Two Reasons Why Some AEW Wrestlers Reportedly Want To Head To WWE

It’s the other option. The rise of AEW has shaken up the wrestling world and it brings up the question of where wrestlers will be heading next. While wrestlers are under contracts, it does not mean that they are always happy with where they are at the moment. Now we have a better idea of why some wrestlers want to make the jump to the other company, and it seems to be two fold. According to Wrestling Observer Live, there are two reasons why wrestlers are wanting to jump from AEW to WWE. First, wrestlers are said to have more faith in the new regime headed by Triple H than the previous Vince McMahon administration. Second, the wrestlers are wanting to go to WWE because they would be able to work more there. AEW only runs one regular night a week with Dark: Elevation, Dynamite and Rampage being taped on the same night, while WWE runs television and three live events a week. Opinion: This is an interesting situation as one of the main perks from AEW is the lighter schedule. It seems tha..

Get Well Soon: WWE Star On The Shelf With An Arm Injury

That could slow him down. Wrestling can be a violent sport and sometimes a wrestler is going to be put on the shelf due to some kind of an injury. That can happen to anyone and the question becomes how long someone is going to be out of action. That time can range from a little while to a very long time, but thankfully this instance seems to be a bit more on the lighter side. Last week on SmackDown, Sami Zayn appeared with his arm in a sling while talking to Theory. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Zayn’s injury is legitimate, though it is not clear what exactly is wrong. The injury is not seen as major and Zayn is expected back in the ring in a few weeks. Zayn has not wrestled since July 2 when he competed in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Opinion: That’s almost a relief as just a few weeks is a lot better than several months after major surgery. Hopefully Zayn is ok sooner rather than later as he is doing rather well as of late. Zayn is quite good in the r..

Positive Update On Drew McIntyre’s Injury Status

Welcome back more? As is the case with any other athlete, you never know when you might see a wrestler taken out of action in the blink of an eye. Sometimes people just get hurt no matter how well they are trained or how much experience that they have, as an injury can be instantaneous or be built up over time. It can lead to some great returns though, and now a recent one seems to be going better than expected. SmackDown’s Drew McIntyre was put on the shelf on January 1 at WWE Day One when he was attacked by Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss. McIntyre returned to the ring at the Royal Rumble later than month, though reportedly on a lighter schedule. However, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, McIntyre will be returning to the live event circuit starting this week. It is not clear how many many live events McIntyre will be working compared to his usual schedule. Opinion: I’m glad that McIntyre is going to be around more often but I hope that he doesn’t try to rush back to a f..

More Details On Kevin Owens’ New WWE Contract, Plus Backstage Reactions

Now for the details. The battle between WWE and AEW has already gone through a lot of parts but there are going to be even more to go. One of the most interesting aspects has been the wrestlers going from one promotion to the other, which has been rather lucrative in some cases. That seems to be the case again, and now we know some more details on a new signing. Earlier this week, former Universal Champion Kevin Owens signed a new deal with WWE. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the new deal is for three years for approximately $2-3 million a year. He does not have a no cut clause, but he could have a lighter schedule where he does not work every live event. The deal was signed a few weeks ago, around the time Owen’s current push begam. According to Fightful Select, WWE wrestlers are said to be very happy that Owens signed the new deal as he is well respected and liked in the company. AEW wrestlers are said to be happy as well, as they feel AEW will be available when Owens’ curr..

VIDEO: Bryan Danielson Reenacts Infamous Moment After AEW Dynamite

It’s kind of famous. There are certain moments in wrestling that are just different from the rest, as you know that you are seeing something that is going to cause some changes. These might not always be for the best, but you know them when you see them. That was the case with a certain moment about eleven years ago, and now we are seeing it recreated in a lighter mood. Back on June 7, 2010, the group that would become known as the Nexus made its WWE debut, attacking John Cena and CM Punk. A near riot broke out, which included Bryan Danielson choking ring announcer Justin Roberts with his necktie. This was seen as a step too far, and Bryan was released from the company, eventually returning in August. Following this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, Danielson and Roberts got in the ring and recreated the scene, with Danielson threatening to choke Roberts again if he ever called Danielson Daniel Bryan again. This was quite the moment. Check out the original brawl, the recreation, and so..

Funny Video: Kayla Braxton Is Paul Heyman For Halloween

Tis the season. Wrestlers often have a tricky job as they have to be a mixture of athletes, actors and characters, all at the same time. There are so many people involved in a wrestling production that you are going to see some people who are better than others at each job. This time around, we are seeing someone who is very good at the lighter side, and they are showcasing themselves well. One of the best stories going in all of WWE at the moment is the backstage banter between Paul Heyman and interviewer Kayla Braxton. The two have quite the chemistry together, with Braxton enjoying needling Heyman when he is stressed and Heyman accusing Braxton of having a crush on him. This has led to quite the tribute and it happens to coincide with Halloween. Check out what Braxton has done, plus the two of them together: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is one of the most entertaini..

REVIEW: WWWF Heavyweight Wrestling – January 6, 1966:

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net, starting today. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? WWWF Heavyweight Wrestling Date: January 6, 1966 Location: National Arena, Washington D.C. Commentator: Ray Morgan To give you an idea of how old this is, when this aired my wife’s mother hadn’t been born yet, the original World Tag Team Titles were about six years away, and Vince McMahon was twenty years old. This is by far the oldest show I’ve ever reviewed and I have absolutely no idea what to expect from it. This is a completely different era and the ratings are going to be a little bit lighter be..

Here’s When Randy Orton Will Return to WWE Television

WWE’s Apex Predator has a lighter schedule than most wrestlers with the company, but the reason why you haven’t seen Randy Orton on SmackDown Live recently is due to an injury. It has been reported that Orton has undergone knee surgery for a meniscus tear. Apparently, The Viper has needed the surgery since last year. His body either could not wait any longer or WWE officials thought it was a good time for him to get healthy. The timetable for his return is at least three months, according to Pro Wrestling Unlimited. Related: Randy Orton Recovering From Knee Surgery On paper, that would put him as questionable for Summerslam in August. It’s possible WWE officials will implant him into a feud or a match for the event. The expectation is Orton won’t return to WWE programming until after the biggest party of the summer. Before his injury, The Viper was involved in the United States Title hunt. He was finally able to hold the championship for a brief time, but Orton didn’t have much mom..

Rumor Killer On Big Cass Injury Reports

Another one bites the dust. The selling of an injury is a dying art in wrestling. While the selling done during the matches themselves isn’t bad, there’s a forgotten aspect to the whole thing: selling the injuries after the match is over. Leaving out the idea of looking and acting injured on the streets, there’s the concept of not just getting out of the ring and walking to the back like nothing happens. It’s rare enough these days that just seeing it happen can still fool the fans, which seems to be the case on the European tour. In case you need something a bit lighter involving wrestling, check this out. According to NoDQ.com, Big Cass was seen limping after a recent match in Amsterdam. This video, which can be seen below, isn’t the best sign as Big Cass is freshly back from a torn ACL that kept him out of action for over six months. However, a new report from Wrestlinginc.com says that this has been the case for every match on the tour as Big Cass is selling the injuries from Dani..

Randy Orton Recovering From Knee Surgery

Those voices in your head might be the nurses and doctor. You may have noticed the lack of Randy Orton in recent weeks. While he was in a United States Title match at Backlash against Jeff Hardy, Orton hasn’t been around since the European tour started. It was originally reported that it was due to his lighter house show schedule and while that still seems to be the case, there’s another big reason on top of that. Maybe he could do this when he comes back. [This post contains video, click to play] According to WWE.com, Orton recently underwent surgery on his left knee to repair a medial meniscus tear. The surgery was a success and Orton said that he needed it done since last year. At the moment there is no word on when he will be back in action. Orton hasn’t wrestled since the title match against Hardy and isn’t currently scheduled for any matches in the future. Opinion: To be fair, it’s not like Orton is really going to be missed week to week. He rarely has a..

How Did Kane Do In The Knox County Republican Primary?

The big red political machine. In one of the more interesting wrestling stories of the last year or so, Kane has been running for Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, which would basically make him Mayor of Knoxville, Tennessee. While this may seem like a ridiculous idea, Kane is known as one of the smartest people in the wrestling business and may have had a shot to pull it off. The primaries were held on Tuesday and Kane’s name was on the ballot. How did things come out? He certainly has a lighter side. [This post contains video, click to play] According to WATE (from Knoxville), Kane won the Republican primary by a final tally of 14,633 to 14,616 over opponent Brad Anders. While all of the precincts have been counted, the race isn’t quite over yet. The seventeen vote margin could be changed by a total of ninety three provisional ballots have to be dealt with. These ballots could or could not be counted as they have been flagged for a variety of reasons, includi..

The Hardy Boyz Working Lighter Schedule

<p>The Hardy Boyz will be working a lighter schedule over the next few <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/weeks/" title="weeks">weeks</a></strong> as Rebecca Hardy’s due date gets closer.</p><p>Rebecca is expected to give birth to her and Matt’s second child soon and he’d want to be there for that. They were off yesterday’s RAW because of it and may be absent for other events moving forward.</p><p>In regards to their rematch against <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/cesaro" title="Cesaro">Cesaro</a></strong> and <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/sheamus" title="Sheamus">Sheamus</a></strong> for the Tag-Team Titles, we haven’t heard anything yet, but we will keep you updated.</p>

Reasons Why Backlash Will Be A Great Show on Sunday

<p>This Sunday, Backlash will grace our screens. Many bemoaned the event’s lackluster build-up. Jinder Mahal is challenging for the WWE Championship. The women’s division is caught in a six-man tag team match that doesn’t look too promising. Many would even say that Smackdown has lost its groove. While it may be true, Backlash still looks exciting. Hopefully the event sets in motion a return to action and excellence for the blue brand. Even if it doesn’t, it looks like it will be hard to be disappointed with Backlash.</p><h4>Luke Harper Fights Erick Rowan</h4><p></p><p>This doesn’t sound too exciting, I know. Erick Rowan’s wrestling skills are quite pedestrian. It’s hard to imagine him having a match on pay-per-view. Yet here he is. The reason this match has a lot of promise, though, is because of Rowan’s opponent, <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/luke-harper" title="Luke Harper">Luke Harper</a></strong>.</p><p>Harper was on a roll on the Road to Wrestlemania. For a while, it seemed like he would be added to the WWE Championship match between Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton. He wasn’t, but fans were behind the big man, and it wasn’t hard to see why. He had an organic face turn in a well-crafted story (that bombed in the end, but it was good for a while), and he is a skilled athlete. He’s tall and heavy, but he can perform frankensteiners and suicide dives as if he was significantly lighter. He was given time to develop his character, and the fans loved it. Combine all of this with Erick Rowan’s unsettling Talking Smack promo, an you have a match with a surprising amount of potential.</p><p>Rowan is the potential perfect counterpart for Harper. Harper will shine in this match, which is what many of us want to see. Hopefully their styles can mesh well and they can deliver a good match.</p><h4>Breezango Is Getting a Championship Match</h4><p></p><p>People often talk about Cesaro or <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/sami-zayn" title="Sami Zayn">Sami Zayn</a></strong> being underutilized. They may be, but at least they appear on TV regularly. Not Breezango, though. Last month, many people even forgot they existed. Fandango has been on the roster for almost a decade. How many Fandango matches can you name?</p><p>Both <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/tyler-breeze" title="Tyler Breeze">Tyler Breeze</a></strong> and Fandango are criminally underrated performers. Wrestlers like Dolph Ziggler have praised Breeze’s skill. He was part of a 5-star match, for goodness’ sake. As for Fandango, he’s not even bad in the ring. He’s more than capable of having good matches. Together both men work well, and their charisma and charm works well. They’re also quite funny, and it’s nice to see them getting such a high-profile match.</p><p>However, standing in their way is the Usos. Many people didn’t like them, but the Usos are quite skilled at this whole “wrestling” thing. Look back at their matches with American Alpha over the Tag Team Championship. Those were TV matches, but by god they felt like PPV quality matches. It’s insane.</p><p>The two teams had an exciting contest last year on the Battleground pre-show, so there’s no reason for them not to have another good match.</p>
