Monday Night Raw Date: March 13, 2023 Location: Amica Mutual Pavilion, Providence, Rhode Island Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Corey Graves We have six major TV shows left before Wrestlemania and there is still some work to do. Most of the matches and stories are already set but there are a least a few things that need to be finalized. There is a good chance that some of those will be covered, or at least addressed, tonight so let’s get to it. Here is Edge to get things going. He loves that kind of reaction from the crowd but wants to get straight to the point. Edge calls out Finn Balor so here is the full Judgment Day. Edge says that Balor’s request for a Wrestlemania match is on, which Balor appreciates. With that out of the way, Edge recaps the feud and says he doesn’t have time to deal with all of these people anymore. That’s why at Wrestlemania, he wants Hell in a Cell. Balor says Hell couldn’t handle his demons so they’re on for Wrestlemania. Judgment Day storms the ring and the..
Smackdown Date: November 25, 2022 Location: Amica Mutual Pavilion, Providence, Rhode Island Commentators: Michael Cole, Wade Barrett It’s the go home show for Survivor Series and we have a big time main event. This week it’s the Usos vs. Sheamus/Drew McIntyre for the WarGames advantage and what wouldn’t surprise me as a big preview for a future Tag Team Title match. Other than that, we’ll find out the final member of Team Belair, so let’s get to it. Team Damage Ctrl is in the ring to start and Bayley doesn’t want to waste any time. She wants to know who the fifth member of Team Belair is right now, so here is Team Belair in a hurry. Belair doesn’t waste time and introduces the fifth member of her team: the returning Becky Lynch. The brawl is quickly on, with Team Belair clearing the ring. Smackdown World Cup Semifinals: Butch vs. Santos Escobar The rest of their teams are at ringside and Zelina Vega joins commentary. Escobar takes him down fast to start but gets pulled into an armba..
Wrestlemania Backlash 2022 Date: May 8, 2022 Location: Dunkin Donuts Center, Providence, Rhode Island Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee, Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton it’s time for a pay per view that feels like it has been little more than an obligation as the show is six matches long with a number of title matches. Granted in this case that number is one but take what you can get. The main event is a six man tag for reasons that I’m still not clear on but maybe the in-ring work can make up for it. Let’s get to it. The opening sequence looks at Wrestlemania and how we got here. The post WrestleMania Backlash 2022 Live Coverage And Results appeared first on WrestlingRumors.net.
They’re up next. With WrestleMania 38 out of the way, it is time to see what WWE has in store for the future. They are going to have to start getting things ready for their next major show, which is only about a month away. That is easier said than done, but WWE does at least seem to have an idea of what they are going to be doing. At least they have some of the cast list ready. According to PWInsider.com, local advertisements for WrestleMania Backlash include Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, Ronda Rousey, Sasha Banks, Charlotte and Becky Lynch. The show takes place on May 8 at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. No matches have been announced for the card and there is no guarantee that these wrestlers will be appearing. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that might not mean anything in the long term but it is nice to see what WWE might have planned for the next month. If nothing else, seeing Lesnar and Rousey advertised at least suggests that the two of them will still ..
Monday Night Raw Date: November 1, 2021 Location: Dunkin Donuts Center, Providence, Rhode Island Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton It’s time to start the final two months of the year and we are getting them going in a big way with Becky Lynch defending the Raw Women’s Title against Bianca Belair. There is always the chance of a title change around Survivor Series time, as WWE might need to make sure that a champion doesn’t lose at Survivor Series by having them lose earlier. Let’s get to it. The opening video looks at Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair to set up the title match. Belair talks about how we got here and recaps her feud with Lynch. Her failures are opportunities to get better and now Becky is going to see what she can do. Lynch talks about how hard it is to be here and she might have even heard some booing. All that is going to do is inspire her. Women’s Title: Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair Lynch is defending and the trash talk is on in a hurry. Belair ..
Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Smackdown Date: April 13, 2007 Location: Dunkin’ Donuts Center, Providence, Rhode Island Attendance: 8,000 Commentators: John Bradshaw Layfield, Michael Cole We’re on the way to whatever the next Smackdown pay per view is and Batista wants his rematch with Undertaker for the World Title. That’s fine with Undertaker, but he isn’t cool with King Booker jumping him to end last week’s show. It sounds like something he is going to deal with sooner than later and that isn’t likely to go well for Booker. Let’s get to it...

Armageddon 2005 Date: December 18, 2005 Location: Dunkin Donuts Center, Providence, Rhode Island Attendance: 8,000 Commentators: Michael Cole, Tazz We’re almost done with the year and we’ll wrap it up inside the Cell with Undertaker vs. Randy Orton in the final blowoff. Other than that, it’s the Raw Tag Team Champions vs. the Smackdown Tag Team Champions as Big Show/Kane face Rey Mysterio and Batista. I think you can tell they’re wrapping the year up with that second big match. Let’s get to it. The opening video is ..
Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net, starting today. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Backlash: In Your House #28 Date: April 25, 1999 Location: Providence Civic Center, Providence, Rhode Island Attendance: 10,939 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler It’s the final show and not a lot has changed. We’re getting a few Wrestlemania rematches here as Austin is defending against the Rock again while Mankind is facing Big Show in a boiler room brawl. Other than that we have the fully heel HHH facing X-Pac in a match for revenge. For once, the name of the show fits the theme perfectly. Let’s ..
<p>AJ Styles just defeated Kevin Owens to become a two-time WWE United States Champion. With Styles looking to begin an open challenge, he will have many fresh challengers. One of these challengers will eventually dethrone Styles. Someone will dethrone the one who dethroned Styles. So on and so forth.</p><p>Who will be the next person to hold United States gold? Who will become a champion soon? Only time will tell, but here are some bold predictions. Who will become a United States champion before 2017 ends?</p><h4>3. Kevin Owens</h4><p></p><p>Styles is supposed to defend his championship next week on Smackdown. Given WWE’s recent fascination with nonsensical booking decisions, expect Owens to regain the title and become a four-time US Champion.</p><p>The match, if it’s anything like their last few matches, will be a mostly okay match. It will be good for a TV match. Eventually, though, some weird booking decision will work in Kevin Owens’ favor. Maybe the referee won’t see a weapon shot, or won’t see a rope break. Maybe Kevin Owens will pick up the whole announce table and hit AJ with it and the referee won’t know if he should disqualify Owens. At the end of a hard-fought match, though, Owens will walk away with the gold.</p><p>The next week, he’ll cut a promo saying he’s hosting an open challenge. Styles will answer, and Owens will deny him. Either Daniel Bryan or Shane McMahon will book the match for the following week, because ratings or something. Whatever. Styles will get his rematch.</p><p>What will happen after Styles gets his rematch? It’s easy.</p><h4>2. AJ Styles</h4><p></p><p>At the rematch, AJ Styles will channel the strength of his home state of Georgia. With the weight of 10 million people squarely on his shoulders, Styles will vanquish that dastardly Canadian Kevin Owens and become a three-time United States champion. Ideally, the match would be a no holds barred street fight. The Atlanta Falcons will all be at ringside (despite the show being held in Providence, Rhode Island), and they’ll all attack Kevin Owens. Then the Montreal Canadiens will show up and attack the Falcons. Styles will then perform a Styles Clash to Kevin Owens off the top rope, outside the ring, and onto both teams, who are conveniently brawling near the turnbuckle. Amidst all the strewn bodies at ringside, Styles will roll Owens’ lifeless body into the ring and get the three-count.</p><p>Next week, AJ will announce that he’s holding an Open Challenge. John Cena will answer, because reasons. Kevin Owens will also appear, along with Jinder Mahal. They’ll have a tag team match, and Owens will face Styles at Summerslam for the United States Championship.</p><p>What happens at Summerslam? I think you know.</p><h4>1. Kevin Owens</h4><p></p><p>At Summerslam, Kevin Owens will defeat AJ Styles in a 60-minute 6-pack Iron Man Elimination match that will also feature <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/sami-zayn" title="Sami Zayn">Sami Zayn</a></strong>, <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/tye-dillinger" title="Tye Dillinger">Tye Dillinger</a></strong>, <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/aiden-english" title="Aiden English">Aiden English</a></strong>, and Mike Kannelis. Owens will eliminate Styles by fighting with the weight of 35 million people on his shoulders. Styles will be fighting with the weight of 323 million people on his shoulders, but since his burden is heavier, Owens capitalizes on that and wins.</p><p>Owens will once again proclaim that he will be hosting an open challenge. Styles will demand a match, but Owens will deny him, saying he’s fought him too many times. Styles moves to the back of the line, and Kevin Owens faces new challengers.</p><p>Kevin Owens will then hold on to the United States Championship for the rest of his career. He’ll retire 10 years later, still the United States champion. At his last ever match, it will be for the championship. The match will end in a DQ, and Owens gets to retire with the title, forever the New Face of America.</p>
