Impact Wrestling Results – March 9, 2023

Impact Wrestling Date: March 9, 2023 Location: Sam’s Town Live, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt We are on our way to a trio of shows with Sacrifice, Multiverse United and Rebellion, which makes for quite the packed series of builds. That got started last week with a little something for each show getting time, but they are going to have to do it again for the next few weeks. Let’s get to it. Opening recap. Here is Bully Ray to get things going. At No Surrender, Tommy Dreamer used the words “someone like me” (meaning Ray). What did he mean when he said that? Did he mean a two time Hall of Famer or half of the greatest tag team ever? Maybe a two time World Champion? Ray wishes he knew what Dreamer meant, because he threw hot coffee into Dreamer’s face. Dreamer wants a Busted Open match at Sacrifice but there is no way Dreamer is making it there. Cue Santino Marella to call Bully “Bobby Ray” and say that Dreamer will be at Sacrifice. It was only a minor ..

There’s your cameo. There have been all kinds of wrestlers throughout history and some of them are names who do not make the biggest impact. After a nearly ten year hiatus, Miller returned to the ring in 2015 and still wrestles occasionally. Miller certainly had some interesting ..

NXT Star Announces She Needs Surgery

She’s out for a bit. You never know when you are going to see an injury take place in the wrestling world and that is never a good thing. Wrestlers can be put on the shelf at any point for any length of time and it becomes a question of how long it will be before they are able to get back in the ring. Unfortunately that is the case again with a young, up and coming star. NXT’s Arianna Grace has announced that she has suffered an undisclosed injury and will be undergoing surgery next week. There is no word on how long she will be out, but Grace has promised to document her recovery process on social media. Grace is the daughter of Santino Marella and has been in NXT since the beginning of the year. She has recently been teaming with Kiana James. Hey you guys!!!! Sadly, I’m injured and will have surgery next week. I’m going to do all I can to recover properly and come back stronger so I can get back to doing what I love, performing for all of YOU! I can’t wait to get back in the ring ?..

VIDEO: Second Generation Star Makes NXT Debut

The new generation. There are a lot of wrestlers throughout the world today and some of them are the children of previous wrestlers. In a way, these wrestlers have a leg up on others as they have grown up around someone in the industry and have probably been given some insight on how things work. It can be fascinating to see how they do as a result and that seems to be the case again. Arianna Grace made her debut on NXT this week, appearing in a vignette announcing her entry into the first ever women’s Breakout Tournament. Grace is formerly known as Bianca Carelli and is the daughter of former WWE star Santino Marella. She has previously wrestled for the NWA and signed with WWE earlier this year. There is no word on if Santino will be appearing in WWE with Grace. Welcome to the team. Check out Graces’s debut: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is the kind of thing that can make for some very interesting moments as you do not know how well a second generation s..

Daughter Of Former WWE Star Signs With WWE, Starting At Performance Center

Keep it in the family. There are certain wrestling families that have been around for a long time with all kinds of members. Names such as the Anoa’i and Hart families have been around for a very long time and still have members debuting even in modern times. Some of these might have more success than others, but now we might be seeing a new family get itself further established. During a recent appearance on Stories With Bradshaw And Brisco, former WWE star Santino Marella announced that his daughter, Bianca Carelli, has signed with WWE. Marella said that she will be starting at the Performance Center in two weeks and mentioned that Carelli has a background in television and was Ms. Teen Ontario. She made her debut in 2020 and has wrestled for the NWA at its Empower event. Opinion: I’m not sure what Carelli can do in the ring but there must be something to her if she is being signed to WWE. Having her around at the Performance Center should do some good things for her career, though..

The new generation. WWE’s roster has undergone all kinds of changes in recent months and there is nothing to suggest that those changes are going to be ending anytime soon. The tryout features several potential new signees, including reigning Ring of Honor Women’s Champion Rok-C. Other names involved were D-Von Dudley’s sons, Santino Marella’s daughter and Notorious Mimi, who has been a regular on AEW Dark. There is no word on any names that WWE is interested in signing. Why Titus O’Neil Is One of the Best Parts of RAW Right Now

The Titus Brand bandwagon (Brandwagon?) is coming this way, and I am here to say that I will be climbing aboard. The man used to be a reason to reach for the fast-forward button. Now he’s one of the more entertaining members of the roster. It took a while, but Titus O’Neil has found his niche on the roster. But why is the Titus Brand now a big deal? Allow me to explain.

Titus O’Neil Has Always Been Capable on the Mic

After Titus cut that dreadful promo on Raw after Summerslam (you know the one I’m talking about), everyone said he was hot garbage on the microphone. That’s simply not true. When he would work commentary, many praised him for his wit and good speaking ability. He sounded very natural. Barring the return of the Dudleys where he spent a good amount of time yelling incoherently, he was good.

Batista himself has said Titus would make a very good public speaker. I do think Titus is a good speaker. However, he’s better off staying away from those dead-serious promos. The reason the “I want Darren” promo sucked is because you could tell Titus was out of his element. When you watch him trying to earn a spot in the New Day or pushing his Titus Brand, he’s clearly more comfortable and more natural sounding. You have to play to a superstar’s strengths. You wouldn’t make Stone Cold cut a John Cena promo. Roman Reigns should avoid talking like Santino Marella. Bayley should avoid talking at all (I jest).

Now that Titus is having his strengths played to, he’s clearly better off. You can tell that he’s having fun. Dancing with the New Day, stealing Enzo Amore’s intro for himself, and all that jazz.

The Titus Brand Is Hilarious

Of course, humor is subjective, but many people, myself included, enjoy Titus’ segments on Raw. Ever since he moved away from Darren Young and began holding press conferences with Tom Phillips, he’s been a good bit of harmless fun. The “Tussle in Texas” was a particularly entertaining bout. It was hyped up as a legit fight, complete with a tale of the tape. 1 minute later, Titus is pinned after eating a World’s Strongest Slam from Mark Henry.

The addition of Apollo Crews to the Titus Brand will make for an even more interesting dynamic. Clearly Crews isn’t 100 percent on-board with the Brand. Still, he goes along with whatever wacky adventure Titus drags him to. Although O’Neil is very clearly a heel (a heel who just called the state of New Jersey “poor ass”), Crews is not entirely bad just yet. Titus receives all the heat, all while allowing Crews to slowly develop a character.

People have compared the two to LaVar and Lonzo Ball. To those who don’t know, Lonzo Ball is a Drake lookalike who many expect will be drafted in the next NBA Draft. LaVar is his loudmouth father who gets into all sorts of trouble. The comparison is there, and it works. Lonzo just wants to chill and play basketball, but LaVar keeps running his mouth and hyping him up as the Second Coming of Jesus. Same with O’Neil and Crews. Apollo just wants to wrestle and have fun, while Titus spews a whole lot of nonsense.
