AEW Interested In A Merger With WWE

When two become one. According to a report from CNBC, Shad and Tony Khan, owners of AEW, are interested in merging with WWE. The report states that AEW could partner with a strategic media company to share the intellectual property while merging the two companies. However, the idea that Vince McMahon would merge his company with AEW is a long shot. AEW hasn’t had talks with McMahon or Nick Khan, the new CEO for WWE. The Khans are open to discussing a potential role for McMahon, after a sale but haven’t yet had those talks. It’s unclear what type of job McMahon would want with WWE after a sale, primarily because WWE is a much larger and more established organization than AEW. WWE is reportedly planning to sell the company sometime in 2023. Editor’s Opinion: Wow, this is not the headline that I expected to read today. I’m not exactly sure how a merger would work, particularly with Tony Khan and Vince McMahon as the two people that would work out the details. They are both very inves..

That’s Unique: Surprise Title Change Takes Place On AEW Dynamite

Keep it in the family. There are a lot of titles in wrestling and that is not much of a surprise. It makes sense to have people fighting over belts, but when a promotion has a lot of championships, something needs to be included to make it stand out. That is the case with an unofficial AEW title, and now that championship has changed had in one of the most unique ways imaginable. This week on AEW Dynamite, Ricky Starks successfully defended the FTW Title against Danhausen. Following the scheduled match, Starks issued an open challenge for another title shot, with Hook answering and defeating him to become champion. Hook happens to be both Starks’ student as well as the son of Taz, who invented the FTW Title in ECW and owns the title itself. Opinion: That is one of the most unique as well as special moments that you are going to see. The title is literally Taz’s property and he got to see his son win the title on national television. You never see something like that happen and I can’..

WWE Hall Of Famer Arrested, Facing 30 Years In Prison

That is not a good way to go. There are a lot of names that have come up throughout the history of wrestling and some of them are rather famous. Unfortunately, some of them are more infamous than famous, often for things that are not exactly positive. That is the case with a certain WWE Hall of Famer and now things have gotten a lot worse than they were just a few months ago. Back in March, WWE Hall of Famer Tammy Sytch was involved in a car accident that killed a man in Ormond Beach, Florida. According to PWInsider.com, Sytch has been arrested and is facing nine charges, including DUI Manslaughter, driving with a suspended or revoked license and seven counts of DUI causing damage to a person or property. The DUI Manslaughter charge carries a potential thirty year prison sentence with a four year minimum and up to $10,000 in fines. In addition, also according to PWInsider.com, Sytch has been bailed out of jail and is currently free. Tammy Sytch mugshot released by Volusia County, Flo..

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Hall Of Famer Arrested Yet Again

Yes, again. Wrestlers are people who play larger than life characters on television. It is the best way possible to get them noticed by an audience, though it is rarely a reflection of who they are when the cameras go off. When that happens, things can go badly for them just like anyone else in the world and unfortunately that seems to be the case again with a certain wrestling legend. According to Wrestlingnews.co, WWE Hall of Famer Tammy Sytch, better known as Sunny, has been arrested again in Keansburg, New Jersey. Sytch is facing a list of charges, including: – OPERATING UNDER INFLUENCE OF LIQUOR OR DRUGS – DRIVING AFTER DL/REGISTRATION SUSPENDED/REVOKED – CARELESS DRIVING: LIKELY TO ENDANGER PERSON OR PROPERTY – RECKLESS DRIVING – FAILURE TO WEARSEAT EQUIPMENT-RESPONSIBILITY OF DRIVER – DRIVING WITHOUT A LICENSE – FAIL POSS DRIV LIC – FAIL TO POSS DRIV REG – FAIL TO POSS DRIV INS CARD – FAILURE TO INSTALL INTERLOCK/DRIVE CAR W/O INTERLOCK – OPERATE MV DURING LICENSE SUSPENSION-2..

Monday Night Raw And SmackDown Could Be Changing Online Homes

The new home? WWE is a huge wrestling company that pumps out more content than they know what to do with most of the time. That makes them a rather valuable property for a lot of platforms, as WWE fans will come and watch almost anything the company presents. That has made WWE a lot of money over the years and now they might be ready to do just that again with a possible change up. The online rebroadcast rights of WWE’s weekly television shows currently belong to Hulu. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the Hulu contract is expiring soon and Peacock is interested in picking up the rights to Monday Night Raw and NXT. Peacock currently airs Monday Night Raw and SmackDown thirty days later, though it is not clear if SmackDown would be allowed to air so soon due to the show airing on FOX. Peacock is reported to have one billion dollars to spend on acquiring new content this year. Opinion: This would be a big move for Peacock and WWE as Peacock certainly has the money and needs the co..

Bray Wyatt Might Be Getting Into Something Outside Of Wrestling

It’s something new. When Roddy Piper tried to get into acting, he was told that he was just a wrestler. When Piper was wrestling, he was told he was just acting. While wrestling is built around athleticism, there is also a lot of performing included. Some wrestlers have been able to turn that into an acting career, and now another wrestler seems to be trying to do the same. According to Fightful Select, Windham Rotunda, formerly known as Bray Wyatt, has been taking inquiries about opportunities in Hollywood for various projects. Rotunda was recently seen on the Warner Brothers property in Burbank, California with Jason Baker, who designed Wyatt’s lamp in WWE. There is no word on where Rotunda will wrestle next, following his release from WWE in July. Just another day at the office with @WWEBrayWyatt pic.twitter.com/zqZyyyZUFa — Jason Baker (@bakingjason) October 28, 2021 Rotunda can do a lot of things. Why You Won’t Be Seeing Bryan Danielson Doing The YES Chant In AEW

Something is missing. There are certain things that are associated with certain wrestlers. It might be a move or a catchphrase, but the most effective one can often be a gesture. Steve Austin had the middle finger, Hulk Hogan had the hand to the ear and the Rock had the eyebrow. Now though, you might not be seeing one of the most popular modern gestures of the time being. Bryan Danielson was a guest on Rasslin With Brandon Walker where he discussed not using the YES chant in AEW. Danielson mentioned that he spoke to Kevin Dunn before he left WWE and was asked to not use the YES chant as it is WWE’s intellectual property. This was done as a request and WWE has not threatened any form of legal actions against Danielson. It is understood that the fans are likely to do the chant, but Danielson will be trying not to get involved. It’s an interesting interview. Check out the full thing, plus Danielson in both companies: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video..

WWE Moving Mainstream, Hopes To Be Like Marvel And DC (Big Changes)

That’s very different. As you have probably been able to tell, the WWE has been undergoing quite the shakeup in recent memory. A lot of this has been due to the arrival of new company President Nick Khan, who has negotiated a series of lucrative deals for the company. These things have been rather successful so far and that is going to get Khan more good will. It turns out that he is going to be getting quite a few more responsibilities. According to PWInsider.com, Khan is being given even more authority and goals in the company. The idea is to move WWE into more of a mainstream property in the same vein as Marvel or DC Comics. This could include various crossover appeal with wrestlers and characters. There is no word on how this will go or how Khan plans to make these transitions work. Khan was formerly with Creative Artists Agency (CAA), one of the biggest and more important talent agencies in the world. As a result, Khan is able to bring in a variety of people he has worked with b..

USA Network May Not Want To Continue With WWE At All

According to an article by Ringside News, the USA Network may not want to continue working with WWE in any capacity moving forward. As we’ve heard, SmackDown Live is expected to move to another Network or social media site moving forward. USA Network does not want to continue paying for both Raw and SmackDown Live. To add to this speculation, Raw has not signed on for a new deal yet with the USA Network. It appears that the Network could be in search of a new professional wrestling property to air. This appears to be due to the cost of having WWE programming on their Network. From what we hear, the new deal would be worth a lot more than the current one they have. Dave Meltzer commented on this matter on the Wrestling Observer Radio. He believes that the USA Network has no real big shows to draw ratings besides WWE programming. If WWE were to leave their Network, they would lose a lot. They could have the mindset of taking a chance with a smaller wrestling company, paying them less..

Andre The Giant Documentary Producer Had To Convince Vince McMahon To Do The Film

Bill Simmons says WWE trusts him with Andre the Giant's story. Earlier this week, the Andre the Giant documentary premiered on HBO. The film follows the life of Andre the Giant and provides insights to his life. In an interview with ESPN, producer of the film Bill Simmons talked about the creation of the film. He said he had been building relationships within WWE because of his podcast and eventually he got to talk to Vince McMahon. "At that point I had a good enough relationship with the WWE to at least get them on the phone and get Vince, so we had this teleconference call...and basically tried to convince Vince to do it for an hour. It was really personal to him. I think we swayed them. The WWE is a really good company that is very protective of their (intellectual property) and they should be," said Simmons. Even though WWE is protective, Simmons said he feels trusted by the company. "I just don't think this is something that could have happened sooner than this. T..

Anthem Sports Refusing to Negotiate with The Hardy Boyz

It doesn’t look like you will see the “BROKEN” gimmick being used by Matt and Jeff Hardy on WWE programming anytime soon, as Anthem no longer wants to negotiate with The Hardy Boyz anymore.

While speaking to Sports Illustrated, Anthem’s Ed Nordholm touched based on the on-going issues between Anthem Sports and the rights to the “BROKEN” gimmick. When asked if The Hardy Boyz initial investment of $3000 into the gimmick would change the dynamic of the ownership, Nordholm explained why he doesn’t think it does.

“No. The company spent millions of dollars producing television last year, including all of the shows that incorporate the various aspects of the “Broken Brilliance.” I don’t know whether Jeff and Matt had some out-of-pocket expenses that they might have had on the volcano and the like, but that would not change, in any way, shape, or form, what their contracts say about who owns the IP. If they had some out-of-pocket expenses, they certainly never brought them to my attention. To suggest that they somehow funded the show is absurd.”

When asked about the possibly selling the intellectual property, Nordholm revealed that the door has been shut on The Hardy Boyz and they never plan on negotiating with them again.

“I’ve stopped thinking about this. We have a show to put on, and a company and a brand. We’ve got things on our plate that are more important than sorting out the “Broken Brilliance.” I made a genuine effort to resolve something to benefit the Hardys as a goodwill gesture to Matt. It didn’t reach a conclusion and we’re moving on. We’re not going back to it, I’m not interested in opening a new dialogue, I’m not interested in opening another conversation about it. We made our best effort, it didn’t happen, and I’m not going to negotiate all over again.”

Jeff Jarrett Says Impact Owns The Broken Universe

While speaking to White:List, Jeff Jarrett made the following remarks when asked about the on-going legal battle between The Hardy Boyz and Impact Wrestling over the ownership of the Broken Gimmick:

“I always take the high road because there is legal squabbles or potential legal squabbles but I have said this to a couple of outlets, and I say this with very broad strokes – I am from Nashville so I am around music which is intellectual property and I have been in the business 30 years. Intellectual property laws are very simple, there are two sides to it; there are publishers and the writers, then there are the performers as well.”

“Jeff Hardy has been one of my best friends for 20 years, you can look on my social media and their social media, and we take family vacations together but business is business,” Jarrett continued. “So when it relates to IP it’s real simple, there is a publisher who owns the property, there is a writer who gets credit and can monetize it, then there is the performers. There is no question that Broken Matt and Brother Nero’s performances were off the charts good. But when it comes to ownership to me it’s almost a silly squabble, it’s never been in question. Impact are the owners.”

You can check out the full interview here.
