Personal Request: How Ronda Rousey Caused Controversial Name To Work Survivor Series

He was requested. There are all kinds of people who come together to make a wrestling show work and some of them do not get the attention they deserve. While the people in front of the cameras are the ones who matter the most, there are also people who are going to help put everything together behind the scenes. Now one of the more controversial ones has a bit better of an explanation. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Angry Chief: Roman Reigns Reportedly “Very Heated” Over Unplanned WarGames Spot Over the weekend, WWE presented Survivor Series, which included a SmackDown Women’s Title match that saw Ronda Rousey successfully defending against Shotzi. The match was co-produced by Jason Jordan and the returning Brian Kendrick, the latter of whom is not a full time WWE producer. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Rousey requested that Kendrick, one of her original trainers, be brought in for the show. While this was considered a tryout, it was more catering to Rousey’s request. The tryout wa..

Welcome Back? Controversial 43 Year Old Former Star Working Backstage At Survivor Series

Another hand. There are a lot of people needed to make a wrestling show work and a lot of them are not people you see in front of the camera. In addition to the wrestlers, there are coaches and producers who help put the matches together. WWE has a large group of such producers and this week saw them bring back a name to help things out a bit, though it might not be so well received. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Next Big Thing: Triple H Reveals Brock Lesnar Is Selling Meat According to Fightful Select, Brian Kendrick served as a producer on the SmackDown Women’s Title match between Ronda Rousey and Shotzi at Survivor Series, assisting Jason Jordan. According to PWInsider.com, Kendrick was working on a tryout and has not been hired by WWE. Kendrick was scheduled to make his AEW debut in February but the appearance was pulled after controversial comments involving conspiracy theories made by Kendrick resurfaced before his match. The match was rather watchable. Check out how it went, plu..

Brian Kendrick’s AEW Debut Pulled From Dynamite Due To Offensive Comments

Prior to tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Tony Khan took to Twitter and announced that the upcoming debut of Brian Kendrick would not be taking place as advertised. This was due to a resurfacing of some comments that Kendrick made about a decade ago. The statement is as follows: We’ve been made aware of abhorrent & offensive comments made in the past by Brian Kendrick. There’s no room in AEW for the views expressed by Brian. We think it’s best for all that Brian be pulled from tonight’s card as we gather more info. We’ll announce a replacement bout ASAP. AEW Dynamite Results – February 2, 2022

Dynamite Date: February 2, 2022 Location: Wintrust Arena, Chicago, Illinois Commentators: Excalibur, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone We’re back in Chicago, where a lot of big things tend to happen. There is a good chance that will be the case again here as we have a major main event between CM Punk and MJF. These two have been going at it for a long time now and we should be in for a heck of a blowoff (maybe) here. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Jon Moxley vs. Wheeler Yuta Yuta, with Orange Cassidy and Danhausen, is taking Brian Kendrick’s place after some previous controversial comments resurfaced. Moxley runs him over to start and knocks Yuta outside for a quickly broken sleeper. Back in and Moxley ties him up in something like an STF, sending Yuta to the ropes. Yuta is sat on top for a heck of a back rake before being sent outside. That means another Danhausen/Moxley staredown, allowing Yuta to hit a big dive to the floor. Back in and Moxley grabs a cutter for two, because almost ..

WWE Name Granted Release, Debuting For AEW This Week

To the other side. The rise of AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works in a good way. Now that AEW has been established as a second major wrestling promotion, there are several other spots available for wrestlers who might not fit into the WWE’s plans. They now might have something fresh and available, which seems to be the case for someone fresh out of WWE. AEW has announced that former WWE star Brian Kendrick will make his debut with the company this week on Dynamite in a match against Jon Moxley. This is a bit of a surprise as Kendrick had been working for WWE as of late January, having appeared on NXT TV back in December. According to Fightful Select, Kendrick had been granted his release from the company on Tuesday after attempting to obtain it for several weeks. It is not clear if Kendrick will be wrestling for AEW long term. Kendrick has wrestled for WWE in multiple stints since 2004. Over the course of his time with the company, Kendrick is a former WWE Tag Team and..

Another WWE Name Requests Release After Long Run With Company

He isn’t a fan either. The WWE roster has changed so much in recent years that it is hard to keep track of where everyone is going. That is not exactly a great thing to see, as several wrestlers are going all over the place, with most of them making their way out of the company. Some wrestlers have even done this by choice, and that seems to be the case again with another veteran. According to PWInsider.com, Brian Kendrick has requested his release from WWE. Kendrick has been working as a coach and occasional wrestler, though he has not wrestled a match since October. He had been scheduled for a match against Harland in NXT but the match never took place. Kendrick has reportedly requested his release from the company for the last six weeks. Kendrick has wrestled on and off for WWE for several years in multiple stints. He is a former Tag Team and Cruiserweight Champion who has most recently wrestled on 205 Live. His most recent run in WWE began when he took part in the Cruiserweight C..

WWE Announces Return Of Former Star For Special Grudge Match

Guess who’s back? Wrestlers are legitimate athletes, but they do not do the same things as their contemporaries. One of the major differences is in the area of retirement, as you do not see wrestlers stay out of the ring forever most of the time. It also helps that wrestlers are able to come back for a one off match if they choose, which is the case again with another retired wrestler. Last week on NXT, Harland attacked WWE producer and former star Brian Kendrick, causing him to suffer a neck injury. This week, Harland and Joe Gacy blamed Kendrick for causing his own injury due to his comments about Harland. As a result, Kendrick announced that he had resigned as a producer and would be returning to the ring to face Harland next week. This will be Kendrick’s first match since the October 28, 2010 edition of 205 Live. Kendrick had a heck of a career of his own. Check out what is coming for Harland: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] ..

Multiple Injuries Take Place During This Week’s NXT

Those are some nasty situations. There are a lot of ways to write someone out of action on a wrestling show and some of them are more effective than others. Perhaps the most effective is to have someone get injured, as not only does it get someone off of television, but it also puts heat on the person who did it. This week, that was the case in two different situations. There were two wrestlers written off of NXT television this week due to injuries. First up, Cora Jade was attacked by Mandy Rose following Jade’s win over Dakota Kai. Rose re-injured Jade’s arm, resulting in undisclosed injuries. Also during the show, Harland made his in-ring debut and after the match, attacked various agents and referees. This included agent Brian Kendrick, who suffered a possible cervical fracture. There is no word on when either will return. It was a brutal night. Check out how the violence went down: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This pos..

205 Live Results – September 11, 2020

205 Live Date: September 11, 2020 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Vic Joseph, Drew Gulak I’ve been liking this three match structure as of late, which makes me think that it isn’t going to last much longer. The show is still just half an hour long so it’s not like I can get too annoyed about it in the first place. We even had a bit of a cliffhanger last week when Legado del Fantasma interfered in the main event. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Ashante Adonis vs. Brian Kendrick That would be Tehuti Miles. Kendrick works on a wristlock to start but misses a charge into the corner, allowing Adonis to hit a dropkick for two. A boot to the face gives Kendrick the same and we hit a seated neck crank. Back up and Miles misses a crossbody, meaning it’s right back to the same crank. This time Miles fights up and drives him into the corner and blasts Kendrick with a clothesline. The comeback is on with a series of strikes and a spinebuster gives Miles two. There’s ..

205 Live Results – August 28, 2020

205 Live Date: August 28, 2020 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Corey Graves, Vic Joseph I’ve run out of ways to figure out what to expect from this show and in a way, that’s rather good around here. There is only so much you can expect with the rather limited roster around here and I’m not sure what to expect from that. We had a Cruiserweight Title match this week on NXT so it might be time for a new opponent. Or maybe a rematch since there was a loaded mask involved. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Tehuti comes to the ring for a match but during his entrance, Miles talks about how a rookie like him should be learning from the veterans. He might be rookie of the year though and this show exists because of him. Hopefully a veteran can bring the best out of him. At least he has an opponent. Tehuti Miles vs. Brian Kendrick Brian hasn’t been around for awhile. Miles has to spin out of an early armbar and Kendrick drop toeholds his way out of a hammerlock. Some..

Get Your Brackets Ready. WWE Announces A New Tournament For A WrestleMania Title Shot.

They sure love these things. WWE knows how to run a tournament. Last year, the company presented more than ten tournaments and has already done one this year with Worlds Collide. It’s a simple concept that can be played with to a variety of levels so it’s understandable why so many of them take place. As it turns out, WWE has already announced and started another one, with WrestleMania implications. This week on 205 Live, General Manager Drake Maverick announced an eight man tournament, with the winner receiving a title shot against Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy at WrestleMania 35. Only half of the field has been announced so far, with Drew Gulak, Brian Kendrick, Tony Nese and Kalisto set to compete next week. There is no word on who the other four entrants will be. Here’s everything we know so far. Check out Maverick’s official announcement: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is about as good of an idea as they had as it’s not like there are many options..

205 Live Results – December 19, 2018

205 Live Date: December 19, 2018 Location: Save Mart Center, Fresno, California Commentators: Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness, Percy Watson Well with the most recently title match out of the way, things are starting to get back to normal around here. That doesn’t mean we don’t have anything big planned for tonight though, with a street fight between Akira Tozawa/Brian Kendrick vs. Jack Gallagher/Drew Gulak. Tozawa and Kendrick had a great street fight last year and this has the potential to be incredible as well. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of Buddy Murphy retaining the Cruiserweight Title over Cedric Alexander at TLC. This leads into the regular preview of tonight’s show. Opening sequence. Here are Hideo Itami and Ariya Daivari for a chat. Daivari is extra serious tonight as he tells everyone to SHUT THEIR MOUTHS and show Hideo respect. He can’t sit idly by while a legend like Itami is ignored around here. Itami hasn’t had any real competition for two months so until that i..

205 Live Results – August 28, 2018

205 Live Date: August 28, 2018 Location: Scotiabank Arena, Toronto, Ontario, Canada Commentators: Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness, Percy Watson We’re still on the way towards….whenever the next Cruiserweight Title match is going to be as Drew Gulak seems ready to get another shot at Cedric Alexander. Last week’s main event saw Lucha House Party defeat Buddy Murphy and Tony Nese, but we could still get a thing or two more out of the feud, especially since Kalisto got involved at the end. Let’s get to it. Here are last week’s results if you need a recap. Drake Maverick gives us the recap/preview. Opening sequence. Brian Kendrick vs. Akira Tozawa Before the match, Kendrick and Brian Gallagher rip on Toronto a bit for being a secondary Commonwealth city. In addition to that, Tozawa doesn’t know his place and needs to learn to keep his mouth shut. Tonight, Tozawa is taking the beating that he deserves. Kendrick bails to the floor to start so Tozawa dives onto both he and Gallagher. Back i..

Main Event Results – May 24, 2018

Main Event Date: May 24, 2018 Location: Times Union Center, Albany, New York Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Vic Joseph, Percy Watson I’m out of ways to say that this show is going to be all about Money in the Bank qualifying matches. Those things have dominated Monday Night Raw and Smackdown for the last few weeks now and it’s burned out a lot of my interest in the upcoming pay per view. It says a lot when the Main Event original content needs to bail us out. Let’s get to it. Here are last week’s results if you need a recap. Opening sequence. Brian Kendrick/Jack Gallagher vs. Lince Dorado/Kalisto Kendrick uses an early Gallagher distraction to take Kalisto down in the corner to start. A backbreaker keeps Kalisto in trouble and let’s talk about the Cruiserweight Title match. Kendrick can’t get the Captain’s Hook so it’s off to Gallagher (no longer in Slytherin green), who is backdropped in a hurry. That’s not enough for a hot tag though as Gallagher runs over ..

205 Live Results – May 22, 2018

205 Live Date: May 22, 2018 Location: DCU Center, Worcester, Massachusetts Commentators: Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness, Percy Watson We’re back stateside now and that means we need to get ready for next week’s title match with Cedric Alexander defending against Buddy Murphy. Tonight though we’ll be seeing a battle of the strikers as Hideo Itami faces Akira Tozawa in a battle over their issues during tag team matches of late. Let’s get to it. Here are last week’s results if you need a recap. We open with a look at Itami vs. Tozawa with Itami saying he didn’t like their time together. Why did Itami need a partner in the first place? Opening sequence. Drew Gulak vs. Gran Metalik Before the match, Gulak says he’s taking down another member of Lucha House Party. They can flip and dive all they want but if they step to him, they’ll tap out. Hang on though as here are Brian Kendrick and Jack Gallagher for commentary. Kendrick even has some drawings for the other comm..

An Injured Superstar Returned To Action Before Raw Last Night

Before Raw last night in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion returned to action, partaking in a tag team match. The Brian Kendrick has been out of action for the past few months since receiving an injury from Hideo Itami via a botched GTS. This led to Jack Gallager being forced to go it alone. Gallagher would obviously go on to be part of the Cruiserweight Championship tournament and have mild success before being eliminated. Kendrick has appeared on 205 Live in recent weeks backstage but did not come out to compete. This changed on Raw. He predictably teamed with Gallager in a losing effort against Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik. WWE 205 Live Results – July 25 2017

<p>Welcome to the fastest hour on television, 205 Live!</p><p>Tonight’s show features the Cruiserweight Champion, King Neville in action in the main event! Neville faces <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/ariya-daivari" title="Ariya Daivari">Ariya Daivari</a></strong>, a man who has made a name for himself recently by destroying Akira Tozawa. Last night, Daivari attacked Tozawa again but this time, he also took the fight to Neville! The audacity! Daivari clearly believes he is on the Neville level and tonight he has a chance to prove it. I could easily see a scenario in which Tozawa interferes tonight and we end up with a Triple Threat at SummerSlam, although that might leave us with too many multi-man matches at the summer showcase.</p><p>Also on tonight’s 205 Live, TJP and Rich Swann continue their seemingly friendly battle for supremacy as they partake in tag team action, albeit on separate teams. TJP teams with Tony Nese tonight to take on Rich Swann and Cedric Alexander, in which should be a great match.</p><p>I’d also expect to see Noam Dar, Mustafa Ali, <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/drew-gulak" title="Drew Gulak">Drew Gulak</a></strong>, Brian Kendrick and <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/jack-gallagher" title="Jack Gallagher">Jack Gallagher</a></strong> on tonight’s show. Let us know what you’re excited to see, or not excited to see, on the free Ringside Talk app and remember to enjoy the show!</p>
