AEW Dynamite Results – February 8, 2023

Dynamite Date: February 8, 2023 Location: County Coliseum, El Paso, Texas Commentators: Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Taz It’s a title themed show this week as we have two title matches plus a pair of eliminator matches. That should be enough to make for a good night as AEW tends to treat its titles seriously. The build towards Revolution continues and we should be getting some more added to the card. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Maxwell Jacob Friedman vs. Konosuke Takeshita Non-title. MJF’s offer of a handshake is brushed off to start so Takeshita hammers down some right hands in the corner. A knee is blocked and MJF sends him into the corner to take over. We hit the armbar, followed by a hammerlock DDT for two on Takeshita. Back up and Takeshita hits a quick brainbuster for two and a frog splash gets the same. Takeshita traps the legs and hits a Tombstone, followed by a wheelbarrow suplex to send MJF outside. MJF gets in a shot of his own and takes it back inside, with Takeshi..

A Serious Problem: Hulk Hogan Reportedly Has No Feeling In His Legs

That is serious. While wrestling storylines are pre-determined, the action that you see between the bells is very real. It takes special athleticism and incredible talent to make everything work safely, but there will always be physical issues brought on as a result. This can lead to some serious issues for wrestlers and that is the case again with one of the biggest names of all time. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: They Got It: WWE Went To Extreme Lengths For Royal Rumble Surprise Last week’s edition of Monday Night Raw was the Raw XXX special, celebrating thirty years of the show. The show featured a variety of legends from throughout the last thirty years, meaning several legends were present for the show. During a recent edition of the Kurt Angle Show, Kurt Angle mentioned speaking to Hulk Hogan at the event. Angle revealed that Hogan has undergone another back surgery, which involved nerves being cut from the lower half of his body. As a result, Hogan has no feeling in his legs but is s..

AEW Rampage Results – January 27, 2023

Rampage Date: January 27, 2023 Location: Rupp Arena, Lexington, Kentucky Commentators: Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur, Chris Jericho We’re still in Kentucky and in this case that means it’s time for Hangman Page to face Wheeler Yuta on his way to next week’s showdown with Jon Moxley. Other than that, Jamie Hayter is in a Women’s Title eliminator match and we should be in for a treat there. The show continues to be up and down, but maybe they can make it work this week. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Hangman Page vs. Wheeler Yuta Yuta knocks him into the corner to start and hammers away. The Octopus has Page in early trouble before Yuta switches to the legs. They trade slaps to the face until Yuta bridges back into a leglock. Page fights up and knocks Yuta down for a change and a fall away slam sends Yuta to the apron. There’s the springboard clothesline to send him outside, setting up a slingshot dive. Page sends him back inside where Yuta hits a very fast dive of his own...

Kurt Angle Reveals Weird Side Effect From Major Surgery

Call it a benefit? While there are parts of it that are a bit different, the athleticism required in professional wrestling is right there with mainstream sports. The wrestlers you see are working hard every time they are in the ring and unfortunately that means they are facing the same risks as everyone else. Now one legend has an interesting story about fixing one of his injuries. Earlier this year, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle underwent double knee replacement surgery. Angle spoke about the after effects of his surgery on the Kurt Angle Show, revealing that he is now taller after the operation. Angle’s knees were bent from damage and the replacements have made him stand up straighter while also having his legs extend. Prior to his surgery, Angle said he looked like “an old man walking”. Opinion: That’s one of the weirder situations you’ll see in wrestling but it is great to have Angle so much healthier than he was in before. It would be great to have him able to walk normally agai..

REVIEW: Payback 2020: The Summerslam Sequel

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Payback 2020 Date: August 30, 2020 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Tom Phillips, Samoa Joe, Byron Saxton, Michael Cole, Corey Graves We’re back on pay per view less than a week after the last one ended, because that’s a thing that needed to happen. This time around we have the big main event of the Fiend defending the Smackdown World Title against Braun Strowman and a surprisingly heel Roman Reigns, with Paul Heyman in his corner. That sounds like it could have some serious legs so let’s get..

Israel Adesanya Comes Out To The Undertaker’s Music

Greatness recognizes greatness. Last night at UFC 276, Israel Adesanya competed in the main event. To do so, he came out in one of the greatest entrances in UFC history; using The Undertaker’s music and imagery. You can see the entrance below: [This post contains video, click to play] From ESPN: In a clinical, albeit unspectacular, performance, Israel Adesanya outpointed Jared Cannonier via unanimous decision to retain his middleweight title in the main event of UFC 276 on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena. The judges scored the bout 49-46, 49-46, and 50-45. Adesanya’s superiority in striking was evident throughout the bout. Cannonier landed nothing of real significance, with Adesanya keeping him at a distance and picking his opponent apart with jabs and kicks to the body and legs. The crowd grew restless with the lack of thrilling action, especially in the fourth round, which was marked by boos and fans raising lit-up smartphones. But Cannonier did nothing to push Adesanya, a f..

Impact Wrestling Results – May 19, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: May 19, 2022 Location: Promowest Pavilion, Newport, Kentucky Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt We are on the way to Slammiversary and as of last week, we have a new #1 contender. Eric Young won Gauntlet For The Gold to earn the title shot against World Champion Josh Alexander, but that leaves a lot of the card to be filled in. This week will feature the Briscoes defending the Tag Team Titles against Violent By Design in an Under Siege rematch so let’s get to it. We open with a recap of last week’s Gauntlet For The Gold, with Eric Young beating Chris Sabin to win the title shot. Opening sequence. Ultimate X Qualifying Match: Laredo Kid vs. Mike Bailey The winner moves on to Slammiversary. They trade legsweeps and no counts to start before flipping to their feet. An exchange of armdrags sends Bailey outside but he blocks a dive with a kick of his own. Back in and the fans are behind Bailey as he kicks Kid down for two more. The exchange of kicks goes..

AEW Rampage Results – April 15, 2022

Rampage Date: April 15, 2022 Location: Curtis Culwell Center, Garland, Texas Commentators: Excalibur, Ricky Starks, Taz It’s a big show this week as AEW has suddenly started turning Rampage into something that matters. That means a World Title match this week, as Hangman Page defends the World Title against Adam Cole in a Texas Death Match. That could mean a possible title change and that means a nice feeling. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Blackpool Combat Club vs. Gunn Club William Regal joins commentary as Austin punches Yuta in the face to start. Yuta ties the legs up and hammers away before putting on a leglock. It’s off to Danielson to tie up the legs and rip at Colton’s face, setting up a surfboard. Billy comes in and elbows Danielson in the face to cut him off as we take a break. Back with Danielson hitting his way to freedom so Moxley can come in to clean house. Everything breaks down and Yuta hits a high crossbody. Danielson adds the running knee to Colton but Billy’s..

Bad Sign For The Future Of This Monday Night Raw Star

It was nice while it lasted. A new star showing up on one of the major WWE television shows is an exciting moment. You might be seeing one of the next big things in the company, though sometimes it can take awhile to click. Other times it can be pretty clear that someone is done from the start, but this time it seems that we have seem someone get their legs cut out from underneath them for good. This week’s Monday Night Raw features Omos defeating Commander Azeez in a match that did not last three minutes. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, this is a bad sign for Azeez’s future, as he and Omos are both giants. WWE paired them together and had Omos dominate the match, which means that they are only interested in pushing him of the two. Azeez debuted his current character last year on SmackDown as Apollo Crews’ bodyguard. Opinion: I don’t think it’s any secret that Azeez is not one of the top stars in WWE at the moment, but this was the kind of loss that you see to more or less end..

NXT UK Results – March 3, 2022

NXT UK Date: March 3, 2022 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Andy Shepherd, Nigel McGuinness It’s time for another title week here as Ilja Dragunov is defending the United Kingdom Title against Nathan Frazer. That should make for a great one, as the two of them have a nice record of rising to the occasion in the big matches. Other than that, Gallus gets Sha Samuels in a preview of Joe Coffey vs. Noam Dar for the Heritage Cup later this month. Let’s get to it. We open with a video on Nathan Frazer vs. Ilja Dragunov. Opening sequence. Sha Samuels vs. Mark Coffey There are no seconds here for a change. They slug it out to start with Samuels headlocking him over. With that not working, Coffey is back up and starts working on the arm, setting up a Russian legsweep. A backdrop sends Samuels rolling to the floor but he’s right back in to kick away. Samuels drops him with a running clothesline before pulling up the suspenders for some reason. Coffey gets twisted d..

Elimination Chamber 2022 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

It’s time to head back halfway around the world as WWE is returning to Saudi Arabia. This time is a little different though, as the show will feature the Elimination Chamber rather than some generically titles event. The card could look a lot worse as there are three women’s matches and two Elimination Chamber matches, including one match where those two categories cross over. Let’s get to it. Miz vs. Rey Mysterio We’ll start with the match voted Most Likely To Be Demoted To The Kickoff Show as these two are fighting over Miz’s treatment of Dominik Mysterio. Yeah that’s a pretty lame reason to have the match but that has never stopped WWE from setting something up. This feels like a feud that has some legs to it and hopefully that could be a good thing, though it kind of hinges on the first match. I’ll take Miz to win here, as it should give you a reason to get to Miz vs. Dominik. That might not be the most interesting match but it is something that we have to do at some point. WWE s..

205 Live Results – February 11, 2022

205 Live Date: February 11, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Sudu Shah, Nigel McGuinness We’re back to this show and last week actually gave me a bit of hope. There are a lot of NXT stars who have nothing going on at the moment so give some more of them some time instead of these lower level prospects. I know they need ring time, but if you are going for the entertaining, get some better stars out here. Let’s get to it. Ikemen Jiro vs. Trick Williams Kushida and Carmelo Hayes are here too. Williams spins out of a wristlock to start but Jiro takes him down, meaning it’s time for some showboating. A cravate has Jiro in some more trouble and a dropkick to the back of the head makes it even worse. The crossarm choke goes on but Jiro slips through the legs and flips him over for the escape. Jiro runs him over and hits a double springboard moonsault for two but Williams drops him face first onto the top. A running neckbreaker finishes Jiro at 5:13. R..

Ring Of Honor TV Results – February 2, 2022

Ring of Honor Date: February 2, 2022 We’re about two months away from the relaunch and that means Ring of Honor should be able to get through with the recent content. Last week saw a few matches from last year’s Final Battle and odds are that is what we are going to be getting here. There is a good chance that some of these wrestlers won’t be around going forward, but at least they went out well. Let’s get to it. The matches are from Final Battle 2021. Opening sequence. Rok-C is ready to defend the Women’s Title against Willow Nightingale. Women’s Title: Willow Nightingale vs. Rok-C Rok-C is defending but gets taken down to start, allowing Willow to bust out a cartwheel. Willow blocks the running knees but Rok-C manages to snap off a running headscissors. Back up and Willow can’t quite hit Three Amigos, so she plants Rok-C for two instead. This time Rok-C fights up with a Russian legsweep but Willow plants her for two more. A Pounce rocks Rok-C, sending commentary into various Mon..

NXT UK Results – December 16, 2021

NXT UK Date: December 16, 2021 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andy Shepherd Things changed a bit last week as Moustache Mountain won the Tag Team Titles from Pretty Deadly. That means we can focus on something else this week, so thankfully we do have a #1 contenders match to the Heritage Cup between Nathan Frazer and A-Kid. That alone sounds awesome so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Joe Coffey vs. Charlie Dempsey The bigger Coffey pushes him up against the corner and seems to be a bit more aggressive here. Dempsey kicks his way out of a wristlock but can’t quite tie up the arm and leg at the same time. Back up and Coffey rolls through a hiptoss into an armbar as he seems to be a step ahead so far. Coffey ties up the legs and even stomps on them, only to punch the turnbuckle by mistake. Dempsey goes right after the arm, even tying it up so he can slug Coffey in the face. A backslide attempt doesn’t get Coffey anywhere so Dempsey rip..

REVIEW: WCW Monday Nitro – December 4, 2000: The Legs Are Going

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Monday Nitro #272 Date: December 4, 2000 Location: Pershing Auditorium, Lincoln, Nebraska Attendance: 3,433 Commentators: Tony Schiavone, Mark Madden, Scott Hudson Starrcade is rapidly approaching and WCW is clearly on its (final) last legs. We’re building towards a double main event of Goldberg vs. Lex Luger II and Scott Steiner vs. Sid for the World Title. If you need a better reason than that to explain why WCW is in the shape it’s in, you haven’t been paying close enough attention. Let’s get to it. We open wi..

Impact Wrestling Results – November 11, 2021

Impact Wrestling Date: November 11, 2021 Location: Sam’s Town Live, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Matt Striker, D’Lo Brown We continue on the way towards Hard To Kill, though it is going to take some time to actually get there. There are a few things going on at the moment as well, which includes the build towards Turning Point. That could mean a few different ways to go on this show so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Bullet Club vs. FinJuice The winners get the Tag Team Title shot at Turning Point and Hikuleo is here with the Club. Bey headlocks Finlay to start and gets a grand total of nowhere. Instead Finlay takes him down and drops a knee to the chest. Robinson comes in for a slam and a backsplash crushes Bey again. Bey slips out of a delayed vertical suplex though and a distraction lets Robinson get dropped throat first across the barricade. Back in and a legsweep takes Robinson down so El Phantasmo can hit a Lionsault. The top rope back rake wakes Robinso..

AEW Rampage Results – November 5, 2021

Rampage Date: November 5, 2021 Location: Chafetz Arena, St. Louis, Missouri Commentators: Ricky Starks, Taz, Excalibur It’s another live show this week and that could be a good thing. The big story this week is a face to face showdown between CM Punk and Eddie Kingston, meaning it’s time to get the popcorn ready. The talking alone should be great to hear and you can all but write in the Full Gear match from here. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Bryan Danielson vs. Anthony Bowens Max Caster is here with Bowens and raps about how Danielson loves cucumbers, is famous for his wife’s reality show, has skinny legs and a father in law who kills wrestlers’ careers (Johnny Ace). Danielson goes after the arm to start but Bowens runs him over with a shoulder. Some kicks to the face don’t do much to Danielson, who is back with a kick to the chest. They fight to the floor though and Danielson is sent into the barricade. Caster gets in a shot of his own and we take a break. Back with Danielson..

AEW Dynamite Results – October 23, 2021

Dynamite Date: October 23, 2021 Location: Addition Financial Arena, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Jim Ross, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone It’s another tournament focused show as we continue the World Title Eliminator Tournament and begin the TBS Title Tournament. We are also less than a month away from Full Gear and that show is going to need some more attention sooner than later. The card is being set up, but it rarely feels like something that is receiving focus. AEW knows how to pull these things off though so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. World Title Eliminator Tournament First Round: Bryan Danielson vs. Dustin Rhodes Feeling out process to start with Rhodes seeming to be a bit nervous to go after him. Danielson takes him down by the legs and ties them up in kind of an Indian deathlock. Back up and Rhodes hits the drop down uppercut but gets knocked to the floor, setting up the suicide dive. Dustin is right back up with a flip dive off the apron and scores with a belly to bac..

VIDEO: WWE Star Makes Bold Claims About His Place In The Company

That’s quite the bold statement. There are a lot of wrestlers on the WWE roster today and as a result, there are only so many ways to stand out. Unfortunately that means a lot of talented wrestlers are left trying to get some attention, which can be rather frustrating for the fans. It can also be frustrating for the wrestlers and one of them has something to say about his situation. Monday Night Raw’s Mustafa Ali was a guest on this week’s edition of the Bump and spoke about his career in WWE. This included a discussion of the hacker gimmick, which Ali felt had some legs, as well as a suggestion that it could return someday. Ali also said that he was the most unheard voice in the history of WWE as well as the most underutilized talent the company has ever seen. He also asked where his justice was and said all he needed was an opportunity. Ali is scheduled to face Mansoor at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia later this month. There’s a lot to this. Check out the full show (with Ali’s time b..
