WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Considers Special Legend Shows For WrestleMania 39

Bring them on in. We are rapidly approaching the start of the Road To WrestleMania 39 and that means it is time to get ready for the biggest events of the year. WWE puts on some of the most important shows of the year over WrestleMania weekend, but not all of them take place in the ring. Now it seems that the company is planning some more events in addition to their regular wrestling cards. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Other Way: WWE Makes Another Policy Change (And This One Might Not Be So Popular) According to WrestleVotes, WWE wants additional interactive shows throughout WrestleMania weekend. These shows would be similar to Undertaker’s 1DeadMan show, with fans participating and the featured star telling stories. Shows featuring Steve Austin and Trish Stratus have been discussed but there is nothing to suggest that anything has been finalized. WrestleMania 39 is scheduled for April 1 and 2, 2023. I’m told WWE is looking into having additional shows throughout WrestleMania weekend ..

Verdict Reached In Randy Orton Tattoo Trial, Amount Of Money Awarded

And that’s that. WWE has long since become the biggest wrestling company in the world and as a result the company has more money than they know what to do with most of the time. That is quite the accomplishment, but it also means that they have a target on them with others trying to take some of that money from them. Now someone is going to, but it might not be what they had in mind. Back in 2018, tattoo artist Catherine Alexander sued WWE, Take-Two Interactive Software and the developers of the WWE2K video game series. The suit was filed claiming copyright infringement over tattoos that Alexander created for Randy Orton, which appeared in the game. WWE and the game’s producers claimed that the tattoos fell under fair use while Alexander claimed that she never gave permission for the tattoos to be used. According to PWInsider.com, the case came to trial last week and the jury found in favor of Alexander, awarding her $3,750 but no royalties from the game sales. Opinion: It may sound ..

REVIEW: Cyber Sunday 2006: There Can Be Only On

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Cyber Sunday 2006 Date: November 5, 2006 Location: US Bank Arena, Cincinnati, Ohio Attendance: 7,000 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler It’s time for the interactive show as we have the fans picking a lot of the specifics about the card. This can range from stipulations to titles on the line to participants, though hopefully we don’t have more of the two joke options and one real one. The main event is the Champion of Champions match, which certainly sounds big. Let’s get to it. The opening video talks about ho..

Undertaker And New Day Starring In Interactive Netflix Movie Next Month

Call it a different path. WWE has been trying to expand beyond being just a wrestling company for years now and that is going to be the case for a long time to come. This includes making movies under the WWE Studios banner, which have had hit or miss results. Now they are trying it again, though this time it is going to be unlike anything they have ever done before. According to Bloodydisgusting.com, Undertaker and New Day will be starring in a new interactive Halloween film debuting on Netflix. The movie, called Escape The Undertaker, will focus on Undertaker setting a trap for New Day at his mansion with viewers making decisions to help New Day escape. The film will be released on October 5. WWE has worked with Netflix before, including a wrestling themed film called The Main Event. This is one of those things that is hard to imagine. Check out Undertaker and New Day on their own and the closest thing they have had to interaction: [This post contains video, click to play] [This ..

RUMOR: WWE Running Events With Virtual, Interactive Fans

It’s the best that they can do. The Coronavirus has caused a lot of changes to the wrestling world with possibly the biggest being the lack of fans in the arenas. That is the kind of thing that you can’t plan for and really does change the way the wrestling shows feel. Other sports have had the same issue, but there is a unique solution that we might be seeing soon. Fans in wrestling serve more purposes than just sitting in the stands and cheering. They can also show wrestlers what they like and don’t like, as you can see what is working for the fans who want to watch the show. WWE has been missing that kind of feedback as all they have at the moment is their NXT wrestlers serving as an audience. Soon though, we might be getting something else. According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, WWE will include a virtual audience for its upcoming television shows starting with next week’s SmackDown. WWE’s television will be moving to the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida and the arena wil..

Bobby Fulton On Roman Reigns: “Get Rid Of Him Or Turn Him Heel. It’s Plain And Simple!”

Well-known wrestler “Fantastic” Bobby Fulton was interviewed by James Walsh on Interactive Wrestling Radio where he explained why Roman Reigns should be fired from WWE. On deciding to call it a career and retire: “I was actually going to retire last year in November. The reason I decided it was time to jump off is I’ve still got pretty good health and I’d like to keep it that way. I’m 57 years old. When I get in that ring, I want to give it my all. The thing of it is, 40 years is good. It was a dream of mine as a kid. I spoke to an elementary school today. Yeah, I told those kids if they have a dream and a desire and a passion than they can accomplish those dreams. I mean that. Yeah, I want to tell every child that. I had a chance to live a dream. Not only that, sir, but I got a chance to go further than I ever thought that I could.” On being paired with Tommy Rogers for the “Fantastics” team: “Well, Tommy and I met in Memphis, TN for Jerry Jarrett’s company. He was a singles wrestler..

Impact Star Caleb Konley Reveals His Insane Methods To Watch The Show Growing Up

Impact Wrestling Superstar Caleb Konley was interviewed by James Walsh on Interactive Wrestling Radio where he revealed a number of insane methods he used to watch the product when he went to school. On being paired with Trevor Lee as the Cult of Lee: “Well, Trevor is from about 2 hours away from where I live in Charlotte. I’ve known him since he was about 16 years old. We’re both from the same area, we’re both second generation guys. We’re both tired of the bullcrap that comes along on the indies and on Impact. Some guys want to go out there and be fancy and do all the flips and all the cool spots. We’re just going out there to bash heads and we’re going to talk crap to you while we do it!” On changing his look to fit the Cult of Lee persona: “It didn’t take much! Just stop shaving, basically! (laughs)” On the Cult of Lee’s feud with LAX: “Feud is a good way to put it! I like wrestling those guys. They bring out the best of me and Trevor. But, at the same time, we clash. We are oil ..

Every wrestler now working what was considered the "X Division" Style in 2002: "Well, I think that if everybody is doing that style then there are a few people who truly embody it and everybody else is just an immitator. What you have is a bunch of people who will forever be my challengers and somebody like me who truly embodies the OG, the original stylings of the X Division. That's me. I am that man! Of course the X Division title found me. Yeah, the belt has been through a lot of incarnations. But, what it has is a lineage that you can stand behind. A lineage that you can believe in. A lineage that is what wrestling is today. I am NOT like any other wrestler...

On taking part in the ECWA Super 8 Tournament: “Oh, I had a blast. That was definitely one of the things on my bucket list. I, unfortunately, lost in the first round to a great competitor, Anthony Greene. I’ve been wanting to have a singles match with him for a very long time. It was a wonderful experience just knowing the history of the tournament, getting to be a part of the opening ceremony and them talking about the previous winners. It was a great experience.” On other items on that bucket list: “The list that I put out, there was like 1 or 2 things. I’m a big fan of wrestling tournaments. The Super 8 was one, the Young Lions cup for CHIKARA which I have done was another, King of Trios for CHIKARA is another one, CZW’s Best of the Best, and the IWA Mid South TPI Tournament. That one is a big one on my list. Ano..

ROH Ring Announcer Says They've Followed UFC's Business Model

Ring of Honor announcer Bobby Cruise was recently interviewed by Wrestling Epicenter's Interactive Wrestling Radio. You can see highlights below, and the full interview above. If ROH has followed UFC's model of making their show more mainstream to grow the audience: "I think so. I think that's accurate. I think that's fair. And, that is a good thing. The "mainstream" fans are WWE fans. You have other fans but you have mainstream fans that just watch strictly WWE. Bringing in Cody (Rhodes), Bully Ray, and bringing in the Hardy's last year... The more eyes that are on the product, the better. I think once people watch it, if they're into wrestling, they're going to be hooked, they're going to like it, and they're going to watch more!" Women of Honor finally being used on ROH TV: "Absolutely! Last year and the start of this year, with what WWE is doing and what we're doing with the Women of Honor and our work with STARDOM... It is a grea..

ROH Ring Announcer Says Daniel Bryan Used To Coax Him Into Saying Wacky Things On The Mic

Ring of Honor announcer Bobby Cruise was recently interviewed by Wrestling Epicenter's Interactive Wrestling Radio. You can see highlights below, and the full interview above. Daniel Bryan coaxing him to say wacky things in ROH: "Yeah, Bryan Danielson used to get in my ear. (laughs) The thing with Danielson was I really never knew what was coming. If he hit me with three lines of things I had to say, it was on the spot. There was no preparation. That was a little scary! But, he was funny. It went from something like, "You tell them that I'm the best wrestler in the world" to something wacky or funny." If Daniel Bryan should return to the ring or not: "Absolutely, if he's cleared. I was thinking about this earlier today, actually. When I first read it online, a pal of mine, Adam Pearce who I love to death, he basically congratulated Bryan. He said, "You can teach wrist locks and head locks but you can't teach passion." He (Daniel Bryan) has it. Pro wrestling and wr..

ROH's Bobby Cruise Doesn't Think WWE Wants To Put ROH Out Of Business

Ring of Honor announcer Bobby Cruise was recently interviewed by Wrestling Epicenter's Interactive Wrestling Radio. You can see highlights below, and the full interview above. If companies should view it as WWE against the rest: "I can see that. They are number one company in the world. I consider us (ROH) the number two company in the country. People sometimes argue with me on that. I don't know where the argument is these days. There is a BIG gap between number one and number two. They are a mega mainstream company. They have guys hosting the Today Show, on SportsCenter, in movies, and all that stuff. I guess it is easy to say it is WWE versus the World. The way I look at it as far as Ring of Honor, we've just done our own thing. Obviously, talent has come and gone over the years, ownership has changed, bookers have changed. But, the one thing that hasn't changed is the quality of the product in the ring. That's always been what we've excelled at and th..

Thhe future of the Grand Championship he held twice in Impact: "I think it is a great concept with the 3 rounds thing. I think we got away from that a little bit. It is not my call what they do with it. Whatever Scott D'Amore, Don, and Sonjay decide to do with it, I trust their decision." The possibility of Impact Wrestling working with his former promotion Ring of Honor: "It is 2018! Don't be surprised is all I have to say about that. (laughs)" If it is WWE versus everyone else: "I don't know if I'd say it is WWE versus the world. I think we're at a stage where, why would other companies not want to work with each other? Look at this weekend with Impact Wrestling versus Lucha Underground. A lot of people never thought that would happen and it is happening. So, you never know! Wrestling is ev..

Don Callis and Scott D'Amore's stint in charge of Impact Wrestling thus far: "Great, man! Scott D'Amore and Don (Callis) and Sonjay (Dutt) are doing a great job running the show. I'm happy to be a part of it." Impact Wrestling returning to the road with their recent co-shows with Big Time Wrestling and Border City Wrestling: "I think that is what Impact has been missing - Hitting the road a little bit. The last couple of shows we've done have been sell outs. That shows what the company can do when we leave the Impact Zone. I'm glad that we're starting to tour a little bit more." Football players like himself and Rob Gronkowski being drawn into professional wrestling: "I mean, I think it is an easier transition to get into professional wrestling from football. I think (Rob) Gronkowsk..

You can see the full interview above, or selected highlights below: Madison Rayne and Austin Aries working with ROH Posibly Leading to an ROH and Impact Working Relationship: "I think the opportunity for that to happen certainly exists. As for the talent, my wife (Madison Rayne) is a free agent. She gets to go wrestle for Ring of Honor or go down and wrestle for (WWE) NXT. Or, come back to Impact! She got called to do the Windsor show in BCW. It was fun for her. She got to go up there, see some friends, see some faces, say hello. She had a great match with a future Knockout named Gisele Shaw. That match was on the pay-per-view. It is fun for her. She likes that. But, on the other side of it, she would also like a place that she could call home. A place that she could compete regularly and build her legacy or continue to build upon her legacy that she has built in Im..

You can see the full interview above, or selected highlights below: Who will be calling the action for Impact versus Lucha Underground: "I don't know. I'll be there. If I'm called upon to call the show, awesome! If not, there's other things that I could be doing down there. I would love to call the show. I've worked with Matt Striker for many years. That would be an easy thing to do. But, if that is not the decision that is made, then, all good. There's other things (laughs)to occupy my time. We're going to be live on Twitch Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and part of Sunday. There will be 48 hours of original content so that if you're not in New Orleans, we can virtually put you in New Orleans through our Twitch live stream! Lucha Underground Doing A Talent Exchange with Impact Wrestling?

While speaking to Interactive Wrestling Radio, Lucha Underground Producer Vampiro was asked about rumors of Lucha Underground possibly doing a talent exchange with Impact Wrestling. Vampiro mentioned that maybe it could happen later down the road someday but for now that is the deal between AAA and Impact and not Lucha Uderground.

“No, that is not going to happen. That is a deal between AAA and Impact. Impact will have matches on AAA shows, for example. We will integrate some of our talent into TNA. Hopefully, eventually, way down the line, maybe do some inter-company angles. Baby steps. We want to do it right.”

Vampiro also commented on the return of Lucha Underground Season 3 on El Rey on May 31st.

“I think everybody’s kind of waiting on it, you know what I mean? There’s such a cool vibe around the show. After such a long time, people are getting used to the idea that we are a TV show based on wrestling and there is going to be a season split. I think in this day and age, it is refreshing to have that. The other companies that are going strong, you really don’t mind it if you miss a week or two or even a month. It is almost too much sometimes. TO have us coming back, we’ve got people ready for it. It is a pretty good feeling. We’re all motivated!”
