Upgrade: Health Update On Missing Wrestling Legend

That could have been worse. There are all kinds of issues that a wrestler can deal with while they are in the ring, some of which are a lot more serious than others. Those issues do not go away after their careers are over though and sometimes the issues get even worse. That was the case for a certain wrestling legend, but now things have taken a turn for the better. AEW’s Jake Roberts has announced that he is no longer requiring oxygen and will be back in AEW again. This comes after Roberts has been missing from AEW television for several months due to reported health issues, including reports that he had been receiving oxygen through a tube. Roberts has mainly served as Lance Archer’s manager during his time with the company. It is not clear when Roberts will be returning to AEW TV. Off oxygen for good!! Standing tall doing great. At AEW AGAIN!! Sweet life I’m living!! — JakeSnakeDDT (@JakeSnakeDDT) November 16, 2022 Roberts has been around AEW for a good while. Check out some of..

WWE Officially Sends Former World Champion From Monday Night Raw To SmackDown

To the other side. There are so many wrestlers on the WWE roster that the company has divided them into a variety of roster. Some of those wrestlers perform exclusively, or close to it at least, on one brand or the other. You do not see many people move from one show to the other but now WWE has moved a living legend to the other main roster in order to keep him around. This week on SmackDown, Rey Mysterio made a surprise appearance, informing Triple H that he was going to be quitting the promotion due to his issues with his son Dominik. Triple H asked him to talk about it and officially moved Mysterio to the SmackDown roster. Mysterio was put into a fatal four way to crown a new #1 contender to the Intercontinental Title, which Mysterio went on to win. Opinion: This is a way to go and while it very well may be switched back later on, moving Mysterio to a new location is going to open some doors for him. I’m curious to see where the story goes and it does at least give them a logical..

LOOK: Brock Lesnar’s New Photo Sparks Online Backlash From Fans (Slightly Graphic Photo)

They don’t seem happy with him. There are no people in wrestling, or almost anywhere else for that matter, like Brock Lesnar. In addition to being one of the most successful WWE stars of all time and a champion in multiple other sports, Lesnar is known for his love of hunting and fishing. However, one of those things has landed him in some hot water, at least from some fans. Lesnar has posted a photo to Twitter showing him holding the head of a buck that he likely killed himself. The photo has resulted in a series of negative reactions from fans on Twitter, condemning Lesnar for killing the animal. Lesnar has not responded to the tweets. Lesnar last wrestled for WWE at Summerslam in July and is expected to return to the ring at Crown Jewel in November. WWE And AEW May Be Competing For An International Star Down The Line

He opened some eyes. There are a lot of talented wrestlers throughout the world and it can be a lot of fun to see someone pop up out of nowhere and become a star on the big stage. It opens up a new door and offers a variety of fresh matches for a bunch of people. That is the case with a new star in AEW but he has a few changes coming up and they could lead to something even bigger down the line. Konosuke Takeshita made his AEW debut on the April 25 edition of AEW Dark: Elevation and has since moved on to face various top AEW stars. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Takeshita is currently on excursion from DDT-Pro in Japan for one year and is currently living in the United States. AEW and DDT-Pro have a good relationship though and Takeshita would be allowed back at any time. In addition, WWE is said to be looking for a Japanese wrestler with a “large build”, which fits Takeshita’s description. It it unknown when Takeshita’s DDT-Pro contract expires or if he is interested in signi..

KB’s Review: They Did Something

We are living in a brand new reality in wrestling and that is going to take some getting used to over the next….well years probably. Following the retirement (or forcing out, whichever you prefer) of Vince McMahon, WWE is officially in uncharted waters and the boss is not there to steer the ship. That could create a lot of problems, but that certainly wasn’t the case this week. This week’s Monday Night Raw featured the fallout from Summerslam and happened to be one of the best editions of the show that I have seen in a LONG time. The show felt quite a bit different that anything Monday Night Raw had done in years and you could tell that there was a breath of fresh air to the whole thing. That was the case for a lot of reasons and we are going to look at some of the bigger ones this week. Note that this isn’t meant to be exhaustive, but rather the things that stood out to me the most. The biggest change that stood out was the wrestlers were acting more like humans. How often have you ..

The Other Side: Some WWE Stars Worried About Their Status Amid Company Changes

It might not all be great. WWE has been shaken up by the departure of Vince McMahon after decades of him running the company. That is something that was not expected for a long time and it is now time to make changes at a faster than thought pace. Some of them have already gone well, but there are a few wrestlers who are not so happy that things are being changed. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, while the majority of the WWE roster is happy with the changes that are being made. These wrestlers are worried about losing their spots, as Triple H’s new regime has already started moving some wrestlers into new roles. It will also take several weeks for Triple H’s creative vision to be presented in full on WWE television. There is no word on any other major changes Triple H is hoping to make. Opinion: I can understand why some of the wrestlers are worried but at the end of the day, as William Regal once said, nobody owes you a living. If these wrestlers aren’t impressing the new bos..

Monday Night Raw Results – July 11, 2022

Monday Night Raw Date: July 11, 2022 Location: AT&T Center, San Antonio, Texas Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton We’re well on the way to Summerslam and that means the card is mostly set. I’m curious to see what that means we are going to be seeing added to the show, as that can often be more interesting than seeing things built up even more. If nothing else, Brock Lesnar is here tonight so let’s get to it. We open with a recap from Smackdown with Roman Reigns saying things pick up when the Big Dog comes around. Here is Brock Lesnar to get things going. Brock says God bless Texas and even takes his hat off to show some manners. Reigns talks about how Roman Reigns has been living high on the hog and at Summerslam, the hog is being slaughtered, like Lesnar does on his ranch. Violence is promised, but here is Paul Heyman to interrupt. Lesnar: “Speak of the hog.” Heyman talks about how Lesnar is a monster, but the fans say Heyman sucks. Lesnar asks if Heyman is going..

Controversial Star Returning To Wrestling After Nearly Two Year Absence

Welcome back? While WWE and AEW get most of the attention, there are a lot of other talented wrestlers performing elsewhere. That can open the door for a lot of fans to see stars that they new knew before, but sometimes these other promotions have stars that you have seen somewhere before. It seems to be the case again, and now a seemingly blackballed star is on her way back. Hurricane Pro Wrestling in Beaumont, Texas has announced that Tessa Blanchard will be appearing at their event on July 16. There is no word on what Blanchard will be doing on the show, though she is featured in the center of the post. Blanchard has not wrestled since September 12, 2020 for Warrior Wrestling. Since then, she has been living in Mexico with her husband Daga, following allegations of racist statements against a wrestler in Japan. She had been announced as part of the revival of Women Of Wrestling but her association fell through after a disagreement with the promotion. HPW – Sat July 16 – @FordPark,..

VIDEO: NXT Announces Possible Debut/Return Of Star

Get to know him. There are all kinds of ways to present someone new in wrestling and it can make for some interesting presentations. Sometimes you see a new wrestler show up altogether, but sometimes it is a new presentation of someone you have seen before. This time it might be either, which could make quite the surprise whenever we find out who we will be seeing. This week on NXT, a vignette aired announcing the debut of a new star named Giovanni Vinci. The video features a woman speaking while showing a man putting on expensive clothing. The voiceover talks about status and living life in the fast lane while showing shots from around Italy, where Vinci seems to live. There is no word on who the wrestler is or when they will be debuting. Who do you think it is? Check out the vignette for the new star: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: The more I think about this, the more I think this might be the return of Fabian Aichner under a new name. He is from Italy and h..

Several New Wrestling Documentaries Coming This Year

Another look. There have been all kinds of wrestlers over the years and several of them have some very interesting stories. That is the kind of thing that can make for some fascinating looks back and in recent years, a good many more of those looks have taken place. Now we seem ready to see even more, as some fresh wrestling documentaries are in the works. According to Fightful Select, the Reelz movie channel is planning to release several new wrestling documentaries this summer. Names that are confirmed for such documentaries are Roddy Piper, Steve Austin and Chyna, though it is not clear if the living people or their families will be involved. These are not part of the A&E documentary series and are not expected to have involvement from WWE. Opinion: This is an interesting idea, but at the same time I’m not sure how well things will go with limited participation. At the same time, Piper and Austin are names who have been documented before, with Austin’s story being fairly well know..

Backstage Details On Steve Austin vs. Kevin Owens, Austin Defied WWE Rules

It was almost different. WrestleMania 38 was one of the biggest spectacles that WWE has ever presented and there were all kinds of major moments over the two nights. As tends to be the case, the main event is the most memorable match of the weekend. That was the case again this year, but it was almost a very different situation than what we wound up seeing. The main event of Night One of WrestleMania 38 saw Steve Austin come out of retirement to face Kevin Owens in a No Holds Barred match. The match was not advertised in advance and was made the night of the show, as Austin had only been advertised for an appearance. Austin did promise that he would be getting physical with Owens, but an actual match was never mentioned. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there had been plans to promote the match in advance, but Austin was worried about it not living up to his expectations. The plan became an “elongated brawl”, but Austin changed his mind and agreed to the match at some ..

Former WWE Star Now Has A Pretty Important Job

It’s a living. Wrestlers are like any other athletes in that eventually their career is going to come to an end. At some point they are going to have to hang up their boots and move on to something else. Some wrestlers are going to be around longer than others, but there are some who leave wrestling early and need another career. Now we know what a former WWE star is doing after his in-ring career is over. Miranda Gordy was a guest on a recent edition of the Wilde On podcast and discussed her brother Ray Gordy, who wrestled as Jesse and Slam Master J in WWE. Miranda revealed that Ray is retired from wrestling and is now a police officer and SWAT team member in Georgia. Ray’s most recent match took place on the WrestleMania 26 Kickoff Show in 2010. He did appear at the 2016 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony for his father, Terry Gordy’s, induction as part of the Fabulous Freebirds. Opinion: While Ray might not have been the biggest star in WWE, there is something interesting about s..

Interesting Update On Miro’s Recent Whereabouts

So that’s where he has been. When a wrestling promotion has a lot of wrestlers on its roster, it can be difficult to keep track of where everyone is. It can be even more difficult when someone misses a bit of time for one reason or another, as fans will forget them even more quickly. If someone is gone for a significant amount of time, it makes things far worse. Now we know where one missing star has been. AEW star Miro has revealed that he is currently living in Brooklyn filming a pilot of some sort but without elaborating on what it is. There is no word on when Miro is expected back on AEW television. He has not wrestled since the Full Gear pay per view in November 2021 due to a hamstring injury, though he has reportedly been ready to return to the ring for a while now. Super excited about this upcoming pilot. Living in Brooklyn has definitely opened my eyes about living in a city, walking to a gym and groceries. #Dushkin pic.twitter.com/cqByK9UURV — Miro (@ToBeMiro) March 28, 202..

Wrestling Legend Receives Very Special Award

I think he has earned it. Wrestling is a unique sport compared to its mainstream counterparts, as the accomplishments that wrestlers win are predetermined. In addition, the wrestlers are not permanent champions as they will lose any titles they win to someone else. There is very little that is seen as a true lifetime achievement but one legend has earned one of his own. As revealed on Twitter, Terry Funk has officially received the Stanley Weston Lifetime Achievement Award from Pro Wrestling Illustrated. Funk was presented with the award by his friend Manny Fernandez. Funk began wrestling in 1965 and wrestled his last match in 2017. He has been living in an assisted living facility in recent months due to having troubles with his memory. IMG Credit: Brian Solomon’s Twitter Opinion: Funk is one of those all time legends that would have only worked in professional wrestling. It is great to see him getting this kind of recognition, but at the same time it is sad to see what has happened..

AEW Dropped A Hint Of A Major Future Free Agent Signing

They might be building to something. Wrestling fans are living in a pretty amazing era when it comes to pure talent around the world. There are so many skilled wrestlers and it is so easy to see a lot of them at any given time. That can be done rather easily in a lot of situations, but sometimes fans have to wait a little bit. That is the case with one legendary star, but now we might be seeing a hint of what is next for him. This week on AEW Dynamite, Matt Hardy walked out on a match between the debuting Keith Lee and Isiah Kassidy. Hardy walked through the crowd, which was described as “erratic behavior” by commentator Tony Schiavone. This was the same term used to describe Matt’s brother Jeff, who walked out on WWE during a match in December by walking through the crowd in what was described as “erratic behavior”. Jeff’s no compete clause is expected to expire in early March. Opinion: I don’t think there is any surprise to the idea that Jeff is on his way to AEW. With Matt already..

Who’s Left? Update On Goldberg’s WWE Contract

Who’s left? There are certain wrestlers who don’t need much of an introduction. Something about them gets your attention immediately and that makes them incredibly valuable in a few ways. A promotion can put them on any show and get something out of them, which is the case with one certain living legend. We just might not be seeing that much of them in the future. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Goldberg has one match left on his current WWE deal and it is not clear if WWE will be re-signing him when his contract ends. Goldberg is highly paid for a light schedule and he has a no-cut clause in his deal. Goldberg’s most recent match took place in October at Crown Jewel, when he defeated Bobby Lashley. He is absolutely a force. Check out some of Goldberg’s higher profile matches: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Goldberg is an interesting case, as he does feel lik..

Another Former WWE Star Now A Free Agent, Turned Down Chance To Re-Sign

That’s it for her. There have been a lot of changes to WWE in the last year and a half, with more names leaving than most people can hope to remember. That is not a good thing to see, as it leaves a lot of wrestlers without a place to go. Some of them are a bit luckier than others though, and now one of them has officially wrapped up her time as part of WWE. Earlier this week, former NXT star Kairi Sane officially removed WWE references from her social media accounts. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Sane’s WWE deal has officially expired and she is allowed to work anywhere. WWE had wanted Sane to return to the company to wrestle, but Sane had no interest in living in the United States again. Sane recently opened a gym and wants to return to wrestling, though it is not clear where she will go. Sane was a heck of a star in WWE. Check out some of her time in the company: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post c..

SmackDown Results – December 3, 2021

Smackdown Date: December 3, 2021 Location: AT&T Center, San Antonio, Texas Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee In something you probably don’t remember hearing around here, it’s the Brock Lesnar Show as he is back after his suspension last month. Odds are this is going to set something up for either Day 1 or the Rumble and that opens up a few questions. I’m curious to see where this is going so let’s get to it. We open with a recap of Sami Zayn becoming #1 contender last week but Brock Lesnar’s return was announced for the show immediately thereafter. Here is Brock Lesnar to get things going. Lesnar says he is here for the Universal Title but cue Sami Zayn to interrupt. Sami talks about how he’s a fan of Lesnar and is cut off almost immediately. Lesnar: “I’m sorry, you’re a fan?” Lesnar talks about living in Saskatchewan, where he hunts, kills and eats things. Now why hasn’t he ripped Sami’s head off yet? Sami explains the battle royal win….and Lesnar starts laughing. Sami says ..
