Santino Marella Debuts In Impact Wrestling

He’s back! At tonight’s Impact Wrestling Hard to Kill pay-per-view event, former WWE superstar Santino Marella made his debut in Impact Wrestling. Marella made his entrance after Moose used a low blow to defeat Joe Hendry and announced that he is now in the role of the Director of Authority. He then restarted the match, which led to Hendry getting the win and retaining the Digital Media Championship. You can see a clip of the return below: .@milanmiracle is HERE and is the BRAND NEW Director of Authority! @TheMooseNation and @joehendry CONTINUES! #HardToKill pic.twitter.com/CY68Ndy8hF — IMPACT (@IMPACTWRESTLING) January 14, 2023 According to a report from WrestlingNews.co, Marella, whose real name is Anthony Carelli, is able to use the “Santino Marella” name because WWE abandoned the trademark some time ago and it was registered by attorney Mike Dockins last month. He retired from WWE due to neck issues and he has been running the BattleArts school/promotion in Toronto. Editor’s ..

Hand It Over: Title Change Takes Place This Weekend

History has been made! There are a lot of titles to be won in the wrestling world and some of them are a little less than traditional. With so many championships out there, it is easy to find one on the line at almost any time, even if they are not taking place on a show from the company that promotes the title. That is the case again here, as a title change took place this week. This weekend, Rich Swann defeated Matt Cardona to become the new Impact Wrestling Digital Media Championship. The title change took place at the Wrestling Revolver event in Las Vegas, Nevada, though Swann did not leave with the title. Following the loss, Cardona grabbed the title and ran to the back with it instead of handing it over to Swann. The title change ends Cardona’s reign at 114 days after he won the title on the February 3 Impact Wrestling. Former World Champion Makes Surprise Return Over The Weekend

Welcome back. In almost any wrestling promotion, the World Title is what matters the most. Someone holding that title means that they have arrived as a major star and that they have become one of the most important people in the promotion. Even after they lose the title, they will always be a former World Champion and that has some value. One of those made his return this week after a long absence. Former Impact Wrestling World Champion Sami Callihan made his return to the company on Saturday at Under Siege. Moose had come to the ring and said that he was hijacking the show, which caused the lights to go out and a video to play announcing Callihan’s return as he cleared Moose from the ring. Callihan had been out of action since September after suffering a broken ankle. Until Next Time: Two Stars Stepping Away From Wrestling

It might be a bit. Wrestlers are people who tend to move around a lot, as you do not often see someone who stays in one place permanently. There is always another place to wrestle in front of fresh fans with fresh eyes. It means wrestlers will leave one promotion for another every now and then, but this time we are seeing some people leave, presumably for no particular place. Impact Wrestling’s The IInspiration, comprised of Jesse McKay and Cassie Lee, have announced that they will be stepping away from wrestling at the moment. The team gave no reason for their departure. The statement also thanked Scott D’Amore and Impact Wrestling for the memories. There is no word on where the two will wrestle next, or if they ever will. Thank you @IMPACTWRESTLING ?? pic.twitter.com/S2GjB3f9K8 — Jessica McKay (@JessicaMcKay) April 27, 2022 Opinion: I’m not sure what is going on here but it seems like one or both members of the team need some time away from the ring for whatever reason. Yes, Again: Impact Wrestling Star Suffers Another Injury This Weekend

That woman is cursed. There are certain wrestlers who have all the talent in the world but one thing or another holds them back for some reason. Sometimes it might not even be their fault, but something keeps happening. That might come in the form of injuries, which can often put them on the shelf. It seems to have happened again, as a certain wrestler seems to be cursed. Impact Wrestling’s Chelsea Green has announced that she injured her wrist during this weekend’s Sacrifice event. Green suffered the injury during a match against Deonna Purrazzo. This is the same wrist that she injured during her first match in NXT. She also suffered an arm injury during her debut on SmackDown. There is no word on how long Green will be out of action. I could copy & paste this caption by now… lol Thank you for the support, calls and texts. ? Another Wrestling Promotion Returning To National Touring

Get the trucks ready. The Coronavirus had a huge impact on the wrestling world and a lot of those changes are still being felt to this day. While things are not completely fixed and there are a lot of areas that need to be improved, you can see that we are getting better. That is the case again with one of the bigger promotions as it has some good news for itself and its fans. Impact Wrestling has announced that they are returning to the road for regular television tapings starting in 2022. This will include their regular Impact Plus specials and pay per views as well as Impact tapings. This marks the first time that the company has regularly toured in several years, following extended stints in both Nashville, Tennessee and Las Vegas, Nevada. You Might Not Be Seeing As Much Kenny Omega In The Future

So long for now? There are so many wrestling promotions in the world these days that it makes sense to have wrestlers work for more than one at once. It can be interesting to see what they do differently in one place than the other, but sometimes you are getting pretty much the same person. Now though, some people who have been working for multiple promotions might have one less job taking up their time. This week on the debut edition of AEW Rampage, Christian Cage defeated Kenny Omega to become the new Impact Wrestling World Champion. Following the win, Impact Wrestling executive Scott D’Amore sent out a tweet saying that it was time to say goodbye to Omega and his manager Don Callis. While not confirmed, this would suggest that Omega and Callis are done with Impact Wrestling. There has been no announcement of Omega receiving a rematch for the title. It feels like the world is right again. After tonight’s @AEW #AEWRampage the @IMPACTWRESTLING World Title belongs to @Christian4Peeps...

Wrestling World Reacts To NXT Releases (And They Aren’t Happy)

They aren’t going to be happy. This year has seen all kinds of changes to the WWE roster and some of them are rather hard to believe. There have been a bunch of changes and moves to the roster this year and that was the case again this week. Even more releases took place to wrap up the week and a few names were rather surprising. Now the reactions are coming in. Friday night, during this week’s edition of SmackDown, WWE released more than a dozen people from the company, including a series of wrestlers and a referee.
