More On Recent AEW Debut And Signing

He’s a new one. The rise of AEW has allowed for a lot of new things, but one of the most important is a new high level platform for wrestlers to work on. After about twenty years of WWE being the only place to go, AEW has allowed for things to be shaken up. Several wrestlers get a new place to go and that was the case again last week. Now we know a little more about him. Last week’s edition of AEW Dynamite saw the debut of Buddy Matthews, formerly known as Buddy Murphy in WWE, who joined the House of Black. According to Fightful Select, AEW began talks with Matthews back in the fall, though it is not clear when the two sides came to an agreement. Impact Wrestling also made a play for Matthews but were unable to land him. Matthews is said to have made a good first impression, which was made even better when he declined to use a spot because it involved using another wrestler’s finishing move. He’s new. There have been a lot of movements around the wrestling world, with several prominent wrestlers jumping from one promotion to another. That can make for some very interesting moments as you don’t know when someone is going to show up. It is especially fun when you might get to see someone reach a new level of potential, which might be the case again this week. This week on AEW Dynamite, Buddy Matthews made his debut in an attack on Pac and Penta Obscura. Matthews helped the Kings of the Black throne attack Pac and Obscura, seemingly joining the House of Black in the process. Matthews is formerly known as Buddy Murphy in WWE, where he is a former Cruiserweight Champion. Black and Murphy feuded during their time together in WWE, which was referenced last week during a House of Black vignette. Welcome to the fold? There are certain things in wrestling that get your attention in a hurry and one of the best things is seeing someone come over from another promotion. This can make for some great moments as someone can make an impact straight out of the box after not being given such a chance elsewhere. That has been the case with several former WWE stars coming to WWE, and now we might be seeing it in three more cases. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, three former WWE stars are likely to come to AEW soon, while a third is a possibility. The two who are expected to be debuting soon are Jeff hardy and Shane Strickland (formerly known as Isaiah Swerve Scott in WWE). Big Surprise Free Agent Move Coming For Former WWE Universal Champion

That would be a big get. The wrestling world has changed a lot in recent months as WWE has let a ton of wrestlers go from the company. That is the kind of thing that is going to shake things up in a big way and it is going to be interesting go see how it all plays out. Different promotions are trying to pick up wrestlers here and there, and now we know where one might wind up. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Braun Strowman is expected to head to Impact Wrestling once his non-compete clause expires. This comes after Impact Wrestling executive Scott D’Amore said “Braun For Glory” during a recent Twitch stream. Strowman was released from WWE on June 2, meaning he would be allowed to appear at Bound For Glory on October 23, if not earlier. It’s a nice tease. Soon after Dean Ambrose was released from WWE, a video appeared on his social media accounts showing him escaping from prison. Fans began analyzing the video to look for clues and found a few things, but what mattered the most was the fact that people were talking. Ambrose then debuted for AEW as Jon Moxley and he was off to the races. Now someone is trying the same thing. Former WWE star Buddy Murphy has released a video to his social media accounts, featuring him standing in a prison cell, banging himself against a wall. What a mess. The biggest WWE story of the year has been the string of releases from the company. WWE has released dozens of wrestlers over the first six months of the year and there is always a chance of more taking place. The releases have been from all levels of the roster, including some from NXT. This led to some extra details, and now another released wrestler has revealed another big one. Earlier this week, Malaki Black, formerly Aleister Black in WWE, made his AEW debut on Dynamite. This was a bit confusing, as Black had only been released from WWE for thirty five days, rather than the usual ninety days. After, a report stated that the issue was over a clerical error, as Black’s clause was not changed from thirty days to ninety when he was moved from NXT to the main roster. What could have been. Earlier this month, WWE released nine wrestlers from their contracts, which offered quite the shakeup to the company’s roster. These releases came fairy out of nowhere though and that means there were chances for something else to happen. Now those plans will not be realized, but we do know what one of them might have been. According to Fightful Select, prior to his release from the company, WWE was considering reuniting Wesley Blake with his NXT tag team partner Buddy Murphy. The two had been meeting with WWE creative to come up with a way to reintroduce them to WWE programming but nothing ever took place. The idea came about after Blake’s other partner, Steve Cutler, was released from the company in January. Blake and Murphy appeared together in NXT, where they were managed by Alexa Bliss. Update On Rey Mysterio’s Injury Status And Recovery Time

That could be worse for Mysterio. One of the worst parts of a wrestler being injured is waiting to see how long they are going to be out. You never know how long it might be and wrestling fans do tend to like playing medical expert by trying to figure out how long someone is going to be on the shelf. This time around we might be getting some slightly better than expected news. On Sunday at Payback, Rey Mysterio teamed with his son Dominik Mysterio to defeat Seth Rollins and Murphy in a tag team match. That is quite the win for the family, but it did not have the happiest ending as Rey tore his tricep at some point. On a previous episode of Raw, Seth Rollins and Murphy lost their Tag Team Championships to the Street Profits, due to Kevin Owens delivering a Stunner to Rollins. This led to Montez Ford performing his Frog Splash on Rollins, and pinning him for the win. The feud between Owens and Rollins have been going on for quite some time. In fact, Rollins’ feud with Owens actually led Rollins to turn heel, although Rollins’ heel turn was also prompted by the fans turning on him during his feud with The Fiend Bray Wyatt. Now, Rollins leads a stable, which also includes Murphy and the AOP.
