Not A Fan: Former WWE Star Says Shane McMahon’s Matches Hurt The Business

That’s not exactly praise. There have been all kinds of changes in the wrestling world this year but the biggest has been the change in regime in the WWE. After nearly forty years of Vince McMahon being in charge, there are new bosses at the helm, meaning the McMahons no longer have full authority. Now one former WWE star has something to say about a member of the family. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: The Miz Fights A Cactus (And Loses) During a recent edition of his Cafe de Rene podcast, former WWE star Rene Dupree spoke about Shane McMahon, talking about how Shane’s matches would hurt the business. Dupree said that Shane only knows how to do stunts instead of wrestle a match, resulting in his stunts making it harder for wrestlers to get a reaction. Shane has been gone from WWE since this year’s Royal Rumble in January, allegedly due to backstage disagreements over how he would be presented. Shane does do a lot of things in the ring. WWE Announces New Tournament With Special Prize To The Winner

Get your brackets ready. Tournaments are one of the easiest concepts to understand in wrestling. You take a bunch of wrestlers, put them together into a bracket, and have the winner get some kind of a prize. The reward could be just about anything, which is why they can be so commonly used. Now it seems that we are going to be getting another one for something. This week on SmackDown, WWE announced the beginning of the SmackDown World Cup next week. The eight person tournament will begin on the November 11 SmackDown with the winner receiving a future Intercontinental Title shot. There were no other details given, including the entrants or date of the final. WWE has previously presented a World Cup tournament, with the one night event taking place at Crown Jewel 2018 with Shane McMahon winning despite not being entered. Opinion: Sure why not. Tournaments are an idea that often work rather well in wrestling and that should be the case again here. WWE does know how to run tournaments an..

New Report On How Unhappy Vince McMahon Was With His Son Shane

Call it an in the air future? WWE, and the wrestling world, have been shaken up by the retirement of Vince McMahon. Despite what you might think of him, McMahon was the driving force in wrestling for a very long time and what he said or did could change the industry in an instant. That was the case on both the large and small scales, which seemed to be the case with a popular name. Shane McMahon returned to WWE back in January at the Royal Rumble and was one of the final entrants in the match. Reports at the time indicated that Shane had suggested that he be a focal point of the match, which resulted in him no longer appearing on WWE TV. According to a new report from Fightful Select, Vince said that after the Royal Rumble, Shane “would never get another pop in this company as long as I’m around”, suggesting that Vince would not allow Shane to return to television. It is not clear if Shane will return now that Vince is out of power. Opinion: I’m not sure how long this decree would ha..

Check Him Out: Celebrity Teases WWE Match By Training In A Ring

It’s a way to get people watching. Wrestling has a long history of working with celebrities, including bringing them into the ring. This opens up a variety of new doors for both stories as well as fans, as you do not know what you are going to get to see or how a celebrity will do in the ring. That seems to be the case again at an upcoming show and there is potential for some success. Logan Paul has posted some photos to his Twitter showing him training in a wrestling ring, with WWE producer Shane Helms being visible in the ring as well. The photos appear to be from the WWE Performance Center, suggesting that Paul may be working with WWE. Paul has appeared for WWE before, including a match at WrestleMania 38 where he teamed with the Miz, who turned on him after the match. There is no word on a match between Miz and Paul at the moment. ? @wwe pic.twitter.com/wOVqSneTPr — Logan Paul (@LoganPaul) June 26, 2022 Opinion: This is something you probably saw coming as there was little reas..

Welcome Back? WWE Bringing In A Surprise Big Name For WrestleMania Weekend

He’s a big name. There are a lot of wrestling families but the most important name in the sport’s history might be McMahon. In modern times, there is no name that comes close to meaning as much, as the McMahon Family has run the most powerful wrestling company in the world. Seeing a McMahon doing almost anything is going to get some attention and that is the case again. According to PWInsider.com, WWE is bringing in Shane McMahon for WrestleMania weekend. There is no word on what McMahon will be doing, or if he is scheduled to appear on camera at any point. McMahon had been rumored for a match with Seth Rollins at WrestleMania and Rollins is currently scheduled to face a mystery opponent, though there is nothing to suggest that this will be the case. Should McMahon appear, it would be his first appearance since the Royal Rumble, as WWE sent him home due to backstage issues with how McMahon pushed to be used during the match. Opinion: I’m not sure if McMahon is going to appear, but ju..

Dustin fights back up and knocks him outside, only to miss the flip dive off the apron. Back in and Dustin is bleeding from the ear, with the blood on Archer’s hands for a good visual. A twisting middle rope splash gives Archer two and we take a break..

WWE Legend Returning To The Company Under New Deal

He’ll be sticking around. There are all kinds of wrestlers on the WWE roster and some of them have some rather distinct purposes. While most people signed are active wrestlers, there are others who are there more as a way to help promote the company. These are names you might remember from years past, and now you might be hearing from another one more often. Hurricane Helms, also known as the Hurricane, has announced that he has signed a Legends Deal with WWE, tweeting that it officially makes him old. Helms has worked for WWE on and off over the years, both as a wrestler and as an agent. He last wrestled for WWE in the 2021 Royal Rumble and has otherwise retired from in-ring competition. Helms does still make occasional cameo appearances on WWE television. I signed a WWE Legends deal so I guess that makes it official… I’m old. ??? — Hurricane Helms (@ShaneHelmsCom) March 24, 2022 Opinion: It’s cool to see something like this happen as Helms is one of those beloved stars from yea..

WATCH: AEW Star Releases A New Music Video And Album

It’s something new. Professional wrestlers are very talented people but they do not always get the credit that they deserve. They are out there in a ring multiple nights a week putting on a show for the fans, but there is more to it than that. The training and effort that goes into getting ready for their actual matches is rather taxing, but some wrestlers are able to do something else entirely on the side. Now another star is showcasing his skills outside of the ring again. AEW’s Shane Strickland has released a new album on Spotify called Tears. The album features eleven songs, with one including a guest appearances by AJ Francis, who is better known as Top Dolla during his time in WWE. Strickland has also released a music video for the album’s title track. Strickland made his AEW debut earlier this month at Revolution and has since gone on to win his debut match. He is good at this stuff. Check out the video for Tears: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I’m not a r..

BREAKING: AEW Debuts Another Former WWE Star

Welcome to the house. There are some incredibly talented wrestlers on the AEW roster and that has been a major part of their success. The company has managed to bring in a variety of wrestlers who have not gotten a chance elsewhere, allowing for quite a few fresh matches. Now they may be doing that again with a former WWE star who was released before getting his real shot. During this weekend’s AEW Revolution pay per view, Shane “Swerve” Strickland made his debut and officially signed his contract with the company. This comes after Strickland had been rumored to sign with the company over the last several weeks. There is no word on when Strickland will debut. Strickland wrestled for WWE under the name Isaiah Scott before being released less than a month after being called up to the main roster from NXT. Opinion: This isn’t exactly a surprise as it has been rumored for a few weeks now but it is absolutely a nice thing to see. Strickland should have been a much bigger deal in WWE but t..

Update On Three New Potential AEW Signings

They need to boost things up. AEW has done some impressive things in its short history and a lot of that has been due to its roster. The company has built up a mixture of veterans and younger stars to go with their up and coming wrestlers. That is quite the setup to put together and now they seem ready to bring in even more. Each of them just happens to be in a different state. Wrestling Observer Radio is reporting updates on three different stars that AEW is considering bringing into the company. First up, Johnny Gargano is not expected to make an appearance at any point in the next month or so and there is no guarantee that he is coming in whatsoever. The other two names mentioned are Jeff Hardy and Shane Strickland, both of whom are expected to be in “relatively soon”. Hardy’s no compete clause expires on March 8 while Strickland is already a free agent and could debut at any time. Opinion: None of these are exactly a surprise, but they would all make some form of an impact. Hardy..

Ring of Honor Date: February 23, 2022 It’s another Hall of Fame show and this time around we are looking at Samoa Joe. Vince McMahon Was Pitched For A Major Role In A WWE Story

That would have been a big one. WWE has a lot of television time to fill every week and that means there are going to be a lot of stories taking place on any given night. Some of these are going to be a lot better than others, with a few of them being near disasters. That was the case with a story from a few years ago, but there was almost a twist that could have changed everything. Shane Thorne, formerly known as Slapjack in WWE, recently appeared on the Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling podcast, where he discussed his time in Retribution. Thorne said that when the team was started, there was no word on who the team’s leader would be. The team pitched for various big names, from Edge to Shane McMahon and all the way up to Vince McMahon, as they wanted to be associated with a major character. Mustafa Ali was eventually revealed as the leader, though Thorne admitted that the team had already been beaten down by that point. Retribution was split up in March 2021. Opinion: This isn’t the ..

Since WWE Said No: AEW Bringing In Another Top Free Agent Star

That doesn’t sound like a swerve. The wrestling landscape has changed in all kinds of ways in recent years and there is nothing to suggest that it is going to change anytime soon. The biggest changes have come due to the massive releases from the WWE roster, as around two hundred wrestlers have been let go in the last two years. A lot of those wrestlers have landed elsewhere and now another is off the free agent market. According to Fightful Select, Shane “Swerve” Strickland will be joining AEW. This comes after Strickland, also known as Isaiah Scott, was released from WWE in November 2021. There is no word on when he will be making his AEW debut. Since leaving WWE, Strickland has wrestled a pair of matches with one match each for Progress Wrestling and New Japan Strong. Opinion: This is a signing that was more a matter of time than a question of where Strickland was going to sign. I still have no idea what WWE was thinking when they let Strickland (and the rest of Hit Row) go but th..

Former WWE Group Reuniting On Independent Circuit

The band is back together again. WWE has been shaken up so many times over the last few years, with most of the changes stemming from the company’s releases. There have been all kinds of wrestlers released from up and down the roster and some of them have been more surprising than others. Some of the more surprising releases are still doing their thing on the independent circuit and that will be the case again on a big stage. AJ Gray, formerly known as Top Dolla in WWE and NXT, has announced that some of the Hit Row stable will be reuniting over WrestleMania weekend at GCW For The Culture. Gray will be appearing along with Briana Brandy (B-Fab) and Tehuti Miles (Ashante Thee Adonis) though it is not clear what the trio will be doing. The team, along with Shane Strickland, was released from WWE in November 2021.. Time to make some hits! AEW Might Be Bringing In Three More Former WWE Stars

Welcome to the fold? There are certain things in wrestling that get your attention in a hurry and one of the best things is seeing someone come over from another promotion. This can make for some great moments as someone can make an impact straight out of the box after not being given such a chance elsewhere. That has been the case with several former WWE stars coming to WWE, and now we might be seeing it in three more cases. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, three former WWE stars are likely to come to AEW soon, while a third is a possibility. The two who are expected to be debuting soon are Jeff hardy and Shane Strickland (formerly known as Isaiah Swerve Scott in WWE). Buddy Matthews, formerly known as Buddy Murphy in WWE, maybe brought in as well, as previously reported. There is no word on when any of the three might debut. Opinion: Hardy is no surprise whatsoever and has been expected for a long time now. Matthews is a name that has been rumored as well in recent w..
