It came from the source. It had been previously reported that the Bella Twins were officially leaving WWE for good and had rebranded themselves as Nikki and Brie Garcia. One of the main questions that has risen is the wrestling future, particularly when it comes to AEW. That question was answered today on Instagram Live, where Nikki confirmed that her and her sister would not be going to AEW. You can see a clip of that below: Nikki and Brie Garcia are not going to AEW. pic.twitter.com/PkzCosyUER — Wrestling News (@WrestlingNewsCo) March 15, 2023 Garcia also mentioned that there was fan speculation that things have soured between both them and WWE. She said it seems that way because of “everything in the past” but there are no hard feelings. Editor’s Opinion: I’ll take the Garcias at their word, as they have absolutely no reason to taint their legacy by going to AEW. That being said, it wouldn’t surprise me if Tony Khan threw a bunch of money at them to get a major pop for one nig..
New plan! We are less than three weeks away from WrestleMania 39, which will feature some of the biggest WWE matches of the year. This is the kind of show that can change a wrestler’s future and the question becomes what happens after that. Getting to headline the show is one of the biggest career boosts imaginable and now some different names might be receiving that honor. The Raw Women’s Title match with Bianca Belair defending against Asuka will take place on Night One, while the SmackDown Women’s Title match with Charlotte defending against Rhea Ripley will take place on Night Two. A currently unannounced match between the Usos and Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn could be headlining Night One, though the plans have not yet been finalized. WrestleMania 39 takes place on April 1 and 2. That could slow things down. There are all kinds of reasons for a wrestler to not be able to get in the ring and some of them are more serious than others. You never know when you might see someone having to sit out a good deal of time before they can have a major match and that can make things a lot more complicated. Now it seems to be slowing down the debut of a top WWE prospect. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Steveson is talking about returning to amateur wrestling and attempting to win another Olympic gold medal in 2024. There is no word on if he has made a decision how WWE would react to Steveson making such an attempt. The 2024 Olympic Games take plac..
We have some sad news to report today as WWE Hall of Famer, Arn Anderson’s son Barrett has passed away at the age of 37. Anderson tweeted the following to share the news: Last night my family suffered a loss that should never be felt by any parent. Our older son Barrett passed away. I am struggling to write this. Tell those you love that you love them. Barrett was just 37. Last night my family suffered a loss that should never he felt by any parent. Our older son Barrett passed away. Barrett’s brother, Brock, who works for AEW along with his father, shared the following words: “I never thought of what to say in something like this because it’s not something you just have on stand by waiting for the day to come… Last night I lost my brother ..
It’s an interesting choice. It had been previously reported that Rey Mysterio will be given the ultimate honor within WWE, and become a member of the WWE Hall of Fame, Class of 2023. But who will be the one to induct Mysterio? According to a report from Dave Meltzer, former WCW superstar Konnan will do the honors of bringing Mysterio into the Hall of Fame. From Wrestling News: Konnan was the most obvious choice because they have been close for decades, dating back to Rey and Konnan’s early days in the wrestling business. This might be Konnan’s first appearance at a major WWE event. Konnan wrestled briefly as Max Moon on non-televised matches in 1992 but those matches never aired and he left the company before the character debuted on TV with Paul Diamond playing the role. Konnan will be inducting Rey into the Hall of Fame. Rey asked for him and the company approved it. As noted last night, to me it was the only choice. — Dave Meltzer (@davemeltzerWON) March 11, 2023 Editor’s Opin..
