REVIEW Bound For Glory 2019: Their Big One

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Bound For Glory 2019 Date: October 20, 2019 Location: Odeum Expo Center, Villa Park, Illinois Commentators: Don Callis, Josh Matthews It’s the biggest night of the year and that could mean a lot of things this time around. The main event will see World Champion Brian Cage defending the title against Sami Callihan in a match that was made personal when Callihan attacked Cage’s wife Melissa Santos. In addition, we have Ken Shamrock returning to the ring to face Moose because….star power I guess? Let get to it. A ve..

REVIEW: In Your House #19: D-Generation X: The Stable Show

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? D-Generation X: In Your House #19 Date: December 7, 1997 Location: Springfield Civic Center, Springfield, Massachusetts Attendance: 6,358 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler Since the show is named after DX, it only makes sense that one of their members is in the main event. In this case it’s WWF Champion Shawn Michaels defending the title against Ken Shamrock who was named #1 contender for no particular reason. Seriously there’s nothing more to it than that. One night it was just announced that he would challeng..

The Rock Agrees To Be Involved With Impact Wrestling (Seriously)

Well that’s a little different. There is little way to deny that WWE is the biggest wrestling promotion in the world. While it might not be the most popular in some ways, WWE is still the highest level of wrestling from a business standpoint. There are other promotions out there though, and one of them might be getting involved with one of the biggest names in entertainment today. Even when he was still in wrestling, there was no hiding the fact that the Rock was destined for something more. He had all the charisma that you could ask for and made everything he touched look easy. That is not the kind of thing you are lucky to see once in a generation at most and WWE is lucky that Rock is willing to do some things with them from time to time. However, Rock might be doing something else with a rather different wrestling promotion. Earlier this year, Ken Shamrock was announced as the latest inductee into the Impact Wrestling Hall Of Fame. His induction will take place next month, so Sham..

Impact Wrestling Results – June 9, 2020

Impact Wrestling Date: June 9, 2020 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: Madison Rayne, Josh Matthews It’s a big night as we get to find out the future of the World Title. Last week Ace Austin won the #1 contenders tournament, which was rather odd as he beat someone who wasn’t even entered. Never let it be said that things go as you might expect around here, though that’s not necessarily a good thing. Let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Don Callis and Scott D’Amore aren’t sure what to do about the World Title situation. Ken Shamrock vs. Michael Elgin vs. Sami Callihan Shamrock and Elgin start brawling before Sami shows up, meaning the lights go out so Sami can show up. Sami sends the other two outside but gets pulled out of the air and driven into the apron. Shamrock is back up with a dive onto both of them but Elgin hits a middle rope dropkick back inside. Elgin sends Shamrock into the post and suplexes Callihan down for two. A hard whip int..

Impact Wrestling Results – March 24, 2020

Impact Wrestling Date: March 24, 2020 Location: Sam’s Town Live, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Don Callis, Josh Matthews It’s the final night in Las Vegas before we head over towards Atlanta for what is now the last set of TV tapings available. We’re on the way towards Rebellion and that likely means a lot more “show is canceled” graphics. It’s not like they have much of a better choice so it’s as good as they can do here. Let’s get to it. The opening recap looks at Sami Callihan being revealed as the Realityislost hacker and attacking Ken Shamrock, who had just been announced as the newest Hall of Fame inductee. Opening sequence. Willie Mack vs. Chris Bey vs. Acey Romero vs. Daga vs. Rohit Raju vs. Jake Crist vs. Cousin Jake vs. Trey One fall to a finish and the winner is the #1 contender to the X-Division Title. It’s a brawl to start and soon it’s Romero running over Bey and Crist on his own. A backsplash crushes Bey but a double missile dropkick puts Romero on the floor. That ..

Mauro Ranallo Confirms The Truth Behind His SmackDown Live Departure

Before working for NXT as a commentator, Mauro Ranallo was the voice of SmackDown Live. According to Ringside News, there may be a different reason to what other websites have claimed. Ranallo left the company after working with SmackDown Live. Many outlets, including ourselves at one point, suggested based off what we had heard that Ranallo had possibly left due to JBL. Ranallo was on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani to promote the Showtime documentary he was the focus of, where he opened up about what truly happened. Check out what he had to say: “I was on the road every week. You add MMA and boxing and kickboxing to it. The road travel destroyed me. So, rumors and all this other stuff, what happened, honestly — and Ariel, you know how honest I’ve been in this thing — I had a breakdown in the Chicago O’Hare airport on my way to Pittsburgh to do SmackDown Live. And again, Frank Shamrock — God bless him — Bas Rutten, man. Guys who fought each other are my biggest supporters. But, I ha..
