Charlotte Flair: “I Didn’t Find Out I Was Winning The Title Until I Got There”

February 2, 2023

WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair was recently interviewed on “Out of Character” with Ryan Satin, where she discussed a number of topics. Among them were her return to WWE, dental issues that kept her out of wrestling, how she found out she was winning the Smackdown Women’s Championship and more. Below are some highlights from the interview: On returning to WWE: “I didn’t feel any ring rust. The only difference is being a good guy instead of a bad guy, you know, wanting to tell my bad guy what to do (she laughs), but keep your mouth shut. But no, it’s been great. This is the first time I’ve really committed to being a good guy. Like, I’m all in. There’s no on the fence or I don’t want to do this or I feel awkward. I’m gonna go for it.” On dental issues that kept Charlotte out of the ring: “Literally a week before the wedding, the implant failed. So actually, during my ceremony, I had like 22 stitches up here because they had to cut out the, when it failed, it was an i..

We see the impact about ten times before cutting to the back, where a bunch of people are laughing at Corbin. Ricochet laughs a lot and gets a match with Corbin tonight as a result. August 5, 2022

ROH World Heavyweight Champion Claudio Castagnoli was recently interviewed by Bleacher Report, where he discussed several topics. Among them were joining AEW, winning the ROH Heavyweight Championship, the future of the Blackpool Combat Club and more. Below are some highlights from the interview: On joining AEW and the matches that he had: “[Blood and Guts] was awesome in a way that I was thrown right into the fire,” he said. “It was a kind of trial by combat, so to speak. Trial by Blackpool Combat Club [laughs]. I wrestled Zack Sabre Jr. that Sunday in a very, very technical match. I think he’s probably one of, if not the, best technical wrestlers in the world. “And then there was the Blood and Guts match on Wednesday where I was in from the beginning to end. I’m always looking for challenges and that was definitely a big one. It’s so much fun to be in the ring with the Blackpool Combat Club. “I’ve only known Wheeler Yuta for about a month, but it feels way longer. Bryan Danielson..

SmackDown Results – July 1, 2022

July 2, 2022

Smackdown Date: July 1, 2022 Location: Footprint Center, Phoenix, Arizona Commentators: Pat McAfee, Michael Cole It’s the go home show for Money in the Bank and that means we probably need a lot of talk about the percentages of wrestlers who successfully cash in. I for one could go for some good old statistics to make me care about the show, as it isn’t like there is much else to say. Maybe they can surprise us though. Let’s get to it. The participants in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match are on ladders in the ring (save for Omos) and talk about how they want to win on Saturday. It means they can cash in, with Seth Rollins saying Summerslam sounds like a good idea. Sami Zayn says he’ll win and keep the contract in the Bloodline’s house. MVP laughs off the idea of anyone but Omos winning and there is no one who can do anything to stop them. Sheamus wants to beat Brock Lesnar, though Drew McIntyre says he has already done it. Cue Miz (Drew: “The frickin MIZ?”) to says he is a t..

Ring Of Honor TV Results – November 17, 2021

November 25, 2021

Ring of Honor Date: November 17, 2021 Location: 2300 Arena, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Silas Young The long march to Final Battle continues as we are still in the post-Death Before Dishonor TV tapings. In other words, these are still matches from before all of the company’s future went away, so there might still be a little something here. Then again, I’m not sure how much hope that really is. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Quinn McKay welcomes us to the show and gives us the rundown. Caprice Coleman vs. Beer City Bruiser This is Coleman’s first singles match in a long time and Bruiser has Brian Milonas and Ken Dixon with him. Before the match, Bruiser says Coleman wasn’t an official entrant in the Honor Rumble so he was never eliminated and should be #1 contender. Coleman comes to the ring and Bruiser laughs at the idea of Coleman getting back in the ring….so he can face Dixon instead. Caprice Coleman vs. Ken Dixon Dixon is in jeans and the Bounce..

Ring Of Honor TV Results – July 21, 2021

August 4, 2021

Ring of Honor Date: July 28, 2021 Location: UMBC Event Center, Baltimore, Maryland Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman These shows run together pretty badly most weeks, but I’m kind of looking forward to watching it most weeks. It feels like a show where you know you’re going to get something at least pretty good, putting it ahead of most these days. Coming in with low expectations and leaving happy is not a bad thing so maybe the can continue their streak here. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. We recap Mandy Leon cheating to beat Quinn McKay last week, with an assist from Angelina Love. The Allure laughs off the idea that McKay was a challenge and that’s it for her. Quinn McKay keeps the welcome short this week because she got hit in the head with brass knuckles. The only thing more painful than that is knowing her chances to be Women’s Champion are gone. We get the show rundown as usual. Flip Gordon vs. World Famous CB Before the match, Gordon says he has nothing to ..

VIDEO: Rob Van Dam Gives Vince McMahon An Interesting Gift

May 17, 2021

That’s one for the books. There are certain wrestlers in history who are always going to be remembered for a few different things. Some of these things might be a little bit better than others, though it can be interesting to see what happens when those same wrestlers make an appearance after being away for a bit. That was the case recently, and one of them had a gift for one Vince McMahon. A new video has been released on Twitter, featuring former WWE Champion Rob Van Dam backstage at the WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony earlier this year. Van Dam meets with McMahon and after saying hello, presents McMahon with a package of his officially branded RVD420 rolling papers used for smoking. McMahon sees what they are and laughs while accepting them. This is one that almost has to be seen to be believed. Check out the clip, plus some of Van Dam’s better moments in the ring: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video..

WATCH: Trailer For New Wrestling Animated Series Takes Shots At WWE

September 25, 2020

It’s easy to parody. As seriously as some fans take it, wrestling is something that can easily be mocked. It is a bunch of people doing a bunch of completely insane things a lot of the time but when you are inside the wrestling bubble, it works out rather well. However, if you change things up a little bit and take a look from outside the bubble, you can have a lot of laughs. That is what some wrestlers are hoping to do. Back in July, the Good Brothers (Doc Gallows/Karl Anderson) made their Impact Wrestling debuts as a big featured attraction at Slammiversary. The team was one of the biggest prizes after so many wrestlers were released from WWE back in April. As a result, Impact Wrestling suddenly had some big names on their hands with a lot of entertainment potential. Some of that potential will be on display, albeit with nothing taking place in the ring. The Good Brothers, along with Rocky Romero and NZO (formerly Enzo Amore) are working on a new series called The Gimmicks, an anim..

SmackDown Live Coverage And Results – March 27, 2020

March 28, 2020

Smackdown Date: March 27, 2020 Location: WWE Performance Center, Orlando, Florida Commentator: Michael Cole We’re back to the old days here with a taped show on the way to whatever is left to populate Wrestlemania. News has broken about a lot of people being replaced and it should be interesting to see if we actually hear about most of those names this week. It’s completely in another world at this point so you never can tell what we could get. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Here are Sasha Banks and Bayley to get things going. They talk about how big Wrestlemania is going to be but for the two of them, it is going to be a nightmare. That’s all Paige’s fault because the five on one idea isn’t fair. Not that it matters though as they’re best friends and nothing will split them up. Sasha doesn’t seem to agree but here’s Lacey Evans to interrupt. Sasha tells her to go talk to her bratty little kid because maybe she’ll listen. Lacey laughs them off and promises to beat them both up a..

Impact Wrestling Live Coverage And Results – July 19, 2018

July 20, 2018

Impact Wrestling Date: July 19, 2018 Location: St. Clair College, Windsor, Ontario, Canada Commentators: Josh Matthews, Don Callis It’s the go home show for Slammiversary and for once I’m actually interested in where we’re going. The build for the show has been rather good so far and that could make for a solid pay per view. They can still hammer in a few more things tonight but really, Sunday is all that matters at this point. Let’s get to it. We open with a rapid fire recap of the big stories. Petey Williams vs. Killer Kross The Canadian fans are behind Petey, who gets driven into the corner early on. Petey tries to strike away but gets tossed with a t-bone suplex as Kross laughs. Another t-bone drops Williams but he avoids a charge to send Kross shoulder first into the post. A Codebreaker and a tornado DDT have Kross rocked so he comes right back with a hard Saito suplex. The Krossjacket (a choke) has Petey in trouble but Kross lets him go. Kross bends over and puts Petey in pos..

On being paired with Trevor Lee as the Cult of Lee: “Well, Trevor is from about 2 hours away from where I live in Charlotte. I’ve known him since he was about 16 years old. We’re both from the same area, we’re both second generation guys. We’re both tired of the bullcrap that comes along on the indies and on Impact. Some guys want to go out there and be fancy and do all the flips and all the cool spots. We’re just going out there to bash heads and we’re going to talk crap to you while we do it!” On changing his look to fit the Cult of Lee persona: “It didn’t take much! Just stop shaving, basically! (laughs)” On the Cult of Lee’s feud with LAX: “Feud is a good way to put it! I like wrestling those guys. They bring out the best of me and Trevor. But, at the same time, we clash. We are oil ..

Daniel Bryan coaxing him to say wacky things in ROH: "Yeah, Bryan Danielson used to get in my ear. (laughs) The thing with Danielson was I really never knew what was coming. If he hit me with three lines of things I had to say, it was on the spot. There was no preparation. That was a little scary! But, he was funny. It went from something like, "You tell them that I'm the best wrestler in the world" to something wacky or funny." If Daniel Bryan should return to the ring or not: "Absolutely, if he's cleared. I was thinking about this earlier today, actually. When I first read it online, a pal of mine, Adam Pearce who I love to death, he basically congratulated Bryan. He said, "You can teach wrist locks and head locks but you can't teach passion." He (Daniel Bryan) has it. Pro wrestling and wr..

The possibility of Impact Wrestling working with his former promotion Ring of Honor: "It is 2018! Don't be surprised is all I have to say about that. (laughs)" If it is WWE versus everyone else: "I don't know if I'd say it is WWE versus the world. I think we're at a stage where, why would other companies not want to work with each other? Russo welcomes Shawn Hernandez to the show.Russo says he doesn’t understand what happened with Hernandez during his most recent run with TNA, but there’s no denying that LAX is not the same without Hernandez. Hernandez informs that there was a contract situation between Lucha Underground and TNA that has left him in a world of trouble and legal problems. Unfortunately, he’s not at liberty to discuss any of the details at this moment.Russo says that there’s no doubt in his mind that Dixie Carter had a crush on Hernandez during their time working together in TNA. Hernandez says that in 2007 and 2008 Carter started to communicate and converse with him more regularly, but in 2009 after he broke his neck things got really strange.Carter flew him to Nashville and had $2000 worth of clothes laid out for him to try on. She told Hernandez that they were going to do a photoshoot and the photos would be utilized for an upcoming push when he returned from injury. Hernandez tried on all the different clothes and took the pictures, but those shots were never used on TNA programming. Russo laughs and says there’s no doubt Carter had an obsession with Hernandez.
