WATCH: The Miz Explains His Plans To Lose The Intercontinental Title To The Ultimate Warrior

That would have been different. There are several titles under the WWE banner these days and some of them are among the most important championships in wrestling history. Some of those former champions are quite the legends of the company and it means a lot for them to show up every so often. Now a current WWE star is revealing a plan he had to honor one of those former champions. In a recent post on TikTok, Miz talked about a plan he had to drop the Intercontinental Title to the Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania. While he held the title, Miz wanted to defeat all former Intercontinental Champions at WrestleMania in a gauntlet lumberjack match. The Warrior would enter as a surprise final entrant and defeat Miz to win the title in short order. Miz said he tried to make this happen but could never pull it off. Warrior was a two time Intercontinental Champion, having held the title twice from 1988-90. This could have been different. Check out Miz’s announcement, plus the two champions fig..

On The Card: WWE Announces Another WrestleMania 39 Match

It’s a different kind of match. There are so many varieties of matches that a promotion can run that you almost never see a lot of them. Some will always pop up, such as No Holds Barred or a lumberjack match or a cage match, but occasionally something will come up that is brand new or at least not used very often. We might be seeing something like that again on a big stage. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: Huge Title Match Considered For Top WrestleMania 39 Match Last month, WWE presented the first ever Pitch Black match, sponsored by Mountain Dew. During an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, WWE Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Partnerships Craig Stimmel announced that there would be another sponsored match at WrestleMania 39, though he did not give any further details. There is no word on who will be involved, what kind of match it will be or who will be sponsoring it. WrestleMania 39 takes place on April 1 and 2. WWE has had some sponsored moments before. Che..

Hilarious VIDEO: Randy Orton Hides During SmackDown Lumberjack Match

I mean, he has a point. Last week’s edition of Monday Night Raw was focused on Randy Orton, who was celebrating twenty years as part of the WWE. That is a number that almost no one reaches and it is very impressive to see anyone get that far. Orton has certainly earned the praise that he receives and he is still very good today. Now he is showing just how smart he can be too. Last month, Orton served as a lumberjack in a match between Sami Zayn and Drew McIntyre. During the match, McIntyre hit a running flip dive onto the lumberjacks at ringside. Before McIntyre was diving, a fan filmed Orton laying on the ground away from the pile. The fan asked Orton why he was down and he said he didn’t want to get landed on, as seen in a video that has made its way to Twitter. That’s a smart Viper. Check out Orton’s logical move: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is the kind of thing that you don’t get to see very often but shows how Orton is rather smart at what he does. ..

WATCH: Randy Orton Dances To Bianca Belair’s Theme After SmackDown

I guess he was a fan. While there are a lot of wrestlers going today, only a handful reach the status of being a legend in their own time. Occasionally you will see someone reach that point though and it is a special thing to see. There are a few of those stars around today and one of the bigger ones got to do something this weekend that was more than a bit out of character for him. The main event of this week’s edition of SmackDown saw Drew McIntyre defeat Sami Zayn in a lumberjack match. Randy Orton served as one of the lumberjacks and he was still at ringside following the show when Bianca Belair came to the ring for a dark match. A video has been posted online, showing Orton dancing to Belair’s theme song as a way to hype up the crowd as he left ringside. Orton did not wrestle on the show. I didn’t know Vipers danced. Check out Belair’s entrance (Orton is waving the shirt): [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is the kind of thing that happens after WWE’s cam..

AEW Rampage Live Coverage And Results – November 12, 2021

Rampage Date: November 12, 2021 Location: Target Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota Commentators: Excalibur, Taz, Ricky Starks, Chris Jericho It’s the go home show for Full Gear but we still might get some changes, or at least a hard sell, for the show. Dynamite did that very well this week but maybe a bit more could make it even better. I’m not sure what to expect here, though Matt Hardy vs. Orange Cassidy in a lumberjack match is certainly a thing. Let’s get to it. Jungle Boy vs. Bobby Fish Jungle takes him down to start but Fish is right back with a pull off the ropes to bang up Jungle’s arm. Back in and Jungle chops away, only to be knocked outside with the arm being banged up again. A posting gets Jungle out of trouble but Fish takes him down again as we take a break. We come back with Fish staying on the arm but he charges into an overhead suplex into the corner. Jungle grabs a waistlock until he is sent shoulder first into the buckle. Fish grabs his own suplex for his own two in ..

Several Title Changes Take Place During NXT Halloween Havoc

I’d call that a busy night. There are all kinds of wrestling shows on the air every week, but sometimes you get to see one that is an especially big card. These shows are going to feature marquee matches with big stars involved, along with several championships on the line. That was the case this week, and it was a rather bad night for people coming in with titles. This week’s edition of NXT was the Halloween Havoc special, which featured four title matches on a six match card. Of the four titles that were on the line, three changed hands. First, Toxic Attraction won the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles from Io Shirai/Zoey Stark in a ladder match also involving Persia Pirotta/Indi Hartwell. Next, Mandy Rose defeated Raquel Gonzalez in a street fight to win the NXT Women’s Title. Finally, MSK lost the NXT Tag Team Titles to Imperium in a lumberjack match. The only champion to retain their title was Tommaso Ciampa, who defeated Bron Breakker in the show’s main event. It was a busy night. Ch..

Miz Is Representing WWE In Something Pretty Cool (Again)

It’s an appearance. Wrestlers are in a weird place when it comes to being celebrities. It’s true that they are on television year round, but at the same time they are still just seen as wrestlers. You can only go so far with something like that and it can be rather difficult for wrestlers to get out of their mold. It happens occasionally though, and now we are seeing it again. The Miz has confirmed that he will be a part of the 2021 Major League Baseball Celebrity Softball game. Miz has taken part in the game before, including winning the Most Valuable Player Award in 2018 and playing again in 2019 in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. The game will be held at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado on July 11 as part of the All Star Weekend. The game will be held less than two months after Miz was injured during a lumberjack match on May 16 at WrestleMania Backlash. Miz was reported to have suffered a torn ACL, which could have put him out of action for up to nine months, though a partially t..

VIDEO: Zombies (Yes Zombies) Invade WrestleMania Backlash

I don’t think this needs an explanation. There are some things that happen in wrestling where you know that things are going to be a little less than serious. Certain moments only take place in wrestling or in a movie and every now and then you see those things taking place at the same time. That was the case at WWE’s latest pay per view and it will likely get people talking. This weekend’s WWE WrestleMania Backlash event was sponsored by Netflix’s Army Of The Dead movie, which stars WWE Hall of Famer Batista. The show featured an introduction video with clips from the movie and Batista narrating the clips. However, later in the night there was something else involving the movie, which features zombies. It turns out that the show had some guest stars. WrestleMania Backlash featured a lumberjack match between Miz and Damian Priest, with a group of zombies serving as the lumberjacks. The zombies interfered in the match with Priest and Miz fighting them off. Late in the match, John Morr..

New Gimmick Match Announced For WrestleMania Backlash

There’s still time for more. We are less than a week away from WrestleMania Backlash and the card still has quite a few holes to fill in. With so many things left to add to the show, it is time to start getting things rolling. That was the case during this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw when a grudge match was added, but now there is going to be a little twist. This week on Monday Night Raw, a match between Miz and Damian Priest was announced for WrestleMania Backlash. However, the match will not be a traditional one as Priest was allowed to pick the stipulation due to defeating Miz’s partner John Morrison during the show. As a result, the match will be a lumberjack match, which Priest selected due to being tired of Miz and Morrison double teaming him. These two have a history. Check out how we got here: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: The stipulation does make things a l..

REVIEW: Vengeance 2006: You Might Not Remember This One

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Vengeance 2006 Date: June 25, 2006 Location: Charlotte Bobcats Arena, Charlotte, North Carolina Attendance: 6,800 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler It’s time for another Raw pay per view but this time around we have ECW invading as WWE continues to try to turn it into something again. This time around that means Edge challenging ECW/WWE Champion Rob Van Dam and John Cena vs. Sabu in an EXTREME Lumberjack match. I’m not sure how EXTREME you can make a lumberjack match but maybe Cena can make it work. Let’s get to i..
