This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured two first round matches in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament. Each match included a Joker, or wild card entry. First, the men’s Joker was revealed as Johnny Elite, better known as John Morrison, who lost to Samoa Joe in his AEW debut. Later. WWE References To Released Wrestlers Thought To Go Too Far

It didn’t go over well. There are a lot of ways to hype up a match in WWE and some of them are a bit more successful than others. Some of the most effective promos can also be the most controversial, but they certainly get people talking. Sometimes though the controversy goes a bit too far and it rubs people the wrong way. That seems to be the case again this week. Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan had a contract signing during this week’s Monday Night Raw to set up their Women’s Title match. During the exchange, both mentioned some recent WWE releases, with Morgan saying that Lynch’s contract was the reasons her friends were gone. WATCH: Long Time Tag Team Splits On Monday Night Raw, To Fight Next Week

So much for that. Tag team wrestling has been a part of wrestling for a very long time now and that is the case in WWE as well. However, WWE does not exactly have the best history when it comes to tag wrestling, as the company seems to like building teams up only to split them apart. That seems to be the case again, as another long term tag team broke up after a long time together. This week on Monday Night Raw, the Miz and John Morrison split up, officially ending their team. The split came after Morrison distracted the referee during Miz’s match against Xavier Woods, costing Miz the match. Miz attacked Morrison after the match and laid him out. Later in the night, Morrison said that the team was done and a match between the two of them was announced for next week’s show. Miz and Morrison have been a team since Morrison returned to WWE in 2020 after originally teaming together from 2007-2009. They are three time Tag Team Champions. It was a bad night. A Big Split Could Be Coming On Monday Night Raw

There is a point to this. Monday Night Raw has been the flagship show for WWE for a very long time now and that is likely to continue to be the case for the foreseeable future. In theory, anything that happens there is going to mean something, though sometimes that result is more accurate than others. Something happened during this week’s episode and we might be seeing it go somewhere else in the future. This week’s Monday Night Raw featured a backstage interview between John Morrison and the Miz. Morrison was unhappy with the Miz for not telling him that his knee was healed but the two ultimately made amends. As the two were arguing, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods appeared behind them, holding up a sign saying “BUY OUR SHIRTS”, though Miz and Morrison did not acknowledge them. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, this is designed to lead to a feud between the teams, which will lead to Miz and Morrison feuding against each other at some point in the future. Miz and Morrison have be..

How A WrestleMania 37 Match Almost Didn’t Happen

What could have not been. There have been a lot of stories taking place in wrestling this year, to the point where you might not remember every major thing that has taken place. With so many things going on, it can be easy to forget some of the things that have happened, no matter how big they might have been at the time. Now we are learning a bit more about a pretty big angle. Monday Night Raw’s Damian Priest was recently a guest on the Battleground podcast and discussed his partnership with Bad Bunny, which included a tag match at WrestleMania 37. According to Priest, the plan for the tag match was dropped the day before the Royal Rumble, only to be switched back the next day. Priest said that Triple H told him about the change, with Bunny saying that he wanted to work with Priest personally. Bunny and Priest would defeat Miz and John Morrison at WrestleMania. Priest debuted on the main roster at the Royal Rumble, where Miz and Morrison destroyed Bunny’s DJ equipment. As a result, ..

Another New Title Match Announced For Summerslam

Keep it growing. Summerslam has some special potential this year and that is a great thing for WWE to see. The company could be in for an awesome night as there are so many things to put on the card. That could include anything from special feuds to gimmick matches to title matches or maybe all of the above. One of them was added to the card this week. This week on Monday Night Raw, Damian Priest challenged Sheamus to a United States Title match at Summerslam. Sheamus accepted, making the match official. The match came about after Priest called out Sheamus after defeating John Morrison. Sheamus came back into the arena and accepted the challenge, after which Priest had to take out Morrison against. Priest debuted on the main roster at the 2021 Royal Rumble after over a year in NXT. During his debut, he began a feud with the Miz and John Morrison, ultimately leading to a tag match where Priest and Bad Bunny defeated the two of them at WrestleMania 37. Following a brief hiatus due to a..

Update On Randy Orton Missing From WWE TV

Sometimes things just happen. With so many wrestlers on the WWE rosters, you are going to run into some strange situations from time to time. That seems to be the case with one of the bigger names in WWE today and now it seems to have been taken a step further. According to Fightful Select, Monday Night Raw’s Randy Orton has been placed on the Disabled/Inactive list in WWE in recent weeks. However, there is no word on why that is the case. There is nothing to suggest that the two sides are having any kind of issues. It is not clear when Orton will be back, though he is hoped to be back on television by the August 2 Monday Night Raw.
