WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Plans To Return SmackDown Star To Previous Gimmick

He’s back? There are all kinds of ways to present talented wrestlers but not all of them are going to be hits. Occasionally you will see someone go from an idea that works very well to something that just misses and there is little way to predict what is going to happen. That was the case again recently in WWE, but now there is a chance of switching back to what worked before. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He’s A Fan: Undertaker Endorses His Choice To Defeat Roman Reigns In March 2022, former NXT star Pete Dunne made his full time debut on SmackDown as part of the Brawling Brutes. Butch also was now a wild man who would run around the arena and try to fight any opponent he could, unlike his more calm demeanor before the name change. According to WrestleVotes via GiveMeSport, Triple H is planning to return Butch to his former name by the end of the year at the latest. Butch ha..

WATCH: Two SmackDown Stars Tease Big Heel Turn

To the other side? No matter how talented a wrestler might be, there is always going to be a time when they need some kind of a freshening up. Maybe they need a different look or a different character, but occasionally the right answer is a different direction. The most common version of this is to have a wrestler turn good or bad, and now two WWE stars are teasing such a change. Welcome Home: Another Monday Night Raw Star Set For NXT Return

It’s a homecoming. NXT has been a complete game changer for WWE, as the company has its own developmental system, which happens to air on national television. It’s A Way Out: Speculation Over How WWE Could Solve Tag Team Titles Dilemma

It’s a family thing. Tag team wrestling has been undergoing a bit of a resurgence in WWE as of late, with more teams being formed and a more competitive division overall. While this has been going on, the Usos have reigned on high as one of the most dominant teams in WWE history. However, a change in plans might require someone else in the family to step in for a change. At the Royal Rumble, the Bloodline attacked Sami Zayn but Jey Uso refused to get involved, resulting in Uso not appearing this week on SmackDown. The Usos have a Tag Team Title defense scheduled against Braun Strowman and Ricochet next week on SmackDown, though there is doubt over whether Jey will team with his brother Jimmy. During a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer speculated (rather than reported) that WWE could have the Usos’ brother Solo Sikoa team with Jimmy in Jey’s place. Jimmy and Sikoa teamed together this week in a dark match after SmackDown. Jey is still scheduled for the title matc..

Below are some highlights from the interview: On another match with Brock Lesnar: “You know the interesting thing about Brock and I. I just met Brock maybe a couple years ago. Everybody was talking about us having this matchup for probably the beginning of my career back in 2005, but we never crossed paths. When he went to MMA, I was still in professional wrestling. I went to MMA, he went to professional wrestling and we just kind off kept messing with each other and not since probably maybe a few years ago did we first meet. There hasn’t been too much interaction between the two of us. We’ve had a few matches, a few interactions that have happened on screen, but outside of that Brock’s kind of a guy that kind of keeps it to himself. So th..

Ouch: New AEW Star Injured At Big Independent Show Over The Weekend

That could be bad. Injuries are one of the worst things that can happen in wrestling. Not only do they put a wrestler on the shelf for an undetermined period of time, but they also can happen out of nowhere. Some injuries are built up over time and then flare up during a match, which appears to have been the case with a national star who was appearing for a major independent show. WATCH: WWE Stable Turns Heel In Surprise Switch On SmackDown

They switched. Stables are an interesting concept in wrestling as you can have a bunch of wrestlers together in one group to let them get more television time. That seems to be the case this week, as a team of wrestlers is now going in a rather different direction for the first time in this place. That Takes Guts: How Brock Lesnar Was Reportedly Called Out To Fight Backstage At WWE Event

That could have been interesting. Throughout its history, wrestling has drawn athletes from other sports into its ranks. It makes sense, as wrestling needs to keep its rosters fresh and bringing in other sports’ stars can help make the process easier.
