WATCH: Mick Foley Wants To Join The Judgment Day (And It’s Great)

He’s worth something! Stables have been one of the most important recurring concepts in wrestling as they solve multiple problems at once. Above all else, it can allow wrestlers to get on television a bit more, as instead of short spots from individual people, they can appear together for longer stretches. Now a legend wants to join one of the most prominent modern stables. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Return: Vince McMahon Backstage At Monday Night Raw (With A Huge Change) Mick Foley has released his video resume in an attempt to join the Judgment Day. Foley lists off several of his career highlights, including a focus on his times flying off of Hell In A Cell. During the video, Foley also makes fun of Dominik Mysterio’s time in prison and includes an Al Snow reference. Thus far, Judgment Day has not responded to Foley’s offering to join the team. This is something different. Check out the resume, plus the two sides in action: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post c..

If a match has yet to be announced, you can probably guess where it is going based on the regular television shows. However, there is something else that often happens at WrestleMania and now WWE might have spoiled its own surprise. At the bottom there is a group shot of several wrestlers, many of whom have matches announced for the show. WWE Hall of Famer Snoop Dogg appears to be in the back of the shot, standing with the other wrestlers. Dogg has not been mentioned on WWE TV as part of the show’s build. Unlikely Source: Dominik Mysterio Reveals How The Office Developed His Prison Dom Gimmick

It worked. There are all kinds of different ways to present a wrestler and some of them are more serious than others. Occasionally you will see a wrestler find something that just works for them, even if it might not be the most serious situation in the world. That is the case at the moment on Monday Night Raw, and now we know some more about how it came together in the first place. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: For Real: NXT Star Written Off Television Due To Legitimate Injury For most of the year, Dominik Mysterio has spoken extensively about his time in prison, following his arrest on Christmas Eve for invading his father Rey’s home. Since then, it has been revealed that Dominik only spent a few hours in prison, though he has continued to talk about his time there. In an interview with Inside The Ropes, Dominik said that the idea came about as part of a joke about a character called Prison Mike on the Office. WWE then ran with the idea and it became what it is today. It was an interesti..

Dominik Mysterio Discusses Rhea Ripley, Life In Prison, The Judgement Day, More

Dominik Mysterio was recently interviewed by WrestleRant and Bleacher Report, where he discussed a number of topics. Among them was his relationship with Rhea Ripley, his time in prison, the future of The Judgement Day, and more. Below are some highlights from the interview: On his relationship with Rhea Ripley: “Maybe after she choked me unconscious, I thought, ‘You know what? I think things may be able to work here. I think she’s the one to help me out,'” he said about when their chemistry clicked for him. “I think our anniversary would be the first day she beat me up. But I don’t know. I’m not going to answer questions that are going to get me trouble.” “She doesn’t like to do much and neither do I, so we just stay indoors,” Dom said. “She puts on some really scary movies and listens to really loud music. I don’t like the scary movies, but she’s pretty scary, so it all depends on what she puts on, whether it be a slasher or a horror. It’s pretty intense.” On being in priso..

That Would Be A Loss: Legendary Name May Be Gone From AEW And ROH

He’s gone? While wrestlers are the focal point of any wrestling show, there are other people on television who are going to be getting some attention of their own. That can often be the case with someone doing the talking for the wrestlers, which can often make for a great combination. However, now one of the better talkers in wrestling today might be looking for a new place to go. Tully Blanchard was absent from this weekend’s Ring Of Honor Death Before Dishonor event and was seemingly written off of television as Prince Nana announced his purchase of Tully Blanchard Enterprises. According to Fightful Select, it is not clear why Blanchard was missing, with possible reasons ranging from possible travel issues to Blanchard’s prison ministry. Either way, Blanchard was said to be done with Ring Of Honor, though it is not clear if he will be back in AEW. Opinion: This is kind of a weird situation and hopefully Blanchard can find somewhere to go. He is way too good of a talker to not have..

WRESTLING RUMOR: Former World Champion Arrested For Theft, Faces Possible Jail Time

He might be gone for a bit. Wrestlers are larger than life characters who are able to do all kinds of things that will blow your mind on a regular basis. It takes some special talents to make that work, but at the same time, the wrestlers you are still seeing are humans. That means you are going to see them make mistakes, and now that might be the case again with a pretty serious situation. Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan has announced that former Ring Of Honor World Champion Michael Elgin has been arrested, resulting in him being pulled from upcoming cards. According to Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net, Elgin was arrested for theft of protein powder and could face up to five years in prison. There is a chance that a deal could be made to allow Elgin to avoid jail time by having him leave Japan, as was the case with Matt Sydal in 2016. New Law Inspired By Wrestler’s Suicide Officially Passed

That’s a big step. Wrestlers are celebrities and that means they are going to be receive attention, at least in some circles. At the same time, they are mainly only going be known for one thing. This can create some issues for wrestlers, especially if they are doing something outside of their norm. That was the case a few years ago and now, after a tragic incident, something is going to change. Back in May 2020, Japanese star Hana Kimura was a cast member on the Terrace House reality series in Japan. Her appearances were met with a series of online insults and harassment, which led Kimura to commit suicide. Now, according to NBC News, the Japanese government has passed a new law, making online insults punishable by up to a year in prison and a fine of up to 300,000 yen (about $2,260). The law is expected to go into effect this summer. Opinion: It is always fascinating to see a wrestler make this kind of an impact outside of the ring, though it is a shame that it has to take place due..

WWE Hall Of Famer Arrested, Facing 30 Years In Prison

That is not a good way to go. There are a lot of names that have come up throughout the history of wrestling and some of them are rather famous. Unfortunately, some of them are more infamous than famous, often for things that are not exactly positive. That is the case with a certain WWE Hall of Famer and now things have gotten a lot worse than they were just a few months ago. Back in March, WWE Hall of Famer Tammy Sytch was involved in a car accident that killed a man in Ormond Beach, Florida. According to PWInsider.com, Sytch has been arrested and is facing nine charges, including DUI Manslaughter, driving with a suspended or revoked license and seven counts of DUI causing damage to a person or property. The DUI Manslaughter charge carries a potential thirty year prison sentence with a four year minimum and up to $10,000 in fines. In addition, also according to PWInsider.com, Sytch has been bailed out of jail and is currently free. Tammy Sytch mugshot released by Volusia County, Flo..

REVIEW: No Mercy 2007: This Is A Weird One

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? No Mercy 2007 Date: October 7, 2007 Location: Allstate Arena, Chicago, Illinois Attendance: 12,500 Commentators: Jim Ross, Joey Styles, Jerry Lawler, Tazz, John Bradshaw Layfield, Michael Cole It’s time for a special show as John Cena is no longer the WWE Champion due to suffering an injury on Raw. The nature of the alleged threats is not currently known at this time. The weapons charges are classified as third degree, while the threats charge is fourth degree. If convicted, the weapons charges each carry a possible 3-5 year prison term, while the threats charge carries up to a 1-year sentence. VIDEO: Former WWE Star Releases New Teaser Video

It’s a nice tease. Soon after Dean Ambrose was released from WWE, a video appeared on his social media accounts showing him escaping from prison. Fans began analyzing the video to look for clues and found a few things, but what mattered the most was the fact that people were talking. Ambrose then debuted for AEW as Jon Moxley and he was off to the races. Now someone is trying the same thing. Former WWE star Buddy Murphy has released a video to his social media accounts, featuring him standing in a prison cell, banging himself against a wall. Murphy was released from WWE in June of this year, meaning that his no compete clause is expected to expire on August 31. There is no word on where he will be signing next, but he has already booked for an independent match against AEW’s Brian Cage on September 18. This could be interesting. Check out his new video plus some of what he could do in WWE: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This p..

WWE Star Teases Bringing Back An Infamous Gimmick Match

Welcome back? There are all kinds of different matches in the wrestling world and some of them are a lot more unique than others. You don’t get to see all of them every week as it could get dull in a hurry. Sometimes a promotion finds a match that it only busts out in extreme situations, with WWE being no exception. One such match be making it’s return soon. In a new interview with El Brunch de WWE, Jinder Mahal discussed the history of the Punjabi Prison match. Mahal mentioned that Great Khali designed the match and then appeared to help Mahal win his edition of the match against Randy Orton at Battleground 2017. While Mahal said that he did not want to have too many matches inside the structure, he did want to face Drew McIntyre in such a match. No match between the two has been announced as of yet, though they are feuding. The Punjabi Prison match consists of a pair of cages made of bamboo surrounding the ring. A series of doors can be opened, allowing a wrestler to move from one ..

Former WWE Star Stepping Away From Wrestling

Everyone does it eventually. At some point, every wrestler eventually has to retire. It might be for one reason or another, but it has to happen at some point. Sometimes you see someone get taken out of the ring before they should, but the best situation is a wrestler being ready to retire when they are ready. That is the case with a former WWE star, though it might be earlier than you would expect. Via a post on Instagram, former WWE star ACH, 33, has announced that he is stepping away from wrestling. The post does not go into any details on why he is stepping away or if he plans to return to the ring at some point in the future. His most recent match took place at AAW Take No Prisoners 2021 on May 7 near Chicago, Illinois, where he defeated Danny Vega. ACH has wrestled around the world, including in Japan and Mexico, as well as in Ring of Honor and Impact Wrestling. His highest profile run came in WWE, where he signed in 2019, only to be gone before the end of the year. Eventually ..

Rich Swann Returns To In-Ring Competition

He could not stay away from the ring. Rich Swann had quite the whirlwind of a 2017 in a short span of time as he was once a WWE superstar, then he and the company mutually agreed to part ways, and following that Swann decided that he no longer wanted to be a pro wrestler and announced his retirement from the sport. In December of 2017 Swann was suspended indefinitely by WWE for violating their zero tolerance policy for domestic violence. Rich Swann and his wife Vannarah Riggs, also known as 'Su Yung' were involved in an altercation with one another that resulted in Swann being arrested. Rich Swann was arrested on charges of battery and false imprisonment, and in January of this year the charges that were placed against him were dismissed due to lack of evidence to find him guilty. The following month after being cleared of the charges Swann and WWE agreed to mutually part ways. After his departure from company Swann had dates lined up with the 'CRASH Lucha Libre' ..

United States Championship Match Set For WWE Backlash

Randy Orton has his chance to win his championship back from Jinder Mahal. At WrestleMania 34, Jinder Mahal pinned Rusev in a fatal four way match to win the WWE United States Championship from Randy Orton. On the very next episode of Smackdown, Orton defeated Bobby Roode and Rusev in a triple threat match to earn a championship match at WWE Backlash. A rivalry renewed.@RandyOrton @JinderMahal #SDLive pic.twitter.com/t3FRWUbkum — WWE (@WWE) April 11, 2018 Backlash will the the first co-branded pay-per-view as WWE moves to doing that full-time. There has already been a match between Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe scheduled for Backlash. Last year, Orton and Mahal had a series of matches for the WWE Championship including the Punjabi Prison match at WWE Battleground. They also faced each other at Backlash in 2017. It should be considered that next week is the Superstar Shakeup and wrestlers will be changing brands and last year's Superstar Shakeup saw two champions change brand..

WWE SmackDown Live Results – July 25 2017

<p>Welcome to SmackDown Live, only 48 hours removed from the Battleground PPV!</p><p>Jinder Mahal retained the WWE Championship against Randy Orton in the Punjabi Prison match. However, to nobody’s surprise, Orton wasn’t beaten one-on-one. In fact, it took FOUR guys for Mahal to retain, including himself, The Singh Brothers, and the return of The Great Khali. Look, I don’t like the fact that Mahal is being booked so weak, nor does the return of Khali excite me, but I do like the concept of Mahal having an impressive entourage. Mahal is a beatable Champion but he has two lackeys who will go through hell for him, and a giant to be the muscle. It’s a great sight and I’m excited to see where WWE go next with the Punjabi Posse.</p><p>Kevin Owens won the United States Championship from AJ Styles at WWE Battleground. The match itself was fine but the finish left almost everyone scratching their heads. There was a seemingly unnecessary ref bump, a series of submissions in which nobody tapped, and then a weak roll-up to finish an anti-climatic match. It definitely was a blemish on a match that was only starting to get good. However, it’s likely we’ll get the rubber match between the two at SummerSlam and so the feud will continue tonight. That being said, there are rumours that last-minute plan changes were made to allow AJ to leap into a feud with Jinder Mahal. Either way, we’ll find out soon!</p><p>The New Day won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship’s on Sunday night, following the best match on the entire card. The match was fantastic and it felt like the right time to put the titles on The New Day. It’s unclear if we’re going to get a third showdown between the two teams at SummerSlam, but seeing as SmackDown’s tag division is pretty lacking, it seems likely. I’m fine with another month of these two teams going at it but in the meantime WWE really has to build a credible contender to New Day. Speaking of other teams, The Fashion Police were once again attacked on Sunday night and we’re no closer to figuring out who perpetrated the attacks. Rumour has it that Luke Harper and Erick Rowan are behind it, and I really hope that’s the case because they could be credible contender’s to the New Day should they beat The Fashion Police.</p><p><strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/natalya" title="Natalya">Natalya</a></strong> won the Five-Way Elimination Match at WWE Battleground on Sunday night, which means she will face <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/naomi" title="Naomi">Naomi</a></strong> at SummerSlam for the Women’s Championship. These two could have a good match but I worry about the feud when it comes to the microphone. That being said, WWE would do well to include Carmella in the feud and she could easily make it more interesting in the promo department, as well as give Naomi another thing to worry about.</p><p>That’s the preview for tonight’s show, which is likely to feature the continued feuds between Corbin and Nakamura, as well as <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/sami-zayn" title="Sami Zayn">Sami Zayn</a></strong> and Mike Kanellis. Don’t forget to check out the Ringside News app and get talking on the Ringside Talk app! Enjoy the show!</p>

The Ross Report Recap w/ Bruce Mitchell – Battleground Analysis, Fatal 4-Way Sure to Deliver, Are There Too Many PPVs? More!

<p>Ross says that while this past Sunday’s Battleground PPV has been widely criticized by fans and critics alike, he doesn’t believe any of that should be placed at the feet of the talent who he thought worked very hard on Sunday night. He believes we’re living in a society where the glass is always half empty, when in reality it could be half full as well.</p><p>He says that sometimes WWE has the tendency to book themselves into a corner, and that might have been the case this past Sunday. With a Flag Match and a Punjabi Prison match, WWE removed the drama of false finishes and this might have been a negative to the show’s overall presentation.</p><p></p><p>He thought <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/Kevin-Owens" title="Kevin Owens">Kevin Owens</a></strong> and A.J. Styles had a very good match, but there was an intangible missing and that prevented it from being great. He says that if he was booking a territory today two of the first individuals he’d want to sign are Owens and Styles. Ross also thought Cena & <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/rusev" title="Rusev">Rusev</a></strong> worked hard in their match despite the live crowd being somewhat uninterested.</p><p>Ross thought all the women worked hard in their match as well and while <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/natalya" title="Natalya">Natalya</a></strong> winning was a surprise, Ross thinks this was a great booking decision by WWE. Charlotte is obviously the alpha female in WWE right now but she needs opponents, so Ross thinks it’s only a matter of time before this Natalya win results in a positive situation for Charlotte.</p>

Jinder Mahal Possibly Not Defending the WWE Title at SummerSlam

<p>As seen at Sunday’s WWE Battleground event, The Great Khali returned to the company and helped assist Jinder Mahal retain his WWE Championship Title against <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/randy-orton" title="Randy Orton">Randy Orton</a></strong> in a Punjabi Prison match.</p><p>Bryan Alvarez mentioned on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Live that the company could be moving towards a tag match between The Great Khali and <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/randy/" title="Randy">Randy</a></strong> Orton at this year’s SummerSlam. It was noted earlier today that <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/2017/07/24/reason-great-khali-returned-wwe-revealed/">Khali was brought back to the company</a> to help get Jinder over. If a tag match at SummerSlam is the plan, that would mean that Jinder would be teaming with Khali at the event. This would also mean that the WWE Championship title will not be defended on the card.</p><p>We should have a clearer understand after Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live in the direction the company is going. The original plan was for Mahal to defend the WWE Championship against <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/johncena" title="John Cena">John Cena</a></strong> but those plans could now be off the table.</p>

Jinder Mahal Reacts to The Great Khali’s WWE Return

<p>After his victory against <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/randy-orton" title="Randy Orton">Randy Orton</a></strong> at Sunday’s WWE Battleground event, WWE Champion Jinder Mahal spoke with <a href="http://indianexpress.com/article/sports/wwe-wrestling/with-the-great-khali-behind-me-i-am-truly-unstoppable-jinder-mahal-4765072/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Indian Express</a> and talked about The Great <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/khali/" title="Khali">Khali</a></strong>’s return to WWE.</p><p><em>“Not only on SmackDown live but also on the entire WWE, I run the show and call the shots. With the Great Khali behind me, I am truly unstoppable. I have a great relationship with Khali, he is like my older brother. As Indians, we stick together. He was the first person I contacted after announcing the Punjabi Prison Match. We are in contact all the time and he is one of my role models and I want to follow his footsteps. He has helped put India on the map of WWE and I hope he is happy with my performance at Battleground.”</em></p><p>As previously noted, WWE decided to bring <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/2017/07/24/reason-great-khali-returned-wwe-revealed/">Khali in to help give Jinder a rub</a>. The feeling right now is that Jinder isn’t very popular in India, despite being WWE Champion. The belief is that aligning Jinder with Khali will help him in the long run in-<strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/terms/" title="terms">terms</a></strong> of popularity in India.</p>
