NXT Date: March 7, 2023 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Vic Joseph, Booker T. This is the Roadblock special, because we need a special event less than a month before what is probably the biggest NXT event of the year. Since the NXT Champion is in a six man tag, the real main event is probably Shawn Michaels appearing on the Grayson Waller Effect. NXT has teased Michaels fighting Waller, so odds are we see who is doing it in Michaels’ place this week. Let’s get to it. We open with Tiffany’s Epiphanies, as Tiffany Stratton runs down the card and talks about how we got here. Tony D’Angelo vs. Dijak This is the Jailhouse Street Fight, meaning a casket match with a jail cell. Dijak tries a nightstick to start but gets clotheslined to the floor instead. It’s way too early to send Dijak into the cell but D’Angelo fights his way out of it too. After Stacks gets knocked down, they head back inside where Dijak hits High Justice onto a chair. Dijak throws in ..
It might be a bit. Villains have a tricky job in wrestling, as they have to find a way to make the fans dislike them without being too good at what they do. One of the easiest ways is to take away something that the fans want, which could come in many forms. Occasionally it means having a wrestler not be around for one reason or another, which is what we are seeing again now. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Farewell? New Japan’s Jay White Signals He Is Ready For A New Era, Possible Move Last week on AEW Dynamite, Hook attacked Stokely Hathaway, allegedly injuring his arm in the process. As a result, Hathaway has been wearing a brace on his arm since the attack. This week, Hathaway was talking about wanting justice for the attack when he was told that Hook had been suspended, pending an investigation. There is no word on how long Hook will be missing from AEW TV. Hook is something different. Check out what he has done in AEW: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains vi..
When factions collide. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the full match between The Shield and Evolution from WWE Extreme Rules 2014. You can see the video in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: Evolution worked over their opposition methodically. “Bootista” chants rained down as The Animal worked over his prey, and Ambrose looked downright punch-drunk after an exchange with Triple H, which ended with a fierce spinebuster by the 13-time World Champion. The Hounds of Justice would not be denied, though. The trio’s Lunatic Fringe turned the tides with a DDT on Triple H, and once Reigns found his way into the contest, he turned into a one-man wrecking crew, taking out Orton, Batista, and Triple H in succession. The Shield looked to have the match locked up when they struck Batista with a Triple Powerbomb, yet savvy veterans Orton and Triple H prevented the pinfall. Reigns subsequently ate a Pedigree and an R..
Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Wrestlemania VIII Date: April 5, 1992 Location: Hoosier Dome, Indianapolis, Indiana Attendance: 62,167 Commentators: Gorilla Monsoon, Bobby Heenan This was one of the names mentioned for a possible redo so I’ll throw it in as a bonus. On his podcast, Bruce Prichard mentioned this as one of the worst Wrestlemanias ever and I’m really not sure why. The show features a double main event with Ric Flair defending the WWF World Title against Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan’s possible retirement match against Sid Justice. Le..
That’s quite the bold statement. There are a lot of wrestlers on the WWE roster today and as a result, there are only so many ways to stand out. Unfortunately that means a lot of talented wrestlers are left trying to get some attention, which can be rather frustrating for the fans. It can also be frustrating for the wrestlers and one of them has something to say about his situation. Monday Night Raw’s Mustafa Ali was a guest on this week’s edition of the Bump and spoke about his career in WWE. This included a discussion of the hacker gimmick, which Ali felt had some legs, as well as a suggestion that it could return someday. Ali also said that he was the most unheard voice in the history of WWE as well as the most underutilized talent the company has ever seen. He also asked where his justice was and said all he needed was an opportunity. Ali is scheduled to face Mansoor at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia later this month. There’s a lot to this. Check out the full show (with Ali’s time b..
Fusion #108 Date: May 2, 2020 Location: Auditorio de Tijuana, Tijuana, Mexico Commentators: Rich Bocchini, AJ Kirsch MLW took over the Super Series last week and this time around it’s Injustice’s chance to win some titles. The big main event is for the AAA Trios Titles, which could be a heck of a match as Injustice can do well in the ring. I’m not sure what to expect from this show but it should be rather energized. Let’s get to it. Injustice knew they’d get here and they’re ready to win some gold. Opening sequence. Black Destiny/Fantastick/Rayo Star vs. Mocho Cota Jr./Tito Santana/Carta Brava Jr. This is not part of the Super Series. Destiny and company have an unnamed woman with them. And no it’s not that Tito Santana. Cota and company headscissors the other three to the floor setting up the triple dives to put everyone down. Fantastick hurricanranas Brava into the corner as commentary doesn’t seem to know who is who. A Code Red gets two on Santana and it’s Cota coming in to dro..
Impact Wrestling Date: November 22, 2018 Location: Sam’s Town Hotel & Gaming Hall, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Josh Matthews, Don Callis It’s time for a holiday show and in this case, that might not be the best thing in the world. The biggest story tonight is going to be the turkey suit match, which is one of those traditions that has been around here for years despite not many people seeming to be a fan of the thing. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. We open in the back with the tumbler containing the names available for the ten person tag. The captains, Fallah Bahh and Eli Drake, come in to talk about the match. Believe it or not, Drake is a little bit better in this area. The interviewer throws us to a video explaining the concept…which is last year’s match in its entirety. Team Edwards vs. Team Adonis Eddie Edwards, Garza Jr., Allie, Fallah Bahh, Richard Justice Chris Adonis, Caleb Konley, Laurel Van Ness, KM, El Hijo Del Fantasma The loser of the fall wears a turkey suit..
This ain’t ballet. Wrestling is a dangerous sport. You often hear about injuries taking place in wrestling, which could come from all kinds of things. It might be a botched spot, a slip in the ring, someone hitting you very hard, or just a freak accident. The injury bug has bitten someone else in WWE and this time, it’s not even someone actually wrestling. It’s one of those fluke accidents that you never see happening and should serve as a cautionary tale for all of us. Check out our full SmackDown Live results right here and see what went wrong. Corey Graves posted a photo on Instagram of him suffering a hand injury at SmackDown Live. During the show, New Day came to the ring for Miz TV and Big E. threw his ring jacket at Graves, causing Graves’ pencil to stab him in the hand. Graves did say that he powered through the broadcast but wanted Big E. brought to justice. While Graves is speaking in less than serious terms, he did seem to actually have injured his ha..
It was previously reported that WWE Hall of Famer Tammy “Sunny” Sytch was recently arrested in New Jersey for being a “fugitive from justice.” According to a new report from Fox News and the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office, Sunny is currently facing six charges of contempt — disobedience/resistance. The charges are said to be related to not appearing before the court in two different jurisdictions. Sunny made a surprise appearance at the 15th anniversary of “Raw” several years ago. You can see footage of that below: [This post contains video, click to play] However, there is still no word on the exact circumstances that led to her arrest. As we previously reported, this is not the first time that Sunny has been in trouble with the law. In January 2017, she plead guilty to several charges, including driving without a license, driving an unregistered vehicle, and operating a vehicle without required financial responsibility (no insurance). In addition, she was arrested for disorde..
