When you see someone get hurt, one of the most important questions is how long they will be out of action. This can range anywhere from days to several months and all points in between. Ring Of Honor Date: March 9, 2023 Location: Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman We’re still on the first taping of this new show so things are likely to look like they did last week. The wrestling itself was pretty good, but the length of the show was quite the drag. They did offer something big at the end with Eddie Kingston showing up to challenge Claudio Castagnoli, so there is at least a path forward in the main event. Let’s get to it. Another one for the history books. This past Sunday at NXT Deadline, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods captured the NXT tag team championships by defeating Pretty Deadly. While this was a great moment for The New Day, this championship victory was also historic in a number of ways. As a result of their victory, Kingston broke the record for the most tag team championships in WWE history with 15. The previous record was held by Booker T, who had 14 championship reigns. It’s time for another AEW pay per view and as has been the case for a pretty good while now, things are not exactly feeling the most interesting at the moment. The World Title match doesn’t have the most personal setup and the rest of the show is feeling a bit hit or miss. That being said, the idea of AEW having a bad pay per view seems completely insane so I have quite a bit of confidence in what they are going to do. Let’s get to it. That’s a scary thought. Injuries are something that happen to everyone in wrestling at some point. No amount of experience or training can keep a wrestler completely safe and unfortunately the question becomes how long someone is going to be out of action. That is the case with a top WWE star and now the question has become will he ever return to the ring. Now we have another top star’s opinion. Randy Orton has not wrestled since May due to a severe back injury and there has been nothing to suggest that he will be returning to the ring anytime soon. WWE star Kofi Kingston appeared on the 10 Count podcast and said that he does not know if Orton will return to the ring. At the earliest, Orton is not expected to return before the end of the year, if at all. Opinion: That is a horrible statement to hear and hopefully Kingston is wrong and Orton is able to come back. Yes, almost again. There are a lot of different kinds of personalities in any wrestling locker room and sometimes those personalities can clash in a bad way. It can be rough seeing things break down between stars but there is very little that can be done to avoid the situation entirely. Now we are hearing about what was almost another backstage brawl between AEW stars. During the latest episode of Konnan’s Keepin’ It 100 podcast, Konnan spoke about the backstage issues in AEW between Santana and Ortiz. Konnan said that he heard that their issues almost led to a physical altercation between Santana and Eddie Kingston, though there was no reason given for what led to the issue. There is no word no why Santana and Ortiz’s relationship has broken down. It should also be noted that any Kingston and Santana incident would have taken place in May at the earliest, as Santana has been out of action with a knee injury.
