Double Trouble: Roman Reigns And Drew McIntyre Suffer Same Injury In Same Match

Two at once? Injuries are one of the worst things that you can see in wrestling and sometimes they can show up out of nowhere. Occasionally you can see them take place and know right when it happened, but there are also instances where you only find out after the fact. Now two top WWE stars are both on the shelf for the time being with identical injuries that showed up in different ways. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The New Generation: Former WWE Superstar Reveals Scrapped Plans For New League Of Nations According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, both Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns suffered ruptured eardrums at Survivor Series. As a result, both are out of action for the time being, though both situations are described as “short-term”. McIntyre was medically disqualified from his scheduled Tag Team Title match with Sheamus against the Usos this week on SmackDown. Reigns on the other hand has not missed any scheduled matches due to his injury, which came due to a slap from Kevin Owens...

The New Generation: Former WWE Superstar Reveals Scrapped Plans For New League Of Nations

They had an idea. Stables are a concept that has worked in wrestling for decades and continues to do so to this day. It makes a lot of sense as well, as a stable allows several people with anywhere from identical to even somewhat related goals a chance to be on television together. WWE has used them for years, but there was one reincarnation that they passed on instead. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: VIDEO: Kurt Angle’s Huge Birthday Celebration Continues After SmackDown Ends Back in 2015, a group of international stars joined forces as the League Of Nations. The team, comprised of Wade Barrett, Rusev, Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio, were a force in WWE until April 2016 when they split up for good. During an appearance on the 10 Count podcast, former WWE Superstar Mojo Rawley revealed that WWE had considered relaunching the League Of Nations with Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura and himself. Rawley did not say when this would have taken place or how far along the plans went. Rawley’s role in the group..

The Rock’s Daughter Cuts First Promo In NXT

There’s the new generation. There are a lot of ways for a wrestler to get into the industry, but one of the things that can offer some instant credibility is being a second generation star. A wrestler with family in the business feels like a bigger deal because they have a connection to the sport and have probably learned more than the average newcomer. That was the case again this weekend, as the daughter of an all time legend took her first step into a much larger world. Dwayne Johnson’s daughter Simone, under the name of Ava Raine, cut her first promo at an NXT live event in Orlando, Florida over the weekend. Raine called herself the Final Girl and talked down about the rest of the NXT women’s division, including Cora Jade. There is currently no word on when Raine will either have her first match or make her television debut. Tonight was reportedly Simone Johnson's first promo in front of fans #WWENXT #nxtorlando @AvaRaineWWE https://t.co/oDWvtJmx95 — Jay Reddick (@runninjay..

William Regal And Bryan Danielson Offering Extra Training To AEW Stars

That’s a heck of a class. One of the things that you will constantly hear from veteran wrestlers is the importance of passing down knowledge to the new generation. At some point, these wrestlers have to tell the new crop of stars how to do all of this stuff and that is not something you often see. You could see it now in a pretty big place though, if the teachers would let you that is. According to Alex McCarthy of TalkSPORT, AEW’s William Regal and Bryan Danielson will get in the ring every Wednesday morning at television tapings and teach/work with younger wrestlers. Phones are not allowed but all wrestlers are welcome to attend and participate. Ricky Starks has confirmed that the sessions take place and says that Regal and Danielson regularly engage with him. Regal says he and Bryan Danielson arrive at AEW TVs and from 11am get in the ring to work/teach. No phones allowed. All the young talent are welcome to get in with them. Ricky Starks confirmed to me he's seen them workin..

One Of The Big Ones: WWE Has A Very Special View Of MJF

That’s what they like. WWE is the biggest and most powerful wrestling promotion in the world but that does not mean they are invincible. At some point, they are going to need to find the new generation to take the reigns from the current stars, some of whom have been around for a very long time. That means a young star could be a priority, and now WWE has someone in their sights. Earlier this week, a story emerged about Maxwell Jacob Friedman reportedly not being happy with his AEW contract status. There is a chance that Friedman could move over to WWE in 2024 when his current contract expires. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE may consider Friedman, 26 years old, as a “savior superstar” as the company needs young top stars for the future. The way WWE has treated Cody Rhodes upon his return to the company may be a factor as well, as he and Friedman are friends. Opinion: This is something that very well may wind up happening, but 2024 is an eternity away in wrestling..

VIDEO: Second Generation Star Makes NXT Debut

The new generation. There are a lot of wrestlers throughout the world today and some of them are the children of previous wrestlers. In a way, these wrestlers have a leg up on others as they have grown up around someone in the industry and have probably been given some insight on how things work. It can be fascinating to see how they do as a result and that seems to be the case again. Arianna Grace made her debut on NXT this week, appearing in a vignette announcing her entry into the first ever women’s Breakout Tournament. Grace is formerly known as Bianca Carelli and is the daughter of former WWE star Santino Marella. She has previously wrestled for the NWA and signed with WWE earlier this year. There is no word on if Santino will be appearing in WWE with Grace. Welcome to the team. Check out Graces’s debut: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is the kind of thing that can make for some very interesting moments as you do not know how well a second generation s..

WATCH: Special Family Reunion And Celebration After NXT

It’s a family thing. There are certain wrestling families that have been around for a very long time and whose names are going to be immediately known. Some of these families go on for more than one generation as some of the wrestlers’ children get into the business as well. That was the case again recently, and now one of the new generation has an accomplishment to share with the family. The main event of this week’s NXT New Year’s Evil saw Bron Breakker defeated Tommaso Ciampa to win the NXT Title. WWE has posted a video from after the show went off the air, featuring Breakker celebrating with his father, Rick Steiner. The video’s caption identifies Steiner by name, though Breakker has never been directly identified as part of the Steiner family on NXT TV. Ciampa also shook Steiner’s hand as he left the arena. It was an awesome moment. Check out the celebration, the title match, and the family in action: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click ..

We open with a recap of Grayson Waller attacking Johnny Gargano to end last week’s show. Waller arrives and gets booed by a bunch of fans, so he films a bit of the reaction. Run It Back: AEW Planning Huge Title Rematch

That’s a good place to start. Women’s wrestling has come a very long way in the last few years and thankfully that seems to be continuing in more than a few places. Several women have emerged as the stars of the new generation and there is nothing to suggest that it will be changing anytime soon. Now we might even know an upcoming major match on the horizon. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW may be planning a major Britt Baker vs. Thunder Rosa Women’s Title match for early next year. There is a chance that it will take place during the Revolution pay per view in March, though a specific date has yet to be announced. Rosa defeated Baker earlier this year in an unsanctioned match before Baker won the title. This should be awesome. There Is Another McMahon Getting Into Wrestling

They’re the new generation. There is something so easy to understand about a second generation wrestler. The name alone is going to be enough to give them a chance, but at the same time, they are going to have a bit more of an introduction to the wrestling world. It gives them a leg up, and now we are seeing someone else who has an even bigger foot forward. In a new interview with Alex McCarthy of TalkSport, Stephanie McMahon mentioned that her oldest daughter, Aurora Rose, has already begun in-ring training at age fifteen. In addition, McMahon’s youngest daughter, eleven, is interested in getting in the ring as well, but McMahon said she is more about the personality than the in-ring aspect. There is no word on who is handling the training. There are some great second generation stars. VIDEO: CM Punk Makes AEW Debut, First Match Set

Surprise? There are more than a few ways to tell a story in wrestling and one of the lesser used ideas is to more or less tell everyone what is coming. It isn’t something you see very often but if it works, it can work out really well. If it is something that people have been wanting to see for a very long time, that makes it even better. That was the case this week on television. CM Punk made his AEW debut during this week’s edition of Rampage. Punk spoke about how he had left professional wrestling when he signed with WWE but now he is back. While sitting in the same position he used in the Pipebomb promo, Punk talked about how he is here for the new generation and to settle some scores. Punk called out Darby Allin, who was in the rafters, for a match at All Out, which was later made official. After getting ready to leave, Punk told the fans that everyone was getting an ice cream bar as they left the arena. This was Punk’s first appearance on a major wrestling show since 2014, when..

KB’s Review: 7 The NXT Way

WWE is starting to come out of the Coronavirus pandemic and that makes for some interesting situations. Above all else, fans are coming back to the events in less than a month, but they are going to need something to watch. I don’t think I’m breaking any new ground when I say that most of what WWE is doing at the moment wouldn’t work, but what else is there? That is where the cavalry comes into play, and they’re wearing some fetching black and gold. One of the bigger stories to fly under the radar as of late is a group of NXT wrestlers likely being called up to the main roster. This can make for some of the most interesting moments of the year and now it seems that it is time for the new generation to rise up. I have no idea how that is going to go, but this week we are going to look at some of the names who might be on their way to the main roster. Note that most of these are names that could work and most of them are not rumored at this time. Also, I’m intentionally leaving off som..

More NXT Talents Scouted During SmackDown Dark Matches

The new generation. WWE is a huge wrestling company and that means they are going to need to do something to keep the interest up. One of the best ways to do this is to keep the talent pool moving, which they are certainly trying to do these days. That is where NXT comes in, as they have more than enough wrestlers to help boost things up. Now we might know who some of the next call ups could be. According to PWInsider.com, two more dark matches featuring NXT wrestlers took place before this week’s SmackDown taping. First up, Karrion Kross defeated Slapjack. Second, Shotzi Blackheart faced Scarlett. There is no word on who won either match or how either of them were received. This continues a recent run of NXT wrestlers working dark matches before television tapings. Kross is the reigning NXT Champion and has wrestled matches at the last three television tapings between Monday Night Raw and SmackDown. Scarlett is Kross’ valet in NXT and has yet to wrestle a match for the promotion. Bl..

Two NXT Champions Appearing On WWE TV This Week *SPOILERS*

Meet the new generation. WWE is a huge wrestling company and as a result they only have so many spots available for all of their talent. At some point you are going to have to bring in some fresh names as you can only do so much with what is currently available. That is where NXT comes in, and a lot of its roster has the skills to be called up immediately. It seems that we could be seeing that with two names soon. According to PWInsider.com, two NXT champions will be in action on this week’s edition of Main Event. During the show, North American Champion Bronson Reed defeated Drew Gulak and NXT Champion Karrion Kross defeated Shelton Benjamin. This comes after both Reed and Kross were brought in for last week’s SmackDown to work dark matches for scouting before possibly being called up to the main roster later this year. Reed has held the North American Title since March 7, when he defeated Johnny Gargano in a cage match. His most recent title defense took place in a six man winner t..

Can you blame her? There are certain moments in wrestling that you just know are special. It might be a great match, a great interview or a great segment, but when you see one of them, you know that you are seeing something that is going to be remembered for a long time. A lot of those moments come at WrestleMania, and that was the case again this weekend. The Women’s Revolution has changed the was wrestling world and that has been a very good thing. Nearly six years ago, a group of women came up from NXT and brought in a new generation of women’s wrestling, changing the way that everything worked. REVIEW: WrestleMania 21: We’re The New Generation

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net, starting today. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Wrestlemania XXI Date: April 3, 2005 Location: Staples Center, Los Angeles, California Attendance: 20,193 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler, Michael Cole, Tazz It’s the big one as things have to change at some point in WWE. I’m curious to see how this show goes as I haven’t seen the television leading up to it since the show aired so maybe the show will feel a little bit different. The theme is Wrestlemania Goes Hollywood, which has included some outstanding movie parody trailers. Oh and Batista an..
