On The Road: 53 Year Old Wrestling Legend Details Efforts To Return To The Ring

That’s an amazing turnaround. You never want to see a wrestler get hurt as it can leave them out of the ring for a very long time. There are some incredibly serious injuries out there and some of them can take years away from a wrestler’s career. It can be quite the sight to see them get back in the ring and we might be on the way to seeing that with a wrestling legend. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: On The Bad List: WWE Star Reveals She Is “Beat Up”, Possibly Out Of Action Buff Bagwell was involved in a June 2020 car wreck that resulted in a variety of injuries, including a hurt knee. Bagwell appeared on Road Dogg’s Oh…You Didn’t Know podcast and revealed that if an upcoming test shows no evidence of infection in his knee, he can have a rod planted into it, followed by a knee replacement. If those procedures go well, Bagwell could return to the ring after he recovers. Bagwell, 53 years old, has only wrestled four times since his injury, most recently in October 2023. Bagwell has had a nice..

LOOK: 61 Year Old WWE Hall Of Famer Undergoes Major Surgery

That should help. Wrestlers work very hard in the ring to entertain the fans and put in quite a bit of physical efforts. There is almost no way to guarantee that a wrestler is going to stay completely healthy in any given match, but almost every wrestler has several built up health issues when their career is over. MJF Lands Major Role In Upcoming Biopic Film

It’s a different kind of role. Wrestlers have a complicated relationship when it comes to acting. While they are considered to be acting while on a wrestling show, they are also seen as only wrestlers. That can create a variety of issues, but occasionally a wrestler is able to land a more mainstream acting role. Now it seems that we are seeing another wrestler get an important acting role. According to Deadline.com, AEW’s Maxwell Jacob Friedman has been cast in the upcoming Von Erich Family biopic “The Iron Claw”. According to PWInsider.com, Friedman is will be playing Lance Von Erich, who was brought in as a replacement Von Erich. This is also why Friedman has been off AEW television leading up to Full Gear on November 19. There is no word on when the film will be released. Opinion: That is a major role for Friedman and even though it is a wrestling movie, it is still another foot in the door of some kind of a film career. Friedman is someone who can talk very well and the question ..

Kurt Angle Reveals Weird Side Effect From Major Surgery

Call it a benefit? While there are parts of it that are a bit different, the athleticism required in professional wrestling is right there with mainstream sports. The wrestlers you see are working hard every time they are in the ring and unfortunately that means they are facing the same risks as everyone else. Now one legend has an interesting story about fixing one of his injuries. Earlier this year, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle underwent double knee replacement surgery. Angle spoke about the after effects of his surgery on the Kurt Angle Show, revealing that he is now taller after the operation. Angle’s knees were bent from damage and the replacements have made him stand up straighter while also having his legs extend. Prior to his surgery, Angle said he looked like “an old man walking”. Opinion: That’s one of the weirder situations you’ll see in wrestling but it is great to have Angle so much healthier than he was in before. It would be great to have him able to walk normally agai..

Six WWE Stars Appear On This Week’s NXT

To the other show. There are all kinds of people on the NXT roster and their goal is to make it up to either Monday Night Raw or SmackDown. That is easier said than done as you need something to make it up to the next level. This time though, there were a few names who went the other way, as several main roster stars appeared on this week’s edition of NXT television. There were six main roster guest stars on this week’s edition of NXT. First of all, Byron Saxton served as a replacement commentator for Vic Joseph, who was married over the weekend. The Brawling Brutes also appeared, challenging Pretty Deadly for the NXT Tag Team Titles in the show’s main event. The Brutes were defeated, thanks to interference from SmackDown’s Imperium. Finally, Veer Mahaan appeared backstage and confronted his former partner Sanga, though nothing was said. Saxton and the Brutes were advertised in advance while the other three were surprises. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that I like to see happen ..

LOOK: Seth Rollins’ Unlikely Shield Replacements

The new wave? Stables are a way for a wrestling promotion to put stars together in a group and see what they can do. It has long since been a way to make things less complicated and some of the more iconic moments in wrestling have something to do with a stable. This is still the case in modern times and we got a strange call back to one of them over the weekend at a WWE live event. Over the weekend, WWE ran a live event in Bismarck, North Dakota. The show’s main event saw the Miz, Seth Rollins and Austin Theory team up against Kevin Owens, Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Lashley. During the match, Lashley was knocked down, leaving Rollins to lead his partners in the Shield’s fist pose. Lashley and company would come back to win the match, which served as the show’s main event. But now it’s turned into a six team tag match between with @fightbobby teaming with @HEELZiggler and Kevin Owens against @_Theory1, @WWERollins and @mikethemiz #wwebismarck pic.twitter.com/QJyFuT4Ttg — The Willster (..

Backstage Reaction To How WWE Is Promoting Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar At Summerslam

They aren’t buying it. WWE has a lot of very talented people on its roster and the company knows how to present a lot of them in a variety of ways. It is WWE’s job to come up with the most interesting set of matches that can draw the most interest and therefore the most money. One of the best ways to do this is to present a special match, which is what they will be doing later this month. However, not everyone completely believes what WWE is saying. The main event of this year’s Summerslam will feature Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar in a Last Man Standing match. The match is being billed as the last showdown between the two, but according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, several backstage in WWE do not believe that it will be the case. Some wrestlers feel that WWE will run the match again when they need to, partially because the match is taking place due to Randy Orton being injured. If Lesnar can be brought in as a replacement for Orton, he could be used in the future. Opinion: ..

Wrestling Legend Announces He Will Never Wrestle Again

That might be for the best. There have been a lot of wrestlers throughout history but only a few of them have reached the top level. Fans know the biggest names in history because they have left enough of a mark throughout their careers. That is the case with one wrestling legend, though he has announced that he can never wrestle again as the injuries have caught up with him. During an appearance on the Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle revealed that he will never wrestle again after double knee replacement surgery. As a result, he is not wrestling again out of fear of hurting his knees again. Angle said that while he is still in a lot of pain, he can walk around better than before the procedure. His final match took place at WrestleMania 35 against Baron Corbin. Opinion: Angle is one of the all time greats but it is nice to see that he has finally decided to hang it up. He has such a long history of injuries and sticking around through injuries th..

Bryan Danielson Makes Major Health Announcement, Update On In-Ring Status

That’s good and bad. Injuries are one of the worst things that you can see take place in wrestling. You never know when you are going to see someone taken out of the ring due to getting hurt and that is always a bad thing. That is the case again with one of the biggest stars in the world, but now we know a bit more about what is going on and that is a good thing. Bryan Danielson opened this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite and announced that he is not medically cleared to wrestle at the moment. As a result, he will miss Sunday’s Forbidden Door match against Zack Sabre Jr. as well as next week’s Blood & Guts match. Danielson did not give a date when he will be back but he did promise to return to the ring. He also promised that a replacement will take his place in both matches, with the same person wrestling both times. Opinion: That is not good to hear, but it is a situation that certainly could be worse. It is great to see that Danielson is still able to be out there and stand in the ..

More Details On Brock Lesnar’s WWE Return And Original Summerslam Plans

They had an idea. WWE is in a bit of a weird place when it comes to top stars. Roman Reigns has dominated the company for the better part of two years now and there is nothing to suggest that he has more than one or two serious competitors. WWE might have started to remedy that this week, though it turns out that it was not their original choice for the spot. The big surprise ending to this week’s SmackDown saw the return of Brock Lesnar, who attacked Reigns to end the show, setting up their Summerslam main event. According to Fightful Select, Lesnar was brought in as a replacement for Randy Orton, once it was clear that Orton would not be able to wrestle at Summerslam due to his back injury. Lesnar being brought in had nothing to do with the Vince McMahon investigation this week. Opinion: This isn’t the most surprising thing, but it does say a lot that WWE is so shallow at the top of the card that their options are either Orton or breaking the Lesnar glass. How can they not have any..

REVIEW: Money In The Bank 2021: Back To Normal(ish)

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Money in the Bank 2021 Date: July 18, 2021 Location: Dickies Arena, Fort Worth, Texas Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton, Michael Cole, Pat McAfee After Friday’s dress rehearsal, it’s time for the first show of any serious value in front of fans. The briefcases get pulled down tonight and it would not surprise me to see one of them get cashed in, as WWE is going to want to have a big splash going into the Summerslam build. A last minute replacement would not be shocking either. Let’s get to it. ..

VIDEO: WWE Hall Of Famer Undergoes Major Double Surgery

That’s a big one. There are some legends of the wrestling world but some of them are among the biggest of all time. It takes someone special to get to that level but you know someone who reaches such a point. Those names are some of the greatest stars wrestling has ever seen and now one of them will be feeling a lot better after some serious medical issues have been solved. WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle has revealed that he has undergone double knee replacement surgery and is ready to begin his rehabilitation process. Angle posted a video on his Twitter announcing the surgery and thanking fans for their thoughts and prayers. Angle retired from the ring in 2019 after working for WWE and Impact Wrestling, being inducted into both of their Halls of Fame. That could be worse. Check out Angle post surgery: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: That is something hard to go through but at the end of the day, it is going to be worth it for Angle. If nothing else, you can imagin..

Swap Him In: WWE May Be Planning A Replacement Tag Team

They have a plan for that. With so many wrestlers on the WWE roster, it can be easy to see someone fall through the cracks. This might be due to something that they bring on themselves but sometimes it can be due to something out of their control. That is the case again in NXT, but now WWE might be doing something to make the whole situation that much better. Last month, WWE released Nash Carter from his contract after a photo of Carter dressed as Adolph Hitler was posted on Twitter. As a result, Carter and Wes Lee were stripped of the NXT Tag Team Titles, leaving Lee with nothing to do. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Lee and Nathan Frazer may be paired up as a new team. The two were shown in a backstage vignette earlier this week, though it is not clear if they will be officially paired together. Opinion: I could go for the two of them being a team, though Frazer seems more destined to be a singles star. Maybe WWE doesn’t see enough in Lee on his own, but it would be nice to..

William Morrissey Debuts in AEW

The forbidden door continues. Tonight on AEW Dynamite, William Morrissey, known as W. Morrissey in Impact Wrestling, made his debut with the company. He served as MJF’s mystery opponent for Wardlow and would be defeated in his debut. You can see the video of his debut below: [This post contains video, click to play] Morrissey has been with Impact since April 2021, when he was revealed as the surprise replacement for Eric Young in Violent by Design’s match against Chris Sabin, Eddie Edwards, James Storm, and Willie Mack. He is best known for his time in WWE as Big Cass, which is a shortened name of his former ring name, Colin Cassidy. It is unknown at this time if this was a one-off appearance, or if he has signed a deal with the company. Editor’s Opinion: This was a great moment for Morrissey and I’m thrilled that he got his opportunity to wrestle in AEW. I always thought that he had a ton of potential in WWE and it was unfortunate that he was released in the circumstances that ..

RUMOR: Here’s Why AEW Pulled Stars From Upcoming Independent Shows

It takes priority. The rise of AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works in a lot of ways. One of the biggest has been allowing wrestlers to get a better chance to showcase themselves on a major stage. That is going to let those wrestlers land several bookings on smaller shows, but now that is not going to be the case with some wrestlers on an upcoming show. According to PW Torch, AEW has pulled a group of wrestlers from some upcoming independent events as they have changed a Dark taping from April 30 to May 1. As a result, Lee Moriarty and Skye Blue have been pulled from a Black Label Pro event and JD Drake, Top Flight and Wheeler Yuta have been pulled from a Pro Wrestling Guerrilla event. Both promotions have promised replacements. Unfortunately Lee Moriarty, Skye Blue and Jake Something will not be appearing at Fancy Wrestling next week. Updated matches and championship repercussions will be announced very soon. — Black Label Pro (@BLabelPro) April 22, 2022 Unfortunate..

Update: Bad News On Jonathan Gresham’s Health Status

That doesn’t sound good. An injury is one of the worst things that you can see in wrestling as you never know how long someone is going to be out of action. What can make it even worse is the kind of injury that is under the surface and has no real timetable to heal up. That is the case again with a current prominent star, and now things are already looking a bit worse. Earlier this week, Ring Of Honor World Champion Jonathan Gresham suffered a possible concussion in a match against Dalton Castle at AEW Battle Of The Belts II. The injury has not yet been confirmed, but Progress Wrestling has announced that Gresham will be missing his appearances for the company in the UK this weekend. The company did say that he will be back in action on May 15. There is no word on when Gresham might be wrestling before then. Regrettably, due to injury, Jonathan Gresham is not medically cleared to make the trip to the UK this weekend. Replacements will be named shortly for both #AtlasWeekend events. ..

Another Backstage Name Leaves WWE After WrestleMania

They’ll need a replacement. There are a lot of people who work together to make a WWE show work. While the wrestlers are the most obvious, they are also going to need some help getting things set up in the first place. That can be easier said than done but WWE has an experienced staff of people backstage helping. However, that staff is now going to be one person short. According to PWInsider.com, WWE producer Pat Buck has finished up with the company after WrestleMania 38. Buck helped produce Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte and Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, which was enough for him to feel that he has accomplished his goals. He is also leaving to spend more time with his family and working at his Create-A-Pro wrestling school and WrestlePro promotion. Opinion: This is something that happens a lot as you see the lineup of producers changing at a somewhat regular rate. At the end of the day, being a WWE producer is not the easiest job in the world as there are a lot of peop..

KB’s Review: The Hall Of Hall

I’m not going to bother suggesting anything else this week. Over the weekend, news broke that Scott Hall has suffered three heart attacks due to complications after hip replacement surgery. On Monday, Hall was taken off of life support and passed away later that night. Today we are going to be looking at some different parts of Hall’s career and what made him the legend that he is. We’ll start with the big stuff, and by that I mean what Hall could do in the ring. He was a bigger guy in the Drew McIntyre size range and could work against anyone from Bret Hart or Undertaker, making him a very versatile star. That is the kind of thing that let him do all kinds of things against a variety of opponents and that was the case throughout almost all of his career. That was on display with the ladder matches against Shawn Michaels, both of which completely paved the way for ladder matches for years to come. Hall and Michaels had some of the most amazing matches ever, with the first being all a..

The Wrestling World Pays Tribute To Scott Hall

The kind words. There are certain wrestlers who are going to make a bigger impact than others. This might be due to something that they do in the ring or on the microphone, but there is something about them that makes them stand out. Unfortunately sometimes these things are forgotten about until after they are gone, but now we are seeing someone who was praised in life being praised again after their time has gone. WWE Hall of Famer Scott Hall passed away at the age of 63 on Monday, following complications related to hip replacement surgery. Since then, WWE and some of its wrestlers paid tribute to him, and now more of the wrestling world has done so as well. Several wrestlers and wrestling personalities have sent out tweets in Hall’s memory, with many offering tributes to Hall. Here are some of the responses: Sad news… You will be missed Scott Hall ? pic.twitter.com/r4yZLjetub — TENILLE DASHWOOD (@TenilleDashwood) March 15, 2022 My family and I are saddened to hear of the passing ..
