That’s a serious problem. There have been all kinds of wrestlers throughout WWE’s history and unfortunately several of them have left the company under less than ideal circumstances. Some of those instances are due to something taking place in a wrestler’s personal life, which is what seems to have happened to a former WWE star whose career fell apart as a result. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: OUCH: NXT Star Reveals Separated Shoulder, Out Of Action Former WWE star referee Brad Maddox appeared on Wrestling With Rip Rogers and revealed that his WWE career came to an end due to pornography and sex addictions. Maddox said that his addictions became mind consuming and his was not focusing on his work. He was released from the company in November 2015 after insulting the crowd during a dark match. It could be a bit. There are all kinds of injuries in wrestling and unfortunately some of them are a lot worse than others. You never know when you are going to see someone get hurt and they can happen in the blink of an eye, even right in the middle of a match. That seems to be the case again and now it very well may be something that keeps a star on the shelf for the time being. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Plans To Return SmackDown Star To Previous Gimmick Last week on NXT, Gigi Dolin defeated Jacy Jayne in a grudge match after the two split up as Toxic Attraction. This week, Jayne appeared with her arm in a sling and revealed that she had suffered a separated shoulder early in the match. They’re done. Tag teams have a strange history in WWE as they often feel like they are put together for the sake of being split up. This can cause some rather abrupt endings for teams, as they seemingly go from happy to split in a matter of days. Something similar has happened again in NXT as a team that only started having troubles a few weeks ago have now split up. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: BREAKING: WWE Announces Newest Inductee Into Hall Of Fame Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley split up this week on NXT when Paxley turned on Nile during a match. The two were involved in a #1 contenders triple threat match when Paxley refused to accept Nile’s tag and then attacked her. This comes after a few weeks of taunting from Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre, who have been saying that the two are not a real team. The two had been regularly teaming together since August 2022. They have a history together. Check out the split, plus the two in happier times: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post..
He’s a big one. While there are all kinds of accomplishments and milestones to be achieved in WWE, there are very few that stand the test of time. Almost any title that is won is eventually going to be lost, which creates a problem for remembering some wrestlers more than others. There is one honor that sticks around forever though and now another star is receiving the special recognition. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: No More: WWE Star Confirms Departure From Company This week on the Bump, Ric Flair announced that the Great Muta will be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame as part of the Class of 2023. Muta never wrestled in WWE but did have multiple stints in WCW over the years. He wrestled his retirement match earlier this year, with AEW’s Sting and Darby Allin joining him in his final match under the Great Muta persona. Muta is the second inductee, following Rey Mysterio. Muta was a force. Check out what he could do in the ring: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post con..
That’s some high praise. The introduction of AEW into the wrestling world has changed quite a few things, as now a new batch of wrestlers with their own style has been brought into the landscape. That can cause a lot of changes for fans as they might not have seen most of the new names before. One such group of wrestlers has caught the eye of a legend, who has quite the take on them. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Hulk Hogan Endorses Surprise Names For WWE Hall Of Fame During an appearance on the Cafe de Rene podcast, AEW’s Jake Roberts said that he believes the Elite (Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks) are better than the Bloodline’s Roman Reigns and the Usos. Roberts described Omega as “f****** unbelievable” and said that while he doesn’t like some of the stuff the Young Bucks do, “they’re doing it and getting away with it”. Those are some talented stars. That’s an endorsement. We are rapidly approaching WrestleMania 39 weekend and as usual, it will be the biggest and busiest few days of the wrestling year. Fans from all over the world will be coming out to see what WWE is doing that weekend, but there is also a lot of stuff that has nothing to do with what happens in the ring. One legend has put in a request for what he would like to see. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He Would Know: Edge Calls 36 Year Old Raw Wrestler Today’s Rated-R Superstar On March 31, WWE will induct the Class of 2023 into the WWE Hall Of Fame. In a new YouTube video, Hulk Hogan has endorsed the Fabulous Rougeau Brothers, Jacques and Raymond, to be inducted this year. The Rougeaus teamed together in the WWE from 1986-1990. WWE normally inducts one tag team a year and has not announced this year’s team. The only inductee announced thus far is Rey Mysterio. The team was rather awesome. That is some high praise. There are several different factors that go into making a wrestler feel like a big star. While in-ring abilities and presentation are important, there are other things that can help a lot, including the proper nickname. Almost every big time wrestler has had one over the years and now one of the most prominent of all time sees it in use for another star. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Missing Out Of Action: Update On WWE Status Of 39 Year Old Former Champion During an appearance on WWE’s After The Bell podcast, Edge said that he saw Seth Rollins as the “Rated-R Superstar of now”, playing off of Edge’s moniker of the Rated R Superstar. Edge made it clear that Rollins has carved his own path and done his own thing, but compared to rosters of previous years, Edge sees Rollins fitting that mold. Edge and Rollins feuded in 2021, including facing off inside Hell In A Cell. He might be onto something. Check out the two of them on their own and facing off: [This post cont..
That’s one way to go. With so many talented wrestlers in WWE, it can be difficult to find something for everyone to do. This can make for some strange and often annoying stretches where a wrestler is not around as often as they could be for one reason or another. Now we know something about where a missing star is and why he has been gone for so long. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: A Rare Breed: Rhea Ripley Reveals Special Privilege WWE Grants Her During a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was asked about the status of Roderick Strong. While Strong has not been used by WWE since October, he is still under contract with the company and has not been released. Instead, WWE is simply not using him at the moment. That might be something. We are less than three weeks away from WrestleMania 39 and that means the biggest stars in the company are going to be on display in some of the show’s top stories. It would make sense to have them around as often as possible, but now one of the most well known names in WWE today seems to be missing in action, both from television and from a live event. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Flashback: Bayley Seemingly Special Backstage Moment In Tweet To Trish Stratus According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Bray Wyatt did not wrestle at this weekend’s WWE live event at Madison Square Garden. Wyatt was scheduled to take part in a match and in a battle royal, with Braun Strowman replacing him. It turns out that Wyatt was not at this week’s SmackDown either. There is no word on why Wyatt is out of action. Wyatt has been feuding with Bobby Lashley though no match has been announced yet. Wyatt has been busy as of late. It’s an interesting choice. It had been previously reported that Rey Mysterio will be given the ultimate honor within WWE, and become a member of the WWE Hall of Fame, Class of 2023. But who will be the one to induct Mysterio? According to a report from Dave Meltzer, former WCW superstar Konnan will do the honors of bringing Mysterio into the Hall of Fame. From Wrestling News: Konnan was the most obvious choice because they have been close for decades, dating back to Rey and Konnan’s early days in the wrestling business. This might be Konnan’s first appearance at a major WWE event. Konnan wrestled briefly as Max Moon on non-televised matches in 1992 but those matches never aired and he left the company before the character debuted on TV with Paul Diamond playing the role. Konnan will be inducting Rey into the Hall of Fame. Rey asked for him and the company approved it. As noted last night, to me it was the only choice. — Dave Meltzer (@davemeltzerWON) March 11, 2023 Editor’s Opin..
He’s back. Any wrestler can go through all kinds of health issues during their time in the ring. These things can put them on the shelf for any length of time and there is often little that can be done about them. In addition to the in-ring issues, there are other health problems that can pop up every so often. That was the case again in a serious way for a wrestling legend, but now things are looking up. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Maybe? WWE Star Denies Reports Of Being On Hiatus From Company In February, WWE Hall of Famer Jerry the King Lawler suffered a stroke at his home in Florida. Another. We are coming up on the four year anniversary of AEW’s first event with Double Or Nothing 2019. The company hit the ground running and has gone on to become the second biggest wrestling promotion in the world. Uncharted territory. Titles have been one of the most important parts of WWE history throughout the decades. A title reign helps define its specific era as it gives you a better idea of who the top stars in the company happen to be. That is the case with WWE today, and now a single title reign has reached a level that none like it ever has in the history of the promotion. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Again? WWE Hall Of Fame Teases Coming Out Of Retirement According to Fightful, as of Friday, the Usos have held the SmackDown Tag Team Titles for 600 days. This is the first time in the history of WWE that any Tag Team Title reign has reached this milestone. The previous record for any tag team title reign was Princess Victoria and Velvet McIntyre, who held the WWF Women’s Tag Team Titles for 572 days from 1983-1984. The Usos are also the Raw Tag Team Champions and have held the titles for 295 days. It has been a ride. Check out the Usos’ reign: [This post contains video, click to play] [T..
He’ll be there. We are about three weeks away from WrestleMania 39 and the bigger matches have been set up. It’s a corporate thing. Wrestling is like any other industry in that there are always going to be people and companies that a wrestling promotion needs to please. This is the case with sponsors or owners, but also with their corporate partners. The concept was on display this week on national television, as a major promotion had to do something to please its television partner. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Where Did He Go? Former AEW Champion Reportedly Not Backstage For Months This week on AEW Dynamite, President Tony Khan announced that the All-Atlantic Title will officially be named the International Title starting next week with Orange Cassidy’s defense against Jeff Jarrett. They liked it. There are certain stars who are able to draw in interest to any wrestling program they are on and it can do quite a bit of good for any promotion. Those stars are few and far between but when they are around, they can be quite valuable. WWE had one of them on their main television show this week and his appearance seems to have been a hit.
