Monday Night Raw Date: March 13, 2023 Location: Amica Mutual Pavilion, Providence, Rhode Island Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Corey Graves We have six major TV shows left before Wrestlemania and there is still some work to do. Most of the matches and stories are already set but there are a least a few things that need to be finalized. There is a good chance that some of those will be covered, or at least addressed, tonight so let’s get to it. Here is Edge to get things going. He loves that kind of reaction from the crowd but wants to get straight to the point. Edge calls out Finn Balor so here is the full Judgment Day. Edge says that Balor’s request for a Wrestlemania match is on, which Balor appreciates. With that out of the way, Edge recaps the feud and says he doesn’t have time to deal with all of these people anymore. That’s why at Wrestlemania, he wants Hell in a Cell. Balor says Hell couldn’t handle his demons so they’re on for Wrestlemania. Judgment Day storms the ring and the..

That’s Different: WWE Makes Huge Announcement About Backlash, Bad Bunny Set For Major Role

They’re going. WWE runs several events a year and some of them are among the biggest wrestling cards anywhere. Getting to see one in person is a pretty rare treat as they only come to certain areas. It means a lot to have a show go somewhere else for the first time ever or even in a long time. That is what WWE is now planning to do for the first time in eighteen years. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: LOOK: Liv Morgan Appears At New York Knicks Game, Gives Man The Cold Shoulder WWE has announced that this year’s Backlash will take place on May 6 at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In addition, Bad Bunny will be serving as the show’s host. This will be the first time that WWE has run a Premium Live Event in Puerto Rico since New Year’s Revolution 2005. This also marks a return to the Backlash name, after the last two events were called WrestleMania Backlash. WWE has a history with Puerto Rico. Smackdown Date: February 10, 2023 Location: Mohegan Sun Arena, Uncasville, Connecticut Commentators: Michael Cole, Wade Barrett We are just over a week away from Elimination Chamber and the main portion of the card is set. That is going to include a pair of Elimination Chamber matches, plus Sami Zayn challenging Roman Reigns for the World Title. Odds are the latter will get some focus this week so let’s get to it. We open with a recap of Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn brawling last week, with Sami getting beaten down but also getting the Elimination Chamber title match. Opening sequence. Here is Paul Heyman to talk about Sami Zayn, who is not here this evening. Can anyone imagine Zayn as champion? It’s as insane as Cody Rhodes saying it was personal on Raw. Heyman: “YOU DUMBA**!” These championships are not just titles, but rather the centerpieces of the Island of Relevancy. They are the blood that flows through the veins of the Bloodline. Without these titles, there is no Roman Reigns..

The more the merrier. AEW has shaken up the wrestling world in a variety of ways, including offering all kinds of fresh content to wrestling fans. As a result, there is a lot more big budget wrestling to be seen in the United States, but that is far from the only place wrestling can be enjoyed. SmackDown Results – November 25, 2022

Smackdown Date: November 25, 2022 Location: Amica Mutual Pavilion, Providence, Rhode Island Commentators: Michael Cole, Wade Barrett It’s the go home show for Survivor Series and we have a big time main event. This week it’s the Usos vs. Sheamus/Drew McIntyre for the WarGames advantage and what wouldn’t surprise me as a big preview for a future Tag Team Title match. Other than that, we’ll find out the final member of Team Belair, so let’s get to it. Team Damage Ctrl is in the ring to start and Bayley doesn’t want to waste any time. She wants to know who the fifth member of Team Belair is right now, so here is Team Belair in a hurry. Belair doesn’t waste time and introduces the fifth member of her team: the returning Becky Lynch. The brawl is quickly on, with Team Belair clearing the ring. Smackdown World Cup Semifinals: Butch vs. Santos Escobar The rest of their teams are at ringside and Zelina Vega joins commentary. Former WWE Star: “I’m Responsible For AEW”

Call it an assist? The rise of AEW has changed the way the wrestling world in a huge way. Rather than being dominated by WWE, the industry now has another style in AEW, which presents wrestling in a bit of a different way. That way was developed by a few different names coming together, but now another wrestling star is laying claim to coming up with the story that AEW is known for using. During an interview with Not Sam Wrestling, former WWE and AEW star Matt Cardona (better known as Zack Ryder) said that his previous efforts led to the rise of AEW and Being The Elite. Cardona said that his Z! True Long Island Story show caused the creation of Being The Elite, which led to the formation of AEW. Z! True Long Island Story debuted in February 2011 and ended in January 2013 after 100 episodes. Cardona wrestled a pair of matches with AEW in 2020. Opinion: It might sound like a big exaggeration but at the end of the day, Cardona did something that led to a major development in wrestling. ..

Sheamus Teases Bloodline vs. Brawling Brutes Feud

That would be a different way to go. We are just over a month away from Survivor Series and this year’s edition is going to be a little bit different. This year, the show will feature a pair of WarGames matches, marking the first time that the match has come to a main roster WWE event. The matches need lineups, and now a star is teasing some major involvement in one of the matches. Last week’s SmackDown saw Sheamus, Rey Mysterio, Solo Sikoa and Ricochet compete in a match for the #1 contendership to the Intercontinental Title. During the match, the Usos got involved, which drew out the Brawling Brutes to help Sheamus. Following the match, Sheamus sent out a tweet saying “The end of the Bloodline starts with Solo. Ireland V Islanders.” While not confirmed, this could mean the start of a feud between the two groups. The end of the Bloodline starts with Solo. WATCH: CM Punk Meets Hook And Danhausen After AEW Dynamite (It Didn’t Go Well)

It’s a different world. While there are a lot of people watching a wrestling event on television, there are also a good number of people who are watching the show in the arena. That can make for a difficult balance, as the promotion has to find a way to appeal to the fans at home but they also have to keep the people in the arena happy or the atmosphere will be ruined. That was the case again this week in a unique way. This week’s AEW Dynamite took place in Long Island, New York, the hometown of Maxwell Jacob Friedman. The company’s debut in the area last year took place when Friedman was feuding with CM Punk, causing the venue to not like Punk. After Dynamite went off the air, Friedman came to the ring but Punk came out to confront him. As a result, Friedman left and sent Hook to the ring instead. Punk left, but ran into Danhausen, who cursed Punk back to the ring. Hook then t-bone suplexed Punk and choked him out, leaving Punk laying. This is a special one. Check out Punk meeting H..

AEW Dynamite Live Coverage And Results – May 11, 2022

Dynamite Date: May 11, 2022 Location: UBS Arena, Belmont Park, New York Commentators: Excalibur, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone We’re back on Long Island this week and that means it’s going to be a bit of a Bizarro World situation. CM Punk is getting to face Long Island’s own John Silver, but the big story is MJF getting to name the stipulations for his match against Wardlow with Wardlow’s freedom on the line. If nothing else, it should be fun to hear MJF get that kind of a hero’s welcome. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Owen Hart Foundation First Round: Adam Cole vs. Dax Harwood Harwood starts fast with some shots to the face but gets kneed in the ribs to cut him down. That means Cole can start to pose a bit as he stomps Harwood down even more. Harwood gets sent ribs first into the post and it’s time to go outside. Cole sends him into various other things, including HARD into the post as we take a break. Back with Harwood getting sent chest first into the buckle. Harwood is fine enou..

WrestleMania Backlash 2022 Live Coverage And Results

Wrestlemania Backlash 2022 Date: May 8, 2022 Location: Dunkin Donuts Center, Providence, Rhode Island Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee, Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton it’s time for a pay per view that feels like it has been little more than an obligation as the show is six matches long with a number of title matches. Granted in this case that number is one but take what you can get. The main event is a six man tag for reasons that I’m still not clear on but maybe the in-ring work can make up for it. Let’s get to it. The opening sequence looks at Wrestlemania and how we got here. The post WrestleMania Backlash 2022 Live Coverage And Results appeared first on WrestlingRumors.net.

Here Is Some Of What To Expect At WWE WrestleMania Backlash

They’re up next. With WrestleMania 38 out of the way, it is time to see what WWE has in store for the future. They are going to have to start getting things ready for their next major show, which is only about a month away. That is easier said than done, but WWE does at least seem to have an idea of what they are going to be doing. At least they have some of the cast list ready. According to PWInsider.com, local advertisements for WrestleMania Backlash include Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, Ronda Rousey, Sasha Banks, Charlotte and Becky Lynch. The show takes place on May 8 at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. No matches have been announced for the card and there is no guarantee that these wrestlers will be appearing. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that might not mean anything in the long term but it is nice to see what WWE might have planned for the next month. If nothing else, seeing Lesnar and Rousey advertised at least suggests that the two of them will still ..

WWE Legend Releasing His Own Comic Book

It’s a unique honor. Wrestlers exist in a weird place when it comes to celebrity status. They are on television almost every week, but even then they are only known as wrestlers. That is not something that lends itself to mainstream exposure, but every now and then you see someone make it over the hill and into the next stage. Sometimes that can come with some unique opportunities and that seems to be the case again. WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi has announced that he will be starring in his own comic book. The book, titles Kishi and the Island of Dreams, will be released at some point in summer 2022. Rikishi will have a say in the creative direction of the story though he will not be writing it. There is no word on how many issues are planned for the book, which will be produced by AnimeHipHop. Here we go fans . Stay tuned its my first comic book coming ???#KishiAndTheIslandOfDreams #Summer2022 https://t.co/TnXyjQxsnH — RIKISHI (@TheREALRIKISHI) February 23, 2022 Opinion: This is some..

WATCH: AEW’s CM Punk Appears On ESPN SportsNation

He has something to say. There are a lot of wrestlers who are known for their in-ring abilities while others are known for their talking. Very rarely do you see someone who is excellent at both and it makes sense to have those people as the focal point of a promotion. That is the case with modern wrestling as well, and now one of them is getting some extra attention. AEW’s CM Punk appeared on ESPN’s SportsNation and discussed his time in AEW so far. In addition, Punk spoke about his debut, as well as some of the younger names that he is looking forward to working with in the future. Punk also spoke about his promo insulting the NHL’s New York Islanders and his thoughts on boxing and combat sports stars coming into professional wrestling. It was an interesting interview. Check out the whole thing, plus Punk in AEW: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is one of those things th..

Fan Pretends To Be Wrestler, Gets Thrown Out Of AEW Locker Room

You might want to work on that. There are a lot of ways for fans to enjoy a wrestling show, but the one constant is that there is a barrier between where the fans can go and the wrestlers themselves. That is a key line, as it keeps both the wrestlers and the fans safe. It is not a good idea for someone to cross over that barrier, but that was the case in a huge way. According to Fightful Select, a fan snuck backstage at last week’s AEW tapings in Long Island, New York by posing as an extra. The fan got into the locker room and sat in Dax Harwood’s chair before moving to a chair belonging to the Blade. The wrestlers then realized something was wrong and began questioning him about his trainer, with the fan citing Jeff Hardy. Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Dax Harwood ejected the fan from the locker room and taking him to an AEW official. The fan had tried to do the same thing at a Boston event but was stopped. UBS Arena security was said to be at fault for the incident. That could have be..

VIDEO: MJF’s Awesome Homecoming After AEW Dynamite Ends

It’s a good way to go out. With so many wrestlers on any given television show, it can be difficult to do something that makes you stand out. Some wrestlers are going to get extra attention from the fans though and one of the most common ways is if they are the hometown star. That was the case this week, but as often happens, the show was not over when the cameras stopped rolling. This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite took place in Maxwell Jacob Friedman’s hometown of Long Island, New York. Following the show, AEW President Tony Khan brought Friedman back to the ring, with Friedman using My Life by Billy Joel as his special entrance music. Friedman thanks Khan and said it would cost a lot of money to keep him in AEW in 2024. He also took shots at CM Punk for Punk’s comments during Dynamite and said he had dreamed of wrestling here one day. This was pretty awesome. Check out both parts of the promo, plus Friedman’s most famous talking to date: [This post contains video, click to play] ..

AEW Dynamite Results – December 8, 2021

Dynamite Date: December 8, 2021 Location: UBS Arena, New York City, New York Commentators: Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Taz We’re in New York again and this time around it’s the homecoming of MJF, which should be interesting. Other than that we have the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royal as the company has some traditions going for it already. I’m not sure what to expect here, but Bryan Danielson kicking John Silver’s head in should be good. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Here is MJF…..’s music to start, but CM Punk comes out instead. The fans aren’t pleased, so Punk asks if that’s all they’ve got. Punk: “I’ve figured out why the Islanders have yet to win a game in this building.” Punk says the fans don’t disappoint, unlike their guy, MJF. It’s getting hot in here so he takes off his hoodie, revealing the AEW pillars, including Britt Baker. After explaining that he can respect Baker without trying to get in her pants, Punk says MJF was talking about being better than Roddy Piper in Por..

SmackDown Live Coverage And Results – November 26, 2021

Smackdown Date: November 26, 2021 Location: Greensboro Coliseum, Greensboro, North Carolina Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee We’re done with Survivor Series, where a grand total of very little took place. Raw won the Battle For Brand Supremacy but Roman Reigns beat Big E. in the show’s main event. We are now on the way to Day 1 and Reigns’ next challenger will be determined this week via a battle royal. Let’s get to it. Kayla Braxton is in the ring to talk about Brock Lesnar’s suspension but here are Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns to interrupt. Heyman says we don’t deal with rumors like this one on the Island of Relevancy. The fans aren’t pleased but Heyman tells them to stop booing Braxton. He wants Braxton to go get some sources and find some real news. Stop living through an Instagram filter because there is no real journalist filter. Braxton is allowed to leave so the fans want Brock. McAfee: “Did they say let’s go……Brandon?” Reigns says the problem with rumors is they give ..

SmackDown Results – November 5, 2021

Smackdown Date: November 5, 2021 Location: Ford Center, Evansville, Indiana Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee We’re just over two weeks away from Survivor Series and it might be time to start talking about the show. Since it absolutely has to be Raw vs. Smackdown, it shouldn’t be that hard to get things going. The show almost has to be better than last week’s so at least they have a clear bar to clear. Let’s get to it. Here is the Bloodline to get things going. Roman Reigns talks about taking last week off after smashing Brock Lesnar, but now he’s back so this tiny little no name town can acknowledge him. He was on a private island running around naked last week (his wife loved it), but not everyone had a good time. Brock Lesnar got fined a million bucks, but there was one more thing. Reigns asks Paul Heyman what happened to the Usos, with Heyman talking about how it was a non-title match. When flat out asked though, Heyman has to admit that the New Day won the match. Reigns li..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – November 1, 2021

Monday Night Raw Date: November 1, 2021 Location: Dunkin Donuts Center, Providence, Rhode Island Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton It’s time to start the final two months of the year and we are getting them going in a big way with Becky Lynch defending the Raw Women’s Title against Bianca Belair. There is always the chance of a title change around Survivor Series time, as WWE might need to make sure that a champion doesn’t lose at Survivor Series by having them lose earlier. Let’s get to it. The opening video looks at Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair to set up the title match. Belair talks about how we got here and recaps her feud with Lynch. Her failures are opportunities to get better and now Becky is going to see what she can do. Lynch talks about how hard it is to be here and she might have even heard some booing. All that is going to do is inspire her. Women’s Title: Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair Lynch is defending and the trash talk is on in a hurry. Belair ..
