Call it a crossover. Wrestlers receive a lot of criticism due to the pre-planned results of their matches, but it does not take away from the athleticism. The wrestlers that can get to the top of the industry are incredible athletes and some of the best you will find in any sport. Another one on the list. We are less than a month away from the Royal Rumble as WWE is going to be starting their new year in a big way. With so much going on, it is time to start building up one of the most important nights of the year. That is going to include some major matches and now we have one more thing added to the card outside of the show’s namesake matches. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: BREAKING: Surprise Return Leads To Impromptu SmackDown Title Change Over the last few weeks, LA Knight and Bray Wyatt have been having issues, including Knight accusing Wyatt of attacking him multiple times. This week on SmackDown, Knight challenged Wyatt to a match at the Royal Rumble, with Wyatt accepting. Later in the night, the match was announced as a Pitch Black match, which had been advertised in advance without participants. NXT Date: November 29, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Booker T., Vic Joseph This week is about the past and the future, as a group of Hall of Famers, led by Shawn Michaels, will announce the participants in the Iron Survivor Challenge. That would be quite the segment and it will determine most of the Deadline card. The main event is a rather big six woman tag so let’s get to it. Indi Hartwell vs. Roxanne Perez Hartwell powers her around to start but Perez dropkicks her down. The chinlock goes on to slow Hartwell up but she fights up and sends Perez crashing out to the floor. Back in and a boot to the face drops Perez and a hard clothesline gives Hartwell two. A sideslam sets up the chinlock but Perez is up rather quickly. Perez forearms away and sends Hartwell face first into the middle buckle as the comeback is on. A running basement dropkick sends Hartwell into the corner, where she comes out with a belly to back suplex to cut Perez off. Pe..

First WarGames Match Announced For WWE Survivor Series

Lock them in. We are coming up on Survivor Series and this year’s edition is going to be a little bit different. For the first time, we are going to be seeing WarGames make its main roster debut in WWE. There will be two matches on the show with a men’s and women’s match taking place on the show. Now we have a good idea of what one of the matches is going to be. This week on Monday Night Raw, WWE announced most of the women’s WarGames match. Bianca Belair, Asuka and Alexa Bliss challenged Damage Ctrl to compete in the match, with Damage Ctrl accepting. Nikki Cross became the fourth member of Team Damage Ctrl, with one more member to go. Belair and company still have two teammates to be announced. Survivor Series takes place on Saturday November 26. Opinion: As an old WCW fan, it feels so strange to see WarGames in WWE but now we are several major steps towards it actually happening. Tis the season. Wrestling is about having fun and entertaining the fans in one way or another. There are multiple ways to do just that and some of them are a lot goofier than others. At times, the best thing that can be done is just do something entertaining without trying to be overly serious. That took place again this weekend as an annual tradition was brought back. NXT brought back its Halloween costume battle royal over the weekend at a live event in Melbourne, Florida. The match included several women competing for an NXT Women’s Title shot against Mandy Rose in the show’s main event. Thea Hail, who was dressed as Andre Chase, won the battle royal but lost to Rose in the title match. Polish Them Up: WWE Announces Women’s Tag Team Title Tournament

They’re back. There are a lot of titles under the WWE banner and some of them are specifically for one set of wrestlers. Those titles often have smaller fields of competitors, which means things can be a bit tighter when it comes to challenging for a championship. It is going to be the case again soon, as WWE is going to be crowning a new set of champions in the near future. It was announced on this week’s SmackDown that a tournament would begin next week on Monday Night Raw to crown new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. There were no details on the tournament, including the participants, number of teams or when the finals would be held. Sasha Banks and Naomi vacated the titles when they walked out on WWE back in May, with a tournament being promised shortly thereafter. Opinion: This surprises me a bit as the titles had not been mentioned in several months. I don’t know if the women’s division has the depth to support the titles but if more women are being brought in, it could work out..

New Grudge Match Likely Being Added To AEW Double Or Nothing

There is room for one more. We are less than a week away from AEW’s Double Or Nothing and the card is already stacked. The show has several title and grudge matches already set and there is not much left to do. AEW has set up a lot for the show but there is still room for a little bit more. As luck would have it, AEW has set up another match that would fit on the card and it seems that is what they are going to do. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW is planning on running a mixed tag match for Double Or Nothing. The match will feature Tay Conti/Sammy Guevara vs. Paige VanZant and either Scorpio Sky or Ethan Page. Guevara had agreed to the match weeks ago, though the participants were never specifically announced. It is not clear if the match will take place on the Buy In show or the regular show. AEW Wanted To Run Two HUGE Tournaments

They had a different plan. Tournaments are a common idea in wrestling and something that can be used to quite the success. There is something so simple about putting a bunch of people into a field and seeing who comes out on top in the end. You can see all kinds of tournaments today and we almost saw another one, albeit not one that you see very often around here. Back in March, AEW began holding qualifying matches for the men’s and women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournaments, which will officially begin later this week. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the original format would have been a round robin style tournament with all eight participants in each field facing each other once. However, this was seen as impossible due to time constraints. The finals of both tournaments will take place at Double Or Nothing. They Did It Again: Another Title Change Takes Place On AEW Dynamite

There it goes again. There are a lot of titles in the wrestling world and they all have their own unique histories. You can see all kinds of different matches for titles but one constant is that a title change means at least a little something. Some titles change hands more often than others and it can make for some interesting moments when one happens. That was the case again this week in a different way. The main event of this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite saw Scorpio Sky defeat Sammy Guevara in a ladder match to regain the TNT Title. Guevara defeated Sky for the title at Battle Of The Belts II, which aired on April 16. Guevara then challenged Sky to a ladder match in exchange for a mixed tag match with participants still to be announced. The win makes Sky a two time champion. Opinion: The title change was a surprise but Sky getting the title back is a nice thing to see. It still feels weird to see an AEW title changing hands so fast but maybe this is it and Sky gets to hold onto ..

The Royal Rumble is one of the most unique events on the WWE calendar, as the company is able to put dozens of wrestlers into a pair of matches and set up some of their biggest shows of the year in Wrestlemania. Putting together two groups of thirty wrestlers can be quite the task though, and now we know everyone WWE had to bring in to help make things better. This weekend’s WWE Royal Rumble event featured the usual men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches. Most of the matches’ participants were announced in advance, with a few names being revealed during the matches themselves. Another Rather Surprising Name Discussed For The Royal Rumble

Welcome back? The Royal Rumble is taking place later this week and that means it is time for fans to speculate on who might be in the show’s namesake matches. While WWE announces a good number of the match participants in advance, there are still several spots left to go. Some of those wrestlers will be making returns, but now we might have an idea of one of the bigger surprises. According to Fightful Select, Kairi Sane has been discussed as a potential women’s Royal Rumble participant, though it is not clear if she will be a part of the match. Sane has not wrestled July 2020 and has since relocated to Japan. She is still under WWE contract until February, though there is nothing to suggest that she will be wrestling for WWE again. There are currently twenty one names announced for the women’s Royal Rumble match. More On First Ever Women’s Ultimate X Match, Who Pushed For Match To Take Place

It was a historic match. The Women’s Revolution changed women’s wrestling in WWE for good and things have been moving forward since. However, WWE was far from the first promotion to treat women’s wrestling seriously, with Impact Wrestling being one of the leaders in the movement. The company still has some firsts to cover though, and one was checked off the list this weekend. On Saturday night at Impact Wrestling’s Hard To Kill, Tasha Steelz won the first ever Knockouts Ultimate X match. According to PWInsider.com, Jordynne Grace and Steelz were the two who mainly pushed for the match but did not know that it was coming until the match was announced on television. In addition, there were no major injuries reported from the match, though all six participants were said to be banged up. It was certainly a busy match. Listen to them. There have been a lot of changes to NXT in recent week and a lot of them have not seemed to be the most popular. NXT is in a very different place than it was just a few months ago and it is hard to see the logic behind some of the moves that they have made. Now though, we are getting a rather different method of setting up a pretty big time match. This week’s edition of NXT featured the announcement of the men’s WarGames match for the December 5 WarGames event. Following the NXT tradition, two wrestlers will participate in a ladder match to determine which team will have the advantage in the WarGames match. An AEW Full Gear Match Originally Looked Pretty Different

What could have been. We are less than three days away from AEW’s Full Gear pay per view and the show’s card is mostly set. The company has a history of putting on some excellent pay per view events and that should be the case again here. AEW added some more matches to the show this week, but in one case, the match we are seeing was not in the original plans. During this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, a tag team match featuring Cody Rhodes and Pac vs. Malakai Black and Andrade El Idolo was announced for Full Gear. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the original plans for the match called for it to be a four way with the same wrestlers participating. VIDEO: The Miz Turns Blue On Dancing With The Stars (And It’s Awesome)

I’d say he went the extra mile. There are a lot of wrestlers in the world today and only a handful of them really get to stand out. Some of them are willing to do whatever it takes to make their company look good and it shows quite a bit. You do not get to see that kind of dedication very often, and now one of the most well known for it is showcasing himself outside of the ring as well. The Miz is a contestant on this season of Dancing With The Stars, partnering with professional dancer Witney Carson. The fourth week of the competition was Disney Week, featuring the dancers in Disney inspired costumes. Miz painted himself blue as the Genie from Aladdin while performing Friend Like Me.
