Changing roles can be good sometimes. NXT Trainer and Coach Matt Bloom recently appeared on the ‘Real Monster Radio’ show, where he discussed a number of topics. One of them was the status of a former NXT superstar, now turned coach. Bloom had the following to say about Oney Lorcan: “My position now as a head coach, I oversee my coaches,” Bloom said. “I have an amazing staff. So, I gotta give props to those guys. Unless I’m forgetting something, this is the first time NXT has left Orlando for a televised event since Stand & Deliver over Wrestlemania weekend. At some point they just need to get out of Florida and heading to Charlotte is as good of a way as any. The card actually has me interested this time, though the television show from this week wasn’t so great. Maybe they can overcome that with a good one here so let’s get to it. North American Title: Wes Lee(c) vs. Dijak We’ll start off with one that can go either way as Dijak is a monster who can run through a lot of people and Lee is someone who could be champion for a nice run. This has been built up for a few weeks with Dijak speaking more and more like an 80s movie villain. Lee has turned into a much better star than I would have expected him to be and this is a tossup so far. Now it seems that WWE is interested in putting together a bunch of people under quite the monster leader. Last weekend at Extreme Rules, Bray Wyatt returned to the company after a year plus absence. That would certainly be different. There is no one in wrestling history like Brock Lesnar and there never will be again. Lesnar has a blend of amateur wrestling abilities, charisma and natural strength that may never be matched and WWE sees to know it. WWE has presented Lesnar as the ultimate monster and that means it is difficult to find opponents for him. Now though, they might have an idea. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE may be considering UFC Hall Of Famer Daniel Cormier as Lesnar’s next opponent. Cormier and Lesnar had a staredown in the UFC but never fought each other. So much for that. Stables are one of the most logical ideas in a wrestling company as a promotion might have too many wrestlers to use on their own. That means the best solution might be to put some of them together as a group, which is a common practice in AEW. Now though, one member of one of the stables seems to have left his group in a rather physical manner. This week on AEW Dynamite, Team Taz’s Ricky Starks lost the FTW Title to Hook in an impromptu title match. Following the match, Starks talked about how he was having a string of setbacks but he was proud of what he did with the FTW Title. As he was speaking, his Team Taz teammate Powerhouse Hobbs attacked him from behind. On commentary, Taz seemed surprised at Hobbs’ actions as Hobbs seemed to leave Team Taz. You see wrestlers get hurt all the time in one way or another, but there are often other issues that take place beneath the surface that you might not know about unless someone brings it up. That is the case again, and this time it is something rather important. Rhea Ripley has revealed that she is currently wearing a heart monitor. History has been made! There are a lot of titles under the WWE banner and some of them have been around for a very long time. Those titles are the ones that can kick start a wrestler’s rise to the top and the Intercontinental Title has a history of doing just that. The title might not have a perfect record, but winning it can be a great sign. That might be the case again. This week on SmackDown, Gunther defeated Ricochet to win the Intercontinental Title for the first time in his career. Gunther debuted on SmackDown in April and has gone undefeated since then, with his match against Ricochet being his first title shot.
