Mic Time: WWE Star Set For Standup Comedy Gig

That’s a different way to go. Wrestlers are very talented people but they do not always get to show what they can do out of the ring. That can make for some very entertaining moments and sometimes it can be as good if not better than what they do on a wrestling show. Another wrestling personality is trying his hand at something outside of the ring and it could be worth a look. NXT’s Malcolm Bivens has announced that he will be trying his hand at stand up comedy at The Stand Comedy Club in New York City on May 5. Bivens tweeted out a poster advertising the event, which features quotes from Kevin Owens and Shayna Baszler, though there is nothing to suggest that the two will also be appearing. Bivens captioned the photo saying “if you’ve been praying for my downfall, now’s your chance.” If you’ve been praying on my downfall, now’s your chance. Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – April 12, 2021

Monday Night Raw Date: April 12, 2021 Location: Yuengling Center, Tampa, Florida Commentators: Adnan Virk, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton It’s the unofficial season premiere of Raw after the fairly awesome two night Wrestlemania. We’re in the new Thunderdome this week and that shouldn’t make much of a difference compared to the other ones. In theory this should be the big show with all kinds of things going on, but you never can tell these days. Let’s get to it. Bobby Lashley arrived earlier and Riddle immediately challenged him. Lashley doesn’t think so because Riddle lost to Sheamus last night. Riddle talks about wearing a tin foil hats because of aliens but Lashley turns him down again. That earns Lashley some quotes about how anyone can have a shot, so Lashley shoves him down and calls him a loser. The match seems to be on. Bobby Lashley vs. Riddle Non-title and MVP is here with Lashley. Riddle scooters to the ring so Lashley jumps him before the bell and the beatdown is on outside...

Rumor: Backstage Meeting Taking Place Between Brock Lesnar And WWE Before Summerslam

You mean they still don’t know? We’re almost to Summerslam on Sunday and that should mean that most everything is ready. There isn’t a lot of time left to add anything new as both the final Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live have aired. Therefore, it’s reasonable to believe that the card is set. However, it seems that there might be something up in the air backstage and it’s a pretty big deal. According to Barnburner’s Fired Up podcast by way of Ringsidenews.com, there is a backstage meeting planned between WWE and Brock Lesnar before Summerslam goes on the air. There aren’t any specifics on what the meeting will be about, but there is a possibility that it will result in Lesnar retaining the title and working with both the WWF and UFC going forward. Here are the quotes: “Apparently Sunday around 4 o’clock, Brock Lesnar will have a closed-door meeting with the head honchos, maybe Stephanie, Triple H, Vince, or whatever. I don’t know what that meeting’s about. But, if he retains the ..

Someone Please Tell Me Where the Smackdown Midcard Is

These last few weeks on Smackdown, there’s been a noticeable lack of superstars on the show. I’m not even referring to American Alpha.

“We used to be your tag team champions!”

You’d think that with the Money in the Bank ladder match coming up, the blue brand would want to use that match to help build up some of their lower players. There’s no reason that Tye Dillinger, Luke Harper, or even Aiden English shouldn’t be in the match. Even if management didn’t want them there, at least have qualifying matches and have those guys lose. As much as I hate to say it, Smackdown’s been recycling matches ever since Backlash. Some variation of the 6 men in the ladder match will fight, they’ll tag against each other, etc. Quite a few people have been missing action, and it’s a shame, because the roster is so talented right now.

The United States Championship Is on Lock Right Now

Did you know that Luke Harper and Tye Dillinger won their matches at Backlash? Crazy, right? What are they up to now? Nothing, that’s what. They could have very easily been put into a program for the United States Championship. You know, the title that’s meant for the midcard guys? Instead, Kevin Owens is in the ladder match, and the title will not be defended at all this Sunday.

After Money in the Bank, I’m sure Shinsuke Nakamura will go on to take the title from Mr. Kevin Owens. I don’t mind that. I’m cool with that. However, it is highly unlikely that Nakamura will spend his time defending the title against Erick Rowan or Aiden English. It’s not happening.

They don’t have to win the title. I get that. Not everyone can be a champion. But give the guys some exposure. Rusev defended the title against Kalisto, Zack Ryder, and Titus O’Neil. John Cena fought the likes of Stardust and Neville for the US title. The point is, these guys who aren’t being used need a purpose.

Create Engaging Feuds For Them

Tye Dillinger had something interesting going on with Aiden English. Dillinger would beat him, and English would cry. English would also sing a lot and Dillinger would interrupt and kick him in the face. That was something.

Erick Rowan was angry at Luke Harper for leaving the family. He had a whole bunch of masks, and it was sort of cool. That was something.

After Backlash, what happened to Luke Harper and Erick Rowan? Absolutely nothing. What happened to Tye Dillinger and Aiden English? Absolutely nothing. Apparently they’re trying to start a program between Luke Harper and Aiden English. But how is someone supposed to know that if it isn’t even televised?

One of the best parts of Smackdown last year was the fact that almost everyone had something to do. Heath Slater got a job. The Usos became thugs. Kalisto wanted to fight Baron Corbin. When Raw was struggling to use more than 5 people per show, Smackdown had something for everyone. Sure, the roster was thinner, but even with the current roster you should still be able to create engaging stories for everyone. Heck, that’s what Raw is doing right now. Who attacked Enzo? Who will join the Titus Brand? Even Goldust and R-Truth are battling each other via film quotes and vignettes.

Please, Smackdown. Make better use of your roster. It’s too talented to waste.

Ryback Criticizes Nia Jax’s Tweet About WWE Creative

On a recent episode of his podcast, Conversation with the Big Guy, Ryback let out his thoughts on Nia Jax’s controversial tweet about the WWE Creative. Jax had tweeted criticizing the red brand’s creative team by pointing out how RAW doesn’t use all it’s women wrestlers while its rival brand, SmackDown LIVE does.

The tweet was then quickly taken down by Jax herself as it was garnering a lot of attention and possibly made the creative look really bad.

Here are Ryback’s comments on the said issue : (quotes credit ewrestlingnews.com)

“Everybody is frustrated there, from top to bottom. She’s been handed a lot early on, in my opinion. It’s very early on to make a comment like that and when I saw that I totally understand it, like, if you are not on TV a couple of weeks is frustrating. With her character on TV, it’s not like they can just throw her in random. It could be a good TV that you’re not on TV every week. If you’re being booked for live events, who the f**k cares? You’re making money until they find something good for you, but when you go and make comments like that, there’s no good that comes out of that because it’s not like real sports where you control the outcome. It’s writers and Vince, they control your character and they can write her and job her out every week. She has to either go do it or not do it and get released, so she put herself in a real bad position by making comments like that on social media. It reminded me of that guy with Lord Tensai, Sakamoto. I remember there was Japanese heat for another Japanese guy coming on the roster, Yoshi had gone on social media and made a comment. If we were in UFC it’d be cool, you may have gotten yourself booked for a big fight and a big payday, but in pro-wrestling you can’t go on there and say that. A week later he got Jobbed out on RAW. That is what it reminded me of because no good ever comes out of it, but she’s young, so it is what it is.”

You can check out all our other podcast recaps from Jim Ross, Taz, Ryback and many more at this link.

Bruce Prichard Reveals the Reason Behind Big Show’s Inclusion In WWE’s Version of the nWo

On the latest edition of his podcast, Something to Wrestle With, Bruce Prichard revealed the real reason behind Big Show’s inclusion in the abomination that was the WWE’s nWo.

According to Prichard, the decision was made because Nash was injured and the company needed someone to work matches.
Prichard said: (quotes credit 411mania)

“It was so bad, [WWE thought], ‘Hey. We lost one seven-foot [giant], let’s put another seven-foot [giant] in there. And you replace one with another. And people won’t notice.’ You’re just trying to save something, and you’re trying to complete that vision. Sometimes, it just doesn’t work.”

Prichard also admitted that the idea wasn’t executed well and had “scotch tape booking” where in everything changed drastically in five months of that stable’s existence.

Austin Aries Says He’s Not Taking Time Off

While speaking to Josh Barnett of USA Today, Austin Aries addressed reports that he was taking time off from WWE soon. He explained that the quote from the interview he was featured in was taken out of context.

“If you look at the full quote and what I said was, Everyone is dealing with various stuff,” Aries said. “I don’t think there is anyone in the locker room is 100%. We’re all nicked and banged up to various degrees. Like anything else, you pick and choose the times you need address when it needs to be addressed and some times are better than others. I figure no matter what interview I do, the real good ‘journalists’ are going to find the completely irrelevant quotes that will drum up some controversy and stick it on their page to get some clicks and completely miss the real context of what the interview is about. That’s what we do nowadays and call it ‘journalism.’”

You can check out the full interview here.

Former WWE Diva Cameron Hopeful to Return to the Company

Former WWE Diva, Cameron has expressed her wish to return to the promotion in the future and also called it “definite”. Cameron was the former tag partner of current SmackDown Women’s Champion, Naomi. However, her last run didn’t work out and she was released by the company last year.

Regardless Cameron told Extra, that she is still on good terms with the WWE and would not chalk out a future return. Here’s what she said in the interview: (quotes by stillrealtous.com)

“As far as I am concerned WWE and I parted on good terms. I have no ill will towards anybody there. I am grateful for my time as a WWE talent. I appreciate all of the love and the hate I have received over the years from the WWE Universe. No matter what was said about me I appreciate their candour and their passion for the business. I would definitely love to come back in the future to show the WWE Universe my full potential. I like to say this isn’t goodbye but more like see you later. There will forever be a chip on my shoulder. Maybe one day I will be able to prove myself to the WWE Universe.”

Would you like to see Cameron back in action in a WWE ring once again?
