That is the kind of thing that can make all the difference in the world to a wrestler as it makes them seem like bigger stars than ever before. Multiple new champions were crowned over the weekend as a few title changes took place. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Homecoming: Two Surprise Returns Take Place At AEW Dynamite There were five title matches over the weekend at AEW Revolution, with two title changes taking place. First up, the House of Black defeated the Elite to win the Trios Titles for the first time. Later, Wardlow defeated Samoa Joe to retain the TNT Title. Following the match, FTR returned to lay out the Gunns. This was the first AEW appearance for FTR since January, as the team had said they would be taking time off until their contracts expired in April. Now WWE has announced that another name will be coming back to the company. This week on Monday Night Raw, a vignette announced that Elias will be returning to television next week. This will be Elias’ first appearance in an arena in over two months after his alter ego Ezekiel was injured at the hands of Kevin Owens, putting him out of action. There is nothing to suggest that Ezekiel or any other characters played by Elias will be joining him. Elias has not wrestled a match as Elias since July 19, 2021. Opinion: This is a good sign, as the Ezekiel experiment only got him so far and there was only so much that could be done with the idea. Putting a group of wrestlers together allows them to fill in more television time while also getting more people on the show. That is a tricky thing to do and a stable can make it that much easier. Now WWE is bringing back one of the biggest stables ever for a special reunion. As announced by the Barclays Center Twitter, D-Generation X will be reuniting to celebrate twenty five years of the team on the October 10 Monday Night Raw. The members who will be appearing are not specified but Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Road Dogg and X-Pac appear in the clip. There is no word on what the team will be doing during their reunion. A hope spot? There have been all kinds of changes throughout WWE over the last few months and one of the biggest on-screen changes took place when Naomi and Sasha Banks walked out. The two left the company despite being the reigning Women’s Tag Team Champions, which shook things up in multiple ways. However, the shakeup might be about to be unshook. According to Dave Meltzer on the Sports Illustrated Media Podcast, WWE is working to bring Banks and Naomi back to the company. This comes after Vince McMahon retired earlier this month and the new regime wants to bring them back. There is no word on if Naomi and/or Banks are interested in returning to the company. That can make for some rather terrible waiting spells and a WWE star is in the middle of one of the longer in recent memory. Fans have been waiting for her to be back for a long time now and that might be a lot sooner than they think. According to PWInsider.com, Bayley has been at the WWE Performance Center for several days in the past week, though what she is doing there has yet to be confirmed. Bayley has been out of action since June 2021 with a knee injury and it is not clear when she will be able to return to the ring. Over the last few months, Bayley has dropped hints suggesting that she will be back in the ring soon. Opinion: This is one of those things that sounds great on paper but you don’t know what it is going to mean, as Bayley could be out of action for a long time to come. This includes NXT, which may be the official developmental program but it still contains a wide variety of incredible stars. Now though, it seems that WWE could be in danger of losing one of those stars, even if she has not been around much lately. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, NXT’s Io Shirai has not signed the latest contract that WWE has offered her. Her current WWE deal expires next month and if she does not sign a new deal, she will become a free agent. Shirai has reportedly been telling others that she wants to return to Japan to be near her family. There is no word on where she would wrestle next should she leave NXT. Shirai has not wrestled in NXT since being injured at Stand & Deliver on April 1.
