WATCH: Roman Reigns Gets Extra Violent On Sami Zayn At WWE Live Event

It wasn’t over. WWE presents all kinds of wrestling events every year, many of which are aired on national television. At the same time, there are several events that only take place in front of the crowd, with the WWE cameras not rolling. Sometimes you will get to see some of the footage shot by fans though, and that was the case this week, with some big names featured. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Silver Screen: John Cena Set For Villain Role In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Film This weekend, Roman Reigns made a rare appearance at a WWE live event, defeating Sami Zayn to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Title in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Following the match, as shown in footage shot by a fan, Reigns said that Zayn was going to pay for his past actions and then attacked him again. Reigns had previously beaten Zayn in a title match at Elimination Chamber in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was a brutal one. One More: Sami Zayn Getting Another Title Shot Against Roman Reigns

Run it back. Every so often, you will run across a match that is built almost solely on emotion. The build to the match goes so well that by the time it actually rolls around, you almost have to see what happens. That can make for some very special moments and it is even better when you get to see the match take place. Now we are going to get to see the rematch. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He’s In Charge: Former WWE Champion Set To Host WrestleMania 39 The main event of WWE Elimination Chamber saw Sami Zayn challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title in Zayn’s hometown of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. While Zayn lost, it took some interference for Reigns to retain and the match was close throughout. Now WWE is running the match again, this time at a live event on March 4 at the Coca Cola Coliseum in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This marks a rare live event appearance for Reigns, who wrestles on a relaxed schedule. JUST ANNOUNCED! Canada’s own @SamiZayn takes on @WWERomanReig..

They Deserve It: WWE Hypes Several Records Broken At Elimination Chamber

They did well. WWE normally runs a premium live event a month on average, many of which have been running for a very long time now. It makes for quite the tradition as you know what you are going to get most of the time, which can help build up the anticipation. That was the situation over the weekend and now it seems that WWE has done rather well with its annual event. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Showdown Time: Here Are Two More Showdowns You Can Pencil In For WrestleMania 39 Over the weekend, WWE presented its annual Elimination Chamber event, featuring a pair of the show’s namesake matches and Roman Reigns defending the Undisputed WWE Universal Title against Sami Zayn. WWE has announced that the show is both the highest grossing and most viewed Elimination Chamber in history. The show also broke the record for the largest gate ever for a WWE event in the city of Montreal. It was an eventful show. Elimination Chamber 2023 Results

Elimination Chamber 2023 Date: February 18, 2023 Location: Bell Center, Montreal, Quebec, Canada Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves It’s the last major stop on the Road To Wrestlemania and this is all going to be about Sami Zayn vs. Roman Reigns. In spite of the show’s title, the Elimination Chamber matches are far, far down the ladder in importance from the main event, which should have one of the most electric atmospheres WWE has seen in years. Let’s get to it. The opening video looks at the Chamber matches, before shifting to the Zayn vs. Reigns main event. Women’s Elimination Chamber The winner moves on to face Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Title at Wrestlemania and there is no word on the length of intervals. Natalya is in first and Liv Morgan is in second to get things going. A shoulder runs Morgan over to start and they trade rollups for a standoff. They go outside with Natalya being sent into the Chamber wall a few times and Morgan kissing her on the cheek. Back u..

SmackDown Results – February 17, 2023

Smackdown Date: February 17, 2023 Location: Bell Center, Montreal, Quebec, Canada Commentators: Michael Cole, Wade Barrett We are a day away from Elimination Chamber and that means this is likely to be the Sami Zayn show. Tomorrow night the hometown boy Zayn gets his shot at Roman Reigns and I think the people might be a bit interested. Other than that we have Gunther defending the Intercontinental Title against Madcap Moss. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of last week’s Usos/Bloodline drama, with Jimmy Uso getting caught lying about Jey Uso and Sami Zayn. Hence Roman Reigns telling the Usos to stay home this week. Natalya/Shotzi vs. Ronda Rousey/Shayna Baszler Fallout from Rousey and Baszler hurting both of them. Baszler cranks on Natalya’s arm to start and it’s quickly off to Rousey for another battle over arm control. Shotzi comes in to actually take Rousey down, setting up Cattle Mutilation of all things. Rousey powers out but gets sent outside, allowing Shotzi to hit a pr..

They Are? Major Change On The Usos’ Elimination Chamber Status

That’s a different direction. The Bloodline saga has dominated the WWE landscape for over two years now and the story continues to unfold week after week. One of the most important players has been Jey Uso, who has supported his cousin Roman Reigns during most of the story. This has become a problem in recent weeks though, and now we know where a new twist might go. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Monday Night Raw Stable Recruits A Surprising New Member This coming Saturday, WWE will present its annual Elimination Chamber event from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, both Jey and his brother Jimmy Uso are currently scheduled to work the show. This is a twist on their normal status, as the Usos are not normally permitted to enter Canada due to their previous DUI convictions. The report did include the caveat that this could be a “swerve” or a “storyline”. The Usos do not currently have a match scheduled for the show. They’re an important piece. Check out t..

WRESTLING RUMORS: The Usos Are Likely To Miss Elimination Chamber

It’s a situation. WWE is an international wrestling promotion which runs events around the world. This has become even more prevalent in recent years and continues to be so to this day. Every year the company heads to Saudi Arabia for multiple shows, along with other international events. That will be the case again later this month, but two prominent names are not likely to be there. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: LOOK: NXT Star Suffers Nasty Injury At Vengeance Day (Contains Slightly Graphic Photo) On February 18, WWE will present its annual Elimination Chamber event from the Bell Center in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The event will be headlined by an Undisputed WWE Universal Title match between Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns. The story has been part of the Bloodline saga, which has involved the Usos. However, according to Wrestlingnews.co, the Usos are unlikely to be allowed into Canada due to their history of DUI incidents. There is no word on how the Usos’ absence would be explained. The Uso..

It’s Big: Here Is Why WWE Veered From The Usual Elimination Chamber Formula

That’s a compliment. We are on the Road To WrestleMania 39 and that includes a variety of stars getting ready for the most important event of the year. There is one more big stop to make on the way there though and that is Elimination Chamber. While the show is usually built around the show’s namesake matches, there is something else expected this year and it is already getting some special attention. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Not Like Most Returns? Possible Update On Nia Jax’s WWE Status After Royal Rumble The end of this year’s Royal Rumble event saw Sami Zayn turn on Roman Reigns and the Bloodline. According to F4WOnline.com, Zayn is expected to challenge Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at the event in Zayn’s hometown of Montreal. The show will also feature Elimination Chamber matches for the United States Title and a shot at the Raw Women’s Title at WrestleMania 39. These matches are usually for World Title level prizes, but WWE reportedly feels that those stakes are n..

WRESTLING RUMORS: Major Main Event Planned For WWE Elimination Chamber

That would be a big one. There are all kinds of ways to make a match feel more important. This could include adding in a stipulation or a gimmick, but it can also help to have someone special person involved. That could be one of a few different things, but now WWE is ready to have a match for a certain challenger in a location that would make things very interesting in a hurry. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: WWE Hall Of Famer Announces Return To The Ring The main event of last weekend’s Survivor Series saw Sami Zayn help the Bloodline win, with the team officially embracing him to end the show. However, according to Wrestlingnews.co, WWE is planning to have Zayn challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at Elimination Chamber. The show is set to take place in Zayn’s hometown of Montreal, Quebec, Canada on February 18, 2023. There is no word on how the story will be set up to get to the match. Zayn has become a major star and now we could be in for his biggest mat..

VIDEO: Edge Confirms Retirement Rumors; Potential Timeline Revealed

Last August, Edge openly admitted that his wrestling days were numbered after he made his return to WWE back in 2020. A part-time schedule and smart booking has allowed the WWE Hall of Famer to continue wrestling for the past three years in select feuds, but even he would be the first tell you that he’s wrestling on borrowed time. During a recent podcast episode of the Leafs Morning Take, Edge discussed a number of topics, including the Toronto Maple Leafs, the fact that the Montreal Screwjob was his first WWE PPV he attended as a talent and an update on the “clock ticking” on The Rated R Superstar’s wrestling career. Here’s the full appearance from Edge. Around the 8:50 mark is when he begins addressing the “closing window.” Edge announced his retirement plans back in August. Edge mentioned that he would be interested to officially end his career in Toronto next August. He’s talked about getting to choose his ending this time, but he’s an older man now. Recovery time is likely a l..

Road Dogg On Bret Hart: “I Don’t Think Bret Was That Great Of A Wrestler”

That’s an interesting take. There are a lot of different styles of wrestling, some of which can be on opposite sides of the spectrum. A wrestler might be a brawler, a grappler, a technician, a high flier or some combination of styles mixed together. You know one of the greats when you see one, but it turns out that one legend does not think so highly of another legendary name. During the latest edition of his Oh You Didn’t Know podcast, Road Dogg spoke about the Montreal Screwjob, featuring Bret Hart. Dogg said that he never got what the big deal was with Hart as a performer. While Dogg agreed that Hart was a much better wrestler, Dogg felt that he was a better sports entertainer than Hart and that he feels that is where the money is. Dogg went on to say that he did not mean any disrespect but he did not think Hart was that great of a wrestler. Here are some of the comments, with transcription courtesy of Wrestlingnews.co: On Hart’s abilities Compared To His Own “For me, personally,..

WWE Likely Changing Plans For Next Year’s Saudi Arabia Show

A change of schedule. There are a lot of WWE events throughout the year and some of them get a lot more attention than others. You know one of the bigger events when you see it and many of those take place in major stadiums. It means something when WWE goes to one of those bigger places and that will be the case again next year, but not as it normally happens. According to PWInsider.com, WWE’s first show in Saudi Arabia of 2023 will not take place in February, as has been the case in 2020 and 2022. Instead, the show is expected to take place “sometime in the spring”, though the exact date is unknown In 2022, WWE ran its annual Elimination Chamber event in Saudi Arabia in February, but the 2023 edition will take place in Montreal. Opinion: This is one of those things where it wasn’t a matter of if but when WWE would be heading to Saudi Arabia next year. At the end of the day, there is WAY too much money for WWE to make by presenting the shows and from a business perspective, they woul..

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Bringing Back Classic Pay Per View To Replace Annual Event

Welcome home (kind of). There are all kinds of events on the WWE calendar with some of them being built around one concept. Several of those shows have been presented for a very long time and that is the kind of thing that can leave fans looking forward to them every year. Now WWE has announced that another show is on its way back to North America next year. In addition, according to Xero News, this will be the final Elimination Chamber event, as No Way Out will be returning in 2024. This comes amid rumors of WWE getting rid of several gimmick themed shows. The Elimination Chamber in 2023 will be the last one. REVIEW: Survivor Series 1997: That One Night

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Survivor Series 1997 Date: November 9, 1997 Location: Molson Centre, Montreal, Quebec, Canada Attendance: 20,593 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler We had to get here eventually. This is the show that changes everything in wrestling, as we officially enter into the new era. It’s also the last appearance by Bret Hart in the WWF for nearly 13 years, as this show has the most infamous ending to a match and a show in wrestling history. You young people often hear references to Montreal? Well this is the show they’re..

KB’s Review: The Ghost Of Montreal

Twenty three years ago this week, the Montreal Screwjob took place at Survivor Series 1997. I’m not going to bother going into a big recap of the incident because it’s the most infamous night in the history of professional wrestling. There have been books, documentaries, podcasts and everything else you can imagine written/said/everything else about the whole thing. Everyone has talked about this at some point but today we are going to look at something that isn’t discussed enough. The Montreal Screwjob was a perfect storm of everything going wrong all at once. Between Bret Hart, Vince McMahon, WCW and everything else going on at the same time, there are only so many ways that this could have gone. The tensions were very high and after Hart had spent months talking about how he was getting screwed and everyone was against him, something huge taking place almost made perfect sense. It would have been easy to assume that it was just a storyline, though later on the details would come ou..

An Injured Superstar Returned To Action Before Raw Last Night

Before Raw last night in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion returned to action, partaking in a tag team match. The Brian Kendrick has been out of action for the past few months since receiving an injury from Hideo Itami via a botched GTS. This led to Jack Gallager being forced to go it alone. Gallagher would obviously go on to be part of the Cruiserweight Championship tournament and have mild success before being eliminated. Kendrick has appeared on 205 Live in recent weeks backstage but did not come out to compete. This changed on Raw. He predictably teamed with Gallager in a losing effort against Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik. Check out Kendrick coming out below: Brian Kendrick Is Back! #RAW #RAWMontreal pic.twitter.com/Yrp5EtjRO6 — Brian The Guppie (@briantheguppie) April 30, 2018 You can also see the finish of the match below: Great Finish! #wwemainevent #RAW #RAWMontreal pic.twitter.com/gWsgwSWaIk — Brian The Guppie (@briantheguppie) April 30, 2018 ..

Join the live coverage! Smackdown Date: May 1, 2018 Location: Bell Center, Montreal, Quebec, Canada Commentators: Tom Phillips, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton We’re still in Montreal and this time around it’s the go home show for Backlash. The big story tonight is Shinsuke Nakamura demanding an apology from AJ Styles. Other than that we need to build up Backlash quite a bit, but there’s so much fallout from the Greatest Royal Rumble to get through first. Let’s get to it. We open with a look at Shane McMahon being chokeslammed through the announcers’ table by Braun Strowman. Paige says that Shane won’t be here tonight before recapping AJ vs. Nakamura from Friday. As for Backlash, the title match is now No DQ. It’s time for MizTV. Miz cuts the fans chanting for Maryse off by saying he took her to Hollywood. That brings him to his Intercontinental Title match on Sunday with Seth Rollins. Jeff Hardy is the guest tonight so we’re ready to go. Miz won’t shake Jeff’s ha..

WWE Stars Experiencing Travel Issues

In what was a long week for some, just got longer. After traveling to Saudi Arabia for the 'Greatest Royal Rumble' event in what is nearly a 12-hour flight, immediately after the show concluded this past Friday the wrestlers who competed at the event where transported on planes from Saudi Arabia to the United States at midnight. According to PWInsider, a majority of the talents made it back to the U.S.Saturday afternoon coming through New York City's 'JFK' airport before getting on the flight that would take them to their respective homes. For some of the talents they only had 24 hours to enjoy home as they had to fly out Sunday to get ready for the TV tapings in Canada this week. The site notes that some talents were scheduled to fly back to New York and then connect at 'LaGuardia Airport' for a flight to Montreal. For the talents who had this schedule, after arriving to New York they discovered that that their flight to Montreal had been canceled..

Predicting the Next Three United States Champions

<p>AJ Styles just defeated Kevin Owens to become a two-time WWE United States Champion. With Styles looking to begin an open challenge, he will have many fresh challengers. One of these challengers will eventually dethrone Styles. Someone will dethrone the one who dethroned Styles. So on and so forth.</p><p>Who will be the next person to hold United States gold? Who will become a champion soon? Only time will tell, but here are some bold predictions. Who will become a United States champion before 2017 ends?</p><h4>3. Kevin Owens</h4><p></p><p>Styles is supposed to defend his championship next week on Smackdown. Given WWE’s recent fascination with nonsensical booking decisions, expect Owens to regain the title and become a four-time US Champion.</p><p>The match, if it’s anything like their last few matches, will be a mostly okay match. It will be good for a TV match. Eventually, though, some weird booking decision will work in Kevin Owens’ favor. Maybe the referee won’t see a weapon shot, or won’t see a rope break. Maybe Kevin Owens will pick up the whole announce table and hit AJ with it and the referee won’t know if he should disqualify Owens. At the end of a hard-fought match, though, Owens will walk away with the gold.</p><p>The next week, he’ll cut a promo saying he’s hosting an open challenge. Styles will answer, and Owens will deny him. Either Daniel Bryan or Shane McMahon will book  the match for the following week, because ratings or something. Whatever. Styles will get his rematch.</p><p>What will happen after Styles gets his rematch? It’s easy.</p><h4>2. AJ Styles</h4><p></p><p>At the rematch, AJ Styles will channel the strength of his home state of Georgia. With the weight of 10 million people squarely on his shoulders, Styles will vanquish that dastardly Canadian Kevin Owens and become a three-time United States champion. Ideally, the match would be a no holds barred street fight. The Atlanta Falcons will all be at ringside (despite the show being held in Providence, Rhode Island), and they’ll all attack Kevin Owens. Then the Montreal Canadiens will show up and attack the Falcons. Styles will then perform a Styles Clash to Kevin Owens off the top rope, outside the ring, and onto both teams, who are conveniently brawling near the turnbuckle. Amidst all the strewn bodies at ringside, Styles will roll Owens’ lifeless body into the ring and get the three-count.</p><p>Next week, AJ will announce that he’s holding an Open Challenge. John Cena will answer, because reasons. Kevin Owens will also appear, along with Jinder Mahal. They’ll have a tag team match, and Owens will face Styles at Summerslam for the United States Championship.</p><p>What happens at Summerslam? I think you know.</p><h4>1. Kevin Owens</h4><p></p><p>At Summerslam, Kevin Owens will defeat AJ Styles in a 60-minute 6-pack Iron Man Elimination match that will also feature <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/sami-zayn" title="Sami Zayn">Sami Zayn</a></strong>, <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/tye-dillinger" title="Tye Dillinger">Tye Dillinger</a></strong>, <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/aiden-english" title="Aiden English">Aiden English</a></strong>, and Mike Kannelis. Owens will eliminate Styles by fighting with the weight of 35 million people on his shoulders. Styles will be fighting with the weight of 323 million people on his shoulders, but since his burden is heavier, Owens capitalizes on that and wins.</p><p>Owens will once again proclaim that he will be hosting an open challenge. Styles will demand a match, but Owens will deny him, saying he’s fought him too many times. Styles moves to the back of the line, and Kevin Owens faces new challengers.</p><p>Kevin Owens will then hold on to the United States Championship for the rest of his career. He’ll retire 10 years later, still the United States champion. At his last ever match, it will be for the championship. The match will end in a DQ, and Owens gets to retire with the title, forever the New Face of America.</p>
