Saraya: [Triple H] Offered Me An Opportunity To Wrestle

AEW superstar Saraya was recently interviewed by Metro, where she discussed a number of topics. Among them were why she decided to join AEW, working for Triple H vs. Tony Khan and more. Below are some highlights from the interview: On a conversation with Triple H and why Saraya decided to join AEW: ‘He did give me the opportunity to potentially be a GM again, and give me the opportunity to be like, “If you ever potentially want to wrestle again, I’ll give you that opportunity too”. He was very open about any ideas that I had.’ Saraya laughed: ‘When AEW started you’re kinda like, “ooh, what’s going on over there?” It’s like the movie, the bad boy with a leather jacket and a cigarette, kinda cruising in the background like, “Who’s that bad boy?” ‘You’re definitely intrigued by the company! Just seeing how quickly in three years that it’s built – I’m like, this company! You have the bad, tribal fans, but whether you like them or not you can’t fault how amazing it is to become another..

Why Did Renee Young Leave WWE?

She taught us how to say goodbye. Earlier this year, Renee Young left WWE after 8 years with the company; her final event was to be a part of the pre-show of the this year’s edition of SummerSlam. But why did she decide to leave the company? Young answered this question and more when she recently sat down with Jason Agnew and Mark Andrada of the Sunday Night Main Event podcast. Below are some highlights from the interview: On leaving WWE: “I’ve been there for eight years and I kinda did everything I could possibly do. I felt like I was bouncing around and continually trying to carve this path out for myself and I feel like I hit my ceiling,” admitted Renee. “My strength is being a TV host and as I’ve realized more and more that after doing commentary for a year plus, that was really rocky for me. I didn’t enjoy doing it and then not really having a solid role on SmackDown when I was listed as being a Special Contributor, whatever that’s supposed to mean. Then that never actually tur..

Samoa Joe Explains How He Is Able To Come Off As "Intimidating" On WWE TV

Joe tells us all how to look scary. Whenever he is featured on WWE TV in any form or fashion Samoa Joe speaks with an intensity and passion in his voice that results in many fans calling him "intimidating" and describing him as a tough individual. Next week Samoa Joe will have an opportunity to earn his spot into the 2018 men's Money In The Bank Ladder match in a qualifier against Big Cass. But before that WWE is currently wrapping up their tour of the U.K. and Sky Sports was able to catch up with "The Destroyer" and asked him to explain the art of intimidation. "Intimidation is an unusual animal." Joe said. "Its a lot about body language and understanding the human psyche and knowing that usually a direct stare will crush most human souls, *Joe stares into the camera*, and you know that's kinda’ just the basic gist of it." He continued, "I heard that’s like an contributing factor [Being a larger athlete making him more intimidating], but I’d like to say its the soul crushi..

Cody: “You’d Be Amazed At Which Talent Are Actually Kinda D*cks”

ROH Superstar Cody [Rhodes] was a guest on Wrestling Observer Radio where he revealed that a lot of talent can be difficult to deal with at the meet and greets and why that shows who they are as a person. Cody explained that one way he has always found how he can tell what the worth of a talent is comes from the way they treat their fans at meet and greets. He explains that fans can wait hours in line just for the chance at meeting talent they look up to only to have some of them be rude. Here is what he had to say: “I have a rule about meet and greets and I shared this with Matt and Nick. I say you can always judge a talent, because I have done do many meet and greets for years Axxess along just straight WWE-style 500 people in a line machine-style. My rule is you can always judge a person by how they handle meet and greets.” “And you’d be amazed at some of the most good guy and good girl talent who are actually are kinda d*cks at meet and greets compared to those who are just swee..

Chris Jericho Says He's "Rolling With The Punches" By Wrestling The Undertaker

Chris Jericho found out about his Casket Match with little notice. Last week, Rusev was removed from his Casket Match against the Undertaker and replaced by Chris Jericho who has not wrestled in WWE since last July. In an interview with Still Real To Us, Jericho said he found out about the change to the match around the same time it was announced by WWE and said sometimes he has to be ready for such changes in his career. “I mean that’s kinda how it is when you work in WWE and the wrestling business. The entertainment is all...you learn to roll with the punches and sometimes things that are planned for six-months fall apart. Sometimes things that you never expect to happen with a week’s notice,” said Jericho. The Casket Match will take place at the Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia. The event will include seven championship matches, a Steel Cage match, and a 50-man Royal Rumble. Fightful Wrestling will have live coverage and a recapping podcast after the Greatest Roya..

CM Punk Allegedly Consumed Alcohol

<p>Bruce Prichard made the following remarks on his latest podcast installment about the time CM Punk consumed alcohol despite lving a “straight edge” lifestyle:</p><p><em>“I looked at him and said, ‘so you don’t drink, you don’t do <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/drugs/" title="drugs">drugs</a></strong>, you don’t do anything?’ [CM Punk] says ‘no, but I’m not a prude either.’ I said: ‘okay, explain that.’ So he explained that he really didn’t want to judge others that did choose that lifestyle and this is what got him over with me automatically. He was in Kansas City or St. Louis or somewhere and it was Harley Race’s birthday and he was in a camp; Harley’s camp and they were out at a restaurant bar type thing and they wanted to do. Everybody got <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/shots/" title="shots">shots</a></strong> for Harley’s birthday. Now Punk doesn’t drink, don’t do drugs, but he took a shot out of respect for Harley Race.”</em></p><p><em>“And he goes, ‘you know, Harley asked me to do it, one shot’s not gonna kill me. I’m not gonna go get hammered, I took a shot out of respect for Harley Race and for whatever reason I just thought that was cool. That just <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/kinda/" title="kinda">kinda</a></strong> showed the love and passion he had for the business and respect for the old-timers. He didn’t have to and it would have been fine.”</em></p><p><a href="https://www.podbean.com/podcast-detail/rfzmz-4313c/Something+to+Wrestle+with+Bruce+Prichard" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Click here</a> for the full podcast.</p>

Why WWE Should Give Mojo Rawley More Screen Time

<p>This may seem an odd petition to many, but hear me out. WWE, please give <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/mojo-rawley" title="Mojo Rawley">Mojo Rawley</a></strong> more screen time. There, I’ve said it.</p><p>You may be wondering just why I would request such a thing. After all, who cares about him? Well, I do, apparently. I also believe that with the right circumstances and time, Mojo could turn into a big deal. He has most of the tools needed, and with some improvement, he could be very, very good. But these things will not happen until he gets more screentime.</p><h4>He Needs to Improve<br /></h4><p>Right now, Mojo isn’t exactly setting the world on fire, particularly with his move set. Power-based repertoires are hardly the most exciting, but if they are done right, then they look spectacular. Mojo is quite far away from being spectacular.</p><p>Was he called up too early? Probably, but he was brought in to bolster the tag team division. He was going to be the hot tag, cleaning up while <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/zack-ryder" title="Zack Ryder">Zack Ryder</a></strong> wowed the audience with his 450 splashes. However, Ryder got injured. They didn’t want to leave Mojo hanging around like a bum, so they pushed him as a singles star, where his flaws and limitations were exposed.</p><p>What’s done is done. However, this can be corrected by giving Rawley more matches, which means he’d be on our televisions more often. It worked for Strowman. He couldn’t wrestle to save his life back before the brand split. Fast forward to not even a whole calendar year, and he’s one of the best parts of Raw. Some people just need to be put in a sink-or-swim scenario. Corbin wasn’t exactly good when he was called up in April. At the end of the year, he had one of the best Chairs matches against Kalisto, had an entertaining match with Jack Swagger, and was in one of the best matches of the year against AJ Styles and Dolph Ziggler.</p><p>If WWE wants Mojo <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/jojo" title="Jojo">Jojo</a></strong> to improve, then they’ve got to have him fight more people, even if its jobbers from the city.</p><h4>Mojo Rawley Is Surprisingly Eloquent</h4><p></p><p>When Mojo first appeared on Talking Smack as a singles guy, I was pleasantly surprised to hear him speak. He was quite well-spoken, a far cry from the man in the ring screaming for hype or whatever. I knew he was the youngest graduate from the University of Maryland or something like that (that’s what the graphics in his entrance told me). Well, I thought to myself, Talking Smack really can make anyone sound good. There’s less scripting, more creativity, etc. Then I heard his backstage promos.</p><p>We still came off as an eloquent speaker. He showed he could hang with the likes of Dolph Ziggler, who is no slouch on the mic either. Even with that weird, pointless segment where he gave some kids a tour and told them how hard Andre could kegstand, he sounded very natural. Yeah, the segment kinda sucked, but Mojo did his best.</p><p>When I saw/heard his promo on Smackdown with Shane, I genuinely felt for the guy. I’m probably just weak, but he seemed so sincere. He had been a ghost, he had been doing a whole lot of nothing. He just wanted one opportunity.</p><p>Then he lost to Jinder. I get it. You can’t have lower card guys beating the champ, and Jinder’s gotta get that Heel Heat™. But still, I felt bad, and I think that’s the most important part.</p><h4>He Could Become Genuinely Likable</h4><p>Right now, a lot of people don’t like Mojo Rawley. He’s got a limited move-set, and his hype shtick can rub people the wrong way. I get that. With some time, though, he could really turn some people around. Give him more promo time to show how genuine he is. Give him more matches to improve his move-set. This can be easily fixed.</p><p>In a show that runs for a whole year, you can’t tell me there’s no time for Rawley. This is the same company that made Jinder Mahal champion, has shown the Fashion Files for a month now, and had R-Truth challenge for the WWE Championship. These things aren’t bad; they’re just some of the more “out there” things WWE has done.</p><p>Lots of people say Mojo is a nice guy, whether it’s because they saw him on Breaking Ground, or because they follow him on Twitter. Give him a chance to show that he could be a big deal. If it fails, then that’s alright. These things happen. However, if it does take off, then you can make damn sure that I will be the conductor of this Hype Train.</p>

Whether You Like It or Not, Jinder Mahal Is Here to Stay

<p>As we are all no doubt very aware, Jinder Mahal is the WWE Champion. He’s bested the likes of <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/sami-zayn" title="Sami Zayn">Sami Zayn</a></strong> and Randy Orton, and is now seated comfortably at the top of the mountain. It is still unclear just how long he’s going to stay there, but things have changed. He is not going back down to where he was. WWE is clearly all in on the Maharaja Express. Once this is all done and there’s a new WWE Champion, don’t expect Mahal to fade away. From the looks of things, he is going to be around for a while.</p><h4>The Last Few Reigns Kinda Sucked</h4><p>Think about it. The last three champions, for some crazy reason, have all been transitional champions. I can’t believe it. If you add the total amount of days that John Cena, <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/bray-wyatt" title="Bray Wyatt">Bray Wyatt</a></strong>, and Randy Orton held the title this year, it’s less than the length of AJ Styles’s reign. The championship went nowhere.</p><p>Cena won it off AJ so he could get his 16 title reigns and lose it to Bray Wyatt two weeks later. Two weeks. What is this, the 70’s? Next up is Bray Wyatt. His reign started out alright. He won in the Elimination Chamber and retained against Cena and Styles in a triple threat. Cool. Randy Orton burned his house down and killed Sister Abigail to death. It was an awesome moment, but that was when the feud jumped the shark.</p><p>The bad blood between Wyatt and Orton devolved into a dick measuring contest. They argued over who had the superior magic powers, with Bray claiming he was born again and Randy just kinda stabbing the ground with a stake. Then they put on a garbage match at Wrestlemania that was certifiably spooky.</p><p>Randy won and then fought Wyatt in an even spookier House of Horrors match that he lost. He then lost his in his first title defense.</p><h4>They’ve Put Effort Into Turning Jinder Into a Champion</h4><p>The very first thing that Jinder Mahal did on Smackdown was come out of a damn limousine like he was hot stuff. The Singh brothers weren’t even riding in the same car as him. They rolled out a carpet for him to step on. Then he had a Punjabi celebration that was actually really cool and colorful. Dancers and music were there in the stadium. It was quite nice.</p><p>They are clearly trying to present Mahal as a big deal, and he does seem like one now. This shows a surprising amount of effort. If they were just doing this for kicks and giggles, then they wouldn’t hire a whole crew of Indians to sing and dance. They wouldn’t hire a limousine. WWE is seemingly going the whole nine yards for Mr. Mahal.</p><p>Is Mahal going to retain at Money in the Bank? It’s hard to say. Randy Orton is now going after him, and where the hell is <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/rusev" title="Rusev">Rusev</a></strong>, seriously. Give that man his WWE Championship match. With a new Mr. Money in the Bank about to be crowned soon, we’re about to see some new faces in the main event scene.</p><p>Mahal, to his credit, has shown that he can hang with the best. He knows how to wrestle, even if he is a bit plain and uninspiring. The Singh Brothers add depth to his character by giving him unwarranted arrogance. He claims he’s the best, but he’s clearly not. Combine that with his attempts to make us feel racist, and now everyone hates him. It’s great.</p>
