Daniel Cormier Says Brock Lesnar Bout Would Bring In Big Money

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier is preparing to challenge UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic for the gold in the main event of UFC 226. Three Fights Added To UFC Fight Night Singapore, Including OSP

A trio of bouts are now set for the UFC Fight Night Singapore card as #8 Ovince St. Preux faces #12 Tyson Pedro, Jake Matthews faces Shinsho Anzai and Matt Schnell faces Naoki Inoue. St. Preux (22-11-0) has won three of his last four under the UFC banner, but is coming off of a loss to Ilir Latifi at UFC On Fox 28. St. Preux has previously challenged for the UFC Interim Light Heavyweight Title, losing to then champion Jon Jones at UFC 197. Pedro (7-1-0) has won three of four fights during his UFC tenure, with those wins coming over Khalil Rountree, Paul Craig and Saparbek Safarov. Pedro has earned seven wins as a professional MMA fighter, with all of those victories coming in the opening round. Matthews (13-3-0) enters the contest in the midst of a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Bojan Velickovic and Li Jingliang. Brock Lesnar Says He’d Fight Jon Jones — Anytime! Anywhere!

<p>During a Facebook Live chat, UFC Fighter Jon Jones was asked about possibly having a fight against <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/brock-lesnar" title="Brock Lesnar">Brock Lesnar</a></strong> sometime down the line. Jones responded, <em>“It would be a massive draw, really big for the <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/sport/" title="sport">sport</a></strong>.”</em></p><p>He continued, <em>“It would be a great challenge. [He’s] a big old boy. I doubt Brock Lesnar would take that fight, though. I definitely wouldn’t try to wrestle with him the whole time. I’m not going to tell you what I would do.”</em></p><p>Jones also spoke to BT sports and made similar remarks when asked about a possible fight against the current WWE Universal Champion. Major Update on Brock Lesnar’s WWE & UFC Status

<p>It was reported via Pro Wrestling Sheet yesterday that <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/brock-lesnar" title="Brock Lesnar">Brock Lesnar</a></strong> has made it clear to WWE officials that <a href="http://www.allwrestlingnews.com/2017/07/19/brock-lesnar-done-wwe-contract-runs/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">he won’t be re-singing with WWE</a> after his contract expires shortly after <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/go/wrestlemania" target="_blank" title="WrestleMania">WrestleMania</a></strong> next year. This doesn’t appear to be the case, according to the Wrestling Observer.</p><p>Dave Meltzer indicated on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio that reports of Lesnar leaving WWE once his contract expires to pursuit a career in the UFC are premature and he wouldn’t take these reports serious. Meltzer has a hard time believing that Brock would turn down “easy money” working for WWE at his current age of 40. The belief is that WWE is the better long-term option for Lesnar at his age.</p><p>In regards to UFC’s Jeff Novitsky shooting down reports that Brock Lesnar has not entered into the USADA drug testing pool, Meltzer said that he could enter the pool today and be ready to return for a fight early next year. Meltzer doesn’t believe that Lesnar will fighting for the UFC at the end of this year and also hinted that a fight early next year wouldn’t pan out well because of the <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/event/royal-rumble" title="Royal Rumble">Royal Rumble</a></strong> and the risk of him possibly getting hurt.</p><p>As far as possible opponents for Brock if he does make a UFC return, Meltzer named Stipe Miocic and Jon Jones as potential fights.</p>
