That is going to include all kinds of special matches as the top stars come together for the biggest event of the year. WWE has already announced multiple matches for the card and will add another one this week, but things might be a little different on the way there. There have been all kinds of names announced, including some of the biggest stars in WWE history. However, three names who cannot appear caused a major change to the schedule. The ceremony was expected to include multiple members of the Anoa’i wrestling family. According to F4WOnline.com, the ceremony was canceled because multiple people scheduled were unable to attend. While the matches are ready though, there are still a few questions that need to be answered. One of the more wide open spots on the card is the Pitch Black match between LA Knight and Bray Wyatt, as we don’t know much about it. Now that has changed, at least a little. At some point, almost every wrestler is going to get injured at some point in their career and a change is going to have to be made. That is the case again as another AEW wrestler has been injured and had to be replaced in an announced match. This week’s AEW Rampage was originally set to include a rubber match between Penelope Ford and Willow Nightingale. However, during the show, it was announced that Ford was injured and unable to complete. As a result, Leila Grey replaced Ford in a losing effort. There is no word on how Ford was injured or how long she is expected to be out of action as a result. It allows WWE to get wrestlers ready for the main roster and then call them up at the right time. Sometimes they are called up as originally planned, but occasionally a change has to be made. That took place recently but for a very specific reason. Earlier this month, Legado del Fantasma made their main roster debut on SmackDown, attacking Hit Row. However, Elektra Lopez was missing, with Zelina Vega being with the team instead. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vega replaced Lopez because WWE felt that she was a better opponent for Hit Row’s B-Fab in future matches. That is the entire point of NXT as a developmental system, as the wrestlers are hoping to get to Monday Night Raw or SmackDown. It can mean a lot to get such a promotion, and now three wrestlers have, albeit with a surprise new addition to the ranks of their group. This week’s SmackDown featured Hit Row coming to the ring for a match, only to be jumped by the debuting Legado del Fantasma. The team, comprised of Santos Escobar, Cruz del Toro and Joaquin Wilde, was missing Elektra Lopez, who was replaced by the returning Zelina Vega. The team beat down Hit Row and then introduced themselves to end the segment. Legado del Fantasma left NXT earlier this year, while Vega has been out of action with an injury since April. While wrestlers are often getting injured, you do not see that many situations of a wrestler missing time from the ring due to illness. That seems to be the case at the moment with one of WWE’s most prominent stars. According to PWInsider.com, Drew McIntyre was pulled from a pair of live events over the weekend due to a bout of food poisoning. McIntyre is said to have forced his way through SmackDown and then been taken off the road to give him the weekend to recover. Commentary said that Evans was not medically cleared to compete, with Shotzi taking her place and defeating Aliyah instead. Former WWE Universal Champion Adam Scherr, better known as Braun Strowman, revealed that he was involved in a car accident earlier this week. It can be a lot of fun to watch a lot of them, but at the same time, those wrestlers have to be replaced at some point. Shake it up. WWE is in a strange period at the moment as they company has put almost everything they have behind one wrestler. That would be Roman Reigns, who is closing in on two years as WWE Universal Champion. That is the kind of thing you do not see happen very often and WWE is pushing the length of Reigns’ time as champion as a once in a generation deal. Now it seems that they have found a new way to extend it even further. As announced by Fightful on twitter, Reigns is no longer advertised for Hell In A Cell on June 5. The show’s original poster featured Reigns, but he has now been replaced by Cody Rhodes. This comes as Reigns has recently signed a new contract with WWE, which will allow him to work several fewer dates.
