeated Samoa Joe to win the TNT Title for the second time. Wardlow then went on to defend the title against Powerhouse Hobbs this week on Dynamite after Hobbs won the Face of the Revolution ladder match to earn a title shot. Hobbs went on to win the title with the help of QT Marshall, winning his first title in AEW. The loss ends Wardlow’s reign at three days, the shortest in the title’s history. This was a big deal. Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Wrestlemania XXIX Date: April 7, 2013 Location: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey Attendance: 80,676 Commentators: Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler, John Bradshaw Layfield It’s Rock vs. John Cena II and I don’t think you need to hear anything else about the main event. With that match out of the way, the biggest name left is the Undertaker, who will be facing CM Punk in a match that might have been better had it been for the title. This time it’s personal though, as Paul Bearer had recently passed away, leaving ..
He’s worth something! Stables have been one of the most important recurring concepts in wrestling as they solve multiple problems at once. Above all else, it can allow wrestlers to get on television a bit more, as instead of short spots from individual people, they can appear together for longer stretches. Now a legend wants to join one of the most prominent modern stables. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Return: Vince McMahon Backstage At Monday Night Raw (With A Huge Change) Mick Foley has released his video resume in an attempt to join the Judgment Day. Foley lists off several of his career highlights, including a focus on his times flying off of Hell In A Cell. During the video, Foley also makes fun of Dominik Mysterio’s time in prison and includes an Al Snow reference. Thus far, Judgment Day has not responded to Foley’s offering to join the team. This is something different. Check out the resume, plus the two sides in action: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post c..
Now that is awesome. Wrestlers are a lot of things at once but for many fans, they are nothing short of heroes. You can find fans who absolutely love the wrestlers they cheer for every week and it can be a special moment if one of them ever gets to meet a star. That was the situation this week in one of the cooler things that you will see in wrestling for a good while. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: She’s Rowdy: Ronda Rousey Injured In Pre-SmackDown Brawl, Possible WrestleMania Implications This week on SmackDown, Rhea Ripley defeated Liv Morgan. The two hugged, with Morgan telling her that she couldn’t leave a fan crying out there like that after a match. Morgan also said when the girl turned eighteen, they could become the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. That was great. Check out the meeting, the match and one of Morgan’s best career m..

Wrestlemania VII Date: March 24, 1991 Location: Los Angeles Sports Arena, Los Angeles, California Attendance: 16,158 Commentators: Gorilla Monsoon, Bobby Heenan It’s the Gulf War show, as Hulk Hogan is fighting to get the WWF Title back from former American hero turned Iraqi sympathizer Sgt. That would have been different. There are several titles under the WWE banner these days and some of them are among the most important championships in wrestling history. Some of those former champions are quite the legends of the company and it means a lot for them to show up every so often. Now a current WWE star is revealing a plan he had to honor one of those former champions. In a recent post on TikTok, Miz talked about a plan he had to drop the Intercontinental Title to the Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania. While he held the title, Miz wanted to defeat all former Intercontinental Champions at WrestleMania in a gauntlet lumberjack match. The Warrior would enter as a surprise final entrant and defeat Miz to win the title in short order. Miz said he tried to make this happen but could never pull it off. Warrior was a two time Intercontinental Champion, having held the title twice from 1988-90. This could have been different. Check out Miz’s announcement, plus the two champions fig..

That’s longer than expected. There are certain reasons that a wrestler has to be taken off of television at times and some of them are a lot more serious than others. Occasionally it is due to a health reason that needs to be addressed, meaning they need to go away for the time being. That seemed to be the case with a WWE star last year, but now things are getting a bit more complicated. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: They Have A Point: WWE Reportedly Very High On This New NXT Star Back in December 2022, Matt Riddle was written off of WWE TV by an attack at the hands of Solo Sikoa. So that’s what’s up. With so many wrestlers on the WWE roster, it can be easy for someone to get lost in the cracks. Sometimes a wrestlers will not be around for one reason or another but it might not be anything that bad. With multiple rosters throughout the company, there will be times when wrestlers jump from one to the other, which seems to be the reason for a recent absence. That’s a very long time. Injuries are one of the worst things that can happen to any wrestler as you never want to see someone put on the shelf. Unfortunately, no matter how much talent, experience or training that a wrestler can have, there is always the chance that something is going to go wrong. Monday Night Raw Date: February 20, 2023 Location: Canadian Tire Center, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Corey Graves We’re done with Elimination Chamber and that means it is time to get ready for Wrestlemania. The rules are the rules. The NBA held its annual celebrity basketball game this weekend, which was part of its All-Star festivities. One of the celebrities who participated was The Miz, who had a fantastic moment that suddenly turned into a disaster. The Miz, who was on Team [Dwayne] Wade, hit a half-court shot to potentially tie the game and send it to overtime, only to have it waived off because he released the ball after time expired. You can see the shot and the aftermath below: [This post contains video, click to play] From NBA.com: The second-most star-studded game of All-Star weekend wasn’t short on bling, fame, drama, or last-minute excitement Friday as the basketball weekend kicked off in style. It was the 2023 Ruffles NBA All-Star Celebrity Game and it was decided at the final buzzer — or not. WWE Superstar The Miz sank a half-court heave that was waved off, much to the relief of Team Dwyane Wade, which survived and beat Team Ryan Smith 81-78. The MVP of the game was ..
That could be bad. You never know when you are going to see an injury in wrestling. Someone can be in the middle of their match when something goes wrong and they get hurt.
