Impact Wrestling Results – February 16, 2023

Impact Wrestling Date: February 16, 2023 Location: Osceola Heritage Park, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt We are some amount of days away from No Surrender and that means it is time for some other qualifying match for the #1 contenders match. Other than that, hopefully we get more build towards Josh Alexander defending the World Title against Rich Swann. Also hopefully, we get less build towards the eventual Tommy Dreamer vs. Bully Ray showdown. Let’s get to it. In Memory Of Jerry Jarrett. Opening recap. Chris Bey vs. Kushida Ace Austin/the Motor City Machine Guns are the seconds. Kushida takes him down without much trouble to start with Bey having to bail to the ropes. Bey picks up the speed and sweeps out the leg before hitting a kick to the head. They head outside with Kushida getting sent into the apron, only to kick the arm out on the way back inside. The arm is slammed into the mat and Kushida twists it around for a bonus. Bey heads outside and ..

The game is being played at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. You can see the video below: [This post contains video, click to play] The superstars and their picks are as follows: Street Profits – Eagles Baron Corbin – Chiefs The Miz – Chiefs Ricochet – Eagles Dolph Ziggler – Chiefs Bobby Lashley – Chiefs Madcap Moss – Eagles Austin Theory – Chiefs Sarah Schriber – Chiefs Ashante Thee Adonis – Eagles Top Dolla – Chiefs B-Fab – Eagles Tegan Nox – Doesn’t Care Editor’s Opinion: Most of the superstars interviewed are riding with the Chiefs, which I totally get because they have Patrick Mahomes. However, I’ve thought that, for the most of the year, the Eagles have been the most complete team with that explosive office, under Jalen Hurts. Because of the fact that I think the Eagles have..

RUMOR: Jey Uso Declares He Is Out of the Bloodline

He’s no longer feeling Ucey. Jey Uso took to Instagram earlier today and posted a cryptic message, following the events of last night’s Royal Rumble premium live event. Jey simply wrote, “I’m out” with a red teardrop and an image of him just before he left the ring after the rest of The Bloodline destroyed Sami Zayn. You can see the post below: View this post on Instagram A post shared by FATU (@uceyjucey) From our own Thomas Hall: Post match Jey goes to give Sami his own lei but Reigns says hang on a second. The big beatdown is on Owens, with a chair being wrapped around his neck in the corner. Solo Sikoa hits the running Umaga Attack as commentary wants someone to do something about this. Reigns busted out the handcuffs as Sami is looking more and more uncomfortable. Owens is cuffed to the rope so the Usos can superkick him over and over. The fans chant for Sami as Reigns picks up the chair. Reigns talks a lot but Sami FINALLY gets in front of him before the swing. Sami says Owe..

It’s A Good Weekend: AEW Team Picks Up Some Gold (With Some Chicanery)

It suits them. There are certain wrestlers who are perfectly suited as villains and the fans can sense it. They know when these wrestlers are as vile as can be and they deserve to be booed. It makes sense for wrestling promotions to present them in ways that are going to draw as much heat from the crowd as possible and now two of the best around are getting additional help. Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti won the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Titles at TripleMania XXX on Saturday night, defeating Maravilla/Latigo, Sexy Star II/Komander and defending champions Los Vipers. Guevara came to the ring on a crutch and had Parka Negra take his place, only to use his crutch to beat everyone up and score a double pin with Conti to win the titles. He also offered to pay off the referee. #andNEW! Major Update On Upcoming WWE Tournament

Start making your picks. Tournaments are an easy concept in wrestling, as they are all about a group of entrants being cut down to one. That can come in more than a few forms but most of the time, the process can be a lot of fun. WWE has had its fair share of tournaments over the years and now we know the field for one of its longer running and more fun events. WWE has released the brackets for the 2022 men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The annual tournament will begin this week on NXT and features eight teams. As is traditionally the case, the winners will receive a future shot at the Tag Team Titles. There is no word on when the title match will take place or when the finals will be held. Here are this year’s brackets: MSK (Wes Lee & Nash Carter) Jacket Time (Kushida & Ikemen Jiro) Malik Blade & Edris Enofé Legado del Fantasma (Joaquin Wilde & Raul Mendoza) Brooks Jensen & Josh Briggs The Creed Brothers (Julius & Brutus Creed) Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson & James Drak..

Impact Wrestling Results – December 30, 2021

Impact Wrestling Date: December 30, 2021 Hosts: Josh Matthews, Scott D’Amore It’s the last show of the year and just like last week, that means it is time for the second half of the Best Of 2021. That could make for a good show, as Impact Wrestling knows how to pick and choose their best stuff. There should be some solid picks here, as was the case last week. We also have some more awards to hand out so let’s get to it. As usual, I’ll be copying and pasting the full version of the matches rather than the clipped ones airing here. Josh and Scott welcome us to the show. We see the last few minutes of Moose retaining the World Title over Eddie Edwards in a Full Metal Mayhem match at Turning Point. Kaleb With A K is doing a photo shoot for the Influence when the IInspiration interrupts. They insults each other’s outfits and the IInspiration’s own photographer comes in, leaving Kaleb With A K unhappy. From Bound For Glory. It Has A Good Beat: WWE’s Top Entrance Songs Of The Year

I give it a 98. Theme music is one of the most important parts of any wrestler’s career. Having the right song can make all the difference in the world, as it sets the atmosphere for an entrance. That is the kind of thing that needs to be done well and modern WWE goes a long way to make everything work out. It works so well that WWE is taking a look at some of their better recent efforts. WWE has released an Instagram post looking at the five most listened WWE theme songs of the year. This is based on the company’s picks rather than most plays or anything from the fans. Most of the songs are WWE originals, though there is one song that was produced by another band and used in WWE. Several of these songs were introduced over the course of the year. Here they are in order: 1. Head of the Table (Roman Reigns) 2. No More Words (Jeff Hardy) 3. Visionary (Seth Rollins) 4. Talk To Me (RK-Bro Remix) 5. The Rising Sun (Feat. Rick Boogs) View this post on Instagram A post shared by WWE (@wwe)..

Ring Of Honor TV Results – November 3, 2021

Ring Of Honor Date: November 3, 2021 Location: 2300 Arena, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman It’s time for the Halloween edition, which did air on time in some of the markets so this isn’t that far out of place. I have no idea what to expect around here now that everything has changed, but that kind of fits how Ring of Honor has worked for years. I could go for some more of what they have been doing so this is kind of appropriate. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Quinn McKay gives us the welcome. She also gets to draw the names for the Trick Or Treat match…but we only hear EC3, with the rest of the picks in fast forward. Moderately intriguing, save for EC3 that is. She has her own match this week and needs a replacement, but it needs to be ANYONE but Brian Johnson. Delirious runs down the card. Commentary is in costumes as well, with Ian as a Teletubby, Coleman as Don Cornelius from Soul Train and Maria Kanellis-Bennett as…a woman in a dress..

Some Surprising Draft Picks Take Place On Monday Night Raw

Meet the new stars. WWE has so many wrestlers that it is able to separate them into three different groups. That is not something many promotions can do, but it is nice to have that many resources available. Monday Night Raw and SmackDown serve as the main rosters, while NXT is a developmental system. Sometimes you see stars come up though, and that was the case this week. There were some NXT names drafted this week on Monday Night Raw, with both names going to SmackDown. First up, Xia Li was selected in Round Three. Li has been part of the Tian Sha stable, along with Boa and Mei Ying. Later, Ridge Holland was selected in Round Six. Holland returned from a broken ankle earlier this summer and continued his alliance with Pete Dunne. You might need to get used to them. More WWE Draft Picks From Raw Talk, Plus Remaining Free Agents

We aren’t done yet. The WWE Draft has come and gone for the year and it was certainly an eventful pair of nights. There were dozens of moves made with wrestlers jumping from show to show. At the same time though, there were some wrestlers who stayed on the shows they have been on for months now. It turns out that Monday Night Raw and SmackDown was not everything though, as we have some more picks. This week’s edition of Raw Talk included several more picks in the 2021 Draft. Both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown received additional picks, which were announced in a group rather than show by show. There were teams split up while one team did stay together as they moved. None of these picks had been made before the show aired. Here are the Raw Talk picks in no particular order: Monday Night Raw Dana Brooke Robert Roode Dolph Ziggler Jaxson Ryker Veer Liv Morgan Nox Tamina Mia Yim Shelton Benjamin Cedric Alexander Miz Smackdown Shotzi Natalya Jinder Mahal Shanky These names are in additi..

Monday Night Raw Results – October 4, 2021 (2021 Draft Night Two)

Monday Night Raw Date: October 4, 2021 Location: Bridgestone Arena, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton It’s time for the second half of the Draft and that could make for a huge night. These are the picks who were not made on Smackdown and the changes do not go into effect until October 22. On top of that though, we also have GOLDBERG making an appearance so you know things are special. Let’s get to it. Commentary explains the Draft rules. Here is Becky Lynch to get things going. Becky says it has been about a year and a half since she has been on this stage but she is ready to make some executives unhappy. The first Draft pick to Raw is…..yeah of course it’s her. Becky talks about how she never lost the Raw Women’s Title and Charlotte can’t stand the idea that she can’t beat her. Maybe it’s time to become Becky Two Belts again….and here is Charlotte to interrupt. Charlotte reminds Becky that she took the Smackdown Women’s Title from her befor..

Another Champion Switches Brands In WWE Draft

Welcome back. There are certain wrestlers who just feel different. Sometimes it is clear that a few wrestlers are bigger stars than others and it is easy to see why they are pushed as bigger stars than anyone else. These wrestlers do not come around often but you know them when you see them. That is the case in WWE and now one of the wrestlers is changing shows. The second night of the 2021 WWE Draft is taking place this week on Monday Night Raw, with several more picks being made between both shows. SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch opened the show and announced that she is the first pick and will be heading to Monday Night Raw. It is not clear what this means for the title, though Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte was sent to SmackDown on the first night of the Draft. The changes do not take place until after Crown Jewel on October 21, where Lynch is set to defend her title against Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks. Lynch has done some great things on Monday Night Raw. Check out her ..

Possible Reason Why WWE Split Up The New Day Again

Go over there? The WWE Draft is taking place this week and that means everyone is potentially going to be heading somewhere else. That has some positive and negative consequences, some of which are going to be rather noticeable. There have been wrestlers moved from one show to another and some teams have been split up. Now we may know why that was the case. Two of the picks in this year’s WWE Draft saw WWE Champion Big E. staying on Monday Night Raw while Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods would be moved over to SmackDown. This would be the second year in a row that New Day has been split up in the Draft and comes only a few weeks after their reunion. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE’s theory is that Woods and Kingston bring Big E. down while WWE wants to push him. The moves will not go into effect until October 22. The team has had its moments together and apart. Check out a bit of both: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, cli..

Backstage Details On First Half Of WWE Draft

There’s more to it than that. The WWE Draft is ongoing and that means things are getting a little more interesting throughout the company. SmackDown has already featured several moves and there will be even more next week on Monday Night Raw. There is a good chance that the latter show’s picks will get more attention, but now we know a little more about the first batch. There are some new details about the first half of the WWE Draft. According to PWInsider.com, the wrestlers who were moved to a new show were told in advance in an effort to prevent them from being taken by surprise. While some wrestlers are changing rosters, the changes do not go into effect until October 22. In addition, according to Wrestlinginc.com, Charlotte was moved to SmackDown because FOX requested that she be put on the show. There is no word on who else might have been or will be moved due to network requests. It was a busy night. Check out how some of the Draft went: [This post contains video, click to pl..

You’ll Be Seeing Some New Stars On Monday Night Raw And SmackDown

They’re the new stars. We are halfway through the 2021 WWE Draft and now we can see where a lot of things are going. That makes for some interesting moments, as the WWE roster needed to be shaken up. The problem with that is there are a lot of rosters to be shaken up, and some of the changes are not as great. One of the roster took a hit during the first night as the other two got a boost. Both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown selected NXT talent with picks during the first night of the Draft. First, SmackDown drafted the entire Hit Row stable, including B Fab, Isaiah Swerve Scott, Top Dolla and Ashante Thee Adonis. The team debuted in NXT on May 4 of this year. With the last pick of the night, Monday Night Raw selected Austin Theory. This is Theory’s second trip to the main roster, as he wrestled there during the spring and summer of 2020 before returning to NXT as part of the Way. There is potential here. Check out the main roster stars still in NXT: [This post contains video, click..

Full WWE Draft Picks From SmackDown, Several Names Changing Brands

It’s halftime. The WWE Draft is one of the biggest events that WWE presents every single year. The WWE rosters are changed over the course of two nights and some of the moves made are going to change things for a long time to come. This has been the case before, and it seems like it is going to be what happens this year as well, and now we are halfway done. The first half of the WWE Draft took place during this week’s edition of SmackDown, with four rounds of two picks each to both SmackDown and Monday Night Raw. There were picks from both the other rosters as well as NXT, with several picks being used on wrestlers who stayed on their previous brands. Only half of the WWE roster was available to be drafted on SmackDown, with the other half being available on Monday Night Raw. The roster changes will not be made official until October 22. Here are the picks from SmackDown: To Smackdown: Round 1 – Roman Reigns Round 1 – Charlotte Round 2 – Drew McIntyre Round 2 – Kofi Kingston/Xavier W..

SmackDown Live Coverage And Results – October 1, 2021

Smackdown Date: October 1, 2021 Location: Royal Farms Arena, Baltimore, Maryland Commentators: Pat McAfee, Michael Cole It’s a big night as we are starting this year’s Draft. That means we are going to be seeing a bunch of names moved from show to show, though it is not clear if NXT will be included as well. That could make for some interesting changes, but they might not all be for the best. Let’s get to it. Commentary welcomes us to the show and sets up a few rules: half of the roster will be eligible for drafting tonight and half on Raw, but the rosters will not officially change until October 22, the night after Crown Jewel. We waste no time as Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce are here to announce the first round picks: Round 1 Smackdown: Roman Reigns Raw: Big E. Smackdown: Charlotte Raw: Bianca Belair Here are Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman for a chat, but first we look at a package on Reigns vs. Finn Balor from Extreme Rules. Reigns’ shirt now says We The Ones and he demands to b..

WATCH: John Cena’s 2002 Debut vs. Kurt Angle

Look at him now. WWE has posted a new video to their YouTube channel in which they show John Cena’s full debut match against Kurt Angle from the June 27, 2002 episode of Smackdown. You can see the match in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From our own Thomas Hall: Cena takes him outside and keeps hammering away before a running splash gets two. Kurt picks the ankle and snaps off the first German suplex to put both guys down. A rollup gets two for Cena but Angle blasts him down with a clothesline. They’re certainly going hard out there and it’s working so far. Cena throws him off to break a front facelock and gets two off a good looking spinebuster. The Angle Slam is countered into a DDT for some near falls (Taz: “RUTHLESS AGGRESSION! THERE IT IS!” Is that what it is? Multiple pinfall attempts?) and a powerslam gets the same. Kurt finally has enough and grabs a double chickenwing rollup for the pin. Editor’s Opinion: I always love seeing this match a..
