The New Generation: Former WWE Superstar Reveals Scrapped Plans For New League Of Nations

They had an idea. Stables are a concept that has worked in wrestling for decades and continues to do so to this day. It makes a lot of sense as well, as a stable allows several people with anywhere from identical to even somewhat related goals a chance to be on television together. WWE has used them for years, but there was one reincarnation that they passed on instead. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: VIDEO: Kurt Angle’s Huge Birthday Celebration Continues After SmackDown Ends Back in 2015, a group of international stars joined forces as the League Of Nations. The team, comprised of Wade Barrett, Rusev, Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio, were a force in WWE until April 2016 when they split up for good. During an appearance on the 10 Count podcast, former WWE Superstar Mojo Rawley revealed that WWE had considered relaunching the League Of Nations with Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura and himself. Rawley did not say when this would have taken place or how far along the plans went. Rawley’s role in the group..

WWE Considered Bringing Back Surprising Stable

What could have been. There have been all kinds of stables over the years in wrestling and some of them have been rather popular in their days. Above all else, a stable can do well when there is a common theme between the members. Some of them are better than others, and the good ones are rarely rehashes of previous editions. WWE avoided making a similar mistake. During a recent Highspots interview, former WWE star Mojo Rawley revealed that WWE was considering a reformation of the League of Nations. The idea would have seen Rawley teaming with Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro while serving as the group’s mouthpiece. This concept never came to pass though and Rawley was paired with Rob Gronkowski for WrestleMania 36 instead. Around the same time, Cesaro and Nakamura were teamed with Sami Zayn as the Artist Collective. Rawley was released from WWE earlier this year. This could have been something. Check out the original team plus the potential members of the new version: [This post contai..

These Three Former WWE Stars Have Landed New Gigs

You have to do something else. Wrestlers are like normal people in that at some point, their careers are going to end. What makes things a little bit different though is the fact that wrestlers are often going to be retiring from the ring far before they are moving into traditional retirement years. They need something else to do and now several former WWE stars seem to have found at least a temporary something. Three former WWE stars have landed a new position outside of wrestling. First up, Adam Scherr, formerly known as Braun Strowman, will be serving as an analyst at the Mr. Olympia Power Arm Wrestling Championships on October 8 and 9. Next, Dean Muhtadi, formerly known as Mojo Rawley, has announced he will be the new co-host for TMZ Sports Monday thru Friday on Fox Sports 1. Finally, NBC has announced, by way of 411mania.com, that Nikki Bella will be serving as one of the judges on America’s Got Talent: Extreme, which will be debuting later this month. Honored to announce I will..

Former WWE Star Now Managing Wrestlers’ Careers

You need another career. Wrestling is like any other sport in that you are eventually going to have to hang up your boots and move on to something else. It is incredibly frustrating at times, but it happens to every wrestler at one point or another. Every wrestler is going to have to find something new one day though, and now one former WWE star has something rather unique in mind. In a new interview with Wrestlinginc.com, former WWE wrestler Mojo Rawley spoke about his new management company, which is helping many former wrestlers get various appearances. Rawley is currently working with EC3, Matt Cardona, Chelsea Green, Kalisto, Andrade and more. Rawley has not wrestled since being released from WWE on April 15, 2021, with his most recent match taking place on June 19, 2020. Rawley certainly had something going for himself. REVIEW: Clash Of Champions 2017: The Wrap Up Show

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Clash of Champions 2017 Date: December 17, 2017 Location: TD Garden, Boston, Massachusetts Commentators: Tom Phillips, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton It’s the final pay per view of the year and this time the focus is on champions. Well, at least some of it is as the rest of the focus has been on Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn vs. Shane McMahon, who has put together Randy Orton/Shinsuke Nakamura to fight for him. Let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Mojo Rawley vs. Zack Ryder They were partners who kept losing so Rawley turned on him...

WWE Superstars Receiving Special Honor This Weekend

Tis the season. Wrestling occupies a weird place in the middle of athletics, acting and celebrity status. That is the kind of place that a lot of people are never able to escape, but every now and then, a wrestler is allowed to see how far they can go in the mainstream sports world. It isn’t the most common thing in the world, but it tends to happen around WrestleMania season, which is the case again this year. WrestleMania brings a lot more eyes to the world of wrestling. It shows that there is a big market out there for wrestling, even if mainstream sports don’t pay attention to it all that often. Sometimes you’ll see a mainstream athlete cross over though, and this time around that is bringing some extra attention to wrestling, albeit in the form of a third sport. Well at least a simulation of one. According to NASCAR.com, Rob Gronkowski and Mojo Rawley will be the grand marshals for this Sunday’s eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series race. While there are no fans allowed into r..

WWE Superstar Jumps From Monday Night Raw To SmackDown

These people still have to move. The world has kind of come to a standstill due to the Coronavirus but WWE is managing to be one of the few entertainment businesses still moving along. That offers a little relief to some people and that includes being able to make sure things stay interesting. In this case, that means changing some things up to keep the company moving. That seems to be the case again this weekend. Over the last week, one of the bigger WWE stories has been the signing of Rob Gronkowski. While he has not officially signed with the company yet, it seems to be the likely case in the near future. That kind of a move changes the way things go in the company and it turns out that it is going to affect someone else. That move has already taken place and it was apparent on Friday. According to PWInsider.com, Mojo Rawley has been moved to SmackDown from Monday Night Raw. Rawley appeared on this week’s SmackDown to hype up Gronkowski’s debut next week, with the move being a per..

Rob Gronkowski to Appear on Smackdown Next Week

It had been previously reported that Rob Gronkowski has signed a deal with WWE to work with them in some capacity. All of those rumors will be brought to fruition, as it was announced on this past week’s episode of Smackdown, that Gronk will be appearing on next week’s show. You can see the official announcement below: Rob Gronkowski is set to roll through the March 20 edition of Friday Night SmackDown. The WWE and the former New England Patriot are currently working on a deal. Gronk emerged from the crowd at WrestleMania 33 to level Jinder Mahal and help his good friend Mojo Rawley win the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. Will the football star reveal his upcoming WWE plans and deliver a mic drop moment worthy of his patented “Gronk Spike?” Tune in to Friday Night SmackDown at 8/7 C to see Gronkowski’s latest sports-entertainment moment. Check out what happened the last time Gronk was in WWE: Editor’s Opinion: I like this idea, for a couple of reasons. First, it gives WWE access..

Welcome Back! Former Tag Team Reunites Before Monday Night Raw.

Good to see you again. This week on Monday Night Raw, Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode won a Tag Team Turmoil match to become the new #1 contenders for the Raw Tag Team Titles. Their title shot will come at Clash Of Champions against new champions Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman, who won the titles in their first match as a team. It is clear that WWE is paying attention to tag teams, which makes another development more understandable. According to Wrestlinginc.com, Heath Slater and Titus O’Neil wrestled in a match during this week’s Main Event tapings, defeating Eric Young and Mojo Rawley before Monday Night Raw went on the air. Slater and O’Neil teamed together as Slater Gator from late 2014 until early 2015 with little success. There is no reason to believe that this is anything more than a one off match instead of a full time reunion. They were kind of legendary. Check out one of their rather amusing promos, complete with a mascot: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinio..

Injured Former Champion Returns To Action On Saturday

Welcome home. There’s something very cool when a wrestler returns from an injury. You get to see them for the first time after what could be a long or short layoff and the question becomes how fast they can get back to where they were before. Or perhaps they’re even better this time around. Either way, it’s a fun thing to see and it was on display Saturday night. According to PWInsider.com by way of 411mania.com, Luke Harper returned to the ring from an injury in his hometown of Rochester, New York on Saturday night, defeating Mojo Rawley. This is Harper’s first match since October 1 due to wrist surgery that has caused him to miss several months. There is no word on when Harper may return to television or which show it may be on. Maybe a reunion is in order. Check out Harper’s time as a Bludgeon Brother: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: It’s nice to have Harper back, though with Rowan working with Daniel Bryan, I’m not sure what it’s going to mean. Maybe he can ..

Main Event Results – November 1, 2018

Main Event Date: November 1, 2018 Location: Spectrum Center, Charlotte, North Carolina Commentators: Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness, Percy Watson It’s the final show before Crown Jewel, meaning it’s going to be a lot of focus on that show, again without saying where it actually takes place. In addition to all that though, it would be nice if we could have something fresh for the original content, which has been the case around here lately. That’s a nice way to help the show going forward and hopefully it happens again here. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Titus O’Neil vs. Mojo Rawley They go straight to the power lockup to start with neither being able to get anywhere. Some right hands sends Mojo bailing to the floor and a dog bark fills in the time. Back in and Mojo gets in a shot out of the corner, followed by a hard clothesline. The chinlock goes on, and then the chinlock goes on again to keep things fresh. Titus fights up and drives him into the corner for a splash. Mojo is rig..

Fastlane 2018 Date: March 11, 2018 Location: Nationwide Arena, Columbus, Ohio Commentators: Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton, Corey Graves So this is a thing that exists for reasons that I don’t quite grasp. With four weeks to go before Wrestlemania, we have this stop for the final Smackdown pay per view before the big show. The main event is a Six Pack Challenge for the Smackdown World Title as there was no other way to break things up and add another match to a six match card. Let’s get to it. Here’s last week’s “Smackdown” if you need a recap. Kickoff Show: Tye Dillinger/Breezango vs. Mojo Rawley/Chad Gable/Shelton Benjamin Gable throws Breeze down to start and calls him a joke. Just don’t insult his shoes. Fandango comes in and puts on some amateur wrestling headgear, allowing Gable to take him down as well. It’s back to Breeze so Gable drops down to give him a shot. Breeze rides him like a horse and the good guys clear the ring in short order. Gable comes back in with a hard monk..
