Rampage Date: February 17, 2023 Location: Saves Auto Arena, Laredo, Texas Commentators: Jim Ross, Chris Jericho, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur It’s a special show this week with the show on at 7pm instead of the usual 10pm due to the NBA coverage. Therefore the show is call Slam Dunk as AEW stacks the card because it might be able to draw a good bit more fans this week. After months of speculation, MJF won the AEW World Championship on Saturday night at AEW Full Gear. Since his return, MJF has been pushed as an emerging babyface with a “clean victory’ over Jon Moxely being a point of pride for his character. When Thunder Rosa relinquished the AEW Women’s Championship back in August, the rumor mill went wild on her “injury status” and a bunch of other fabricated information. The title has been an Interim World Championship until her return on AEW television. Toni Storm claimed the belt and became the AEW Interim Women’s Champion at All Out in September. Everything has been going alright since then, but there’s a little bet of a booking issue. Storm is having a good reign, but it’s been a bit overshadowed by the return of Saraya and Britt Baker stealing the show. That means a barbed wire match between Eddie Kingston and Chris Jericho, with the rest of the Jericho Appreciation Society in shark cages. KB’s Review: It Makes Summerslam Sense
Last fall, the family went down to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (I didn’t have much of a choice so spare me the “why there” questions) for a vacation. It wasn’t my thing, but at one point I did head out and find a bookstore to pass some time. The store was adjacent to a local mall where I thought they might sell playing cards (one of my other passions, with a current collection of 923 decks (27 wrestling) and counting). Inside the mall I found….very little, as the place was mostly dead. One thing I did find though was an old school arcade inside a comic book store, with a ton of arcade cabinets and a row of pinball machines, including the old WWF Royal Rumble game. Each play was a quarter each so I ran through at least five bucks and had one of the best days of the entire trip there on my own. So what does this have to do with wrestling? Heck if I know, but what does pinball have to do with Summerslam? That’s something that has been bothering me about the build to this year’s Summer..

Good For Him: WWE Star Auctioning Off Ring Worn Gear For A Special Cause
That’s a nice thing to do. Wrestlers are in a weird place when it comes to celebrity status, as while they are known for being on television every week, they are still wrestlers at the end of the day. While that does not leave them with a lot of mainstream appeal, there are still several people who are huge fans. Now one wrestler is appealing to some of those fans for help with a good cause. Monday Night Raw’s Finn Balor is auctioning off some ring worn gear to benefit the Essex & Hertfordshire Air Ambulance. Injury Scare Takes Place At This Week’s NXT Taping (CONTAINS MINOR SPOILER)
That could have been worse. Injury scares are one of the worst things that you can see on a wrestling show as you never know how bad they might be. Someone could get hurt and have their careers ended, but thankfully that is not always the case. Occasionally you can get some good news that night, which seems to have been the situation this week after an NXT star was hurt. According to PWInsider.com, there was an injury scare for Gigi Dolin during this week’s NXT taping. On Wednesday during the taping for the June 14 show, Dolin was injured during her match when Cora Jade hit her with a cannonball senton. Dolin did not get up and the match ended shortly thereafter. However, during the June 21 taping later in the night, Dolin did appear in the arena, though she did not get physical. There is no word on what happened to her or how much time, if any, she might miss from the ring. Rampage Date: June 3, 2022 Location: Toyota Arena, Ontario, California Commentators: Excalibur, Taz, Chris Jericho We’re done with Double Or Nothing and a pretty solid Dynamite so things are looking up. The main event tonight is for the TNT Title as Scorpio Sky defends against Dante Martin, but there is also an announcement from CM Punk about the future of the World Title. That sounds a bit ominous so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Young Bucks vs. Lucha Bros Adam Cole is on commentary. He has some experience. There are some things that you will see in wrestling which you just do not see happening in other sports. That can often be due to the ring itself, which is quite the complicated setup. Sometimes it can be due to something literally falling apart, which took place at a recent WWE show. Now another WWE star is having a good time with the accident. Last week, Bobby Lashley narrowly escaped a very bad situation when the top rope broke and he crashed out to the floor. Lashley was ok following the crash and continued the match against Drew McIntyre.
