WATCH: Braun Strowman Gets Slapped Hard During WWE Dark Match

Does that make it a handicap match? There are so many wrestlers on the WWE roster that it can be difficult to find a way for everyone to get involved. Sometimes there just isn’t enough television time to fit everyone in and the best solution is to do something with the people after the show. That was the case last week and it turns out that someone not even in the match got involved. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Not So Far: Scarlett Reportedly Pulled From SmackDown Dark Match, What May Have Happened The dark match after this week’s edition of SmackDown saw Matt Riddle, Braun Strowman and Liv Morgan team up to defeat Legado del Fantasma and Damian Priest. A clip has made its way to YouTube, showing Legado’s Zelina Vega confronting and slapping Strowman. As a result, Morgan takes Vega out with a Codebreaker. Strowman’s team would go on to win the match. It was a bold move. Check out what Vega did to Strowman: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is the kind of thing th..

WWE Adds Multiple New Matches To Hell In A Cell Card

They got some more covered. We are less than two weeks away from WWE Hell In A Cell and the show is going to be built around its namesake matches. Those matches do not make up the entire card though and that means WWE is going to need to add in something else to make it work. That is what they have done this week, as more matches have been added to the card. WWE added two more matches to this year’s Hell In A Cell card during this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw. First of all, Bobby Lashley challenged Omos to a match at the show, which was accepted. Later, MVP defeated Lashley in a match to decide who would get to pick the stipulation for Lashley vs. Omos. That night on Raw Talk, MVP decided he and Omos would face Lashley in a handicap match. The second match will see Kevin Owens face Ezekiel, after Owens issued the challenge. Hell In A Cell takes place on June 5. Opinion: This is the kind of a build that they needed for the show, which doesn’t have much going on at the moment. I’..

Potential Bad News For Mustafa Ali’s WWE Future

It might be over already. WWE has a lot of television time to fill in any given week and that means you are going to see a lot of names on various shows. Some of those names are going to appear more often than others, often being rather successful. That means a few are going to have to take the losses though, and now another star might have been added to the wrong side. This week’s Monday Night Raw featured a handicap match where Miz and Theory defeated Mustafa Ali in less than three minutes. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, this means that Vince McMahon might have already given up on Ali, who returned to WWE TV last week after several months away. There is no word on what this means for Ali, or what he is expected to be doing in the coming weeks. Opinion: This is how things tend to go in WWE, because they do not exactly like to waste time. If you do not get over in the way the company wants them to in short order, it is seen as the wrestler’s fault and that is where things fal..

New Stipulation Added To WWE WrestleMania Backlash Match

There’s your stipulation. Wrestling shows can be set up in a variety of ways but more often than not there are some special rules on the bigger matches. Some of these things can be better than others but the right one can change a match in a very good way. That might be the case now, as an upcoming grudge match has a new rule that very well may make things more interesting. This week on Monday Night Raw, AJ Styles defeated Damian Priest in a singles match. As a result, Priest will be barred from ringside when Styles faces Edge at WrestleMania Backlash. Following the match, Finn Balor came to the ring to help Styles against Priest and Edge. Priest offered a distraction to cost Styles his match against Edge at WrestleMania 38 and has teamed with Edge to attack Styles since. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that needed to happen for the pay per view as there was no reason to have Styles wrestle a handicap match, as Edge defeating him again with the odds stacked against him doesn’t mea..

Battle Of The Monsters Likely For WrestleMania 38

That’s a way to go. We are almost to WrestleMania 38 and that means the show is mostly set. WWE has a large collection of matches already set for WrestleMania but there is always a bit more room to be filled in. With so little time left before the show, some of the matches added might be a bit of a surprise, which seems to be the case again with a certain big showdown. According to Fightful Select, the current plan for WrestleMania is Omos vs. Bobby Lashley. Omos has been dominating against other opponents, including winning handicap matches, but does not have a WrestleMania opponent. Lashley has not wrestled since the Royal Rumble due to a shoulder injury and has not appeared since the Elimination Chamber event back in February. Opinion: This is certainly a different way to go but I’m not sure how much of a success it is going to be. At the end of the day, I’m not sure how much Lashley is going to be able to do against a monster like Omos. Lashley has been one of the best things abo..

WATCH: Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens From TLC 2020

This is how you make the best of a bad situation. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the full Universal Championship TLC match between Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens from TLC 2020. This match took place during the Thunderdome Era. You can see the match in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: KO was more than ready for Jey Uso to insert himself into the equation, too. He met Uso with a superkick as soon as he darted into the ring, and Owens didn’t stop there, wedging Jey’s left foot in a steel chair and stomping on it. Essentially finding himself in a Handicap Match, Owens planted Reigns with a Stunner before seeking to eliminate Jey, slamming him through the announce table with a Pop-up Powerbomb. From there, Owens came within fingertips of grabbing the Universal Title until Reigns fought him off the ladder and drove him through another with a big-time powerbomb. Far from satisfied, Reigns poured it on furthe..

REVIEW: Saturday Night’s Main Event #32: Make It Stop

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Saturday Night’s Main Event #32 Date: March 18, 2006 Location: Cobo Arena, Detroit, Michigan Attendance: 7,000 Commentators: Jerry Lawler, Jim Ross, Tazz And then there’s this, as we need a two hour commercial for Wrestlemania. The main event is a handicap match between the John Cena/HHH (the Raw main event) and Rey Mysterio/Kurt Angle/Randy Orton (the Smackdown main event), though it could wind up at any part of the show. There’s also Shawn Michaels vs. Shane McMahon in a street fight, which could have some strong p..

REVIEW: Halloween Havoc 2000: The Scary One

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Halloween Havoc 2000 Date: October 29, 2000 Location: MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada Attendance: 7,582 Commentators: Stevie Ray, Tony Schiavone, Mark Madden It’s at least a double main event tonight and you could argue a triple with Kronik vs. Goldberg, Sting vs. Jeff Jarrett and Booker T. defending the World Title against Scott Steiner. After that though the card falls off a cliff and hits every single rock on the way down. Let’s get to it. We open with the fans being polled about the handicap match. We..

WATCH: John Cena vs. The Miz; “I Quit” Match From Over The Limit 2011

The two most difficult words in wrestling. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube page in which they show the full “I Quit” Match for the WWE Championship between John Cena and The Miz from Over The Limit 2011. You can see the match in its entirety below: From WWE.com: The Awesome One knew he’d have to pull out all the stops if he wanted to leave WWE Over the Limit as champion, which is why he immediately took advantage of the fact that there were no disqualifications. Calling on the aid of his VP of Corporate Communications, The Miz turned the bout into a makeshift Handicap Match and brutally double-teamed Cena with Alex Riley from the opening bell. Attacking their loathed enemy with everything that wasn’t nailed down, the vile duo abused The Champ, but he would not give up. When his physicality didn’t get the job done, The Miz borrowed a trick that The Rock used in his 1999 “I Quit” Match against Mankind and played a recording of Cena screaming the only two words that can bri..

Surprise Title Change Takes Place At Elimination Chamber

Well that was a surprise. We are less than four weeks away from Wrestlemania and that means things are starting to come into focus. At the same time though, there are still a lot of things to get done first and that means we could see some things happen before we get there. That included at Elimination Chamber, there a surprise title change took place in a unique way. Titles are one of the most important things in all of wrestling. It is very rare to see a feud that doesn’t involve a title in some way and they are one of the easiest ways to advance a story. When someone steals a title from someone more deserving, it can get all the more frustrating and that can set up a heck of a rematch. That may be the case at the moment, with WrestleMania looming. Sami Zayn won the Intercontinental Title from Braun Strowman in a handicap match at Elimination Chamber. Zayn was part of a three man team, also including Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura, who helped him defeat Strowman. The match was Nakamu..

Title Change Takes Place On Monday Night Raw

That’s one way to solve things. Last month, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose became the Raw Tag Team Champions again in a very good match against Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre. The celebration was short lived though as Ambrose turned on Rollins, leaving several questions to be answered. One of these was the state of the titles, and now we have an answer. This week on Monday Night Raw, Rollins lost the titles to AOP in a handicap match, as ordered by acting General Manager Baron Corbin. Ambrose ran in and attacked Rollins after the match was over. This marks the first title reign for the AOP, who are currently scheduled to face SmackDown Tag Team Champions the Bar in a champion vs. champion match at Survivor Series. Here’s how everything went wrong two weeks back. [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: They didn’t have much of a choice but to change the titles and the AOP are as good as anyone else to put them on. There aren’t a lot of top teams on the show at the moment..

Intercontinental Title Match Set for “Wrestlemania XXXIV”

And we have a match! Coming out of last week’s “Monday Night Raw”, it wasn’t clear who would be challenging the Miz for the Intercontinental Title at “Wrestlemania XXXIV”. Both Finn Balor and Seth Rollins pinned Miz last week but no match was officially made. That changed this week. Here’s how Rollins beat Miz. [This post contains video, click to play] As announced on this week’s episode of “Monday Night Raw”, both Balor and Rollins will be receiving a shot in a triple threat match. The announcement came after the two of them defeated Miz and the Miztourage in a handicap match. Rollins pinned Miz to win the match after a Curb Stomp. You can read this week’s full results here. Opinion: This wasn’t the biggest surprise in the world but what I’m really hoping is that they don’t add anyone else. There’s no need to make the match even bigger, especially when you already have enough people. Just let it be the three people already involved in the storyline and go from there. I could s..
