NXT Results – March 7, 2023 (Roadblock)

NXT Date: March 7, 2023 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Vic Joseph, Booker T. This is the Roadblock special, because we need a special event less than a month before what is probably the biggest NXT event of the year. Since the NXT Champion is in a six man tag, the real main event is probably Shawn Michaels appearing on the Grayson Waller Effect. NXT has teased Michaels fighting Waller, so odds are we see who is doing it in Michaels’ place this week. Let’s get to it. We open with Tiffany’s Epiphanies, as Tiffany Stratton runs down the card and talks about how we got here. Tony D’Angelo vs. Dijak This is the Jailhouse Street Fight, meaning a casket match with a jail cell. Dijak tries a nightstick to start but gets clotheslined to the floor instead. It’s way too early to send Dijak into the cell but D’Angelo fights his way out of it too. After Stacks gets knocked down, they head back inside where Dijak hits High Justice onto a chair. Dijak throws in ..

Monday Night Raw Results – February 27, 2023

Monday Night Raw Date: February 27, 2023 Location: Van Andel Arena, Grand Rapids, Michigan Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Corey Graves We are less than five weeks away from Wrestlemania and you can see a lot of the show’s card from here. That means we should be in for a good event, as there is time to build things up in advance. Odds are we’ll hear a lot from Cody Rhodes this week, which often works out well. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of Friday’s Bloodline issues, as Sami Zayn seems to still be getting inside Jey Uso’s mind. Here are Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa to mock the idea of there being problems in the Bloodline. Families fight all the time but if you come for one of them, you come for all of them. There have been a lot of people who thought the Bloodline was over and they were all wrong. So get them some opponents out here. Cue the Street Profits, who shout a lot and ask where Jey Uso is. Trash is talked and we’re ready to go. Jimmy Uso/Solo Sikoa vs. Street Profits J..

Early Betting Odds For AEW Revolution 2023

In case you want to know. BetOnline has released its early betting odds for AEW’s Revolution 2023 pay-per-view, which takes place on Sunday, March 5. You can see the odds below: AEW World Heavyweight Title Match: MJF (champion) -5000 vs. Bryan Danielson +900 AEW TNT Championship Match: Samoa Joe (champion) +350 vs. Wardlow -500 Texas Death Match: Jon Moxley +650 vs. Hangman Page -300 Singles Match (Everyone is Banned From Ringside): Chris Jericho +250 vs. Ricky Starks -400 AEW Women’s World Championship Match: Jamie Hayter (champion) -1000 vs. Ruby Soho +350 vs. Saraya +500 AEW Trios Title Match: The Elite (champions) -200 vs. The House of Black +150 For reference, a moneyline bet is when you bet on only one team to win. Let’s say the two teams are the Browns(+150) and the Steelers(-110). The +150 means you’ll win $150 if you place a $100 bet and the Browns win. The -110 means you’ll need to bet $110 to get a $100 payout if the Steelers win. Editor’s Opinion: So, The Elite, J..

SmackDown Results – February 10, 2023

Smackdown Date: February 10, 2023 Location: Mohegan Sun Arena, Uncasville, Connecticut Commentators: Michael Cole, Wade Barrett We are just over a week away from Elimination Chamber and the main portion of the card is set. That is going to include a pair of Elimination Chamber matches, plus Sami Zayn challenging Roman Reigns for the World Title. Odds are the latter will get some focus this week so let’s get to it. We open with a recap of Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn brawling last week, with Sami getting beaten down but also getting the Elimination Chamber title match. Opening sequence. Here is Paul Heyman to talk about Sami Zayn, who is not here this evening. Can anyone imagine Zayn as champion? It’s as insane as Cody Rhodes saying it was personal on Raw. Heyman: “YOU DUMBA**!” These championships are not just titles, but rather the centerpieces of the Island of Relevancy. They are the blood that flows through the veins of the Bloodline. Without these titles, there is no Roman Reigns..

WWE Hall of Famer Returns On Raw

She’s back. The main event of tonight’s episode of Raw featured a steel cage match between Becky Lynch and Bayley that was originally supposed to take place at Raw XXX. While Bayley would have backup with Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky, it appeared that The Man had some backup too. In the closing moments of the match, Lynch was getting ready to escape the cage, when interference from Kai and Sky prevented The Man from getting out. Just when it looks like Bayley was going to get the win, WWE Hall of Famer Lita made her return to television to even the odds. She would fight off Damage Control, slam the door in Bayley’s face, and allow Lynch to get the win. Lita was last seen on WWE programming at the 2022 Elimination Chamber premium live event, where she lost a match to Lynch. Editor’s Opinion: I did not see this one coming, but I’m glad I did! It’s always great when Lita is on television, and she looked fantastic in her role as always. If this leads to a tag match between the two opposing s..

Impact Wrestling Results – February 2, 2023

Impact Wrestling Date: February 2, 2023 Location: Osceola Heritage Park, Kissimmee, Florida Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt It’s the start of a new month and we are well on our way to No Surrender. Last week saw Rich Swann win a #1 contenders match to earn a shot at Josh Alexander later this month, but it still feels like we are coming up on Steve Maclin as the really big bad. Odds are we see more of the build this week so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Bullet Club vs. Kevin Knight/Kushida Knight and Ace start things off with Bey’s headlock not getting him very far. Knight misses a charge into the corner and Bey stomps him in the back, only to get caught with a springboard spinning crossbody. It’s off to Kushida to start in on the arm but it’s right back to Knight, whose springboard is dropkicked out of the air. Austin comes in to stomp Knight down for two and he kicks away at Knight in the corner. The Club starts taking turns on Knight, with Austin ..

Monday Night Raw Results – January 16, 2023

Monday Night Raw Date: January 16, 2023 Location: Heritage Bank Center, Cincinnati, Ohio Commentators: Corey Graves, Kevin Patrick We’re less than two weeks away from the Royal Rumble and also quite possibly on the second straight week of doing very little because the show is up against a huge football game. The Royal Rumble is in less than two weeks and odds are that we’ll be seeing some more names announced for the namesake matches. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Here are the Usos and Solo Sikoa for a chat. They’re here in our city but need to address what happened on Smackdown. Kevin Owens needs to learn that you can’t be a problem for Roman Reigns. Speaking of Reigns, there is something big planned for next week’s Raw XXX. Every generation of the Bloodline will be joining together for an acknowledgment ceremony, plus they’ll beat Judgment Day. Cue Judgment Day, with Rhea Ripley saying they run Raw and Finn Balor saying they ran through the tag division and are now the #1 co..

Monday Night Raw Results – January 9, 2023

Monday Night Raw Date: January 9, 2023 Location: Legacy Arena, Birmingham, Alabama Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Corey Graves We’re back to the red show and closing in on the Royal Rumble. There are only three names announced for the Royal Rumbles so far and that means some spots need to be filled. Odds are some of that is done tonight but there is the chance that they’re leaving some surprises this year. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Here is Kevin Owens to get things going and the fans seem to like him. Before he can say much though, here is JBL to interrupt. After insulting the crowd, JBL says no one is buying Owens having a chance against Roman Reigns. JBL brings out Baron Corbin to insult the fans even more, including some University of Alabama insults. Owens buries his face in the turnbuckle as Corbin gets in every standard insult you can imagine. He says he was in a “JBL and Baron Corbin were talking for three minutes but didn’t say anything” coma but for now he’s willing ..

REVIEW: Royal Rumble 1992: Fair To Flair

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Royal Rumble 1992 Date: January 19, 1992 Location: Knickerbocker Arena, Albany, New York Attendance: 17,000 Commentators: Gorilla Monsoon, Bobby Heenan It’s time to get back to one of the classics as this one comes up on the request list pretty regularly. Since this is going to be my fourth time looking at it, odds are this is going to be the last time I look at it for a very good while. You probably know the big attraction by heart at this point and that should be more than enough to carry the whole thing. Let’s ..

AEW Rampage Results – December 9, 2022

Rampage Date: December 9, 2022 Location: H-E-B Center, Cedar Park, Texas Commentators: Jim Ross, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone We are a day away from Ring Of Honor Final Battle and odds are we are going to be seeing some of the very last build to the show. Other than that we have what should be a heck of a match between Konosuke Takeshita vs. Jon Moxley and Orange Cassidy defending the All-Atlantic Title against a mystery challenger. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Jon Moxley vs. Konosuke Takeshita Moxley takes him down by the arm to start before it’s time to stand and trade chops. With that not working, Moxley bites Takeshita’s head in the corner and then chops some more. With Don Callis watching, Takeshita sends him outside and over the barricade as we take a break. Back with Moxley (bleeding) getting two off a piledriver but getting caught with a heck of a clothesline. Takeshita sends him to the apron, setting up a slingshot DDT for two back inside. What looked like a Blue Thunde..

SmackDown Results – November 18, 2022

Smackdown Date: November 18, 2022 Location: XL Center, Hartford, Connecticut Commentators: Michael Cole, Wade Barrett Survivor Series is next week and odds are we find out what we are going to be getting in the men’s WarGames match. You can probably guess one of the teams but we are going to need another team to oppose them. The rest of the show could use some work too though and we might be getting something like that tonight. Let’s get to it. Here are the Brawling Brutes and Drew McIntyre for a chat, likely about their officially announced WarGames match against the Bloodline. Sheamus checks his mic in a callback to last week before asking how many times he and McIntyre have been to war. They have known each other for twenty years and it has created respect between them. Sheamus even had McIntyre as the best man at his wedding three weeks ago. The fans chant UCEY but Sheamus says they want a Brutey. Drew: “Did you just say Brutey?” Sheamus wants McIntyre to be an honorary Brute in..

Dynamite Results – November 16, 2022

Dynamite Date: November 16, 2022 Location: Total Mortgage Arena, Bridgeport, Connecticut Commentators: Excalibur, Taz, Tony Schiavone, Ian Riccaboni It’s the go home show for Full Gear and that means the card could still use some work. If nothing else, we need to have some more matches in the Contenders tournament as the finals are still set for Saturday. Other than that, odds are we’ll be hearing from MJF and Jon Moxley. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Bryan Danielson/Claudio Castagnoli vs. Chris Jericho/Sammy Guevara It’s a brawl to start with the Club elbowing away at Guevara and Jericho, followed by a surfboard to Guevara. Back up and Guevara hits a dropkick to take over, allowing Jericho to come in for the chops in the corner. Danielson fights out and scores with the running dropkicks to Guevara but tries once too often. Jericho gets in a cheap shot from the floor and we take a break. Back with Danielson getting double suplexed but managing to get over for the hot tag to C..

Impact Wrestling Results – November 3, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: November 3, 2022 Location: Sam’s Town Live, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan We are about two weeks away from Overdrive and the card is starting to take shape. While the World Title match is already set, we still need to get the X-Division Title match ready, which is where this week comes in. Odds are there are going to be more tournament matches this week and that should be a good thing. Let’s get to it. Opening recap. Eddie Edwards blames PCO for the destruction of Honor No More and invites him to come fight him in the desert. Opening sequence. X-Division Title Tournament First Round: Kenny King vs. Mike Bailey Feeling out process to start with King being weary of the big kick. An exchange of rollups get two each until they both try kicks to the ribs. Bailey dropkicks him for two and King is sent outside, but it’s too early for the dive. Back in and Bailey cranks on the leg, with a leglock sending King over to the rope. King’s..

SmackDown Results – October 28, 2022

Smackdown Date: October 28, 2022 Location: Enterprise Center, St. Louis, Missouri Commentators: Wade Barrett, Michael Cole We are less than eight days away from Crown Jewel and Roman Reigns is actually here this time. Odds are he’s going to be talking about Logan Paul, but there is always the chance that he will be giving us some hints about what he is going to be doing at Survivor Series. Other than that, I’m sure Bray Wyatt will be running around. Let’s get to it. Brawling Brutes vs. Solo Sikoa/Sami Zayn In the back, Sami asks Jey Uso to keep things calm, as Roman Reigns isn’t here yet and the first thing he needs to see is the team being successful. Butch and Zayn start things off with the former hitting a rather hard clothesline. Holland comes in to help Butch out with some forearms to the chest. Jimmy gets in a cheap shot to Butch from the floor but he’s fine enough to send Sami outside. A running knee off the apron drops Zayn but Sikoa runs Butch over as we take a break. Back ..

Monday Night Raw Results – October 17, 2022

Monday Night Raw Date: October 17, 2022 Location: Paycom Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Commentators: Corey Graves, Kevin Patrick We’re rapidly approaching Crown Jewel and WWE has the main event covered with Logan Paul challenging Roman Reigns. That leaves some spots open for the rest of the card, some of which needs to be filled in soon. Odds are we’ll get some of that soon and you can probably guess some of the matches from here. Let’s get to it. We open with Bobby Lashley in the ring mid-promo, where he calls out Brock Lesnar. Cue Lesnar and they get in a fight before Lesnar can even make it to the ring, with Lashley getting posted on the floor. Lashley slips out of another posting and sends Lesnar into it instead. A spear through the barricade draws out wrestlers and officials to break it up but Lashley gets away. This time it’s Lesnar going through the announcers’ table (on the second attempt) to leave him laying. OC vs. Alpha Academy AJ Styles is here with the OC. Anderson ta..

NXT LVL Up Results – October 7, 2022

NXT LVL Up Date: October 7, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Matt Camp, Nigel McGuinness We are back to the show that changes so little week to week that I didn’t even realize I watched the same episode twice. Odds are there are going to be a lot of the same things this week as tends to be the case around here. That should mean some ok stuff, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up for anything spectacular. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Indi Hartwell vs. Sloane Jacobs Hartwell grabs a headlock takeover to start as we hear about Hartwell’s time in the Way. Jacobs slips out and hits a basement dropkick, only to get slammed down for two. A cravate goes on but Jacobs fights up and kicks her in the face a few times. Not that it matters as Hartwell hits the spinebuster for the pin at 3:17. Result: Indi Hartwell b. Sloane Jacobs – Spinebuster (3:17) Arianna James and Kiana James say don’t underestimate them. Myles Borne vs. Guru Raaj Borne wrestles him..

AEW Rampage Results – September 30, 2022

Rampage Date: September 30, 2022 Location: Liacouras Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Commentators: Excalibur, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone Rampage is back to normal this week and that should make for a decent enough show. You never know what you’re going to get around here, though odds are you’ll get at least one important thing. Other than that though, there is a good chance you’ll be seeing some names who aren’t around on Dynamite very often. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Tag Team Titles: Acclaimed vs. Butcher and the Blade vs. Private Party Acclaimed, with Billy Gunn, is defending. Bowens and Kassidy start things off as Matt Hardy is watching in the back. They trade quick one counts as the fans sing in praise of the Acclaimed. A standoff gives us a handshake before Bowens drives Kassidy into the corner for the tag off to Castor. With Kassidy down, Castor stops for some scissoring with Gunn before Bowens comes in for a neckbreaker onto Castor’s knees. Quen comes in and gets a..

Impact Wrestling Results – July 28, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: July 28, 2022 Location: Old Forester’s Paristown Hall, Louisville, Kentucky Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt We are on the way to Emergence and now we have a main event set. This time it is going to be Alex Shelley getting his shot at Josh Alexander and the World Title, but odds are we are going to have more Violent By Design interference on the way there. Kushida is here too and that should help. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of Alex Shelley becoming #1 contender but getting beaten down by Violent By Design, with Kushida running in for the save. Eddie Edwards vs Ace Austin Kenny King and Chris Bey are here too. Austin teases him with the posing to start so Edwards unloads on him in the corner. That earns Eddie a takedown and a playing card cut between the fingers in a spot Austin hasn’t used in a bit. King offers a distraction though and Edwards runs Austin over, setting up the choking on the ropes. Austin is sat on top for some chops but..

KB’s Review: Vince Is Gone

So I had a column set up about the upcoming Summerslam title matches and how WWE doesn’t have much of a choice but to do a series of rematches. Odds are you’ll see that one in the future, but the wrestling world being turned upside down. After forty plus years of being in charge, Vince McMahon officially retired from WWE and has handed control over to his daughter Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan. Yeah I think that might be a bit more important than anything happening at Summerslam with its big package of rematches (more on that later) This is the kind of thing that you always knew was going to happen at some point but it’s hard to actually believe it went down. Vince has been the force in WWE and the idea of anyone being in charge of the company is almost impossible to fathom. There is no way to put together Vince’s legacy into anything shorter than a rather long book so this week we’re going to look at some of the high points of his career and what this change might mean for modern W..

AEW Rampage Results – July 15, 2022

Rampage Date: July 15, 2022 Location: Enmarket Arena, Savannah, Georgia Commentators: Jim Ross, Taz, Chris Jericho We’re still in Fyter Fest with the second of four shows in two weeks. I’m not sure what that is going to mean, but we do have a big time Ring Of Honor World Title match as Jonathan Gresham defends against Lee Moriarty. Odds are we’re going to be seeing some kind of a surprise challenger to come out after the match and set up Death Before Dishonor so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Dark Order vs. House Of Black Black rolls Reynolds to the mat to start but Reynolds is back up with a wristlock. That doesn’t last long as Black knees him in the ribs to set up a chinlock before it’s off to Brody King. The big chop misses though, meaning John Silver wants to try King out of a slight case of insanity. King runs him over with a shoulder but misses a backsplash. Everything breaks down and the Order gets to clean house, including a double dropkick to send King outside. Reynolds..
