Bobby Lashley on Another Match With Brock Lesnar: “It’s About To Happen”

Bobby Lashley was recently interviewed by the Hindustan Times where he discussed a number of topics. Among them was another match with Brock Lesnar, an angle with Chris Masters from back in the day, which title he wants to go after next, and more. Below are some highlights from the interview: On another match with Brock Lesnar: “You know the interesting thing about Brock and I. I just met Brock maybe a couple years ago. Everybody was talking about us having this matchup for probably the beginning of my career back in 2005, but we never crossed paths. When he went to MMA, I was still in professional wrestling. I went to MMA, he went to professional wrestling and we just kind off kept messing with each other and not since probably maybe a few years ago did we first meet. There hasn’t been too much interaction between the two of us. We’ve had a few matches, a few interactions that have happened on screen, but outside of that Brock’s kind of a guy that kind of keeps it to himself. So th..

WATCH: Max Caster Messes Up Rap During AEW Rampage Taping (And It’s Funny)

It’s not easy. Wrestling is a very tricky art form to master and there are all kinds of different issues that can make things all the more complicated. In addition to the matches themselves, there is everything else that the wrestlers have to do in front of the live fans. Every now and then you are going to see something go wrong and now we have a clip that you will probably not see on television. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: It’s Broken: AEW Sets New Record With This Week’s AEW Dynamite This week on AEW Dynamite, a segment involving the Acclaimed was announced for this week’s edition of Rampage. As Rampage was taped after Dynamite, a clip of the Acclaimed’s entrance has surfaced online, featuring Max Caster doing one of his customary raps. However, this time Caster messed up the first verse of his rap and had to start over. Caster and Billy Gunn acknowledged the error and then redid the entrance. There is nothing to suggest that this will air on television. This was good for a chuckle. C..

SmackDown Results – December 30, 2022

Smackdown Date: December 30, 2022 Location: Amalie Arena, Tampa, Florida Commentators: Michael Cole, Wade Barrett It’s the final show of the year and that means we are going to be seeing more than a few big things this week. First and foremost, John Cena is back for his only match of the year as he teams with Kevin Owens to face Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns. In addition, we have the Women’s Title on the line as Ronda Rousey defends against Raquel Rodriguez. Let’s get to it. Here’s is Bray Wyatt for an opening chat. Wyatt does not see himself as a good person but he does try. Looking back at how he got here, he doesn’t regret much, but last week he did something that he did regret. Last week, he apologized a cameraman in cold blood and….here is LA Knight to interrupt. Knight cannot believe that the master of the mind games is here to apologize because he doesn’t buy any of this. Wyatt has been playing mind games and now it is time to pay the check. Knight remembers Wyatt being somethin..

Back Soon: AEW Star Reveals Recent Knee Surgery

That could keep him out for a bit. AEW’s roster has been built up from several varieties of wrestlers. The company consists of current stars, up and coming wrestlers and legends, all of whom have come together for a variety of storylines and matches. Now though, one of the biggest names the company has is going to be missing in action for a bit due to a needed medical procedure. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Maybe Not? Conflicting Reports On Reason Behind Miro’s AEW Absence AEW’s Sting recently appeared on the K&C Masterpiece podcast and revealed he had knee surgery “six or seven weeks ago” in order to clear his knees out. Sting also spoke about how important physical therapy is to the recovery process. He did not say when he would be able to return to the ring. Sting last wrestled at AEW Full Gear on November 19 in a tag match. Sting has done quite well during his time in AEW. REVIEW: Survivor Series 2000: Austin Does Machinery

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Survivor Series 2000 Date: November 19, 2000 Location: Ice Palace, Tampa, Florida Attendance: 18,602 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler It’s old school time and as luck would have it, we’re going with something from one of the best eras the company has ever had. Steve Austin is back from his neck surgery and going after the mastermind behind his attack with another match against HHH. At the same time, we have the Rock vs. Rikishi, who famously did it for da Rock. Let’s get to it. The opening video looks at HHH bei..

WATCH: Kayla Braxton NAILS IT In Latest WWE Halloween Costume

The tradition continues. Wrestlers are a lot of things but at the end of the day they are performers. They spend a long time getting to the point where they can do what they do at such a high level, including mastering their characters. Figuring them out can be rather difficult, but it can be quite the compliment when someone else figures them out almost as well. Over the last few years, Kayla Braxton has dressed as Paul Heyman and Sami Zayn for Halloween. WWE’s The Bump Instagram page has posted a video of Braxton and an unidentified person dressed as the Usos for this year’s Halloween. The two have Uso hats, painted on bears and a pair of title belts each. There is no word on if this will be mentioned on WWE TV. This is pretty impressive. Check out Braxton as an Uso: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is a case of imitation being the sincerest form of flattery as Braxton has clearly studied the Usos enough to make something like this work. The Halloween costu..

Former WWE Star Pitches Idea For Return After 11 Year Absence

It’s an idea. There are a lot of ways to present a wrestler and nostalgia can be one of the most entertaining. It can be a lot of fun to see a wrestler from days past show up again after a long absence. If it is in a way that you might not expect but still fits, everything can be better. A former WWE star is now pitching a return in a spot that suits him about as perfectly as can be asked. During an appearance on the 10 Count podcast, former WWE star Chris Masters pitched an idea for a Royal Rumble return. Masters suggested that he return during the Royal Rumble when Bobby Lashley had someone in the Hurt Lock, playing up the idea of the Hurt Lock vs. Masters’ Masterlock full nelson. There is nothing to suggest that WWE is interested in bringing Masters, who last wrestled in WWE in 2011, back for another run with the company. Opinion: While I don’t know if I can imagine WWE actually going in this direction, it certainly is an idea for a story. Maybe that is where WWE goes one day and ..

39 Year Old Former WWE Star Wants Third Stint With Company

He wants back in. There have been a lot of stars to appear in WWE over the decades and some of them have made quite the impact. Whether or not they were major successes in the company, they have done something to get the fans’ attention. Some of those stars leave over the years, but that does not mean their time in WWE is over. One former star is now hoping for a third run with the promotion. Former WWE star Chris Masters, 39 years old, has sent out a tweet mentioning the 2023 Royal Rumble and saying that he has been away from WWE for twelve years. The image includes a fan sign saying BRING CHRIS MASTERS BACK. Masters wrestled two stints in WWE over the years, from 2005-2007 and 2009-2011. There is no word on if WWE is interested in bringing Masters back. In between and after his time with WWE, Masters has wrestled in a variety of independent and smaller promotions. 2023 Royal Rumble? I mean it has been 12 freaking years???#wweuniverse #royalrumble #wwe #2023 #wrestling #smackdownliv..

Vince McMahon Wants To Release His Memoirs

That would be worth a read. There are several major names in wrestling history but all of them pale in comparison to Vince McMahon. Whether you like him or not, there is no denying that he is the most powerful person the wrestling industry has ever seen. McMahon has been around for the better part of fifty years and that means he is going to have some stories to tell. Now, he looks ready to tell them. According to the New York Post, McMahon is shopping his memoir around to various publishers. The story is written by McMahon and tells the story of how he took over the wrestling industry. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the idea is to put the book head to head with the book Ringmaster by Abraham Riesman, a McMahon biography due out in 2023. There is no word on if or when McMahon’s memoir would be released. Opinion: This is interesting as you can all but guarantee that someone, somewhere, will publish McMahon’s book. McMahon is someone who has dominated an industry and t..

Former WWE Star Now Has A Pretty Important Job

It’s a living. Wrestlers are like any other athletes in that eventually their career is going to come to an end. At some point they are going to have to hang up their boots and move on to something else. Some wrestlers are going to be around longer than others, but there are some who leave wrestling early and need another career. Now we know what a former WWE star is doing after his in-ring career is over. Miranda Gordy was a guest on a recent edition of the Wilde On podcast and discussed her brother Ray Gordy, who wrestled as Jesse and Slam Master J in WWE. Miranda revealed that Ray is retired from wrestling and is now a police officer and SWAT team member in Georgia. Ray’s most recent match took place on the WrestleMania 26 Kickoff Show in 2010. He did appear at the 2016 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony for his father, Terry Gordy’s, induction as part of the Fabulous Freebirds. Opinion: While Ray might not have been the biggest star in WWE, there is something interesting about s..

WWE Rebranding Even More Upcoming Events

That’s what’s in a name. WWE has been around for a long time now and has some very long running shows. Some of these are among the most famous in wrestling, with names such as WrestleMania and Royal Rumble being near or at the top of the list. The company continues to add some more though, and now they are doing just that with a show a lot of people will probably never see. Ticketmaster.com is currently advertising the May 1 live event in Fairfax, Virginia as Sunday Stunner, which is a name the company trademarked earlier this month. This is likely to be the name of several Sunday night live events going forward. The change comes just after WWE began promoting some of its Saturday shows as Saturday Night’s Main Event, though neither change has been announced on WWE television. Opinion: Sure why not. This is one of those changes that likely won’t mean anything significant and is little more than a branding, but it does at least sound like something interesting. I could go for having s..

Monday Night Raw Star Announces Very Special Accomplishment

That’s a heck of an accomplishment. Wrestlers have a lot of things to do in their industry, including several championships. Some of them are more prestigious than others, but it means something to be able to put a title belt around your waist. At the same time though, there are other accomplishments that mean even more and have nothing to do with wrestling. A WWE star achieved one of them this week. Monday Night Raw star Chad Gable has announced that he has graduated from Full Sail University with a Masters of Fine Arts with a focus on Media Design. Gable graduated with a 4.0 GPA as the valedictorian and earned the Advanced Achievement Award for student most likely to succeed in their field. During the Coronavirus pandemic, Gable felt that he wanted to use some of the resources available to him, including a partnership between WWE and Full Sail University. Gable is currently part of the Alpha Academy with Otis on Monday Night Raw. Graduated… time to play Earthbound. Anyone else st..

KB’s Review: The All Out Four

It is pretty rare that you see a show getting the kind of nearly universal acclaim that AEW’s All Out 2021 is receiving. That show was a near masterpiece and one of the best shows I’ve seen in a very, very long time. Outside of some Takeovers, it might be the best show I’ve seen in about ten years or more. The interesting thing though is how few people are talking about the actual matches. That leaves a lot to talk about….and it is going to continue to be that way because we’re going to be talking about the really cool debuts. All Out was built around a huge card but the show ended with a pair of huge debuts. Those were the third and fourth debuts of the night and that is what will be remembered from the event. All of them open at least a bit of a door (level of forbiddenness may vary) and today we are going to look at each one of them today. Some of them are bigger than others, but each one deserves at least a look. Minoru Suzuki Is A Scary Human Being One of AEW’s major deals has b..

AEW Beating WWE In WWE’s Backyard

I’d call that a success. One very important aspect to a wrestling event is the arena itself. The show needs a good, solid place to take place and when it is not working, you can tell rather easily. Some arenas are certainly better than others, or at least more famous. Almost every major promotion has had a home base of some sort, but one of them is not doing so well at the moment. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, as of Thursday July 15, the upcoming AEW Dynamite event on September 22 at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City is outselling the September 10 SmackDown in Madison Square Garden. The special edition Dynamite, which will be dubbed Grand Slam, has 8,000 seats filed at the moment, with 6,600 paid, only from the pre-sale. On the other hand, SmackDown has sold about 4,500 tickets after a week on sale. One important detail to the ticket sales is the ticket prices. According to Ticketmaster, the highest priced ticket for the AEW event is $250 and the lowest is $25. The highes..

MVP Wins His Own World Championship

That’s a big win. There have been some cool moments in 2020 with some of them leading to bigger things down the line. One of the moments that might have flown under the radar at the time was the return of MVP, who came back to WWE at the Royal Rumble and has stuck around ever since. He has been made into a manager, but that does not mean he is completely done competing. The Hurt Business has become one of the hottest things on Monday Night Raw in recent months and they have done it in style. The team has a great look and has dominated almost everyone they have come across so far. They have also won various titles, including the Raw Tag Team and United States Title, but that left MVP without some gold. However, that is no longer the case. MVP sent out a tweet with a photo of the Hurt Business posing with their titles, while MVP was holding a gold medal. In the tweet, MVP revealed that he had won the gold medal in a recent IBJJF Masters Tournament Brazilian jiu-jitsu competition this p..

WATCH: Miami Dolph Does Awesome Steve Austin Impression

He’s kind of a legend. There are certain names that keep coming up in the history of wrestling greats and Steve Austin is almost always on that list. Austin was a master at just about every aspect of wrestling and his style certainly got him some attention over the years. Various things that he has done over the years have become iconic, and you can still see them around today, which was the case this weekend. There are several things that Austin is noted for and one of the biggest is beer. Austin was famous for drinking several beers after a match, often declaring a beer bash to end his shows. It was such a big part of his persona that he has released his own brand of beer in his retirement. Austin and beer go together, and now another kind of athlete is paying a bit of a tribute to him. You might recognize this. Check out a pretty cool Austin tribute: https://media.wrestlingrumors.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/15022217/Mack-Hollis-Steve-Austin.mp4 The Miami Dolphins have posted a..

WWE Has Their Own Mastercards (With Pictures And Everything!)

That’s some special merchandising. WWE has all kinds of merchandise and that has been the case for decades. If there is one thing that the company knows how to do, it is finding a way to make fans want something they see on television. That is the kind of thing that can make WWE a lot of money, and in this case we have some more money being involved in the whole thing. There are a lot of ways to watch WWE and while some may be cheaper than others, they almost all cost money. That is something that is never going to change and while you might be able to save a few dollars here and there, at the end of the day, you are going to pay to watch something WWE related whether you like it or not. Now though, you can pay with something that looks like WWE. In association with NetSpend, WWE has unveiled a line of prepaid Mastercards featuring a variety of options, including Randy Savage, Becky Lynch, New Day and more. The cards were announced earlier this week and do not seem to offer any kind ..
