Goldust Officially Leaving WWE, Issues Statement

The gold rush has ended. It had been previously reported that Cody Rhodes will be facing his brother, Dustin, aka Goldust, at AEW’s debut event, Double or Nothing. However, with Dustin still being under WWE contract, that could create a problem. Not anymore. That’s Certainly An Interesting Choice. WWE Ranks Top Five Hell In A Cell Matches

Count em, count em, count em down. Hell in a Cell is one of the top gimmick matches that WWE has to offer. It’s not the hardest concept in the world to grasp either: take a feud that has gone on for a long time and put them inside a big steel box until one of them can’t keep going. While the matches might not have the same impact that they’ve had in the past, there is a lot of history to go through here and that’s what WWE is doing today. In a new post to their Instagram account, WWE has ranked the top five Hell in a Cell matches in history. The matches are mostly from the earlier days of the Cell’s history but there is one from modern times. As of last night’s show, the match has been used forty times in history with the first version of the match coming on October 5, 1997 at Badd Blood with Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels. It’s more than a place for horses. Stables and factions are a rather popular concept in wrestling as there’s something to be said about looking at a group of wrestlers being grouped together as a big unit. They’re undergoing a renewed push in WWE at the moment with the Shield, the New Day, the former Wyatt Family and the former Authority getting a lot of time in recent years. But where do they stack up? On their Instagram page, WWE has posted a list of the Top Ten Factions of All Time. The list mainly includes WWE groups, though there is one from NXT and one who never appeared in the company whatsoever. Three of them are currently still active and formed only in the last five years. The list goes back well over thirty five years and includes a variety of groups from throughout wrestling history. Ronda Rousey Has A Run In With NBA Star At San Diego Comic Con

When worlds collide. In case you somehow didn’t know, Ronda Rousey is a former UFC champion and was one of the most dominant fighters of all time. That kind of crossover star power doesn’t happen in wrestling very often but WWE knows how to capitalize on it when they’re given the chance. With the San Diego Comic Con taking place during this week, there was a good chance of having Rousey get some more attention. Rousey was at the Comic Con this year and interacted with various mainstream athletes. One such athlete was Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid, who Rousey stared down with for a photo. The issue with this is the fact that Rousey stands about 5’7 and Embiid is nearly a foot and a half taller at 7’0. Therefore, Rousey needed a little help. Several Big Names Backstage At Raw, Why Were They There?

Ringside News is reporting that several big names were backstage during Raw this week. We may now know why. A number of former Superstars and an NXT Superstar were backstage at Raw this week. The list of names includes Edge, Christian, Beth Phoenix, Funaki and Kairi Sane. From what we understand, all of these individuals were backstage to work on the upcoming season of Edge & Christian’s WWE Network show. 16-time WWE Champion John Cena was a guest on “Ellen,” where he was scheduled to talk about his upcoming movie “Blockers,” and what it transpired into was something Cena could never have expected. Somebody’s gonna get some nice moments. With three weeks to go before “Wrestlemania XXXIV”, most of this year’s class of the WWE Hall of Fame have already been announced. There are already eight inductees announced but why not add one more. In this case, it’s quite a big one. This was a big part of why he’s going in. While not confirmed, there is a good chance that this will be announced tomorrow as all other inductees have been announced on Monday.
