It’s been a fun ride. AEW has come a long way since its inception and a lot of that has been due to the roster it has put together. The company has been built on a mixture of veterans, up and comers and legends, all of whom have mixed into quite the lineup. Not everyone can stick around forever though, and now it seems that one of the names that has been around for a long time is taking her leave. What are they up to? AEW has filed a new trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, looking for “AEW Collision” to be found under entertainment services. Rampage Date: February 10, 2023 Location: County Coliseum, El Paso, Texas Commentators: Jim Ross, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Chris Jericho We are still in Texas with less than a month to go before Revolution. That should make for a few interesting weeks but this week’s lineup doesn’t exactly offer much in the way of hope. The Blackpool Combat Club is here though and that is one of the better things Rampage could do. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Blackpool Combat Club vs. Butcher and the Blade/Kip Sabian Sabian drives Yuta into the corner to start but a sunset flip gets Yuta out of trouble. Yuta is sent outside and Castagnoli comes in, with Butcher getting to come in as well for the power staredown. They yell at each other and slug it out, with both of them staggering. Moxley and then Yuta come in to take turns on Butcher as Jericho talks about the Impractical Jokers cast stealing his baseball bat. Sabian is able to grab a flipping Stunner on Yuta for a breather and Blade gets ..
They had a plan for that. We are coming up on WrestleMania 39 but there is one more major stop before we get out to Los Angeles. That would be Elimination Chamber, which is going to need quite the lineup of its own. WWE has already started setting things up for the show, and it now seems that they had planned to get the ball rolling on one of the bigger matches even sooner than expected. This week on Monday Night Raw, Lita made a surprise return to help Becky Lynch defeat Bayley, who had Damage Ctrl assisting her. Soon after, a report came out saying that this was to set up a six woman tag at Elimination Chamber, also involving Trish Stratus. According to Wrestling Observer Live, Lita helping Lynch was the original plan for the previous week at Raw XXX, when the Lynch vs. Bayley cage match was canceled due to timing issues. There is no word on if Lita will be at next week’s Monday Night Raw. Lita being back is a big deal. Check out her return plus some of her better work: [This post..
Rampage Date: February 3, 2023 Location: Nutter Center, Dayton, Ohio Commentators: Chris Jericho, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur Rampage continues to be a bit all over the place as you know most of the card/lineup in advance but it still feels like a show that could go in a bunch of different directions. That could be the case again this week as there is some star power with the Elite around to defend the Trios Titles. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Trios Titles: Elite vs. Isiah Kassidy/Matt Hardy/Ethan Page The Elite is defending and for the sake of simplicity, Matt Hardy will be referred to as Hardy and Matt Jackson will be referred to as Matt. Nick Jackson and Kassidy trade some flips and takedowns to start before Matt comes in to take over. Kassidy gets over to Hardy for the tag, so Omega gets the overly dramatic tag. Hardy sends Omega outside and goes up but Page tags himself in to take over instead. Omega snaps off a hurricanrana and it’s the Bucks coming back in for..
They’re set. The Royal Rumble has come and gone for the year and that means it is time to start getting ready for the rest of the Road To WrestleMania. While the biggest show on the way there is all taken care of, there is still one more big show that needs to be covered. In this case, it is another show with two of its namesake matches taking place on the card. Now we already know a good portion of the lineup. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Former WWE Women’s Champion Returns To Television On February 18, WWE will present its annual Elimination Chamber event, with two Elimination Chamber matches already announced. It’s that kind of a show. The Royal Rumble is one of the most unique events in the wrestling world. The show is built around its namesake matches, which combine to have sixty wrestlers entering a pair of battle royals. That is the kind of thing that is going to need a lot of effort as the matches can need several wrestlers to be brought in to fill out the lineups. That was the case again this year. There are all different kinds of injuries as well, with some putting a wrestler out for a few weeks and others taking months if not longer. It’s famous for a reason. There have been several different eras throughout the history of wrestling and some of those times are better known than others. Some of them are easily identifiable by a single word, with one of the most famous of WWE’s history being “Attitude”. The period of the late 1990s to early 2000s is still talked about today, but now we can see something we probably haven’t before. Check out what happened in the match, plus some more of these wrestlers i..
They might be on to something. We are less than a week away from WWE Survivor Series, which will feature a pair of WarGames matches. There will be a men’s and women’s edition of the match, with the former having a completely set lineup.
