Some of these changes have involved a new path for some of the biggest events in the company, with several matches being changed into something new. Now we know a few more details about where things are going. One of the changes that has been mentioned in recent weeks has been a move away from themed premium live events. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the only thing confirmed is that there will be fewer of the events, with no word on what could happen to which events. That would explain some things. You never know when you are going to see a wrestler get injured and be forced to miss a bunch of time from the ring. Unfortunately the question in such a situation is how long someone is going to be out of action, and sometimes there is no answer in sight. This time though, there is a possibility that one injury is keeping two people out of action. Earlier this month, Asuka was injured at the hands of Damage Ctrl, putting her on the shelf. At the same time, Asuka’s partner, Alexa Bliss, has not been wrestling on television but has been wrestling at live events. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is a chance that Asuka is dealing with a legitimate injury, which could be keeping her out of the ring. As a result, Bliss is not wrestling on television until Asuka returns. This is not yet confirmed and is still considered speculation. Almost every month, WWE runs a premium live event, with a good many of them having long and detailed histories. It can mean a lot when WWE shakes up its special events calendar, but now we might be in for some pretty big changes, including an old classic making its return. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is considering major changes to its premium live events schedule. This would include an annual United Kingdom event, plus a possible return of the King of the Ring. Vince McMahon dropped King of the Ring as a regular show as it did not produce strong pay per view buys. However, thanks to guaranteed money from Peacock and other sources, the results are not as important and the show is a possibility again. It’s a special day. Some of the most important moments in the history of wrestling have taken place on television. Most modern wrestling promotions are built around television, allowing millions of fans to see what has been going on. Watching those shows has become a weekly tradition for years and now the biggest wrestling show in history is setting up for a major milestone. According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, WWE has set plans in motion for the 30th anniversary of Monday Night Raw in January, though there is no word on what those plans might be. When Vince McMahon was still in charge of WWE, there was a possibility of the show taking place at the Manhattan Center in New York City but it is not clear if that plan is still an option. There might be a future in it. Women’s wrestling has come a long way in the last few years, to the point there there is little left that women have not done in WWE. From headlining WrestleMania to having their own Royal Rumble, women have done quite a few things in the company, but now they might be able to do something that they have only done once before a few years back. According to Xero News, WWE has discussed the possibility of holding another Evolution event. The original event took place in 2018 and featured a card comprised solely of women’s matches. That would be a different world. There are two major wrestling promotions in the United States with WWE and AEW. The two companies dominate the professional wrestling scene and there is nothing to suggest that will not be the case in the future. Both are extremely well funded and have lucrative television deals. However, a potential change could be on the horizon that could shake everything up. According to the Hollywood Reporter, NBC Universal may be considering an attempt to buy Warner Brothers Discovery within the next year and a half. Due to Warner Brothers and Discovery merging earlier this year, no negotiations can officially begin until 2024. Should NBC Universal buy the company, Monday Night Raw (NBC Universal) and AEW (Warner Brothers Discovery) would be under the same umbrella.
