AEW Signs Three New Stars To Full Time Deals

They have a new home. Signing new stars is one of the most important things a promotion has to do. At some point, a company needs to have someone new brought in to freshen things up a bit. It means a lot to bring in someone new that the fans can connect with and respond to, which is what has taken place again. This time though, three new names are officially onboard. Earlier this month, the Kingdom (Mike Bennett, Matt Taven, Maria Kanellis-Bennett) made their AEW debut and challenged FTR. According to Fightful Select, the team has officially signed with AEW but were not under deals when they appeared on Rampage. According to PWInsider.com, the three were officially signed to AEW deals rather than appearing for Ring Of Honor, where they all worked before. Opinion: These are the kinds of signing that make all the sense in the world, as AEW is signing stars who are known around the industry but also fresh in AEW. The team can do some good things for the company and I’m curious to see wh..

Three New Stars Make AEW Debuts On Rampage (Contains Mild Spoilers)

They’re up next. AEW has built up a rather diverse and talented roster in its time. The company features a mixture of young, up and coming stars, current names and veterans, who have come together to create a mixture of matches and wrestlers. New names still need to be added though and that was the case again this week as three more names made their AEW debuts. The main event of this week’s AEW Rampage saw FTR and Shawn Spears defeat the Embassy in a six man tag match. Following the match, the Kingdom, comprised of Mike Bennett and Matt Taven with Maria Kanellis, interrupted in their AEW debuts. The Kingdom and the Embassy then joined forces to attack FTR until Samoa Joe and Wardlow made the save. This comes less than a week after the Kingdom reportedly finished up with Impact Wrestling. Opinion: You can’t say that Tony Khan isn’t committed to the Ring Of Honor stuff as the brand seems to have landed even more stars. I’m not sure what that is going to mean but at least they have some..

Impact Wrestling Date: May 12, 2022 Location: Promowest Pavilion, Newport, Kentucky Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt We’re done with Under Siege and that means we need a new #1 contender. Josh Alexander successfully defended the World Title against Tomohiro Ishii so now it’s time for something new. That means the return of the Gauntlet For The Gold, a huge gauntlet match, to crown a new #1 contender. Let’s get to it. Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt are in the ring to hype up the Gauntlet For The Gold. Video on Gauntlet For The Gold. Ultimate X Qualifying Match: Chris Bey vs. Kenny King The winner is in the Ultimate X X-Division Title match at Slammiversary and Maria Kanellis-Bennett is on commentary. King takes him down with a headlock to start but gets armdragged into an armbar. A dropkick puts King on the floor, where he gets knocked down again for a bonus. Back in and King hits some running knees in the corner for two, followed by a snap powerslam for the same. Th..

There Might Be Some New Free Agent Wrestlers On The Market Soon

That could make things interesting. One of the most interesting things to see in wrestling is a free agent hitting the market. There is so much talent out there and it can be fascinating to see where someone might wind up going. It is something that you get to see every now and then, but now we might be seeing a good number of wrestlers hitting the markets unless something changes. Earlier this year, several former Ring Of Honor wrestlers debuted in Impact Wrestling under the name Honor No More and have stayed with the company since. According to Fightful Select, as of April 1, multiple members of the stable have not been signed to Impact Wrestling. There is no word on which members have been signed or not. The team includes Mike Bennett, Maria Kanellis, Matt Taven, Vincent, Kenny King and PCO. Eddie Edwards is part of the team but was signed to Impact Wrestling before the rest of the group debuted. Opinion: I’m not sure who is going to wind up sticking with Impact Wrestling and who ..

Ring Of Honor TV Results – January 19, 2022

Ring of Honor Date: January 19, 2022 We’re still on the road to April and that means it’s time for another Best Of show. These things have mainly been the Best Of the last year and it would be nice to see something different showcased. That being said, we are just over two months away from the relaunch so you might not want to go too deep into the vault. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Quinn McKay…is not here this week, as we will be looking at the women’s division. We get a video on the women’s division and what it means to everyone involved. Maria Kanellis-Bennett is ready to interview various women in the Women’s Title tournament. She has done a little bit of everything and now she is part of the Board of Directors. After the Coronavirus pandemic hit, she wanted to build something new and that is what she is doing here. Some of the women in the tournament are very happy that they were given their Ticket To Gold, meaning their entrance to the tournament. Being in the tournam..

WATCH: Ring Of Honor Title Changes Hands As Invasion Continues

When worlds collide. The wrestling world has changed a lot in recent years, as the barriers between promotions have gone down. The separation between companies has lowered as promotions are starting to work together and acknowledge each other more than ever. That has made for some interesting moments, and that was the case again this week, involving a promotion that is only kind of around at the moment. This week on Impact Wrestling, Deonna Purrazzo defeated Rok-C to win the Ring of Honor Women’s Title. Following the match, Ring of Honor’s Maria Kanellis-Bennett came to the ring to confront Purrazzo, with several other Ring of Honor wrestlers surrounding her. Impact Wrestling stars attempted to make a save but were attacked as well. This comes after the Ring of Honor stars invaded Hart To Kill, a show that also saw the Ring of Honor World Title defended. It was a big night. Check out the match, the post match, and the new champ in action: [This post contains video, click to play] [..

More On Ring Of Honor’s Impact Wrestling Invasion

This could be the start of something big. The wrestling world has been changing in a lot of different ways over the last several months, with one of the biggest changes being the end of the original Ring of Honor. The promotion let all of its contracted workers go, meaning they are now available to work elsewhere. A large group of them might have found a new home, and now we might know something more about them. This weekend, Impact Wrestling’s Hard To Kill pay per view included an invasion by a group of former Ring of Honor wrestlers. Matt Taven, Vincent, PCO, Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis all appeared, with all but Kanellis attacking Eddie Edwards, Rhino, Heath, Rich Swann and Willie Mack. According to PWInsider.com, neither Taven, Vincent, PCO nor Bennett are currently under contract to Ring of Honor. Kanellis’ contract status is unclear but she will be part of the group in Impact Wrestling. It was a big moment. Check out who is coming to Impact Wrestling: [This post contains v..

Ring Of Honor Invades Impact Wrestling Hard To Kill

Nice to meet you? There have been a lot of changes in the wrestling world over the last year and some of those changes have been rather important to say the least. One of the biggest has been the end of the original era for Ring of Honor, as the company is going into hiatus. Those wrestlers are going to have to go somewhere though, and now we know where some of them seem to have landed. This weekend, Impact Wrestling presented their annual Hard To Kill event. Following the Hardcore War between Violent By Design and Eddie Edwards/Rich Swann/Willie Mack/Heath/Rhino, a group of Ring of Honor wrestlers appeared and attacked Edwards and company. This included PCO, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett and Vincent, accompanied by Maria Kanellis. There is no word on if more Ring of Honor wrestlers will be joining them in the future, though the show did feature a match for the Ring of Honor World Title, with Jonathan Gresham retaining against Chris Sabin. We sense there is a little invasion going on here..

Former Stars May Be Returning To Impact Wrestling

Welcome home. The wrestling landscape has been shaken up in a lot of ways in recent weeks and there is nothing to suggest that the changes are going to be ending anytime soon. One of the biggest changes in recent weeks has been the end of the original era of Ring of Honor, as the company is going into hiatus, allowing its wrestlers to go wherever they like. Now we know where another one is heading. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Mike Bennett is expected to sign with Impact Wrestling. While not confirmed, there is a chance that his wife, Maria Kanellis-Bennett, could join him. Bennett pulled out of a recent independent date, reportedly due to a scheduling issue with Impact Wrestling. During his time in Impact Wrestling, Bennett won the X-Division Title. Bennett did make an impact in his first run with the company. Check out his time in Impact Wrestling: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, ..

Ring Of Honor TV Results – November 3, 2021

Ring Of Honor Date: November 3, 2021 Location: 2300 Arena, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman It’s time for the Halloween edition, which did air on time in some of the markets so this isn’t that far out of place. I have no idea what to expect around here now that everything has changed, but that kind of fits how Ring of Honor has worked for years. I could go for some more of what they have been doing so this is kind of appropriate. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Quinn McKay gives us the welcome. She also gets to draw the names for the Trick Or Treat match…but we only hear EC3, with the rest of the picks in fast forward. Moderately intriguing, save for EC3 that is. She has her own match this week and needs a replacement, but it needs to be ANYONE but Brian Johnson. Delirious runs down the card. Commentary is in costumes as well, with Ian as a Teletubby, Coleman as Don Cornelius from Soul Train and Maria Kanellis-Bennett as…a woman in a dress..

How Bray Wyatt’s Puppets Almost Wrestled In WWE

What could have been. There are certain characters in wrestling who are about as unique as you can get. No one else can play them and no one else would be able to do it either. That is the kind of special status that you do not get to see very often but it is rather special when it works. WWE has that at the moment, but it was almost taken in a rather different direction. In a new interview with Metro.uk, Mike Bennett, formerly known as Mike Kanellis in WWE, revealed that was scheduled to portray Sister Abigail as part of a new Bray Wyatt faction. Bennett says that Vince McMahon wanted Wyatt to lead a faction again, this time with Wyatt’s Firefly Funhouse puppets being portrayed by wrestlers. While Bennett would have been Abigail, Eric Young would have been Mercy the Buzzard. This never came to fruition and Bennett was released from WWE on April 15, 2020. This could have been a mess. Check out what we almost saw and who could have done it: [This post contains video, click to play] ..

That’s A Surprise….Maybe? Report: The Number Of WWE Stars Who Have Talked To AEW “Would Blow Your Mind.”

I’m almost worried about the actual number. The wrestling landscape has changed dramatically in the last few months, with the emergence of AEW offering a legitimate alternative for several wrestlers. That has caused WWE to be faced with competition for the first time in a long time. With that comes some choices for the WWE roster and as it turns out, some of them are interested. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, a high amount of people on the WWE roster have contacted AEW, to the point where it would “blow your mind”. WWE is offering quite a bit of money to keep the talent but some of them are turning it down. Names such as Dustin Rhodes and Shawn Spears have left, though others have re-signed, such as the Usos and Mike and Maria Kanellis. This is the kind of thing they seem to want to do. Check out Cody’s symbolic attack on WWE from Double Or Nothing: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I can’t say I’m entirely surprised by this as there are so..

205 Live Results – March 19, 2019

205 Live Date: March 19, 2019 Location: Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, Indiana Commentators: Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness, Aiden English The tournament concludes tonight and we’re going to have a new Wrestlemania match set. This wee will see Cedric Alexander vs. Tony Nese for the right to challenge Buddy Murphy for the Cruiserweight Title in a match that totally won’t be on the Kickoff Show. Other than that, Mike Kanellis is running out of chances to prove himself worthy of being on the 205 Live roster. Let’s get to it. Drake Maverick recaps the tournament before tonight’s final. Opening sequence. Here are the Kanellises for a chat before Mike’s (now with no hair) match. Maria says he’s the greatest wrestler in the world and better than the best. Mike is about to prove everyone wrong, including whoever his opponent is. Mike Kanellis vs. Akira Tozawa Tozawa is a mystery opponent. Mike grabs the arm and is immediately driven into a rope for the break. An aggressive fight ove..

Main Event Results – September 6, 2018

Main Event Date: September 6, 2018 Location: Nationwide Arena, Columbus, Ohio Commentators: Vic Joseph, Percy Watson, Nigel McGuinness The march towards three different pay per views continues and that could mean a variety of things. Well actually it means we get what we already know we’re getting, because this show is a collection of highlights. Monday’s show was pretty dreadful while Tuesday’s was a lot of fun so let’s get to it. Here are last week’s results if you need a recap. Opening sequence. Tyler Breeze vs. Mike Kanellis Mike kicks him down early on and goes up top, only to get small packaged for two. Some stomping has Breeze in trouble and it’s time to work on the knee. A half crab (with some yelling at the fans) keeps Breeze down but a superkick gives him two. Breeze actually rolls him up into a half crab of his own but gets catapulted into the corner. Kanellis grabs a rollup, only to be reversed into another one to give Breeze the pin at 4:50. Result: Tyler Breeze b. Mi..

Main Event Results – June 7, 2018

Main Event Date: June 7, 2018 Location: Toyota Center, Houston, Texas Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Percy Watson, Vic Joseph I’m actually more interested than usual in this show based on how different this week’s television shows went. Monday Night Raw was such a disaster while Smackdown was a perfectly watchable wrestling show. I’m not sure how they’re going to pull off a highlight show when almost nothing interesting was going on Monday but they’ve pulled off something similar before. Let’s get to it. Here are last week’s results if you need a recap. Opening sequence. No Way Jose vs. Mike Kanellis They fight over a lockup to start and Jose scores with a hiptoss. Some forearms in the corner have Jose in trouble and we hit the chinlock. Back up and Kanellis takes way too much time yelling at the conga line and Jose is back up with a clothesline. A superkick gives Kanellis too (with a blown kiss) but Jose’s pop up right hand is good for the pin at 5:11. Resul..
