WWE Reportedly Ending Home Media Releases

It’s the end of an era. Wrestling is a sport that works a lot better when you can see what is going on. You can only get so far without being able to watch everything and luckily that has gotten a lot easier over time. The rise of streaming video has been a game changer for wrestling fans in a very positive way. Now though, it seems to have led to the demise of something else. According to Wrestling DVD Network, WWE will be discontinuing DVDs and Blu-Rays in the United States, Australia and Canada starting in 2022. The final release will be Survivor Series 2021, which will be released on December 28. The United Kingdom will continue to receive viewers through March. There is no word on why WWE has decided to discontinue the sales. I do get the change. Health Update On NXT’s Jacy Jayne After Scary Crash

That could have been worse. Injuries are the kind of thing that can happen to anyone at any time and their impact can be devastating. You never know how bad something might be at the time, but luckily they often look worse than they actually are. That doesn’t make them any less scary at the time, which seems to be the case again with a recent scary situation. This week’s NXT featured a triple threat match between Io Shirai, Persia Pirotta and Jacy Jayne. During the match, Jayne attempted a suicide dive but landed face first on the floor, forcing her out of the match. According to Wrestling Observer Live, Jayne underwent a full CT scan and did not suffer a concussion. She is currently still advertised for a triple threat tag team ladder match at Halloween Havoc next week. Jayne can be effective when she stays in the ring. We have some sad news to report, along with a way that we can help. Just a few hours before he officially became a Raw Superstar in the 2019 Superstar Shakeup, Ricochet received some difficult news. His mother’s home, the house he grew up in, was destroyed in a fire. Thankfully, his mother, her boyfriend and her boyfriend’s two children are safe, but the rebuilding process is going to be tough. As a results, Ricochet has set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for some of the damages caused by the fire. He wrote the following regarding the disaster: Monday afternoon I found out that my mom came home from the theatre to find her house engulfed in flames. Luckily my mom, her boyfriend and his two boys are all okay, but devastated from losing all of the memories that were in this house. Not only memories that they have made together, but from me and my brothers childhood, my son growing up and everything in between. He also tweeted about it: I'm raising money to help my mom rebuild ..

El Rey Exec on Lucha Underground Renewal: “Looks Good”

IGN recently interviewed Skip Chaisson, El Rey Network’s chief creative officer, about the potential of Lucha Underground being renewed for a fourth season. During the interview, Chaisson said the show’s future “looks good.” He would not confirm nor deny, however, the show itself being renewed.

Chaisson noted that one of the biggest talking points at the El Rey Network is where LU fits into their TV schedule going forward. Though he also noted that he and network head/famed filmmaker Robert Rodriguez love the show. “I can’t emphasize enough just how giving the wrestlers are,” he said, “and just working with Eric [Van Wagenen, Lucha Underground’s executive producer] and Chris [DeJoseph, co-executive producer] – it’s just so much fun.”

Luckily for LU, El Rey is still airing season 3 of the series. This leaves plenty of time for the network to decide the show’s future.

Bischoff on Wrestling Recap – Russo’s Restraining Order, RAW & Smackdown on WWE Network, Should Joe Defeat Lesnar? More!

Bischoff is joined on today’s show by his co-host Nick Hausman.

Bischoff comments on the news that Vince Russo filed a restraining order against Jim Cornette recently. He simply calls this action by Russo ‘bizarre’, and he’s getting sick and tired of talking about Russo. At first it was fun to poke fun at Russo because he’s so easy to get fired up, but at this point it’s just silly.

Hausman mentions that initially fans thought all these verbal jabs between Russo, Cornette, Bischoff and Prichard were a work, which would ultimately result in some live debate tour featuring all men. It’s obvious now that was never the case. Bischoff mentions that we was offered a pretty good pay day recently to do an in-ring segment with Russo for an indie promotion in P.E.I.,Canada. Even though the money was good, he turned it down because Russo is just too weird to be around.

Bischoff thought the Samoa Joe/Brock Lesnar segment from RAW this past week created some mystique, and that’s something that has been sorely missing from WWE’s product lately. Joe is a great character, and luckily WWE has made a commitment to Joe’s character because now Joe comes off as a believable threat to Lesnar. Bischoff thinks Joe will give Lesnar some of the best matches he has had in recent memory.

Vince Russo’s The Brand Recap – Money in the Bank Analysis, Formatting Issues, Corbin’s Big Win, More!

Russo is joined on today’s show by his co-host Jeff Lane and Rue from ‘Rue TV’. On today’s show, Russo will discuss Sunday night’s Money in the Bank PPV.

Speaking about the opening match on the card, Russo mentions that he was very concerned going into the match for the safety of all five women involved. This was the first ladder match for most of these women, and he was afraid that they would try to do too much. Luckily, he thought WWE did a good job of protecting the women, and he was happy to see that.

Russo says he didn’t have a problem with Ellsworth climbing the ladder and retrieving the briefcase for Carmella, but he did have a problem with how the entire segment closed. The three referees were arguing about the finish on the outside of the ring, when Ellsworth picked up the mic and announced Carmella as the winner and all of a sudden the finish was official. Russo couldn’t believe that they closed the segment like that.

He also didn’t like the fact that Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon were tweeting about this afterwards, because he believes at least one of them should have been present at the show. They could have done something as simple as a quick backstage interview with McMahon, where he mentioned how disgusted he was by the finish of the match.

Speaking about the Tag Team Championship match between The Usos and The New Day, he thought there were several sloppy parts in this match, and he particularly hated the finish. After the controversial finish to the Women’s Money in the Bank match, he thought this match deserved to have a legitimate finish. He says that the finish of this match was another prime example of why Titles shouldn’t change hands on a count-out.

Gail Kim Reveals If She Is Returning to Impact Wrestling

Gail Kim recently did an interview with Kevin Eck of Pressbox Online. Here are a couple of highlights from the interview:

Tell me about the nature of your back injury and how you’re feeling now.

“My back was injured just basically from wear and tear over the years. Luckily, Impact has been so good to me in terms of letting me take time off to make sure I’m healthy and never making me feel bad about it. I’ve been ready to come back for a little while but [Impact Wrestling] has had some time off because we film a bunch of shows once a month or once every other month, so that’s the only reason why I haven’t been back in the ring, but I’m going to be back shortly.”

You’re not under contract with at Impact at the moment, correct?

“Technically, no, but I have a contract in hand. I won’t ever go anywhere else. That’s my family.”

Have you given thought to how much longer you’d like to wrestle?

“Those questions have popped in my head. We kind of incorporated it into the storyline, and I guess we teased [retirement]. People really thought I retired because we never really continued it or explained it; I just really got injured and never came back, so people assumed I was retired. I said, “No, you will know when I’m retired. I wouldn’t go away that quietly.”

Click here for the full interview.

Bischoff on Wrestling Recap – ‘Table for 3’ with Jim Cornette, Ending the NWO, Debuting as RAW GM, More!

Bischoff says that he has received very favourable reviews of his ’Table for 3’ appearance with Jim Cornette and Michael ‘PS’ Hayes from last Monday night. He says that he general consensus is that fans want more, but he’s not sure that he and Cornette have more of those shows in them.

He says that Cornette is funny, articulate and very intelligent. However, he’s very opinionated as well, so that can rub some people the wrong way at points. Before they began taping, Cornette told Bischoff that he was going to ‘come at him’ and Bischoff told him to bring it on because first and foremost he wanted the show to be entertaining.

Bischoff says that he likes Cornette. Sure, they’ve had some differences and they’ll never be best friends, but he’d embrace the opportunity to debate Cornette again at some point in the future.

Bischoff thought that Hayes did a great job as the middle man between him and Cornette during this show. The last time he did a show like this with Hayes, he was so drunk that he could barely talk. Luckily, Hayes was completely sober during this show and even though he dressed like a ‘gay hooker’, he did a great job.
