AEW Stable Was Split Up Because of “Experts”

If you know, you know. QT Marshall recently took to Twitter and gave an explanation for why his stable, The Factory, was split up in AEW. According to Marshall: We did some fun stuff. Unfortunately, the amount of Factory hate from the “experts” in wrestling was too much and the group had to disband. We did some fun stuff. Unfortunately, the amount of Factory hate from the “experts” in wrestling was too much and the group had to disband. But keep your eyes on @BigShottyLee @realcolekarter @AaronSoloAEW @Mr_Freakbeast https://t.co/JpUu7z1jN2 — QT Marshall (@QTMarshall) March 5, 2023 It should be noted that it is unknown if he was referring to upper management of the company or the fans when he was referring to “experts”. The Factory was formed on the March 31, 2021 episode of Dynamite, when Marshall, along with Anthony Ogogo, Nick Comoroto and Aaron Solow attacked The Nightmare Family. Editor’s Opinion: Let’s see…the company breaks up a stable because certain “experts” don’t like..

He’s A Wild Card: WWE CEO On Vince McMahon Possibly Stepping Away From The Company

That would be a game changer. For about forty years, Vince McMahon has been at the helm of WWE. Last year, McMahon went away for about five months due to a scandal, only to come back in an effort to sell the company. That could be the biggest change in the history of WWE, but now the question becomes what happens once the move is made. We might know one detail that could be another game changer. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He Was Busy: Here Is Why WWE Did Not Run Rumored Edge Matches One of the points of contention of a WWE sale is what would happen to McMahon after the sale was completed. WWE held its fourth quarter earning call earlier this week with CEO Nick Khan taking questions. One reported asked if McMahon would step away from the company if it was in the WWE shareholders’ best interest. Here is Khan’s reply, with transcription courtesy of Fightful: “Yes. Without question. He’s declared it to the board. He’s declared it to us in management. It’s all about shareholder value. Obviou..

It Didn’t Work: Bryan Danielson Reveals How He Tried To Get Fired From WWE Job

He wanted out. There are all kinds of different WWE programs every week and not all of them involve actual wrestling. The company regularly features a variety of shows recapping recent action or focusing on interviews with wrestlers. Those shows have their own regular hosts, but a former one is now recalling a time when he was desperately trying to get off his own show. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Try Him: AEW Reportedly Planning Push For Popular Star Bryan Danielson appeared on Renee Paquette’s The Sessions podcast and discussed their time hosting Talking Smack in WWE. Danielson revealed that during some of his time on the show, he was actively trying to get fired. Danielson cited frustrations with not being medically cleared to wrestle and not wanting to be brought in for television for just Talking Smack. In efforts to get fired, Danielson would regularly bring up James Ellsworth having a “huge hog” despite being told not to by management. Eventually Danielson was cleared to return to ..

AEW President Tony Khan Issues New Rule Regarding Releases

That is pretty cut and dry. Over the last three plus years, AEW has gone from an idea to the second biggest wrestling company in the world. As a result, there are now several more spots available for wrestlers to show what they can do on a bigger stage. This certainly has its advantages, but it does not mean that everyone on the roster is pleased. Now management is taking some steps to keep people around. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW President Tony Khan has issued a new edict saying “nobody’s getting released”. This comes amid rumors of WWE contacting several AEW wrestlers with the hopes of them requesting their releases and coming back to WWE. Rumored names include Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews, though Black has denied the rumors. Opinion: This is a tricky one as while the wrestlers do want out of AEW, they also signed contracts saying that they would be around. That only leaves so much room for negotiations or an attempt to get out and I’m not sure how well that is..

Keep Them Coming: WWE Adds More Names To Money In The Bank Ladder Matches

Keep filling up those spots. We are coming up on WWE’s annual Money In The Bank event, which will be headlined by the show’s namesake matches. These matches are among the biggest that WWE presents all year with some of the more prominent names in the company competing for a guaranteed on-demand shot at the World Title. Now we know some more names who will be getting their shot. This week’s SmackDown saw three more names added to the Money In The Bank ladder match fields. First, both Sheamus and Drew McIntyre were added to the men’s match. This is the result of a decision by WWE management after last week’s qualifying match ended in a double disqualification. Later in the show, Raquel Rodriguez defeated Shayna Baszler to qualify for the women’s match. This means the men’s match now has three entrants (Sheamus, McIntyre, Seth Rollins) and the women’s match has four (Lacey Evans, Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez) out of eight spots per match. Opinion: This is the kind of night ..

WRESTLING RUMORS: Who Will Be Taking Stephanie McMahon’s Place In WWE Management

That’s a big shakeup. It takes a lot of people to work together to make WWE work. With so many things coming together to keep the company running smoothly, it means a lot to have the right people in the right places. When someone moves around in the higher corporate structure, it can be quite the shakeup throughout the company. That is the case again with some names you might recognize. Earlier this week, Stephanie McMahon announced that she will be stepping away from her position at WWE for the time being, though she is planning to return to her job in the future. According to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, WWE President Nick Khan will be taking over most of McMahon’s duties. Various business partners were told of the decision earlier in the day. Nick Khan will be taking over most of Stephanie McMahon's duties in her absence, according to multiple people at WWE. Select business partners have already been informed. — Brandon Thurston (@BrandonThurston) May 19, 2022 Opinion..

WATCH: New WWE Stable Gains A Member Before This Week’s SmackDown

Welcome to the team? One of the easiest ways to present several wrestlers at the same time is with a stable. The idea is something that has been done decades in wrestling and it still works to this day. You can take several wrestlers and put them together under a concept that could be either simple or more complex but it will often be a useful move. That might be the case again with some WWE stars. Last week, NXT star LA Knight appeared in a dark segment where he announced the Knight Model Management stable. Knight introduced Mace as his first client and helped him win a match. This week, Knight introduced Mansoor as the second member of the stable before SmackDown began. There is no word on if or when the team might debut on television. Knight last appeared in NXT at Stand & Deliver on April 1. This does have potential. Check out how the new member of the team looked: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is one of those ideas that could go somewhere if they hav..

NXT Star Appears Before SmackDown In A Very Different Role

There might be a place for him. Wrestlers have a lot of things to cover every time they are in front of an audience. While the focal point is going to be in the ring, there are other things that need to be done as well. One of the most important is the ability to talk, as fans need a reason to care about someone. Now we might be seeing a new talker coming up to the main roster soon. According to PWInsider.com, NXT’s LA Knight appeared in a dark segment before this week’s edition of SmackDown. Knight appeared in a suit and announced that he was creating Knight Model Management as a manager rather than a wrestler. He introduced Mace as his first client and helped him defeat Erik. This is seen as a tryout for a potential managerial role for Knight on the main roster. Opinion: While I’m disappointed in Knight only being brought up to the main roster for his talking abilities, it’s better than having him languish down in NXT any longer. Knight is a talented guy and someone who is able to ..

SmackDown Live Coverage And Results – March 25, 2022

Smackdown Date: March 25, 2022 Location: Barclays Center, New York City, New York Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee We’re eight days away from Wrestlemania and believe it or not, the preview for the show has a picture of Roman Reigns/Brock Lesnar/Paul Heyman, because that is the only thing on this show that matters. It would be nice for the new Intercontinental Champion to get a Wrestlemania match set up, but I wouldn’t bet on it anytime soon. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of Brock Lesnar’s path of rage last week, including the fork lift attack on the Bloodline’s SUV. Opening sequence. Brock Lesnar is outside of Reigns’ dressing room and says that he has paid some fines and bought some vehicles, including a blood red SUV for Reigns himself. Now upper management has told him to not have any contact with Reigns, so he’ll be sitting in Reigns’ locker room and wait for a good provoking. Lesnar goes into the empty room, likes what he has found (“Not as good as mine but not ..

AEW Wrestlers Respond To Tony Khan’s Controversial Comments

It was going to get people talking. AEW has been a complete game changer in the wrestling world and that has been a good thing. The company is led by President Tony Khan, who has been a force in wrestling since he entered the industry. However, like everyone else, Khan is going to have some controversial moments. That was the case last week and now we are seeing the response. Late last week, former AEW star Big Swole spoke about some of her issues with the company on her Swole Nation podcast. Several over her comments criticized AEW’s lack of diversity in management positions and in prominent roles on television. Khan responded, listing off people of color in the company and saying that he let Swole go because he did not think her wrestling abilities were good enough. Several AEW wrestlers have since responded, with a mixture of positive and negative reactions. Here are some of the responses to Khan’s comments, including Lio Rush, who has since had a conversation with Khan: If nobody..

WWE And AEW Have Different Rules About Positive Coronavirus Tests

They keep changing. The Coronavirus pandemic is still alive and well and there is nothing to suggest that it will be wrapping up anytime soon. We are currently in another spike and that could continue for a good while. The situation has certainly changed the wrestling industry again, and now we know a little bit more about how the biggest promotions are dealing with it. Earlier this week, several WWE wrestlers reportedly tested positive for the Coronavirus. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the WWE wrestlers are not allowed to talk about their positive diagnosis as per orders from management. AEW wrestlers are under no such restrictions, though no wrestlers have disclosed a recent positive test. At the moment, both companies are planning to move forward without making any major changes due to the pandemic. WWE is in a bit of a tight spot at the moment. Interesting Note On How WWE Locker Room Feels About AEW

Call it a battleground. WWE is still the biggest wrestling promotion in the world and that has been the case for a very long time now. There is nothing to suggest that their status will change anytime soon, but they now have someone closing in on them for the first time in a good while. AEW has changed things up a lot, and some small battle lines have been draw, but not one that you might expect. According to a Q&A session with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, WWE wrestlers are not taking extreme sides between the two companies. While there are such stances taken by WWE, management, the wrestlers are said to not have as much of an us vs. them mentality. Several of the wrestlers from both promotions have made positive references to each other in the past and there is nothing to suggest any serious animosity between the two sides. Both promotions have done rather well. Check out what they have been doing as of late: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains vid..

VIDEO: Triple H Back At Work After Cardiac Event

Welcome back? There are a lot of people who make decisions in WWE but some of them are a lot more well known than others. A change in WWE’s higher up management can mean a lot for the company and that was the case, at least temporarily, earlier this year, when an executive had some health issues. Now they are back to work, at least in one kind of capacity. Back in September, WWE COO Triple H suffered a cardiac event and has not been away recovering since. This week, a pair of videos have been posted to TikTok, showing Triple H and various other WWE executives, including Vince McMahon, touring what will become the future WWE headquarters. This is Triple H’s first appearance since September, though there is no word on how much he is doing otherwise. It’s great to have him back. Check out Triple H on tour, plus some of his great returns: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains ..

AEW Star Opens Up About Current Mental Health Issues

Talking about it can help. Wrestlers are an interesting group of people as their job is to play larger than life characters on television but they have to find a way to turn that off once the show is over. That is a lot easier said than done, but somehow they have to find a way to make it work. Sometimes certain things from outside wrestling can cause some issues in front of the camera and that seems to be the case again. AEW star the Blade has posted a statement to Instagram, revealing that he has been dealing with issues of anxiety, depression and confidence. Blade mentions that he has had these issues all of his life but only realized it during the Coronavirus pandemic when they spiked. He has since tried to manage them on his own but recently suffered another spike. As a result he has talked to AEW management and is thankful for all of the responses that he has received from everyone. Blade has not wrestled since the October 11 edition of AEW Dark and it is not clear when he will ..

Fan And Reporter Says He Was Targeted By NXT Management At Taping

That might not go well. The Coronavirus pandemic shook up the wrestling world in several ways and things are only starting to get back to normal. WWE has allowed fans back into their arenas for major shows for the last few events and NXT has allowed a small group of fans since the beginning of the summer. Now it seems that one fan in particular will not be around for the time being. Wrestling Observer Newsletter correspondent JJ Williams has posted a series of tweets saying that he was “singled out” and removed from recent NXT TV tapings due to working for the Newsletter. Williams is a regular at NXT tapings and has reported on them since 2014. According to Williams, his ID was photographed and all of the photos he had taken were deleted. He was also told that his social media was being monitored. As a result, Williams has said that he will no longer be attending NXT tapings. AEW President Tony Khan has said that he will see Williams at Dynamite in Jacksonville next week. Last week I..
