WATCH: WWE Star Joins Monday Night Raw Roster After Nine Month Absence

He’s new. WWE has a big enough collection of wrestlers that the company can split them into multiple rosters. That is the kind of wealth of talent that you do not see very often and WWE is mostly consistent with keeping each show’s wrestlers on their own roster. While there are exceptions, it can often mean a lot to have someone move over to the other show. Now it has taken place again, with a bit of a surprise. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: One Of Many: First Title Match Officially Set For WrestleMania 39 This week on Monday Night Raw, Rick Boogs returned to WWE TV, officially becoming part of the Monday Night Raw roster. Boogs defeated Miz in less than a minute and a half in his first match in nine months. The return came after Boogs suffered a torn quadriceps and patella tendon injury at WrestleMania 38. Before his injury, Boogs had been regularly teaming with Shinsuke Nakamura on SmackDown. Boogs should be a nice addition. Check out what is coming to Monday Night Raw: [This post conta..

The New Generation: Former WWE Superstar Reveals Scrapped Plans For New League Of Nations

They had an idea. Stables are a concept that has worked in wrestling for decades and continues to do so to this day. It makes a lot of sense as well, as a stable allows several people with anywhere from identical to even somewhat related goals a chance to be on television together. WWE has used them for years, but there was one reincarnation that they passed on instead. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: VIDEO: Kurt Angle’s Huge Birthday Celebration Continues After SmackDown Ends Back in 2015, a group of international stars joined forces as the League Of Nations. The team, comprised of Wade Barrett, Rusev, Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio, were a force in WWE until April 2016 when they split up for good. During an appearance on the 10 Count podcast, former WWE Superstar Mojo Rawley revealed that WWE had considered relaunching the League Of Nations with Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura and himself. Rawley did not say when this would have taken place or how far along the plans went. Rawley’s role in the group..

WWE Places Restrictions On Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Great Muta Pro Wrestling Noah Match

There are catches. WWE is the biggest wrestling company in the world but they are not the only option out there. In addition to WWE, there are all kinds of wrestling promotions around the world that have quite the followings of their own. Those companies are able to offer major matches, but in this case WWE is working with one of the other promotions. There just happen to be some special rules to follow. It was recently announced that WWE’s Shinsuke Nakamura would be facing Great Muta at the January 1, 2023 Pro Wrestling Noah event as part of Nakamura’s retirement tour. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the match is being allowed to take place, but with certain restrictions. While Pro Wrestling Noah is allowed to create the hype video and match graphics, but they are not allowed to mention WWE anywhere outside of Japan or in anything written in English. There is no word on if WWE will promote the match. Opinion: This is one of those things that probably has some busines..

Crown Jewel Date: November 2, 2018 Location: King Saud University, Stadium, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Renee Young We’re back on the other side of the world this time and things aren’t exactly going well. The focal point of the show is D-Generation X vs. the Brothers of Destruction with Shawn Michaels coming out of retirement in a detail that has been forgotten in the whole ordeal. Other than that we’re going to have a new Universal Champion today as Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar face off for the title vacated by Roman Reigns. Let’s get to it. The video screen is in the shape of a crown for a nice touch. Kickoff Show: United States Title: Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Rusev Nakamura is defending. Rusev throws him into the corner for some right hands and a shoulder to the ribs, followed by a suplex for one. A kick to the knee cuts Rusev down and we hit the front facelock. That stays on for a good while until Rusev pops up with a spinwheel kick. The Mach..

SmackDown Star Makes Surprise NXT Appearance (And He Could Be Sticking Around)

There is a place for him. WWE has a lot of talent but there is only so much time to put that talent on television. It can be difficult to come up with something for everyone to do and sometimes the best answer is to move them to another show for a change. Having three shows helps WWE quite a bit and now it seems that one star might be going to another of those shows. Shinsuke Nakamura appeared on this week’s edition of NXT as a surprise, defeating Stacks of the D’Angelo Family. It was Nakamura’s first televised match since the August 26 SmackDown. According to Fightful Select, and prior to the appearance, there had been discussion in WWE about Nakamura appearing for NXT. It is not clear if this will be a one off appearance or a permanent, or even semi-permanent, move. Opinion: This is one of those situations where we’ll have to wait and see what happens but Nakamura going back to NXT, even for a bit, could be interesting. Nakamura is an NXT legend and doesn’t have anything going on u..

Huge Title Match Takes Place After This Week’s SmackDown

To wrap things up. There are a lot of things taking place at any given WWE television taping. While you have the main focus with the television show, there are other matches going on throughout the night. This includes matches taped for later, but there are also matches just for the live crowd. That was the case after this week’s SmackDown went off the air. As noted on Twitter, a title match took place after this week’s SmackDown. Following the show, Gunther successfully defended his Intercontinental Title against Shinsuke Nakamura. After the match was over, Nakamura hit Gunther with a Kinshasa to send the fans home happy. Both Gunther and Nakamura appeared on the show, with Gunther and Imperium beating down Sheamus, while Nakamura appeared in a backstage segment with the Maximum Male Models. @sherantsmtl And that's the last one, Gunther wins, but Nakamura does a Kinshasa to clear him out, and that's a goodnight for everyone. pic.twitter.com/AGtL7aTzng — Richard Lee (@Suza..

WATCH: Stacked Match Takes Place After This Week’s SmackDown

The night isn’t over. With so many talented stars on the WWE roster, it can be difficult to figure out how to get a lot of people on television. Even with five hours of main roster television time to fill every week, there are still wrestlers who are not on the show. While it might not be the same, there is still the chance to wrestle after the cameras go off and six wrestlers got to do that this week. Following this week’s edition of SmackDown, the team of Shinsuke Nakamura and the Street Profits defeated Imperium in a post-show dark match. Nakamura pinned Ludvig Kaiser after Kinshasa to win the match. All six appeared on the SmackDown broadcast, but none of them wrestled. Nakamura and the Street Profits appeared in multiple backstage segments while Imperium interfered in the main event. It was a big match. Check out the showdown after SmackDown went off the air: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is the kind of thing that works well for a special post show m..

Monday Night Raw Results – June 27, 2022

Monday Night Raw Date: June 27, 2022 Location: Sames Auto Arena, Laredo, Texas Commentators: Corey Graves, Byron Saxton, Jimmy Smith It’s a very special night as John Cena is here to celebrate twenty years (to the day) of his WWE debut. That should be enough to carry the night and that might need to be the case. This is also the go home edition of Raw for Money In The Bank, meaning it’s time to build momentum, establish dominance, and maybe even come up with an original tagline for what the participants are doing. Let’s get to it. Earlier today, John Cena returned to quite the hero’s welcome, meeting a bunch of applauding wrestlers and backstage workers. Money In The Bank Qualifying Match: Battle Royal T-Bar, Mustafa Ali, Shanky, Akira Tozawa, Rey Mysterio, Dominik Mysterio, Ricochet, Shinsuke Nakamura, Jinder Mahal, Riddle, Miz, AJ Styles, Ciampa, Reggie, Shelton Benjamin, Dolph Ziggler, R-Truth, Veer Mahaan Tozawa is tossed out fast and Mahaan clotheslines Benjamin out. The Myste..

REVIEW: Money In The Bank 2018: Climbing For Fun And Profit

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Money in the Bank 2018 Date: June 17, 2018 Location: Allstate Arena, Rosemont, Illinois Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Tom Phillips, Jonathan Coachman, Byron Saxton It’s finally time to get to what WWE seems to think is the most important show of the year, at least based on how much they promote it. Tonight we find out who might be cashing in to get a cheap World Title reign at any point in the next year. Other than that we have AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura V in a Last Man Standing match. Let’s get t..

Maybe Later: WWE Makes Strange Decision For Future Usos Tag Team Title Defense

Not so fast? We are less than three days away from WWE Hell In A Cell and the card is not quite finished. So far there are only six matches set for the show and that leaves a few spots left to fill. There are also currently no SmackDown wrestlers on the show, which means WWE might be needing to add some in. Now we might know some more names who are not expected for the show. This week on Monday Night Raw, Riddle and Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Champions the Usos in a Champions Contenders match. As a result, Riddle and Nakamura will receive a shot at the titles at some point in the future. However, according to Wrestling Observer Radio, the title match is expected to be held at Money In The Bank rather than Hell In A Cell. As a result, the expected Riddle vs. Roman Reigns match at Money In The Bank is not likely taking place either. Opinion: This is the latest decision that makes me wonder what the heck WWE is thinking these days. Not only are we supposed to ..

SmackDown Live Coverage And Results – April 22, 2022

Smackdown Date: April 22, 2022 Location: MVP Arena, Albany, New York Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee We are less than two weeks away from Wrestlemania Bakclash and it is time to start adding some things to the card. Roman Reigns still doesn’t have anything to do, though there is still the chance that they pick up whatever they stared with Shinsuke Nakamura two weeks ago. Let’s get to it. We open with the contract signing between Charlotte and Ronda Rousey with Adam Pearce in charge. After a recap video of their issues together….there is no contract. Drew Gulak brings it out and has even made a special PowerPoint presentation (it was his thing when he was on 205 Live) about the rules of an I Quit match but Charlotte tells him to shut up. She has been looking forward to this match for a long time and lists off some of the ways she can make Rousey submit. Charlotte signs and says she beat Rousey at Wrestlemania. Rousey explains the idea, allowing Charlotte to say she won at Wres..

Acknowledged: Update On WWE’s Future Plans For Roman Reigns

Like it could be anyone else. There are certain WWE wrestlers who are able to reach heights that few others can achieve. These wrestlers become the faces of the company and that makes them some of the true legends of WWE. You don’t see very many of them, but we are seeing one of them today. Therefore, it should be no surprise when he gets to headline a show and that is likely to be the event again soon. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Roman Reigns is still expected to headline WrestleMania Backlash, despite not yet having a program for the May 8 event. Reigns, the reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, will likely get a new opponent this week on SmackDown. Shinsuke Nakamura confronted him two weeks ago on the show but there was no follow up last week. Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise but it would be nice to think that WWE would pick up the pace a bit with setting up the story. It is going to take someone special to present a real challenge to Reigns and that is go..

SmackDown Results – April 15, 2022

Smackdown Date: April 15, 2022 Location: DCU Center, Worcester, Massachusetts Commentators: Pat McAfee, Michael Cole We’re back to the blue guys and now the build seems to be on for Wrestlemania Backlash. Last week saw Shinsuke Nakamura come after Roman Reigns to suggest that he is the next challenger while Charlotte vs. Ronda Rousey in an I Quit match is officially set. Hopefully we get some build towards those matches this week so let’s get to it. We open with a long recap of Roman Reigns sending the Usos after the Raw Tag Team Titles, setting up a pair of matches on Raw. Here are Raw Tag Team Champions Rated RKBro for a chat. We get a lot of posing before Riddle talks about how stoked he is to be back on Smackdown, especially with his best friend Randy. After going on about Worcester being the name for Worcestershire sauce, but it’s named after the one in England, not this one. He learned that off of a Snapple lid, but Orton cuts him off to get serious. Orton wants the Usos out h..

Road To Recovery: Update On Injured WWE Star

At least it’s a start. Injuries are one of the few constants in all of wrestling as you never know when you might see someone get taken out of the ring. That is never something you want to see and it can be even worse when they hit out of nowhere. An injury can cut anyone’s progress short and unfortunately that had happened again. This time though, we have a bit of an update. The opening match of Night One of WrestleMania 38 saw the Usos successfully defend the SmackDown Tag Team Titles against Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs. During the match, Boogs suffered an injury, later revealed to be a torn quadriceps patella. According to PWInsider.com, Boogs has undergone successful surgery and will be recovering at home. The expected recovery time for his injury is 4-6 months. Opinion: That isn’t good to hear and hopefully Boogs is back in the ring much close to the four month end than the six month version. Nakamura and Boogs were starting to get something together as a team and it is a s..

Rick Boogs Injured At WrestleMania 38; Update On His Condition

That’s not good. On Saturday night, Rick Boogs suffered an injury during Night 1 of WrestleMania 38. He was teaming with Shinsuke Nakamura as they challenged Jimmy and Jey Uso for the SmackDown tag team championships. WWE.com is reporting the following: After being carried off following his SmackDown Tag Team Title Match Saturday night, it was determined that Rick Boogs suffered a torn quadriceps to the patella tendon. Boogs suffered the injury attempting to perform yet another stunning feat of strength with both Jimmy and Jey Uso on his shoulders when his leg gave out. According to Dave Meltzer, this is a legitimate injury, and Boogs will be out of action for the foreseeable future. Early diagnosis on Boogs is torn quad. Hopefully it's not that bad. — Dave Meltzer (@davemeltzerWON) April 3, 2022 We will continue to monitor the situation and provide any updates as they become available to us. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in action soon! Editor’s Op..

WrestleMania 38 Night One Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

In the words of new WWE Hall of Famer Vader, it’s time. It is time for Wrestlemania XXXVIII and that means the card has finally (and I do mean finally) been set. We now know what to expect on each night and the card is…well it certainly exists. There are some interesting matches on both nights, though I’m not sure what to expect from the show. That can make it fun though so let’s get to it. Smackdown Tag Team Titles: Usos(c) vs. Rick Boogs/Shinsuke Nakamura Since the New Day is busy, the Usos actually need someone else to fight for once. That opens the door for Boogs and Nakamura, who at least seem like a team. How can you not be ready for a title match after doing Toyota commercials together? This should be good enough as Nakamura knows how to work well with anyone and Boogs is basically an ox with a guitar. I’ll go with new champions here, on the grounds of “well, someone has to beat the Usos.” They feel like they have held the titles forever, so let the new team get the belts off..

Monday Night Raw To Feature Several Guest Stars

It’s that time of year. We are less than a week away from WrestleMania 38 and the biggest WWE event of the year. The show is mostly set and we know who we should and shouldn’t expect for the card. Now that things are set, it is time to hype everything up as well as possible, and WWE seems to have a plan to do that next week, even if it means breaking some rules in the process. According to PWInsider.com, several SmackDown names are booked for next week’s edition of Monday Night Raw. This includes SmackDown Tag Team Champions the Usos, who have already been announced for a match against Raw Tag Team Champions RKBro. In addition, Intercontinental Champion Ricochet and Shinsuke Nakamura and set to appear, along with Sasha Banks, Naomi, Natalya and Shayna Baszler, who will be on opposite sides in an eight woman tag. There is no word on if any other SmackDown stars are expected to appear on the show. Opinion: While WWE has rules about Monday Night Raw and SmackDown starts appearing on the..
