The Battle Continues: WWE Interested In Star Who Appeared On AEW Dynamite

He’s on their radar. The introduction of AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works. Following decades of WWE dominating the industry, a new major promotion is now offering wrestlers another place to go. That can lead to some battles to land talent, and now we might be seeing that again with a very talented star who has recently appeared on AEW television. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Kingly: Great News On Jerry Lawler’s Health Following Stroke Earlier this month, AEW presented its annual Face of the Revolution ladder match, which included AAA star Komander. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE contacted Komander both before and after he took part in the match. While WWE did not offer him a contract, they wanted to bring him in for a meeting. There is no word on if the meeting took place or if AEW is interested in signing him. I’m not sure what that is going to mean as you never know what you are going to get on this show. One of the bigger matches announced is Konosuke Takeshita vs. Preston Vance in a match Takeshita could actually win. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Sammy Guevara vs. Action Andretti Guevara is more than a bit cocky to start so Andretti takes him down and starts hammering away. Andretti sends him outside and into the steps, setting up a dropkick and moonsault for two back inside. They head outside again with Guevara getting the better of things for a change. Back up and Andretti sends him outside again for a dive and we take a break. We come back with a midair collision leaving both of them down. It’s been a bit. AEW has done quite a few things in its short history and a lot of the roster has been turned over throughout the years. Some wrestlers who were around at the start have since left for one reason or another, though some have just stopped appearing. That is the case with a former champion, who has not been around for a very long time for no apparent reason. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Bryan Danielson Says It’s Time To Go Home, Walks Out On AEW TV Earlier this week, former AEW TNT and Tag Team Champion Scorpio Sky commented on AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman throwing a drink at a young fan at Revolution. Sky said that it was “the smallest d*** energy imaginable”. According to Fightful Select, Sky has not been at AEW events in months and has rarely been seen since losing the TNT Title in July 2022. Dynamite Date: March 8, 2023 Location: Golden 1 Center, Sacramento, California Commentators: Excalibur, Taz, Tony Schiavone We’re done with Revolution and that means it is time to start getting ready for Double Or Nothing. That show is only two and a half months away so AEW actually needs to put some things together a little bit faster here. Other than that, we have a lot of fallout to get through so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. All-Atlantic Title: Orange Cassidy vs. Jay Lethal Cassidy is defending and everyone is sent to the back to start. Cassidy takes him down with an armdrag but gets reversed into a rollup for two. Back in and Lethal counters the tornado DDT but can’t get the Figure Four. They go outside with Lethal’s shoulder getting posted before going back inside, where he crotches Cassidy on top. This week, Wardlow posted a video to Twitter, revealing that someone broke into his rental car and stole his bags. These bags contained all of his wrestling gear, from his attire to his boots to the TNT Title itself. There is no word on if AEW has another version of the belt. This is the second time that an AEW title was stolen, as the World Title belt was stolen during Chris Jericho’s reign. It was eventually returned by someone who found it elsewhere. That was rough. Occasionally a wrestler just needs some time away from the fans to get freshened up a bit and let something new come in. That can make for some very fun returns, and now we have seen a pair of them take place after it seemed that their time was done. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Other Side: MJF Allegedly Said He’s “Looking Forward To Being” In WWE In 2024 The Gunns retained the AEW World Tag Team Titles in a four way match at Revolution, defeating the Acclaimed, Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal, and Orange Cassidy and Danhausen. Following the match, FTR returned to lay out the Gunns. This was the first AEW appearance for FTR since January, as the team had said they would be taking time off until their contracts expired in April. AEW Revolution 2023 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

It’s Revolution and things are not exactly feeling hot coming into the show. The main event is a sixty minute Iron Man match with Bryan Danielson challenging MJF for the World Title, which means there won’t be as much time for the usual deep card this time. Other than that, we have Hangman Page vs. Jon Moxley in a Texas Death Match and Christian Cage vs. Jungle Boy in what seems to be a Buried Alive match. Let’s get to it. Zero Hour: Mark Briscoe/Lucha Bros vs. Ari Daivari/Varsity Athletes The Mark Briscoe vs. Mark Sterling and company feud continues for reasons I don’t think I follow. Briscoe also has some new friends in the Lucha Bros and that means we could be in for a new trio. The division could certainly use them, but for now they have to get rid of something like this, as AEW is giving them a nice spot to get their feet wet as a three man team. Of course I’ll take Briscoe and the Bros here, as there is no reason to suggest that Daivari and company will ever be winning anything..

This time around that includes the Face of the Revolution ladder match plus a Casino tag team battle royal to determine the fourth team in Sunday’s four way Tag Team Title match. So I guess he’s done? With so many wrestlers on the AEW roster, it can be difficult to figure out a way to stand out. The wrestlers are talented and there are all kinds of people who can do a variety of things, but only a few are able to connect with the audience in a special way. One of the more popular wrestlers with that ability might not be around the company for a little while. This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured a Face Of The Revolution ladder match with eight stars. Early in the match, Eddie Kingston and Ortiz brawled off with commentary saying they had to be separated. Following the show, AEW aired a video, showing Kingston being interviewed. That can take a very long time, but the big return is often worth it. Now we know when another star is going to be back after a long time away. Cole’s return will take place on the Dynamite before the premiere of AEW All-Access at some point in March.
