Welcome back? The Royal Rumble is taking place this weekend and that means it is the season for returning wrestlers. The question about the show’s namesake matches is who will be showing up after not being around for a long time. That can make for some interesting guesses, but now we have a good idea of two more stars who are making their returns. Backstage Updates on Potential Future WWE Returns

Might we see more? One of the defining traits of the Triple H era of WWE has been the return of several superstars that were released when Vince McMahon was in charge of the company. It would appear that more may be on the way. According to a report from Fightful Select, Chelsea Green has been under contract with WWE “for quite some time and is still awaiting creative.” This was after she was released from the company on April 15, 2021. Another indication that Green was headed to WWE was her recently shutting down her Onlyfans page. Green’s husband Matt Cardona, who competed as Zack Ryder in WWE, could be on his way back also; however, officials say that “Cardona is not signed, but that we shouldn’t rule anything out for the future.” Finally, Kylie Rae is reportedly still a free agent despite being brought in for a tryout and appearing on WWE Main Event. Editor’s Opinion: I, for one, would love to see Chelsea Green back. I always thought that she was incredibly talented and didn’t..

One More Run? 37 Year Old Former WWE Star Likes Idea Of Facing Roman Reigns At WrestleMania

Maybe it’s him. Roman Reigns has dominated WWE over the last two years, holding the Universal Championship since August 2020. During his reign, Reigns has dominated the WWE roster and there have been very few people who have bee able to give him a run for his money. That leaves some former WWE names interested in trying their luck, and now another is interested in giving it a shot. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Star Power: Former WWE Writer Reveals Discussed Jimmy Fallon WrestleMania Segments Former WWE star Matt Cardona, formerly known as Zack Ryder, posted a tweet asking what he should do in 2023. The RetroMania Wrestling Twitter account replied with an image of Cardona facing Reigns at WrestleMania 39, with Cardona liking the post. Cardona has discussed returning to WWE at some point in the future, though there is nothing to suggest that a return is imminent or even officially being negotiated. 2020…Got Fired 2021…Reinvented Myself 2022…Made the indies my bitch 2023…?!?!?! — Matt Card..

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Interested In Bringing Back These Former Champions

Two more on the list? There have been all kinds of wrestlers returning to WWE in recent months and those returns might continue taking place for a little while to come. Several names are interested in working for the new regime and there are some who are in contact with WWE. Now it seems the company is at least interested in having two more former names return. New reports are suggesting that a pair of former champions are either on their way back to WWE or at least on the company’s radar. According to Ringsidenews.com, WWE is interested in possibly bringing back Matt Cardona, formerly known as Zack Ryder. There is no word on if Ryder is interested in returning to the company. Second, also according to Ringsidenews.com, a member of WWE’s creative teams “would bet” that Bronson Reed, also known as Jonah, will be back before other WWE stars. Reed is a former NXT North American Champion, was released in 2021 but it is not clear if he is interested in returning either. These two have bee..

Former WWE Star: “I’m Responsible For AEW”

Call it an assist? The rise of AEW has changed the way the wrestling world in a huge way. Rather than being dominated by WWE, the industry now has another style in AEW, which presents wrestling in a bit of a different way. That way was developed by a few different names coming together, but now another wrestling star is laying claim to coming up with the story that AEW is known for using. During an interview with Not Sam Wrestling, former WWE and AEW star Matt Cardona (better known as Zack Ryder) said that his previous efforts led to the rise of AEW and Being The Elite. Cardona said that his Z! True Long Island Story show caused the creation of Being The Elite, which led to the formation of AEW. Z! True Long Island Story debuted in February 2011 and ended in January 2013 after 100 episodes. Cardona wrestled a pair of matches with AEW in 2020. Opinion: It might sound like a big exaggeration but at the end of the day, Cardona did something that led to a major development in wrestling. ..

Matt Cardona On Possible WWE Return: “Always Ready For Any Opportunity”

He’d take a call. There have been a lot of returns to WWE over the last few months and a lot of that has been credited to the new regime in charge of the company. As a result of Vince McMahon losing power in the company, some wrestlers who have left the company have been willing to consider a return. Now another company might be interested should the right offer come up. During a new interview with Metro, Matt Cardona, formerly known as Zack Ryder during his time in WWE, said that while he does not want to return to WWE, he would be willing to take a phone call. Cardona said that right now, he is focused on having the most fun and making the most money possible. However, he does want to wrestle in Madison Square Garden again and have another WrestleMania moment. In addition, Cardona issued a statement to Wrestling Inc., saying that he was busy with other projects but was “Alwayz Ready” for any opportunity. There is no word on WWE being interested in a Cardona return. Opinion: I don’t..

Surprise Title Change Takes Place Over The Weekend *SPOILER*

It was worth the wait. There are some wrestlers who do not last long in the industry for one reason or another. Maybe they do not like it or maybe they aren’t cut out for what they are doing, but for some reason it just doesn’t work. At the same time, there are some people who feel like lifers and eventually make it big. It can be a long road to get there, but the eventual win can make it worth the wait. That might have been the case this weekend. Matt Cardona, better known as Zack Ryder, won the NWA World Title from Trevor Murdoch Saturday night at the NWA Super Powerrr event, which will air next Tuesday. Cardona has been wrestling on the independent circuit as well as in Impact Wrestling since his release from WWE in April 2020. Since then, he has also won the Game Changer Wrestling World Title, defeating Nick Gage for the title in July 2021. I did it. Former WWE Star Reveals What It Would Take For Him To Return

Welcome back one day? The WWE releases that have taken place over the last year and a half have shaken up the wrestling world. That could be a good thing depending on your taste, as several wrestlers have been able to go somewhere else and show a very different side of themselves. One of the higher profile names has done just that but is still interested in a possible WWE return. Former WWE star Matt Cardona, formerly known as Zack Ryder, appeared on Busted Open Radio, talking about his time outside of the company. This has included time in Game Changer Wrestling and Impact Wrestling, both of which have featured Cardona in the main event scene. Cardona said that he would consider returning to WWE, though he would refuse to let go of his Major Wrestling Figure podcast with Brian Myers. Cardona debuted in WWE back in 2007 as half of the Major Brothers with Myers. The two went on to win the SmackDown Tag Team Titles before becoming Edge’s lackeys. Edge would go on to win the United Stat..

WWE Once Had Some Different Plans For The Intercontinental TItle

What could have been. Winning a title is one of the most important things that a wrestler can do in their career. It is a symbol that you have arrived and that the promotion you are working for sees something in you. There are a lot of titles floating around WWE these days but picking up some gold still means a lot no matter what it may be. One recently released wrestlers was ready to win something, but then plans changed in a sad way. Dirty Dango, formerly known as Fandango in WWE, was a guest on Insights with Chris Van Vliet and revealed that he was scheduled to win the Intercontinental Title. Dango was scheduled to win the title but was then suffered a concussion during a match with Great Khali. Rather than explaining this to WWE, Dango continued to wrestle and was concussed again during a match with Zack Ryder. WWE then found out that he was injured and pulled him off the road. Dango said he believed Curtis Axel went on to win the title, which took place on June 16, 2013, less tha..

Former WWE Champion Has Garbage Thrown At Him For Winning World Title

You hate to see this. Wrestling fans are some of the most passionate in all of sports. While their energy and enthusiasm is a wonderful thing, sometimes they go to far. This was the case this past weekend, and garbage was a part of it. Over the weekend, at GCW: Homecoming night one, former WWE and current Impact Wrestling star Matt Cardona defeated Nick Gage in the main event to win the GCW World Championship. Gage had held the GCW World Championship for over 100 days. During the match, Ricky Shane Page’s faction, 44OH!, ran in and attacked Gage. Former GCW World Champion RSP ran in to stop the attack, and he and Gage fought them off. However, it ended up being a ruse as RSP gave Gage a low blow allowing Cardona to hit the Rough Ryder on Gage to win the title. Immediately after winning the title, the GCW fans threw garbage and other debris into the ring, including pizza cutters. Cardona, who wrestled as Zack Ryder in WWE, ran off leaving Gage in the ring in disappointment and in disb..

VIDEO: Impact Wrestling Star Out 12 Weeks With Broken Orbital Bone

That’s never good. Injuries are something that can happen to any wrestler at any given time. Some of them are a lot worse than others and that can make for some terrible situations. What seems like a rather light or mild injury can be something a lot more serious, which seems likely to be the case again with a current popular Impact Wrestling star. This week on Impact Wrestling, the company’s doctor announced that Matt Cardona, formerly known as Zack Ryder in WWE, will be out of action for about twelve weeks due to a broken orbital bone. The injury took place the previous week when Brian Myers sent Cardona face first into a camera. It is not clear if this is an angle or a legitimate injury which will keep Cardona out of the ring. There is a bit more here. Check out the announcement and what took place after, plus Cardona at full health: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I’m not ..

Chelsea Green May Have A Serious Problem

That’s a problem. The WWE releases from earlier this month changed a lot of things in the company but it changed even more for the wrestlers involved. Losing your job is one thing but it can mean a lot more to some of the people. Some of them are going to be hurt by this a little bit more than others, and in one case it could cause quite the difficult situation in the short and long terms. In a new interview with Chris Van Vliet, former WWE wrestler Chelsea Green revealed that her release may cause her to have to leave the United States. Green is Canadian and needs either a visa or a green card to stay in the country. Another option is to get married to an American citizen and Green is engaged to Matt Cardona, formerly known as Zack Ryder in WWE. This should seem to be easy, but it is still not quite that simple. Green and Cardona are engaged but Green wants her family to come in from Canada for the wedding ceremony. However, the travel restrictions brought on by the Coronavirus pand..

Big Update On Zack Ryder And Curt Hawkins’ Post WWE Futures

So it’s over? Back in April, WWE released an unprecedented number of wrestlers, shaking up their roster in a bigger way than they ever have before in a three day span. Some names were not the most surprising, but others blindsided the fans as they were not names you would have expected to be let go. That made people wonder what was next for them, and now we know what is not next for two such names. Two of the names released from WWE were Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder. Those were somewhat surprising given that the two of them had won the Raw Tag Team Titles about a year earlier at WrestleMania 35. It was a huge fall for the two of them over the years year and ended a ten plus year run with the company for Ryder. The team was now gone from WWE and they may be gone for good. On Saturday, Matt Cardona (Ryder) took part in a live Q&A on his Instagram page. One of the questions involved him teaming with Brian Myers (Hawkins), which Ryder said would not be happening. The two of them did want ..

EXCLUSIVE: WWE Status of Jinder Mahal

This week, WWE experienced a mass layoff of both wrestlers and employees, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result of WWE losing an estimated $22 million due to canceling WrestleMania in Tampa, as well as losing additional millions due to the inability to have lice ticketed events, Vince McMahon made the tough decision to end the WWE careers of names including Drake Maverick, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins, No Way Jose, and others. WWE also released Kurt Angle from his position as a producer. I reached out to former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal to check on both his WWE status, as well as the status of his injury. Mahal stated that he is currently “cleared and waiting.” Mahal was last seen spending much of his television time chasing the WWE 24/7 Championship, which was a far cry from his ascension to the main event level just a couple of years prior. Mahal shocked the world by defeating Randy Orton at the 2017 Fastlane pay-per-view to win the WWE Championship, an..

Elimination Chamber 2020 Live Coverage And Results

Elimination Chamber 2020 Date: March 8, 2020 Location: Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Jerry Lawler, Byron Saxton, Tom Phillips It’s time for the show the company mostly forgot until the last second. Thanks to being sandwiched between Super ShowDown and Wrestlemania, this is a show that has received very little attention and the build has suffered as a result. Neither World Champion is involved here and the likely main event is a #1 contenders match to the Raw Women’s Title. Let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Viking Raiders vs. Zack Ryder/Curt Hawkins Ryder and Ivar start things off and it’s an early power display from Ivar, who throws Ryder all over the place. Hawkins comes in and gets the same treatment but a cheap shot from the apron lets Hawkins grab a suplex for two. Hawkins’ neckbreaker gets the same and we hit the chinlock. That doesn’t last long so Erik gets sent outside for a clothesline from the apron and we take a break..

Zack Ryder Is Featured In New Netflix Funko Pop Vinyl Documentary

Raw Superstar Zack Ryder is making headlines after he appeared in a very interesting Netflix documentary based on the Funko brand and its explosion into pop culture. Ryder has accomplished many things during his life. From becoming WWE Tag Team Champion to being a former Intercontinental and United States Champion. He has also become a well-known collector. Funko has released a documentary on Netflix. Titled “Making Fun: The Story of Funko,” Ryder is featured in two segments within the documentary, with other clips shown throughout. The WWE Unboxed host actually owns more than 500 Pop! figures alone, without including all the other geek memorabilia in his collector’s room. Ryder took to Twitter to mention his involvement in the film: #MakingFunTheMovie is now on @netflix! Check it out…you might even see me. ? The internet has been up in arms as they argue whether they can hear “Yanny” or “Laurel” in a clip that has surfaced online.
