One More? 51 Year Old Former WWE And Impact Wrestling Star Would Consider Comeback

Comeback? Wrestling is a unique sport as you do not know when someone might wrap up their career for good. On occasion you will see someone return after a long time away from the ring, even for a one off appearance. It can be fascinating to see someone make a comeback after years away from the ring, and now another former star is teasing a possible return to the ring. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: VIDEO: WWE Pays Tribute To 47 Year Old Star On 20th Anniversary Of His Debut During a live signing with K&S Wrestlefest, former Impact Wrestling and WWE star Trinity suggested she could return to wrestling someday. Trinity said that she was “always ready to rumble”, comparing her stunt work to wrestling. She did definitively not say that she would be returning to the ring. NXT Date: November 8, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Vic Joseph, Booker T. We are a little over a month away from Deadline and for reasons I don’t quite grasp, Von Wagner is next in line for the NXT Title shot. The good thing is that match is set for next week so it won’t drag down a major show, but we could be in for a rough two weeks. Hopefully the rest of the show can balance it out. Let’s get to it. Joe Gacy vs. Cameron Grimes Gacy, now in regular trunks instead of his full body gear, has the rest of Schism with him and gets knocked into the corner to start. Grimes fights his way out of some quick trouble and elbows Gacy in the face. Back up and Grimes slips out of a fireman’s carry and knocks Gacy outside as we take a break. We come back with Gacy stomping away and we hit the Crossface. That’s broken up and Grimes gets in a knockdown. After stomping on Reid’s hand at ringside, Grimes hits a high crossbody for two. NXT UK Date: July 7, 2022 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andy Shepherd Things need to pick up a bit around here and unfortunately that has been the case for a little while now. Between the influx of NXT stars and nothing major happening for a few weeks now, it hasn’t been the most exciting place. Maybe that can be changed this week as Kenny Williams faces Tiger Turan. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Kenny Williams vs. Tiger Turan Williams charges at him before the bell but settles for a lockup once we get going. That earns him an armbar from Turan without much effort, followed by a running shoulder for the knockdown. Turan goes back to the arm before dropkicking a frustrated Williams out to the floor. Back in and Turan does a headstand in the corner to avoid another charge before kicking Williams down again. NXT Date: July 5, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Wade Barrett, Vic Joseph It’s another special night this week, as we have the Great American Bash. That means we have a stacked card, including multiple title matches. The main event is Cameron Grimes challenging Bron Breakker for the NXT Title, which should be a heck of a match. NXT does well enough with these shows so let’s get to it. The opening video is at a cookout, hosted by Fallon Henley, Brooks Jensen and Josh Briggs. Most of the roster is there, with Jensen enjoying the women in the pool and wrestlers making various wrestling related threats. Tag Team Titles: Cora Jade/Roxanne Perez vs. Toxic Attraction Jade and Perez are challenging and Jade takes Jayne down early on. The big match on the show seems to be the Tag Team Title match as Moose defending the World Title against Heath is only so important. WATCH: New Name Announced For Wrestling Hall Of Fame

That’s a special one. There are all kinds of awards and accomplishments that can be won during a wrestler’s career, but it is rare to see anything that acknowledges their entire career. A championship reign usually only looks at a small portion of their career, as the title reign will end one day. It means a lot to see someone’s entire career recognized and that is the case again. Over the weekend at Knockouts Knockdown, Impact Wrestling announced that Awesome Kong will be inducted into the company’s Hall of Fame at Bound For Glory on October 23. Christy Hemme returned to announce the induction, with Kong appearing and dedicating her induction to Daffney, who passed away last month. Kong wrestled for Impact Wrestling in multiple stints, where she is a two time Knockouts Champion and a one time Knockouts Tag Team Champion. She also worked in Japan, Ring of Honor, AEW and briefly in WWE before announcing her retirement in August of this year. This was a special moment. Check out the an..

VIDEO: Two Former WWE Stars Sign With New Promotion

They have a new home. The wrestling story of the year has been the number of releases from WWE, as both the main roster and NXT have seen extensive names let go at one point or another. That is the kind of thing that can shake up the promotion in a huge way, but it also has a major impact elsewhere. Some wrestlers are going to go to other promotions and now we know where two more are winding up. At the end of this weekend’s Impact Wrestling Knockouts Knockdown event, a video aired announcing that the IInspiration would be debuting at Bound For Glory. The team of Jessie McKay and Cassie Lee, are better known as the IIconics from WWE. The team was released earlier this year and had not appeared for a promotion since. There is no word on what they will be doing at Bound For Glory. This should be good. You never know what you’re going to see around here and I can’t believe I’m saying this after watching this show for so many years. I’m not sure what to expect this week and I like that feeling. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Bronson Reed vs. Drew Gulak Non-title. Gulak can’t do much with the huge Reed to start as he gets thrown down a few times. Reed lifts him up for a piledriver and then throws him down instead. There’s a rather heavy headlock to set up a knockdown into a backsplash as it’s all Reed so far. Gulak’s trip to the floor lets him snap Reed’s arm across the top but an Irish whip doesn’t work. Another shot to the arm works a bit better but Reed calmly gorilla presses him. Dark Date: May 19, 2020 Location: Daily’s Place, Jacksonville, Florida Commentators: Excalibur, Taz For reasons I don’t think I want to understand, this week’s show is even longer than last week’s, clocking in at an hour and twenty seven minutes. Factoring out commercials, that is as long as a regular two hour wrestling show, comprised almost entirely of squash matches. Why this is seen as a good idea is beyond me, but that has never stopped AEW before. Let’s get to it. Quick preview of the show. Hikaru Shida vs. Dani Jordyn Dani has her burn book. They trade shoulders to start with Shida’s giving her a knockdown, followed by a backbreaker to keep Dani down. A running knee to the face lets Shida point at the camera but Jordan hits a springboard DDT back inside. The Tommaso Ciampa flipping armbar has Shida in more trouble but she’s out in a hurry with a missile dropkick for two. Rumor: Potential Ending For Shinsuke Nakamura vs. AJ Styles At Money In The Bank

So like a to go cup? Over nearly the last two months, a big story on SmackDown Live has been the battle between Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles. This has included a long line of low blows to take Styles down, but there have been a few instances of Styles doing the exact same thing to Nakamura. The two of them hit the same thing on each other to end their most recent title match. With that out of the way, what is possibly planned for their Last Man Standing match? According to Wrestling Observer Radio, a rumored ending for the match may see the same double knockdown that ended the match at Backlash earlier this month, with a twist of Styles wearing a cup and getting up to retain the title. Styles won the first match with a Styles Clash, the second match went to a double countout, the third match was a double knockout and the fourth match was a clean win for Nakamura. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Impact Wrestling has signed Northeast <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/indie/" title="indie">indie</a> wrestler MJ Jenkins to a deal.Jenkins worked the most recent set of Impact Wrestling tapings and made her <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/debut/" title="debut">debut</a> for the company at the “One Night Only: Knockouts Knockdown” event in a losing effort to Rosemary. She trained at the school owned by WWE Hall of Famer Johnny Rodz and received a WWE tryout back in 2016 at the Arnold Classic.
